:::: CHEETAHS :::: Rise and SHINE Saturday

Hey Girls.

I'm back from my race. :)

I did pretty well, all things considered. The official results have yet to be posted but I came in somewhere around 28:45!

This is the first time I've done this race. It's an out and back. It's comprised of about a 1 mile on the streets, a mile in a woodsy area on narrow and sort of hilly trails with lots of things to watch out for so ya don't trip (that tends to slow me down cause I'm paranoid of falling!)and the last mile goes back out onto the road for the finish. My garmin says I only ran 2.98 miles and I started it at the gun. We all know I was not AT the starting line when the gun went off so the garmin should've clocked it at a farther distance then 5k. I don't know if the route was mis-measured or if my garmin was off due to the weak signal once I got onto the trails. At any rate, considering it wasn't strictly a flat and fast road race, I am VERY happy with my time! :7

I just lost a long personals post and now I have run out of time!;( x( ;( x(

I'm sorry girls. I'm a dope. I should have copied it before posting but I don't always remember. ACK!

Gotta go. Doubt I'll have time to get back here before I head out for the evening. Have a great one and talk to you in the morning!:)

Gloria...thankfully I have many iClimbs as I like those better than Cardio Coaches for my Elliptical. I use one of my spare rooms for a workout room, but I still do most of the cardio in the living room (bigger TV!). I actually just got the room cleaned up for my New weight bench! Enjoy your circuit and Yoga.

Cathy..I think we would have a blast going on a RT together, although I think my stomach would hurt from the constant laughing...http://bestsmileys.com/lol/1.gif[/img]...

Christine...I love scary movies, but my DH does not, which can be fun...:D..My goodness, you do have some events coming up to keep you occupied!! I am not even close to being that social! Enjoy your bike ride.

Shelly...Wow! Great CTX workout. Yes a bit of rain, and thunder and lightning!!

Wendy...Good job on the 5K!!! Sorry sweetie, you do seem to have some problems with loosing personals...;)

So some rain but WOW the thunder and lightning has been amazing...unfortunately it is causing spot fires in the mountains. Off to do some laundry and then Yoga...

Carole ~ *lol* about you, DH, & the scary movies. I do love a good thunderstorm, but the fires aren't so good. Sorry to hear that. Oh yeah, Thelma & Louise strike again! :)

Wendy ~ Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think you just don't love us anymore. ;) :7 *ha ha* Teasin' ya. Great race! Rock out tonight!

I did only 1/2 of IC Vol. 2 but without any pauses, so I worked up a good sweat just in time for the game!

Shelly: I think that I might die during a workout like that!!!! LOL! :) I hope you get in a nice nap this afternoon. You will get into the routine in no time. Poor DH. That will be nice to live out of the city where you work.

Christine: We have hard wood floors and they get cold in the winter so we felt bad. We are softies. :) That is a serious work out today! Good for you! I am sure you will be speedy on the new bike.

Wendy: Congrats on the race!!! I would be very proud of that time. What are your plans for the evening?

Carole: We have had on and off thunder. It rained for a few minutes and that's it. Hopefully none of the fires get out of control. Which yoga dvds do you like? Thanks for the input on cardio coach. I am doing laundry too.

Ended up doing HSC. That was a fun one. Wow, I can tell I haven't done weights in a while. Better get back on it. It just hurts!!!! LOL! Ok off to do some more laundry and some cleaning after The Next Food Network Star is over. I love this show.

Cathy...thanks re the fires. Also my dog Sadie hides under the bed as the thunder scares her...:(...LMBO at Thelma & Louise!! Sounds like a good sweaty workout. Enjoy the game...I might have to look for a scary movie...:D

Gloria...I like Baron Batiste and Bryan Kest Yoga the best. I know some of the other cheetahs have tried some other instructors too and they may chime in. Glad you enjoyed HSC, that is a fun workout.

Cathy: I put my address on the yahoo group page. I have the Socratic Seminars and Deeper Reading in my shopping cart at Amazon. I don't feel guilty about buying books that will make me better at my job. :)

Shelly – Sounds like a nice long sweaty workout! Hope you get some nap time before your shift starts tonight. I’ll be thinking of ya!

Wendy – YAY!!!! Great time! Especially on a course like that!!

Carole – It’s just funny that everything happens to be on THAT weekend! We’d like to do more, but… Oh well. Thunder, lightening and RAIN? WOW! We certainly don’t have that. Poor Sadie. Hope the fires get put out quickly. We have ANOTHER one in Watsonville this time (between Santa Cruz and Monterrey). It’s ridiculous any more.

Cathy – Enjoy the game!! I actually like working out to a paper workout – I can take as long or as short of rests as I want. :+

Gloria – Too cute – I love to see animals so well treated. I soo love my new bike! I do love HSC. Glad you had fun!

Well, the ride is done. I did a 17 miler with lots of hills outside, then came in an added another 15 miles. It was a little over 2.5 hours. I finished it all off with Tony’s Awaken the Body (thanks Wendy!), and I’m feeling pretty darned good. I am tired, though. It’s 95 at noon, so we’ll have another triple digit day here. Fortunately, riding a bike creates it’s own breeze so it wasn’t as bad riding as it would have been running. Of course, now I’m thinking that I need a cute cycling outfit for the ride… :+ Oh and I do have to say, I LOVE my new bike! I was telling DH that the difference between this one and my old one is like the difference between my old Jeep Wrangler and DH’s new Lexus. THAT big. I’m so thrilled with it! Off to shower and shop! Have a great day all!

Ah, wait – it’s RAINING!!! No clouds in the sky, but it’s raining. Welcome to California. THANKS Carole for sending it our way!

It's getting humid here again...Christine, I thought you said it would be 3 weeks?!? http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/meltsmile.gif

Carole...awww, poor Sadie! Is it still thunderboomin'?

Gloria...Love HSC! Hey, I knew what you meant. :)

Christine...The new bike sounds awesome! I can deal with working out from paper, but I definitely prefer the vids, and I'm just not feelin' it at the moment. But as mentioned, I'm just being fickle is all. :7 I do think TT is solid.

Russia beat the favorite Netherlands 3-1 in an exciting OT match. I must stop the CABs now, so I don't fall apart on my über-early AM run. Boooo! That's no fun!

Cathy: I figured you knew what I meant, but I don't like making mistakes! LOL! :) I forgot to mention yay on getting in the workout! HSC is a good workout. I think that will be one I do often. It's not super hard, but I know I will be in pain tomorrow from my lack of weight work lately. How early are you running tomorrow? Wishing you good vibes on that one. That is unfortunate about the CABS. }( Off to fire up the grill.

I'm laughing because I have no idea what you mean, said one teacher to the other. :p :7 I think I'd better leave at 5. Probably should set the alarm. I just caught the weather now, and they are calling for t'storms for tomorrow--just don't know when. Hope not the AM 'cuz there is no way I can do 11 miles on the TM! No idea what I would do for Plan B. Yes, CABs + soccer = a natural mix for me. :7 They were goin' down smoOoOoth...Really? I think the squats @ the end of HSC are killer!

Cathy: You are too funny! If I were you I would check the hourly forecast. We use www.noaa.gov/ It is the National Weather Service and they are usually quite accurate. Intellicast.com is also a good one. Maybe if the weather is uncooperative tomorrow you could do your run on Monday. I know it throws the schedule off, but that is life. I could never run 11 miles on the treadmill! My DH was a big soccer player in high school. Not so much of an athlete now. It's crazy because when we hiked the mountains out in Montana he whipped my a#@ up those buggers! He doesn't even work out! WTH! Don't get me wrong, HSC wasn't easy by any means. I was hurtin through it. The cardio was easy for me, but I did not do all the reps for the weight work. When Cathe said show your teeth you bet I did!!!
