Cathlete
Good morning, cheetah babes, with a shoutout to the Bangles this morning. http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_sun2.gif http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_sun2.gif http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_sun2.gif

Wendy :: so, what was the controversy and excitement you missed at the wedding?…Inquiring minds!!! :)…No, no plans this weekend. I’ve tried to keep this weekend and the next open, so that I can focus on my National Board work, which has been neglected these past few weeks as I’ve been caught up with curriculum and regular schoolwork. I really need to get moving on certain things…*lol* about “wasting” your energy on housework. You just wanna use that steam mop again, don’t you?

Lorie :: are you able to sit at the computer??? How’re those DOMS? My knees bothered me, too, on the Butt & Legs workout. That one, I have to say, is not my favorite of the bunch. So, other than a sleep mask, did you score any fun purchases?

Susan :: hope you enjoyed your night with friends…I don’t sing, but it still sounds like fun to me! Not geek-ish at all! (I'm into game nights - now THAT's probably geek-ish. *lol*) What kind of music do you play?…Oh, I indulged bigtime at lunch. We went to Applebee’s and I had half of a quesadilla cheeseburger, ALL of the fries (I love fries and haven’t had ‘em in MONTHS), 3-4 boneless wings, and two Coronas. Needless to say, that was NOT part of the WW plan. *lol* Did you make it out of Target with only the essentials? I have to go there today and that will be my goal, too.

Shelly :: OK, yes, I am surprised to hear that you knit…but I think it’s cool…What is your current project?…I will have to check out Prevention.

Amy G :: welcome to the thread & congrats on your recent PR!

I did not do a split w/out yesterday to make up Friday's missed HST. I wound up getting home later than I thought I would. And I departed from my planned rotation quite a bit this week, so I'm not sure what I should do today in addition to my run. It's a bit bungled. Here's what I did.

Monday: suppposed to do yoga or stretch but did nothing (was sick)
Tuesday: BF
Wednesday: off
Thursday: AM-KM premix#2, PM-BM2 cardio only premix
Friday: off
Saturday: 3-mile run
Sunday: run + ???? (the rotation calls for LL)

Any suggestions on how to round that out nicely? I neglected yoga, I neglected abs (I usually try to shoot for 2-3x/week), I neglected running (usually I go for 3-4 per week) and I neglected 1 of the 2 planned circuits. I don't know what happ'd to me this week! *lol*

I'm also realizing how it is already mid-October and here I've not been building mileage on Sundays as it was my intent to do. I have some conflicting things going on in my training, and I think I've gotta re-evaluate my goals. I loved doing the intense legwork of the Aug. 04 rotation (I think my legs need it!) and tried to keep that going to a lesser extent, but it's just not conducive to longer running, at least not the way I have structured my rotations, which are also designed to fit my work schedule. So I need to work some things out...I do know, though, that w/ the Bridge 10K only 3 weeks away (how did it creep up so fast??), that's definitely out. But that's OK...racing is still not going to be a high priority for me until I can get the weight down where I want it.

OK, I've just flat out rambled here...

Have a GREAT day!! BBS...

Well when I originally started typing this there was no Cheetah thread but somehow Cathy snuck on in there while I was typing. ;)

So here's my original post:

Good Morning Girls!http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/coffeesmile.gif

How goes it this Sunday morning? I am up stupid early for no good reason. Oh well.

For today's work out I am trying to decide between BBC full body and a lower body work out like BBC Butt and Legs or, ofcourse, Butts and Guts! What should I do girls?? http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif

I still have the crud. http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/mad.gif I can't tell yet if it's gotten better, worse or stayed the same. I guess time will tell...The worst part is that I lost my doc due to an insurance change at the beginning of the year so I don't even have one to go to right now and with my impending HM in ONE WEEK, that makes me nervous! I don't think I can do the HM with crud in my chest...IT BETTER GO AWAY ON IT'S OWN SOON!!!!!!!!!!x( Joey is also dealing with a similar bug but he is coughing alot where I just started coughing a bit in the last 2 days. I have to call the pediatrician on Monday. Poor kid also has a Neurologist appointment on tuesday that was made a long time ago. He's gonna hate me. LOL

Ok, it's time to refill the cup! I'll be back once you gals start poppin' in!

Toodles!:+

Good Morning Cathy!:)

If I were you, I would do a full body weight work out today along with your run.

The story with the wedding is that the gal who is getting married is Sal's cousin. She is the "black sheep" of the family. She has been for years. His family is close except for her. They all get together several times per year for various things and she is invited to EVERYTHING but shows up at next to nothing. She doesn't appear to want to be bothered with anyone yet everyone was invited to her wedding (2nd marriage) and she had the nerve to be upset by the fact that Sal's family wasn't gonna go. Well this started a family scuffle and in the end his family got "guilted" into going even though most of us still did NOT want to go. This gal is a piece of you know what. Supposedly the wedding invite is her way of "extending an olive branch" to say she wants to get back in the family and be involved again. We don't believe it. We think she just wants the gift/$$$!!! x( x( x(

BTW, I used the steam mop y'day! LOLOL :p

Good Morning ladies:)

cathy- i agree(with wendy), if i were you i would focus on fb workouts right so that you get everything in and are able to focus the other days on your runs. i didn't get to pick up my accutane yesterday because we had a change in our insurance plan and dh can't find the new # for our prescription insurance...arghhh

wendy- please do tell what steam mop do you have??? sounds very interesting. although right now i am still using a cleaning lady. i would rather work 24 hrs to pay to keep her rather than do the cleaning myself...lol are you going to do any pt'ing at a gym?

amyg- welcome to cheetahville!!

today's workout will be just yoga. i am going to try out my new yoga dvd- yoga for athletes. i've been neglecting yoga for the longest and really need to do something.

ttyl....

morning, ladies!

cathy-surprisingly enough i am not that sore. i can definitely feel it in my glutes and a bit in my quads but it's not unbearable.

wendy-i vote for the double barry workout...total body and butt and legs. sounds like it's a good thing you didn't have to go to that wedding. sorry the crud is still lingering.

i did sleep much better last night and am feeling pretty good. df and i are going to do errandmax today and the take the pups for a long walk. they need it.

did you guys see amy's post? we need to sign up as a group!!! that would be so cool!!!

happy sunday!

*sneaking back in* http://bonanzaworld.net/tiptoe.gif

Wendy aka Mrs. Mopster :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_chores012-1.gif :) Interesting story about the black sheep cousin. Olive branch, yeah right! I agree, it’s plain greed.

Sunny :: that’s what I’ve been doing – 2 f/b circuits per week and then straight cardio the other days plus 1 day of yoga or stretch. BUT I messed it up a little this week…oh no on the Accutane! I hope you get it straightened out within the 7 days…you do have to jump through a lot of hoops to get the meds, but IMO, it is worth it…enjoy your yoga session!!

ETA Lorie :: whoops, missed your post. Glad you're not feeling sore. Yes, I did see Amy's post but didn't have a chance yet to check out the site.

lori- glad you are not feeling too sore today. i like DOMS but don't like it when it stops me from doing what i want/need.

jackie- where do you live? i live in nc and we are also have parade of homes this weekend and next weekend. we always go and check out the huge homes that we could only dream about, lol.

i finished 30 mins of the hr long dvd, before the kiddies woke up. not too bad for a start. i will have to work myself up to an hr long session...

Looks like it's going to be a gorgeous day for my half. I'm looking forward to it. I'm sipping my tea and have all my clothes laid out. I'm enjoying the quiet before...

Have a great day everyone!

I'm back.

I just finished a short but intense lower body mish-mosh. Here's what I did:

50 pulsing walking lunges (5# DB's)
B&G ankle weight work (5# ankle weights)
100 non pulsing walking lunges (5# DB's)
B&G stability ball work
50 pulsing walking lunges (5# DB's)

I didn't use alot of weight on the lunges but I didn't need it!}(

I plan on doing either 1/2 an Imax or a BBC cardio when Joey goes down for his nap.

BB in a bit!:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

The bad news first…so we spend all yesterday morning prepping and scrubbing and beautifying all six horses for a prospective buyer. The people are supposed to make their way over to us by 4ish. We have everything done ahead of schedule and waiting to hear from them. They call at 5:00 and reschedule for later in the week GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! Six hours of work for nothing!

Now the good news (with a little bad) …woohoo, I finally got a nice 10K run in this morning! I was starting to go nuts not being able to do anything. My original plan for tomorrow was to tackle the big 10 but I’m not sure if I should considering I pretty much lost most of this week. I guess I’ll have to see how I feel tomorrow. Now the bad…I literally ran into a vehicle fire 3.5 miles into my run. It had obviously just happened as I was the first to call 911…there was even an explosion while I was on the phone! The scary thing was that I saw NO ONE around outside of the car and the car was completely engulfed. I just hope that whoever was driving got out.

Christine - GOOOOOOOOO CHEETAH GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Have fun!!!!

Wendy – That was some “easy “day you had there ! That evil crud that’s been going around the board needs to DIE! It’s becoming incredibly frustrating because I can’t take the appropriate time off from work to let it heal completely so the slightest jerk or yank puts me right back to square one. You can’t tell clients who are paying $$$ that their horse won’t receive the training they are paying for because the rider needs to rest for a month…that would not go over well.

Shelly – Okay, let me get this straight…Imax3 AND HSTA in the same day?!?!?! WOW! I get the whole knitting thing…I used to do cross stitch because I found it impossible to sit still while watching tv. Believe it or not I do get a day off, sometimes heehee…every other Monday. The other girl and I swap off Mondays. It works because Mondays end up being half days with only about 3 hours worth of work in the morning and then a 15 minute stop in the afternoon to feed.

Sunny – Have fun with your nano! How was the class?

Lorie – I hope you had a good time with your girlfriend and am glad you were finally able to sleep. I have a feeling a double dose of Barry had something to do with that!

Carole – Glad to hear JC is enjoying the new floor. There is nothing better than watching the young ones having fun! I could watch (and play with) the barn kitties all day!

Susan – I’m sorry you fell victim to some crud, too. I’ve had the same problem with sweater shopping this year…too long (tunics), too short (crops) or just too big and baggy. Congrats on the weight loss! What a wonderful evening you had planned!

Jackie – It sounds like you had a great day yesterday…did you see anything interesting at the home show?

Cathy – I hope you had a nice lunch with your best friend. You’ve gotten some great advice with regards to this week’s rotation!

Amy – Welcome! I have to second Lorie’s sentiment…this is such a great group of ladies here! I thought I had read something about that in OD but thought that had already passed. I’m glad we didn’t miss it…I’m up for it!

Judy – I know it’s a little late but CONGRATS on the 10 miler!!!!

Okay, I think that’s long enough…sorry! I’ll see ya later tonight. I can’t wait for Christine’s race report!

Christine: GO GO GO! You are gonna do great! Woo Hoo! Can't wait to hear about it when you are done!:7 :+ :7

Sunny: I have the bissel steam mop. I like it. I would MUCH rather have a cleaning lady though! Don't you dare give up the cleaning lady for a mop! I am looking for a job training at a gym. I sent out 8 resumes and got one response that wasn't a match. I should have sent out more resumes by now but have been dragging my heels on it.

Cathy: So what work out are you going to do along with your run today?

Lorie: I saw Amy's post but have been too lazy to check out the website. LOL Just tell me where to sign up and I'll be there!:D

Wendi: Yikes, what a scarey story about the car fire! How sucky that the prospective customers rescheduled. What a bummer. Well, atleast you earned your money yesterday, right? ;)

I have to go to Kohl's today. I have to buy a Birthday gift for my youngest neice. I am late! YIKES! I also have to buy a card for the couple that got married on friday and send it off with a gift. I'll do it, but I don't wanna...LOL! I guess I should head out soon so we can get this done before nap time. I hate having to do things between nap and dinner. There's not much time in there.

Okay, I'll be back to check in on you girlies in a bit!

Good morning cheetahs

http://bestsmileys.com/textinbubble2/14.gif[/img] Christine!! Let us know how the half goes.

No workout for me yesterday...But...the laminate is all layed down!!! I did a bunch of cleaning and had to declutter around my fridge. We also had to paint behind the fridge before we could lay the laminate. So today will be molding day!!

Cathy...Sounds like a yummy lunch with your friend yesterday! Do you have SJ&P? That is always a fun workout when I don't know exactly what to do...:)..I didn't know your 10K was so close. I know it must be tough for specific training when you have long work hours like you do. I bet you will do fine in this 10K...

Wendy...I think it was a great idea you missed the wedding after that story! Sorry about the crud...but it sure should be gone before the HM. Poor little Joey...I hope his appt tomorrow goes well. Sounded like a fun lower body mish mosh.

Sunny...yes, I go to church every Saturday..:)...Have fun with Yoga.

Susan...sorry about the stomach stuff...Way to go on the push-ups, it is always a nice feeling to do mare than you normally did. Good job with the KPC/L&G premix, that is a great one.

Wendi...sorry about the horse showing reschedule after all that work!! Glad you got in your 10K run today. WOW! Scary about the car fire...

Shelly...I think that is cool you like knitting..:)...Way to go with Imax3 and HSTA. I hope you like the Sharkies.

Jackie...good job on the TM 10 miles! Did you and DBF find some interesting things at the Parade of Homes show?

Lorie..I thought Nadia was a pretty good instructor also. You are a true cheetah for doing 2 BBC's in a day!! Glad you slept better last night.

Amy G...thanks for the link for that run on the 11th of Nov. I agree with Lorie, you should come over and start posting here...:)

I am doing a 12 mile trail run with my sister and friend. Lots of tough uphills in the first 6 miles, the last 6 is easier...Then of course some FOOTBALL viewing....and molding staining...

Have a great day...:)

Good morning all! I hope it's a great relaxing Sunday for everyone so far:) It's a beautiful slightly chilly morning with temps in the low 40s. I'm heading out soon for a 14 mile run along my favorite dirt country road. DH and I ride our motorcycles along here alot too... it's so beautiful!

Cathy- I'd say a good full body weight workout is definitely in order. Do you have MuscleMax? Love that one! My knitting project currently is a sweater for my FIL... I'm a little nervous about it.

Wendy- You sure are coming up with some great impromptu weight workouts, obviously the sign of a talented personal trainer ;-)
I'm really crossing my fingers that this crud clears up so you can
do this HM!!!!

SunnyD- Good morning to our busy triathlete in training.... eventually ;-) The Yoga for Athletes sounds very intriguing to me.
I'm always looking for a yoga workout I can enjoy, not just endure!
What did you think of it?

Lorie- You're sounding fit and well this morning:7 :7 I guess it's a rest day for you. Have fun with errandmax.... I'll be doing that when I get back from my run.

Christine- Wow, time sure does sneek up doesn't it? GOGOGOGOGOGO
It's the San Jose RnR half right? I think the Rnr races are tons of fun! I know you'll have a blast and I bet you'll beat your time goal, you've been running so well lately! Looking forward to reading your race report!!!!!

Wendi- How unbelievably rude of those clients to cancel at the last minute. Surely they must be aware of the prep work involved!!!
Well, unfortunately that is pretty typical of alot of folks....
no cares for anyone beyond themselves x( That's great you got in a 10k today. You have a wonderful true love of running.... it really shows!!! I think it was wise of you to hold it to 10k today.... you'll be hitting the big 10 milestone soon enough! Wow, that was quite an incident with the car fire..... sounds suspiciously like an insurance job to me.

Judy- I congratulated you yesterday but maybe you're out of town.
Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS again on your huge milestone event of 10 miles:7 :7 :7 :7 You'll be needing now to stock up on gatorade,
gels, hydration packs, etc, etc:eek:

AmyG- How nice to hear from you!!!!! I remember you would post occsionally when this thread first started.... you're a California cheetah right? Or maybe my Alzheimers is kicking in;-) Anyway, I do hope you drop by the den again and chat. I think the Nov 11 run is a great idea!! I will definitely check it out. Congratulations on a GREAT 10k race!!!!!! Awesome pace:7

Good mornig Carole- We're on the same timing I see this morning. I'll be thinking of you and your sis when I'm running today, still planning on Vegas? I hope so, I'm so thrilled at the prospect of seeing y'all there!

Okay, got to get moving here. I'll also be doing an upper body workout later today.

ShellyC

OK, the plan is Supersets and a run. Thanks for the suggestions! A total body weight workout makes sense.

Wendi :: oh, man! All that work for nothing!!! That bites! So there’s one for the strange-things-encountered-on-a-run files. Glad it seems no one was injured.

Wendy :: nice mish-mosh! I went to Kohl’s this morning, too, but didn’t find anything. At least Sal's cousin isn't registered at TIFFANY. *lol*

Carole :: congrats on getting the floor finished!!! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_yay2.gif I do not have SJP…probably just a matter of time. :)…I’m not signed up for the 10K…probably won’t… it was one I contemplated…Now if it were a flat & fast course, I might go for it…but it opens with an out & back course over a bridge with approx. 3 miles on city streets thereafter. It’s a tough one…Hope you enjoy that hilly 12 miler!

Shelly :: I do have MM…that’s a goodie…Decided to go with SS just ‘cause I’ve had a hankering for it lately…My grandmother and mother used to knit us sweaters, hats, scarves, and booties…I think that is a really special gift! How is FIL doing these days?

Hello again! Well, I'm back from my run. I held it to just 12 miles today since I'm doing a strenuous race next Saturday and I had a tough workout yesterday. Kept it at a pretty nice easy pace also :)

Cathy- nice workout choice. In fact, I may join you in SS today. I'm thinking I'll do one of the upperbody premixes later. My FIL seems to be doing pretty well lately. I find knitting very relaxing. It really doesn't take much talent at all.... it's just a bit tedious but perfect for me in that I can be productive while resting. I'm not very good at just vegetating or watching TV.

Christine- sending positive vibes your way!!!!

ShellyC

I just woke up from a nap and chugged a cup of java. Once it kicks in I plan on doing the power circuits from BM2 but I am going to skip the weight segments. The idea is to work out the kinks from the weight work I did this morning...not to add MORE kinks into the mix!:p LOL

Carole: Yeay on the laminate! I am so jealous! I would KILL for laminate flooring in my home!}( I'll be it looks BEE-YOU-TIFUL!:7

Shelly: I usually don't go for such self-created work outs but since I rested for 3 days and completely fouled up my original plan, I figured it's a great time to just play around and have some fun with my work outs. I will probably spend part of this coming week trying out the 4 day split! I can't wait!}(

Cathy: LOL about Tiffany's. You have a point there. They had a couples shower (we didn't go) and were registered at Macy's I believe. This is still curious though as the bride is living in the same home with her daughter that she lived in while she was married to her previous husband and I think the guy had already moved in with her a long time prior to the wedding! What could they possibly need!?!?!?

Well, I am getting the "it's now or never vibe" about my work out so off I go.....

BBL!:+

Hi again...

I just woke from a nap, too...Will take just a little bit of wake-up time and then work out.

Wendy :: You know, I think I have just heard about everything when it comes to weddings and gift expectations. I remember reading somewhere that couples have even started selling raffles (e.g. for dances with the bride etc.) at their receptions.

Shelly :: I think what I said came out wrong. :) I think it's a really special gift to give someone a sweater or hat, etc. that you made yourself. I know I really loved the sweaters and booties. They were so nice and warm!...Glad FIL is doing well.

I'm done! Yeay!

I did about half of BM2's warm up and then the 4 power circuits and ended up repeating the first one again at the end. I guess guilt for skipping the weight segments kicked in so I felt the need to make up for it! :p It's a great short n sweet but super intense little cardio segment. I'll have to keep it in mind!}(
