RE: *** Cheetahs (runners, come & join us!) *** Sept 1s...
Carole :: I was in chip mode, wing mode, fries mode…the anti-thesis of clean eating. Did better today, though. Yeah, this dreary weather really makes me feel nap-ish. Hope you enjoyed today’s workout. The more I do MM, the more I really like it.
Shelly :: Good luck in the 10K if you opt to run it. Thanks for the words of encouragement!!
Christine :: I didn’t run today – mainly because of the chilly rain. Just wasn’t up for a soggy run. I did KPC instead and I must say, I did feel some twinges in my knee and Achilles but nothing too bad. I hope to get out and plug in 4 miles tomorrow. Will use the Stick and massage some of the trigger points tonight.
Adri :: welcome! I saw your post in the Open Discussion forum about whether or not to lift on the same day you kickbox. I kickbox about once a week and find that I am too kaput to lift before or after. But you sound young and energetic, so I’d say as long as you’re feeling good, go for it, and it doesn’t matter which order.
Wendy :: hey, we’ve all been there with first-race nerves…Remember to relax & have fun with it…we know you’ll do great and will be thinking of you…cheering you on in cheetah spirit! I would not do legs tonight if I were you.
Jennifer :: welcome to the thread, and thanks for sharing your story. I always find it interesting to hear how people got in running. For me, it was after my uncle’s sudden death 11 years ago. I flew to Germany for the funeral and did a lot of maniacal bike riding for the 6 weeks or so that I stayed…the physical pain was good somehow. When I came home, I didn’t have a bike anymore and street riding in South Jersey is like having a death wish, anyway. Something just compelled me to run, and I was quickly hooked. I fell out of it around 2000, partly due to Achilles tendonitis. But now I’m back and slowly regaining fitness.
Pamela :: good to see you ‘round here. I go back on Tuesday. In-service on Wednesday as well, and then the kids come back on Thursday. I don’t blame you for turning down the job. Gotta hold out for what you’re worth.
Judy :: great job on that hilly run!
Barb :: well, that’s ONE way to make sure your guests don’t overstay their welcome. lol Hang in there!
Marcia :: way to go on the 4.5 miles! You can hear the renewed determination in your post. Catching—I love it!
Hi to Gayle, Laura, Mattea, Thomasina, Colleen, oh boy...I'm starting to forget names...sorry if I've left anyone out. Have a great night, everyone. It's miserable weather here -- perfect for curling up on the couch. Besides, I need to lay off the Coronas, so I can run in the AM!
