Good Morning Cheetahs!

I can't beleive baby Cheetah is starting the thread today!:) I guess all the other Cheetahs must be napping still. Well, there is no difference in Sat or any other day of the week when there is a infant in the house. Lucky for me, he slept till 7:30...he use to wake at 6! Not sure what happened. Prehaps cause its darker in the morning?

I have a run planned for today. And I would like to do the GS UB's. Im not sure if time is on my side though. We will see!

Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday and I will be back later.

Oh yeah, I mentioned having a stitch yesterday while running....well, last night when I would go up and down the stairs I would always get a pain in my right side (stitch like) Wondering what it could be? Im hoping it won't come back to haunt me again today!

Lori

Good morning, cheetahs! :)

Today’s plan is 4DS C&B followed by a run, if it’s dry. If not, I’ll opt for some longer cardio TBD. Gotta do it early as I’m getting my hair cut later this morning.

Sunny :: thanks for the good wishes ~ I appreciate it!…I just made my own Oreo smoothie. I used 4 oz. of water, 6 ice cubes, 4 oz. of the vanilla yogurt, 1 scoop of BSN choc. fudge pudding, and 2 Oreo cookies…So, it sounds like you’ll be starting school in January. Awesome!! I think that would be a fascinating program of study. I did my M.S. online, too. It is a great way for busy working folks (esp. parents!) to continue their education.

Wendi :: I don’t know if you’ll have a chance to read this, but ((((HUGS)))) to you…I hope the fall didn’t cause too much damage. Good luck at the show today and your race on Sunday and have fun relaxing with your family and friends!

Wendy :: My shoulders always burn out quickly. I used 12#s and that was plenty for me. HA! I’m laughing b/c you were bustin’ me before on the HM finish time, and here YOU beat ME by one second! *lol* I know you asked this question of Sunny, but I’ll tell you how my online courses worked: you received a CD, course manual, and any required books for your classes. Each week, you would watch the assigned video lectures either on the CD or online, read the reading assignments, and then email your work to the professor. Some courses required weekly chat and/or discussion board participation…I haven’t ordered Slo-Mo Challenge, but I want to.

Christine :: I have been double and triple-guessing myself these days, and I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate the support! Thank you very much for those kind words…I just ate a Danish. I have been binging since Tues or Wed and really need to STOP!…I also used 12#s on SC&C, and that was a challenge…I went out for happy hour last night and am heading out with another group of friends tonight. I don’t much feel like it, but I’ll go, anyway…BC is at the top of my favorite list, too…Sounds like Jimmy is getting great training and care at the new day camp. Love the daily report card. That is funny! :7

Carole :: thank you!!!! I agree KB is AWESOME, but man, I wish it was longer! I absolutely *love* the series (although I haven’t ventured too much into the step w/outs yet, so I can’t speak to that), but I’m thinking it would have been really cool to have hour-long cardio with 30-40 min. premixes among the options…*lol* about snubbing the mare and saying “ouch or something else.” Love that Carole humor! :7 :7 :7 How were those burritos? Did you manage to get DH to dress up? I love Halloween.

Kristi :: That’s a sweet Friday deal…It’s a wise boss who grants employees these kind of small perks that go a long way…Sounds like a fun weekend ~ looking forward to those pics!!…Hectic? Well, I wish that were the term for it. It is really a crisis, and the resolution is a ways away. I had many meetings with colleagues and administrators this week and have begun to feel better, but I need to find a way to downplay the stress. It is out of my hands. But thank you for the good wishes.

Shelly :: no, I didn’t plan any cardio yesterday as I had happy hour plans immediately after work. But I do want to practice LIS some more this weekend. So far, I’ve only tried the warmup and combo #1, I think…I love your ideas for BC add-ons…I also think you should go for the photo shoot. You are the foundation of that department. Go for it! :7

Lori :: good run despite your side stitch!

Have a GREAT one, cheetah friends! BBL...

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!

Lori: I hope the stitch doesn't bug you today. Give your little one a squeeze for me!:+

I have 4DS shoulders, core and calves on tap for today. I am not sure if I will give LIS a go or not but if I don't I'll be doing All Step instead. I wanted to get in a run instead but I'm not so sure that will happen. I'll have to see...

I hate this weather. RAIN, DOOM and GLOOM. UGH! I also hate that it is still dark in the mornings. I got up just before 7am and felt like I was getting up at 4 in the morning cause it's so darned dark outside! x( When is daylight savings?? Ofcourse that means that it'll get dark by 5pm but I am more of a morning person so that's fine by me!;-)

Today we are going to buy Halloween costumes for the party we have to go to tonight. The party starts at 5pm so DH and I may leave the party a little earlier and head out dancing. We just have to call MIL and see if she minds taking DS for the night. She'll be at the same party so the "hand off" will be super easy. }(

I can feel the DOMS in my back from y'day's work ot ALREADY!!! My legs were a bit sore from the leg work the other day and I went LIGHT! Perhaps it's just b/c they are still tired from the HM. I don't know but I'm gonna be very afraid when I have to heavy up! LOL

So I officially have a black toenail thanks to the race. It's sooo nasty looking! ICK! Is it definately going to fall off or do they sometimes just grow out?? I kinda feel like it's a "war wound" that I "earned" and I'm kinda proud of it in a wierd sort of way! Okay, now does that make me a total FREAK or what!? :p :7

Alrighty...I'm done rambling on. Time to give someone else a turn!;)

BBL!

Good Morning Cathy!

We were posting at the same time.

Thanks for the explanation re: college courses taken online. The options they give you to get an education these days are amazing. There's almost no excuse not to do it. Makes me feel like such a loser! LOL :p

My calves are the weakest link in my body and burn out super quick like your shoulders. My biceps also seem to be weak when compared to other muscle groups and what I THINK they should be able to handle. I could barely yield 17.5 pound DB's for the last round of pyramid up curls yet was able to use a 20# DB for overhead extensions for the tris. Just seems outta whack to me but oh well. I am very proud of myself though as I have gained incredible strength over the last several months in my chest.

If you are going to order Slo-Mo you should do it NOW before the pre-sale ends and you'll save $5.00!

LOL, you know when the HM results got posted and I saw that I had actually nosed you out (even if only by one tiny little second!) I was laughing to myself and thinking that I HAD to bust your chops now. :p

Good morning early bird cheetahs:7

lori- enjoy your run today! hopefully you can find time to squeeze in the UB workouts.

wendy- enjoy that black toenail girl, you have earned it...lol. we've had rain here for the past two days. i am glad it finally went away today because i am running outside. i ordered amy's slo mo and hi-lo dome. need to start toying with my bosu...

cathy- thanks for the explanation of online courses. i am soooo ready to start but then again happy to have more time to prepare mentally. nice protein drink idea!

today's workout is a 10 mile run and then seg 1 from SM.

alrighty ladies wish me luck this will be my first time ever hitting the double digits.

ttyl...:)

OMG Sunny! GOOD LUCK! I can soooo empathize with you girl as I ran my first 10 miler not that long ago during my HM training! I never had the opportunity to run any farther so I went from that to 13.1! It's an awesome feeling girl. You are gonna LOVE it no matter how much you may curse along the way! ;)

Okay, forgive me, but I MUST ask for the millionth time...When is your HM????

Sunny :: enjoy your 10-miler! Doubt you need luck. You'll do great!

Wendy :: *lol* See? And I SO wasn't busting your chops when I posted my time. I couldn't remember what it was when you asked me, so I was curious to look it up. But OK, you now have one-second braggin' rights! *lol*...Yeah, if your toenail turns black, it will likely fall off. That happened to me after my half, too. I think it was the friction of the socks being sopping wet during the entire race (from the rain) because I had had no problems with the shoes prior to that.

ROTLMAO!

That's sick! That's really sick!;)

Perhaps running the longer distances will be the perfect justification for starting to get regular pedis!!!}(

Hey Cheetahs!! I know I haven't posted in a while, it's just hard to keep up! I'm still running, hit 19.5 miles this week for mileage- 6 miles Tues, 6 miles Thurs, and 7.5 this morning. Plus of course keeping up w/ the X workouts!! LOVE it!! I'm also doing a pushup challenge and doing at least 120 pushups a day. My max out so far was 600 last Fri. }( I'm getting some awesome strength gains this round. The coaching for MDB is going really well for me too, I love it!! Just keeps me busier. That plus the girls and activities every night! I got the 4DS, but so far have only done the KB. I really wish it were longer but I really enjoyed it!

I feel bad not having time to post to everyone so I haven't posted but I try to lurk.

Wendi ~ Enjoy your run today! I don't usually have side stitches so I don't have any advice, but hope it doesn't come back today!

Cathy ~ Oreo shake?? Wow, looks good! I still love the cinnamon roll powder, it's awesome in my morning oatmeal!! I like the vanilla creme flavor too.

Wendy ~ Black toenails are definitely a badge of running. I lost both of my big toenails while half marathon training. My advice- get bigger shoes!! I have to get running shoes 2 sizes bigger and it's well worth it!! And bright blue polish works well at covering up the bruising. So you're going to be a racing queen now!! You go girl!!

Sunny ~ Good luck w/ the 10 miler, you can do it!!!

Thought I'd share my latest pic from day 60 of the X.

That is so true! When I got a pedi done a couple weeks ago I warned the guy (never had a guy do a pedicure before, that was new!) that I was a runner!! :p

Wendy, do you think a pedicurist will touch your feet with BLACK toenalis????....http://bestsmileys.com/scared/7.gif[/img]

You 2 have certainly woke me up laughing this morning...and YES, runners have way nasty feet Cathy....http://bestsmileys.com/lol/5.gif[/img]

I'm sure you would know, Carole!! You've probably seen some really nasty ones!! That's one thing I could never do, I hate touching feet!!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...you are sweet...:)...I think LIS would be a lot easier than HIS for you. I like in Amy's new step workout she has a special section for learning the complicated moves. I don't think I will have a problem adding on more cardio with the new workouts. Yes, the burritos were very good. They use a cilantro/lime rice...yum!!! I got an old man mask for my DH, and everyone loved it. We just did not keep the masks on long...they make your face sweat!

Wendy...the Burritos were to DIE for!! And we did have fun at the party. I got DH to wear a mask and I wore one too, but those things get way hot. I am also getting Amy's Slo-mo, plus her Advanced step workout. Daylight savings is next weekend. I hope you and DH have fun dressing up and at the party tonight! re: black toenails, they are very common for runners. Especially distance runners but from what I hear it is all about finding the perfect fitting shoe. I have gotten shoes that feel great and then when I run downhill I can feel them crunching my toes, so I know I need half a size bigger. You will loose the nail but another one will be there right under the black one...:)...LMAO about you saving the nail....YUKEES!!!!

Sunny...good luck on your first 10 mile run....:)

Jess...great pictures, thanks for sharing!! Actually I never do pedicures, I hate feet. I only work on fingernails...:)

Christine...Yes DH did dress up, and the food from the Chipotle grill is great!!

Lori..sometimes side stitches come from the way you breathe. I get them in races when I go out too fast...most of the time they go away. here is a link with some info if you want to check it out...http://www.thestretchinghandbook.com/archives/side-stitch.php That is great your DS slept in a bit. Enjoy your run and GS workout.

I am planning on LIS cardio and adding on 30 min on my EXT. Also some Legwork and abs.

Have a great day....http://bestsmileys.com/halloween3/13.gif[/img]

ETA..Wendy, here is an article Jeff Galloway wrote about black toenails...http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/injury_archives/black_toe.html

Yeah, Wendy, I think you're just gonna have to rock the dark polish for awhile!

Jess :: great pics ~ thanks for sharing.

Carole :: the costumes sound fun! Did you take any pics?...I agree, adding on won't be tough, but BC & KB are just SO MUCH FUN, I don't want either to end!! I can't believe I'm saying that b/c on other workouts, I'm begging Cathe for mercy...Oh man, those burritos sound heavenly!! I love Mexican food!...That's good to know about Amy's new workout. I have a feeling I'm gonna cave soon. :)

I did 4DS C&B (good one!!) and an easy 3 miles in the rain. Off to shower and go get my hair cut. BBL!

Cathy** Good job on the workout.Have fun getting pampered!

Wendy** I hate gloomy days as well. We have been having those alot lately. The past few days have been nice though and thats why I have been running everyday. Speaking of toe nails...just lost one last week.! Beautiful!!!!

Sunny** Good luck on your run!!!! Hope you don't get any stitches!!!

Jess** Im new to the bunch! Holy Moly on the push ups! I think push ups are one of the best strength exercises you can do.The most I have ever done is the GS's and thats quit a few. I don't feel the nees to do more! LOL

Carole** I usually find that a stitch will go away if I slow down but it hasn't worked the past couple of days. Thanks for the info. When i get the time I will read it!

Well...the five of us had o.k 82 mins run. Me, DS and my 3 stitches:eek: 2 on my left side and 1 on my right. They weren't there the whole time. I started out strong but about 35 mins into my run, they kicked in and wouldn't go away. In the last 3 days I have lowered my HRM a little, do you think that could be causing the stitch that is in my rib area? My HRM use to be under my boobs more but I moved it down a little. After bf'ing for 7 monthes...its not hard to get a HRM under my boobs! LMAO!!!

Alright...time to do abs or something! Im starved!!

Lori:)

Hi Girls.

Well I just spent a little money on the hammer nutrition site. Thanks Carole!}( I ended up buying the 6 pack single servings of Heed sports drink, a 6 pack single serving of Recoverite (I've always wanted to try an actual recovery drink and considered BeachBody's but didn't want to spend the $ on the big container and then end up not liking it so this is PERFECT!), sore muscle balm (we are almost out anyway), and a water bottle cause I lost mine and it was cheap!:)

I'm laughing about the black toenail comments going back and forth! :7 What did I start!? :p

Jess: Great pics! You look fantastic and your girls are so cute! It looks like you are wearing those flowers on your head in your pic because of where you are standing. Did you notice that? :7

Cathy: Great work out and kudos to you for running in the rain. I wouldn't have done it!:p

Carole: Glad the burrito was yummy and that you had fun at the party. Did you take pics of you and DH in your masks?? :)

Lori: Sorry about those pesky side stitches! I hope they disappear soon. I don't know how you managed to run with them for that long. I can't handle it when I get them. If I have one and it's small I can run with it for a short time but that's it.

As far as my running kicks go...they are already a half size larger then what I normally wear. I was fitted by a running store when I got my first pair of them last year. I ordered my new pair online but it's the same style so I ordered the same size. They feel great and I was totally unaware of any toe pain while running my half. It didn't kick in until well after the race. Also, I had no issues during training...even with my 10 miler. Should I still consider going another half size larger next time? Seems like it would be too big which could then could cause blistering issues.

TIA for advice!:)
BBL.
