..:: CHEETAHS ::.. Saturday Bliss

Carole - I am so glad John is in good spirits! He has been through so much! I hope the bed sore heals well and that he doesn't get anymore! The fire sounded wonderful! We haven't started on yet. When DH gets home from Montana, I may have him start us one next weekend! I love fall!

Wendy - I am so glad you had a good run and that the knee didn't give you any trouble! That is awesom!!

Jackie - Great job on your run today! That is great! LOL...that happens to me, too! And it seems like everytime I drive somewhere to run, before I get started, I have to run into a fastfood rest. or convenient store to pee! Grr!

Cathy - Don't apologize for talking about Chicago! I am so excited for you and want to hear anything you have to say! (and I am sure everyone else does, too! I am excited for all of you guys!

WEndi - I hope you feel better soon! What were the lumps last time? Was it just an infection? Get some rest! You have been going at it awful hard, lately!

Gloria - Good job on the run yesterday!

We had a good time shopping and eating! I am sitting here importing some CDs onto my iPod. I am almost finished. Think I am going to go to bed!

Hope everyone has a good night!

Linda

Cathy - You had asked about the fuel belt/fanny pack/etc. I think I am going to wear my marathon shorts that has the 3 pockets around the back to stash some Shot Blocks. I may use my Fuel Belt with the 4 bottles to use my Gu2o (2 bottles Gu...2 bottles water). Just so what happened to me at the Distance Run won't happen again! That belt has a pouch for gels, ID, money, etc. too. I may just put the Shot Blocks in that pouch. That is my "plan" anyway ;). I may end up changing my mind!

Hi Girls.

I'm back for a few minutes. DH and I went shopping this afternoon. We are supposed to be heading out to the movies but we ordered pizza prior to going that is LATE so we probably won't make the intended show. Who knows what we'll do now??

Shelly: Somehow I missed ya when I posted personals before. I'm sorry! Just wanted to say THANKS for the marathon support! You know you don't have to run my full with me if you don't want but if you decide to that would be great. :D The fact that you are running LBI with me is awesome enough. :)

Linda: Glad you had a fun day shopping. I was jealous of you Panera Bread lunch all day! LOL When I bought my new kicks I asked if they had the 3 pocket shorts but they didn't. Oh well. I'll order them online one of these days I guess. I picked up a pair of compression shorts while we were out today though. They are supposed to help decrease soreness. I intend to wear them for LBI. We'll see if they work!

Well, my time is up here. The pizza JUST came. DH is wolfing down a slice or two and then we gotta jet if we are gonna make the move in time.

I'll finish up personals in the morning!

Night ladies!:D

Well, Longwood Gardens was just beautiful today. We had such a great time. We have season passes so we try and go often but we hadn't been there since spring with all the goings on around here with family. Anyway we had a great day. I got up early and did 2.5 miles of just hills.:mad:

Wendy- I did the OD 10 miler two years ago and when I was done I thought to myself one day I would love to do the whole thing. I remember thinking that if I was ever going to do a marathon I couldn't think of a better place then close to the ocean. So this year when I though maybe I can do this that is the place it is going to be. I'm going to do like you and ease up for 6 weeks and then make a decision. Right now I feel like my legs can only take me to the half. I think 6 weeks of easier training will do my legs a lot of good. i know the half I have on Sat is very very hilly which I HATE. When I did the OD 10 miler I didn't train hills at all. The first 10 miles are only 2 bridges and minimal hills, could have been three and then pretty much flat. I don't know about the second 16 miles but it was something I thought I could handle. So if and when we both make up our minds I'll meet you in NJ.

Christine-Eye docotors went pretty good yesterday. My 11 yo is the only one who needed glasses. Knew that though. Dh stayed the same with his sight and the other two girls and I are fine. So that is done for another year.

Cathy- I love love love hearing all about the marathon from you. Did I miss this or is there some place we can check to see how you are doing during the race. Also who else is running this one with you. Anyone. I came into this forum in Aug so I wasn't really familiar with who was doing what and when. Now I know Shelly and Wendy are doing 18 miles in LB, but I don't know where that is. Should have asked long ago. I know Linda is doing one too. Now Carole. This is so exciting. Talk all you want. The festivities sound so good.

That's all I got for now. Have to get the girls to bed or should I say pretending to go to bed.

Almost forgot.

Linda- Good luck tomorrow with the 21 miles.

Oh, one more thing. So the other day ( can't remember now) could have been Cathy who was talking about chafing. Anyway I was thinking while reading whoever wrote that post how lucky I have been not to have had any chafing yet with all the heat these past few weeks. NOT. Well after my 12 miles the other day I jumped in the shower and Heaven Help me.:eek::eek: My inner thighs were pure red pimples. IT burned like I was in hell on fire. So needless to say today I wore long pants and ointment. My chafing luck has run out.

Okay, I know I said I wouldn't be back tonight but what the hey. I'm home from the movie and still awake so I figured I'd finish up personals before heading to bed.

We saw "Righteous Kill" tonight with Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. Good flick. DH's choice. I am willing to give him the credit once in a while! ;)

Anywho...

Gloria: Oh how fun that you are making yourself a work out room. Makes the cleaning out part more bearable huh? LOL We have spare room that we clean out/straighten up every 6 months to a year because even though we swear it won't happen, we end up cluttering it up with crap again! Viscious cycle. It's not worth it to have any "spare" rooms in the house. It's like when you carry a big pocketbook you just fill it up with junk. If you carried a small one with only what you NEED, the junk would have no where to go so it wouldn't be there!:D

Wendi: Hope you feel better after a good night's sleep! Sorry you had to play computer tech on the phone with your boss. Not fun I am sure. Yes, I am P*U*M*P*E*D but also a tad worried. My knee is very sore again so I am cancelling the 3 miler I had on tap for tomorrow. I am thinking I may do my cardio on the elliptical all week to save the knee for the race. I am hoping that will be enough precaution in order to have a fun, safe and pain free 18 miles as well as no abnormal soreness after the fact.

Linda: I need to make myself a playlist of running music. I don't think I'll need it for the race as I'll have the lovely Miss Shelly running with me but there's nothin' like pumpin' tunes when you are running solo to keep you going. I was signing during most of my run today!:D

Karen: Glad you enjoyed your visit to Longwood Gardens today. It's sooo cool that we will probably be doing the same full mary! I think knowing you are doing it too will help me through any rough patches in my training assuming I decide to go for it. :)

Cathy: Did I read a post about a run that did not include any belly aches, bathroom breaks, or aching body parts?? Wow, that's awesome! :D Seems we are all full of "issues" lately. It's nice to hear about a run that went smoothly for once! I must agree, it was PERFECT running weather today. It was a bit windy here as I am by the water and with the cooler temps it made for a chilly start to my run but once I got the first mile under my belt it was just perfect!:) Totally bummed though that my knee is hurting. I iced it before we left for the movie and it seemed to help a bit but I think sitting still for 90 minutes made it stiffen up and feel worse. I'm gonna take ibuprofen and ice it a little more before bed. No run for me tomorrow. In fact, as I told Wendi, I think to be safe I'm sticking with the EXT from now until the race. I want my knee to fresh and ready to go on race day! :)

Good night!
