Good morning all! Hope everyone is having a great Sunday so far!
I had a wonderful 9 mile run yesterday. My speed is improving close to what it was pre injury (seems like it was so long ago)
DH got all ready to go out with me to walk and when we got there he decided he wasn't dressed right and it was too coldx( Ah well!
I did Core Syn yesterday also. I hadn't done this in a while but it wasn't quite as hard as I remembered! Still quite challenging though... especially those plank to chataranga(sp?) runs
Christine- Your spinervals workout looked impressive! Are you training also for a bike race? I seem to recall you posting something like that. Have you ever considered a duathlon?
Jackie- Glad to see you posting again! It's nice to have another 50something around:7 Actually I'll be celebrating the big 50 soon (later this month) with a 10k!!! (naturally) Hey, there is nothing to feel bad about doing 6 miles in 65 minutes!! Methinks you are a tad too hard on yourself.... especially since it's been a while since you've run outdoors. It is quite a bit different from a TM run. Not to worry though... you're speed will pick up naturally the more you get outside.
Thomasina! Hey there.... having a good 12 miler today? Sorry to hear about your onggoing struggles with DD17. I hope you and your DH aren't beating yourselves up wondering where you went wrong.
Some people are just born bad I'm afraid. My parents raised 5 kids
and did a fine job.... they are fine people, but they lost the "kid lottery" with the last one I'm afraid and she (my little sister)
has made their lives hell. I hope you and your DH have the strength to do what is right and not let her ruin your lives any longer.
Cathy- Glad to hear you had such a restful and yet productive Saturday... I'd say some Coronas would be a great way to end it too:7 But a good run today should take care of those;-) Thank you for your advise Re: getting my DH motivated. I'm sure he does feel intimidated. I can't change my lifestyle though I'm afraid... I never talk about my workouts with him... well I keep hoping!
Hey, are you going on your ski trip with your "usual" ski buddies?
I know you had some problems with one of them.... how did that turn out?
Judy- Sorry to hear about your difficult TM run. How long had it been since you've last run before this? It could take several weeks of abstaining from running to really heal I'm afraid x( But we have wonderful Cathe workouts in the meantime:7 You may want to check out foam rollers in the meantime. I just bought one and tried it... all I can say is WOW!
SunnyD- Nice to hear from you busy cheetah! I hope you are charging more for your at home clients... that's quite a bit more hassle for you. I wouldn't worry about your endurance at all in spin class!! I'd be willing to bet you could outlast the instructor ;-)
Gayle- Try this...
www.workoutmusicvideo.com. It's funny you should mention this. I was wondering the same thing the other day and did some searching. I'm sure there are lots of other sites. Glad to hear you had a lazy sleep in morning. Your body obviously needed it.
Carole- Egad you've been having bad luck in the body pain dept lately
From what I understand you can have outer hip/thigh pain also from lower back problems and perhaps the kickboxing did aggravate it some in new ways. Have a good sweatdrenching hour on the EXT!
Jess- THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! (I'm sure you're scratching your head and going "huh?") I had received a gift card for Target and was there yesterday wondering what to buy. I broused the sporting goods/fitness section and came across the foam roller, complete with instructional DVD. I remember how much you've talked about benefitting from it and I've read accounts similar to this on runners forums so I though... Why not try it? Anyway, I gave myself a complete body massage last night... WOW! This simple devise can really get in there
I felt it particularly in my trouble areas. (L hip-- piriformis) and R inner thigh. I think this will end up being the most useful piece of fitness equipment I've ever bought. And that is saying something! Anyway, I hope you check in today and read this. Thank you again!
Okay, time to get busy. I have a 4 mile run on tap today and then
B&G leg blast.... wooohooo :7
