::: CHEETAHS ::: Sunday sMILES :-)

wow, there are some chatty cheetahs today! i am not even going to try to catch up on personals right now.

so, more dissertation drama. i met with my advisor this morning. after the whole "scientifically trivial" discussion last time, i made all the changes she suggested. well, she and the heaad of the department decided that it just wasn't a "viable" study and wouldn't really add anything new to the literature. *yeah, whatever.* so...after working on my topic for a year, she and i came up with a new topic AND I WILL BE STARTING FROM SCRATCH!!!!!!!!
x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x(
at least she can't reject it since it was her idea. i basically told her that i didn't care what i did at this point, i just wanted to get it over with. the only thing i said is that i wanted to use teachers as my study population because it is an easily accesible population for me. *cathy-i might hit you up, too!* anyway, i am going to see if years of service in teaching is negatively or positively correlated with self-efficacy. whatever. i really wanted to do my pet ownership study. x(

okay, sorry so self-absorbed. i will try to read above and catch up on personals.

oh, yesterday's workout was gym styles chest and triceps and back, shoulders, and biceps. i really like that w/o. rest day today since i am exhausted because i was UP ALL NIGHT trying to think of another topic! also, trying to rest the piriformis. i haveen't gotten my february runner's world, but i will be looking for it so i can read that article.

tomorrow the kids come back and i have A TON of work to do. i want to be back on vacay!

carole-i forgot to tell you-i made the black bean soup friday night. it was SOOOOOOOO good. i am going to make the oatmeal recipe that someone else posted in a bit.

i spoke to my friend that ran the thanksgiving half with me and she said she is up for the san fran marathon in october. i would love if we could plan that as a gtg. how about as a birthday present to me since it'll be the day after my bday? can i guilt you guys into it? ;-) i want to go look on the website and see if the half finishers also get tiffany necklaces or only the full. hey, i ran the disney full for the medal, i'll do this one for tiffanys but i'd rather train for a half, especially since i will now be working my arse off trying to do new research for my dissertation!

nah, i'm not bitter.

HI Chatty Sunday Cheetahs!

Again I did not make it to the forms early. But for good reason. Today is Dear Dads 86th Birthday. And with DBrother in town, we all went out for Breakfast. There were 12 of us and Dad really liked it.

Today is a rest day, and I am thankful becase once again I am SORE from BOSU abs. I did a unique mish'mosh:

1.EXT 20 minutes
2.Push ups from GS on BOSU (all 72 of them)
BOSU one leg balances (30 seconds) with weights in hands 3 sets on each side
3.back exercises: on BOSU ( lie prone and lift upper and lower extremities high reps, repeat with 5# DB)
4.Kneel on one knee and delt raises #8 DB x12, repeat on other knee
5.Ab section from PH on BOSU (harder than I expected!)

Carole- I am sorry about you pulling out of the race for nest week. But if it helps you recover then you won't regret it. We have had FB on all day here too. Are you posting on OAL regularly? I did for a loooong time. In fact Shelly ( Allwildgirl) & Robin (Buffetgirl) spent a weekend with me at my house in April '06. They are just darling ladies!
And I met Nancy324 last August in Manhattan. I still visit OAL periodically and have a fondness for that thread.

Wendy- We went to a local Irish pub that is close to us. It had remarkable food, and many TV's all on sports. Our friends brought me a late B-day gift. A Willow Tree Angel holding a black kitty. PS- I opted for wine (not good) instead of beer.....

Susan- I love you new kitty pictures. All my 3 of my kitties are black !!

Shelly- Hi Five for getting you long run in on the TM! I have to get outside tomorrow. I have been inside on the TM this past week after the dog bite...

Wendi- OMG about your tree! At least you caught it in time, but I would have bee annoyed too about missing your only window of time to work out!

Lori- Your little guy is so cute and you are pretty....

Cathy- I am not a Martini or Cosmo drinker at all. I do enjoy vodka, but only with lime juice and seltzer... I much prefer quality wine or lite beer or Champagne. Are you feeling better yet?

Linda- Good luck with the X ! ~ I have never done it.

Christine- I think you will like the BOSU, and I like how you set goals for yourself! How nice that DD likes her new do!

Hi Sunny, Thomassina ( are you still at Dsis's?)

Welcome Dallas!

Lorie and Jackie Where are you?

ETA- it took me so long to post that Lorie *snuck* in on me! Lorie I am so sorry about your research being squashed!

Wendy – enjoy shopping! That’s always a good diversion!

Carole – Sorry you have to pull out of the relay next Sunday! That’s a bummer! I’m glad they have a replacement, but still… Glad you had no rain, too. It’s over cast here, but not raining. Thankfully! I’m so tired about the rain.

Lori – How utterly frustrating!!! What a pain! I still think your pet ownership study is much more interesting. Grrr….

Judy – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DD!!! Wow! What a milestone! Enjoy the day with him. Sounds like a killer workout you did!

Well did the HLX/APX circuit – did the third one – the one that has all of the body parts in it. OUCH. I’m totally sore right now. I’m definitely doing an easy cardio day tomorrow. I did skip the core work because my core is so sore from the BOSU workout yesterday. I could feel my core in all the exercises because it’s sore – interesting learning what workouts use the core the most though! Have to go take DD15 to her Youth Advisory Board meeting soon! Then it’s Football and studying my presentation.

Hola, cheetahs! Another Sunday swiftly coming to a close, it seems.

Linda :: is your avatar a picture of you in LV? You look incredible!…Yeah, she did get him pretty good with the cake. I dunno…I am not really into weddings or some of these traditions (thank God they didn’t do the whole bouquet thing!), but I did find that picture amusing. Her eyes look so demonic! :7

Lori :: sorry your TM is acting up again…thanks – I really do prefer to be on the other side of the camera, but I realized that I didn’t take any pictures with DSis on the cruise, so I wanted one of us together.

Christine :: the presentations do sound like a stupid requirement…sorry you have to give up some of your Sunday for it…but I’m sure yours will be stellar!…No, Killington definitely doesn’t rival the West’s vertical (I think it’s in the ballpark of 3,000-4,000 feet), but it’s my favorite place to ski of those I’ve tried in the Northeast. There are 200 trails and the après scene is hoppin’…I had a choc martini once and almost barfed…thanks! We do have a bit of a warped sense of humor.

Shelly :: any accumulation?…thank you! I have ugly duckling syndrome, so I can’t believe it that someone is using the word “foxy” to refer to me!! *lol* I’m blushing but appreciate the compliments greatly…IA the core work in the instructional vid is good to try. Helps you get a feel for what kind of work you can do on your own. Can’t wait til you do the core work on BOSU Blast when it gets there…Circuit Circus *does* sound fun. Hearing the name reminds me of Vegas. :)

Wendy :: how was your mall excursion? Today it’s my turn to live vicariously through your purchases. Do tell!

Carole :: So sorry you have to pull out of the relay – what a bummer, but IA it is a wise move…Hey, maybe add some Ultras and some chips and salsa to game day and THAT should make ya smile!…Yeah, he really did have cake crammed up his nose, didn’t he? *lol* I’d say he took it well.

Lorie :: ((((((HUGS))))) I am *so* sorry about your dissertation…I can’t believe how your advisor screwed you over…Which she really did…If it wasn’t viable, she shouldn’t have approved your topic and then waited a year to change her mind!! WTH http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/bsbullf.gif …Man, that just plain sucks! *sending one big fat cyber biatch-slap her way* http://forums.s2kca.com/images/smilies/smack5.gif Of course, if I can be of help in any way, you know I will…I will check out the site and seriously think about the SF HM…*lol* about running it for the necklace.

Judy :: Happy b’day to DDad! Breakfast must have been a hoot…How is the dog bite wound?…I have never had a Cosmo…Very rarely do I do mixed drinks…wine almost never rarely…champagne—never…My preference is light beer…on occasion, I can be persuaded to do a shot.

I’m also in the sore core club…the DOMS has been progressing as the day wears on…I managed to do the bare minimum of work for school, downed a McDon’s value meal (so bad but oh-so-good), and then napped before heading out for a 3.1 mile run in lovely nearly 50-degree temps! I had a side stitch for about a mile, but considering my night of debauchery, it was, all in all, a decent run. So GREAT to get out there! I love the fresh air.

Lorie...I am so truly sorry about the irritating adviser...you know I feel this truly sucks for you. I do hope the new topic will be much better for you...Happy to hear you liked the Black Bean soup. I made the Red beans and Rice recipe I posted, today with a few modifications..:)..I would love to meet up with you for the half in SF!!!!

Judy...http://cuteberries.com/glitters/happybirthday/happybirthday2.gif[/img] to your Dad!! Your mish mosh sounds fun. I was just hoping SD would do a bit better the 1st half...:(...I have posted with the OALer's since the New Year, I met Beavs, Emily, and Robin at the RT. I remember when you met with Robin and Shelley. Looked like you had some fun. I would love to meet Nancy! I know it was a good idea to pull out of the relay and I am happy with the girl replacing me...it is just hard...

Christine...yes you hit it exactly..."but still"....I will get over it...We are getting rain off and on right now. Good job with the HLX/PX premix.

Cathy...yes, it was a bummer but I do really like the girl that is replacing me and I hated to leave them hanging. I should scan my wedding pics as I think we might have wore some cake...:)..Your BS smiley is making me LMAO..:D. High 5's for the 3.1 mile run!!

Watching FB and the Chargers will need some help to beat those Titans...

Good evening Cheetahs!

Susan - Thanks for sharing the pic of your new kitty. She's purdy.

Dallas - Welcome!

Cathy - Glad you had fun at the reception. I did't like Tracey's braids in Cardio Sweatfest for some reason. Great pics of you and your sis. Looks like everyone was having fun.

Lori - DS is a cutie pie. Looks like he really enjoyed the cake. Thanks for sharing.

Linda - Sounds like Madison was getting you prepared for work tomorrow. Glad you had a good workout today.

Wendi - Sorry the tree interfered with your workout. At least you have it over and done with. Hope you were able to still sneak a workout in. How was work?

Sunny - Sounds like a good workout for you today. I need to check out the new iTrains.

Carole - Glad the power was back on at church. So sorry you expererienced pain on your run and you have to pull out of the relays. But, it sounds like the right thing for you. I have the TN & SD game on now. I'm a little partial to TN. :)

Christine - Sorry you had to spend the day working on a presentation. Good luck with it.

Shelly - Glad you finally got to have fun and get some relaxing in. How did you like the Bosu workout? DBF came up yesterday and we went to see National Treasure last night. We enjoyed the movie. He throws me out of my routine and thus why I'm posting so late. I sent him back home a few minutes ago. And, here I am.

Wendy - Hope you enjoyed your rest day. Any bargains at the mall. I need to stay away from that place as much as I can this year.

Lorie - Sorry you have to start over again on your dissertation. Hope this one works better for the advisor.

Judy - Happy Birthday to your dad! Glad he enjoyed himself.

Rest day for me. Need to get things ready for work tomorrow. Hope everyone enjoyed their day.

Jackie

Cathy - Thank you! So do you! Yes, the avatar was in LV in October. We took a few pictures last week, but I haven't done anything with them yet. Your "smileys" are hilarious! Where on earth do you find those? I may have to have a McD fix tomorrow }( It feels kind of odd when your core gets sore, doesn't it?

Jackie - Yes, the little rat was prepping me for work tomorrow ;-) Hope you enjoyed your rest day! I went to download the Tagteam that you posted about the other day. But I wasn't sure if you had the 20 minute one or the 45 minute one? So I wanted to ask you before I got it. Have you tried Circuit Circus?

Christine _ one of these days I will have to try that premix! I have heard it is really good, but I haven't done it yet! It was a long one, wasn't it?

Lorie - That is horrible (and I am sure sooo frustrating) what your advisor did about your dissertation! Bless your heart!

Judy - Awww! Happy birthday to your dad! You are sooo lucky! That is wonderful!

Well, Hopefully...I will get to check in tomorrow! The madness begins x( x( I hate my job!

Linda

tried to edit but it was too late...the graphics for Judy's Dad didn't show..:)...

So I will try again....http://myglitterspace.com/glitters/bday/15.gif[/img] To Judy's DAD!

OMGoodness you chatty gals! I would love to sit and type a fury of personals but I wouldn’t get to bed until 4 am! Besides I’m busy finishing the preparations for my 1st day of the 12 week challenge and one step toward my goal of getting up on-time for the exercise is going to bed on time. Anyhoo, I’ll definitely get on line at lunch tomorrow (back to work! YUCK) and post to you fine cheetah gals! I LOVE the idea of the NIKE ½ or full. I was already planning on at least the ½ and LOL about running for the necklace cuz that’s what was inspiring me to do it! I too wondered how to sign up for the runs since it does sell out immediately so I just tonight emailed an address and hopefully will get a response. Thanks for wondering about us, yes the power came back on at home and DD and I made it home late this afternoon. I had shopping to do etc. I made the family a huge hot dinner of mashed potatoes, pork chops, gravy and mixed green salad. Was hard to go back to cooking in my teensy average kitchen with sort of ok cookware after a few days of cooking in Dsister’s very DREAMY kitchen fully equipped with a 6 gas burner cook top, sub zero refrigerator, and stunning cookware and utensils from Italy and France… I felt so Iron-chefish for a few days…LOL. …Ok, I’m just trying to catch up and get organized to go back to work tomorrow and start my challenge first thing, so I better shut me trap now and finish up.

Goodnight cheetah friends – “see” ya tomorrow!

Thomasina “Posh cheetah”…:7
Edited to add: Um yeah, I felt bad about DH and DS roughing it out at home without power but DH turned down my mother's offer to go to her warm house in Sacramento mostly because he wouldn't leave the horse...or the dogs...or the cat.... They were ok though cuz we have down comforters in the house and DS said it was alot like camping....altough he missed his "electronics"...LOL
