::: cheetahs ::: Sunday's my I-just-wanna-run day!

Hey everyone! I really have missed you guys so much! My office has installed something that won't let us into most websites....and Cathe's is one of them. I don't understand why x( I truly don't. It lets me into VF, Runners World and Cool Running. It won't let me into here, Walking Site or YaYa's. When I get home it seems as if I am just so busy that it is really hard to post and keep up. I try to read your posts as often as I can.

I hope everyone is doing well! I am going to try to start checking in at night. I have been keeping up with my running, though! Yay!

Good luck Christine!!!

I did manage to run a 1/2 Sept. 1. Actually I signed up for the Charleston Distance Run (which is 15 miles). Well, everyone that was supposed to run it with me backed out. So...I signed up for the AARP 13 mile(walk). But my friend and I ran it, instead of walking. We ended up running 14 miles, because we got lost and got mixed in with the Distance Runners. I have ribbed her about it ever since, because only 1 more mile and we could have run the distance run (which she was afraid she would not be able to finish But...we had fun. ...that's what counts, right? :7

This morning was an 11 mile run. I have signed up for another 1/2 marathon on November 4...and this time I really hope to go through with it! :+

Again...Hi to everyone and I really have missed you guys!

Linda

Oh my gosh ((((Linda)))))! It's so great to "see" you again! Welcome back girl! I know it can be hard but I really hope you can pop in and post atleast once a week! We missed you! :)

Shelly..yep Vegas is still on. And now my niece might go! I will be happy to meet up with you again too and give you some marathon support...:)

Cathy...I think SS and a run is a very good choice. I am sooooooooo glad the floor is done...:)..thanks for the smileys.

Wendy..thanks, maybe you can get laminate in your next house..:)..You would really like it. Have fun with the power circuits from BM2.

Linda...HI!! We have missed you!!! That is sucky about Cathe's site not working anymore at work for you...:(..Good job on the half. Sorry about the confusion and going 14!! And you are so right, the fun is what counts.

I had a great 12 mile run and a bit faster than last time on this course. I didn't even walk...:)...Off to watch Football....

Hey All -

Back from the Half - beat my old time by 5 minutes, so I can't complain! It was tough as my reoccuring blister was back with a vengence around mile 8, So I had to work around that, but I did it! It was a nice day, gorgeous, actually, and the route is pretty flat (except for some underpasses, and those aren't too bad. Bands every mile or so and cheer squads in between, so there was always something to listen to and watch. I just love seeing the mix of runners. There was a guy who came in about the same time I did who had a shirt that said, "I may be Fat, but I'm in front of you" I ran behind him for a while and got to chuckle. As we run through some residential areas, we had a great amount of amatuer talent - including a guitarist who could not have been more than 5. He was adorable, and actually, not bad at alL! Amazingly enough! Well, it's off to watch the Pats, so I'd better run! Enjoy!

Christine- great job with your half!! sounds like not only did you have a great run you had fun with it.:)

carole- good job with the 12 miles today! i also wish we had laminate floors. i bet yours are gorgeous.

linda- nice to see you posting again!! glad to see everything is alright with you.

cathy- i have SJP if interested.

wendy- good for you, getting in your workout today. what a motivator you are..;o)

ttyl....

Yeah Christine! Congrats on your PR! So what was your finish time?

Off to the store...AGAIN! LOL Actually, I am not going to Kohl's. I need a new kitchen garbage can so I am heading to Susan's favorite place-TARGET-I can pick my DH up what he needs there as well so only one stop and it's closer then Kohl's too. :)

BBL!

Hello cheetahs!

Wendy - Glad you were able to get a run in yesterday. Hope it made you feel better too. The crud has got to go away so that you can get that race in. I see you're not letting it keep a good cheetah down. Good for you!

Cathy - I love reading my fitness magazines too. Lately, I can't seem to get caught up though. So, I'll take them on my flights to NY and Tobago. I'm sure I'll need plenty of reading material for the long flights. I've only been doing one leg workout with all of the ruuning I've been doing. And, I don't use heavy weight most of the time.

Lorie - We got to visit 4 homes yesterday. The big thing is still the media room. There was one outdoor patio that had a fireplace. Thought that was really nice if you do a lot of entertaining. Some of the houses weren't finished. Couldn't figure out why they were even included. Didn't like that most of the homes had carpeting. I want to see hardwood floors. We will probably go again next week since it entailed several counties. Lots we haven't seen yet. Hope the sleep mask helped.

Susan - Sounds like you had a fun night! Did you leave Target with anything in the store? :)

Shelly - Now you ladies have me blushing. Thanks for the compliments everyone! You knit too? You are a versatile person. What are you making? Running is taking so much time that a lot of my other workouts have taken a back seat. I'm building a new house and wanted to get some ideas of what people are putting in them these days. Hope to be in my new house within the next 6 months. Great job on the 12 miles today!

Amy - Hello and congratulations on that 10K PR!!

Sunny - I live in TN. They have 4 different counties participating in the home show with about 150 homes. It will go on for the next two weekends. The least expensive we saw was about $386K and the most expensive was about $759K. They usually just have 5 or 6 homes ranging from $600K and up. This year they decided to change up and have them scattered all over. It was fun though.

Christine - Awesome job on the half! Congratulations on beating your time! All the hard work paid off!

Wendi - So sorry you had to do all of that hard work and the people rescheduled. x( Guess they don't care how much time it took. Congrats on the 10K run. How horrible about the vehicle on fire.

Carole - Yay for the flooring being finished! You can stand back and admire your hard work. How was the trail run? Sounds tough.

Linda - Welcome back! Good to see you again. You have been greatly missed! Great job with all the runs!

Today is a rest day for me. Working with the wonderful boss tomorrow. Will try to sneak a post in.

Enjoy your evening ladies!

Jackie

You guys are so sweet. Yes, I'm a CA cheetah, but I'm generally under the cheetah radar, posting in the OAL thread. :p We get to pretty much talk about ourselves over there, with occasional nods to others. :+ Just kidding!!! But you guys are so much more detailed over here!!

The run, for those of you like our dear Tig (who apparently is known over here as Ms.AsSeenOnTV :p) who are too lazy to check out the website }( is some World Run Day thing where you sign up, tell them where you are going to run, how far, and estimate how long, and then everyone runs on the same day all over the country/world. I think that's it. And of course they send you a T-SHIRT. :D (Isn't that why we all run in the first place??)

So anyway I saw it and thought it was kind of a fun idea. I'm free that day (the only Nov weekend I'm free so I was looking for a run to do!) so I might sign up; it's always more fun to do things like that when you know someone else involved and I instantly thought of you cheetahs.

Anyway, PM me if you want me to figure out how we can sign up or register as a group. I'm not sure if/how it works since it seems like it is geographically based!

I'm so jealous of you all who are running halfs these days!!! I was signed up for a Nov 3 one and I was really excited but I have to take an exam that day and have to bow out. Talk about a bummer!!!

Good evening ladies!

Just a quick catch up on personals tonight. I’ll be a bit pressed for time in the morning.

Wendy – Soooo, how did shopping go? Your little workout today sounds like just the ticket when short on time…I’ll have to remember that one.

Carole – Congrats on finishing the flooring…it must be beautiful! I always like doing the molding because I know it’s the LAST step and it just makes everything look so purty. WTG on the trail run today. I’m still waffling about whether I should go for a nice trail run in the Gunks or my first 10 miler tomorrow…I’m so undecided.

Shelly – Yeah, we had the same thought about it being an insurance job. How nice that you’re working on a gift for your FIL…so thoughtful and much more personal than anything you can buy in a store. Your run today sounded delightful. It sounds like you live in a beautiful area.

Cathy – It certainly was a bizarre way to start the day. I hope you enjoyed SS. Oh, and I missed your yummy report about lunch yesterday. Me miss something about food? Wow, that strange-but-true story this morning made me lose my head for a minute.

Linda – Hi there! We have not “met” as I am fairly new here, but it sounds like you were missed. It sounds like you had a blast during those 14 miles anyway…sure makes for a fun story.

Christine – Way to go besting your PR!!!! That race sounded like a blast! What was your final time? Sorry you were bothered by that blister. I hope you’ve got your feet kicked up and are enjoying a well earned rest tonight.

Jackie – It sounds like you had a good time touring those homes. I’m with you...I love my hardwood floors. When I first looked at my house the first thing I did was look under a corner of some carpeting that was coming up and was thrilled to see some beautiful hardwood floors that only needed a little TLC.

ETA: Amy, we were posting at the same time. I'll have to check out that weekend and make sure there are no horse shows that day. I'd definitely be up for that!

I have a decorating project that I have to make some headway on tonight so I will see everyone in the morning. Good night!

popping in for a minute to tell amy that i would LOVE to do the run "with" her as well as with the rest of the cheetah babes! let's do it, guys.

df and i are making our reservations for vegas. i can't wait to meet some of you guys!!!

hopefully, i will have more time to post later.

oh, btw...my legs and glutes have gotten progressively more sore throughout the day. ugh, darn nadia!

Hi Weekend Cheetahs!

It has been family first this weekend and internet time did not happen yesterday. Yesterday was a nice rest day. DH and I watched DS play hockey both days this weekend.

Shelly- :)thanks for the congrats on the 10 miles. It would be nice to have a convenient way to carry H20 on long runs. Do you have a favorite product? I also carry my phone, but I find clipping it to my waist band in back works well (if the shorts or pants have enough Lycra in them)

Amy G- Great going on the 10k PR! And it is nice to see you over herE in Cheetahville! The world Run day is a great idea!

Wendy- It seem like you all have the cousin figured out. How do you likethe steam cleaner? Is it for hard surfaces or carpeting?

Jackie- Good luck getting the insurance issue ironed out

CHRISTINE!!! Congratulations on your half!!!! Enjoy the rest of today!

Carole- How was your long run and football day?

Wendi- WOW! you don't get much down time. A dear friend of mine has just taken up riding. She is getting hooked, and I am so happy for her to be doing some kind of physical activity.

Today was 3.2 miles with Grace on iTread #3, first 30". (I had a short run on tap)

OK TTFN, I have a lasagna in the oven I need to check and perhaps some meal planning / grocery list planning to accomplish.

Linda :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/greetingsandsigns/th_welcomeback.gif It’s great to hear from you again. You’ve been missed. BOO to your work for shutting down Cathe! Glad you’ve kept up with your running.

Carole :: awesome job with your run! You are just en fuego, woman!! :)

Christine :: http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_woohoonaner2gy.gif Props to you on your course PR!!! Enjoyed your race report ~ sounds like a blast!! Sorry about the blister, though.

Amy G :: I will be on a Disney cruise that weekend...I might be running away from the two-legged rugrats, but that's about it. *lol*

Wendi :: have fun kicking off your decorating project tonight and either your trail run or 10-miler tomorrow!

Finished SS & a strong 5 mile run. Feelin' great! Will hit the abs shortly.

Hi Everyone.

I am back from the store and dinner is done too. Oh my gosh am I TIRED! I started feeling it in Target and now I just want to drop! Soooo sleepy. I think I may be putting myself to bed right after DS goes down. :) I bought us both medicine. He has a phlegmy cough too. I am trying mucinex. I've never used it before but I am hoping it helps. I am actually calling the pediatrician for him tmrw but in the mean time this may help him bring up the yucks also. }(

Jackie: If I had my way I would have been working out all week but I knew I should rest a bit. I am just ticked that I rested for THREE DAYS and it didn't seem to help one bit! GRRRR! This is why I tend to work out through most things except for a fever. Have fun workin' with the boss tomorrow!:p

AmyG: LOL. You are too funny. So what date in November is this? I'll have to check my calender to see if I'm available. :p

Lorie: Glad to know you are feeling some DOMS from your marathon BBC work out! I was beginning to think you were super-human like our beloved Shelly who never tires and is never sore!

Wendi: Shopping went well. I did something I NEVER do! I bought CHOCOLATE!!!!:9 }( And no, it's not for the trick or treaters either! I bought DS a bag of small reeses p/b cups, DH a bag of mini snickers bars and myself a bar of dark chocolate. It's 80 something % cacoa....um...not very good. I know dark chocolate is not as sweet. I like it but I guess I've never had it so pure before. I know the purer the better it is for you so I figured I'd try it. It won't even cure a sweet craving it's soooo NOT sweet. I'll have to bring it down a notch next time!

Judy: My steam mop is for hard floors. I like it alot. :) They've had that cousin figured out for years....LOL

Cathy: Long work out for you today! What abs did you do?

So while I was shopping, aside from buying medicine for us sickos, I bought a new shower caddy cuz mine is all rusted up and nasty looking, chocolate }( , and finally DH's sox and underwear that he had asked for. I wanted a kitchen garbage can but they had next to nothing to choose from. Seems they were out of stock. Maybe next time...

Hmmm...I put a cup of java on to brew that's probably been done for a few minutes now. Better go grab it before it gets cold!:9

ETA: Thanks for answering my question before I even asked it, Cathy! LOL

Thanks, guys, for the warm "welcome back"!

Cathy - I agree with the total body workout. Were you trying to increase mileage for a particular event?

Judy - Yummy! Lasagna! When I went for dinner today I debated on lasagna or steak.....but the steak won out. Now I am kinda wishing I had eaten the lasagna!

Wendi - It's nice to "meet" you too! Enjoy your decorating project! That is awful that those people did not show up! I am sure that was a lot of hard work that you did :-(

Sunny - Hey, girl! I definitely need to work myself up to yoga! I "still" have not been doing it :+ Good for you!

Wendy - I hope your crud goes away soon! Good job on your workout! Wow.....the wedding situation would really be aggravating! I agree with you!

Shelly - Sounds like a beautiful, great run! It sounds like you have such a gorgeous place to run and ride. I am so jealous!

Carole - The floor sounds beautiful! Great job on your run! Are you guys talking about the Vegas marathon? I am leaving for Vegas this Saturday for vacation. I would love to be able to go on that weekend and run (of course, as you know....I couldn't run the full marathon :+ )

Jackie - Hi there! I saw you have been having some awesome runs, as well! You have been doing quite a few long runs! Good job! Is your boss a "bad" boss? ;) Hope you have a good day at work tomorrow!

Amy - That sounds really interesting about running "together"!

Lorie - Isn't DOMS great }( Hope it feels better soon!

Hope everyone has a great night and I just cannot believe tomorrow is Monday already. x(

Linda

LOL, Wendy. It's November 11.

Cathy, I'll bet you'll be running more than any of us when you're on that cruise!!! ;)

Hi all - got the "official time" so, I thought I'd share it. 2 hours 32 minutes and 54 seconds. My last time was 2 hours 37 minutes. As I've said - I'll never be a speed runner, but I'm thrilled to just do a half at all.

And like a fool, I turned around and signed us up for the Big Sur 10.6 miler in April. I did not get to run in last year, but DH did and he loved it. So, I'm determined to run it this year.

*Waves hello to everyone and begs forgiveness for no personals - promises those tomorrow*
