:::CHEETAHS:::Quit your moanin' Monday

gwd

Cathlete
Good morning loverlies!

I'm the one who needs to quit her moanin' this morning. I was so psyched to go out for a nice long run this morning, especially since it's the last chance I'll get to run for a week or so and I wake up to raindrops :(. The *one* day, sheesh! Oh well, we *desperately* need the rain here so I'm actually quite happy about it, but couldn't it have waited a day or two???

So now I'm not sure what I'm going to do this morning....some kind of circuit?, or long steady state step followed by ME?, probably some abs as well? I feel like I'm trying to order my last supper because this will be my only workout until Sunday or Monday and I want to make it a goodie }( }(! Any thoughts?

Cathy - Eh, my days only look like a lot on paper ;). How's the knee this morning? I hope it's just a bit of stiffness that will work it's way out today. Today is a rest/yoga day for you, right?

Gonna go get some java, some Aleve, and peruse the forums for a minute. BBIAM!

Oooh, ooh, ooh, I think I've got it!!! I'll start with DM Scrambled Cardio Blast and then folllow that up with BC/ME Bonus Combo. Heehee, let's see if I survive this one *insert evil laugh* }(!

Good morning, cheetahs! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif

Wendi :: my knee feels OK this morning, thankfully. :) It's actually that little bony knob just below and to the outside of the knee. Never had an ache there before http://forums.naturalparenting.com.au/images/smilie/scratchchin.gif ...Yeah, today is normally a rest day, but I kind of like how things worked this past week when I took my rest day the day before the long run, so I think I'll do that again...Have you ever tried running in the rain? It's refreshing in the summertime. Enjoy your workout! I don't know that BC/ME bonus combo, but you are not making me want to try it. *lol*

I am back to work this week. Doing some rotation jumbling here, so no rest day today for me. Tonight will be k'bells and either the EXT or kbx.

Have a great day, everyone!

hi all! checkin' in from sunny aruba! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_1_16.gif

so far, it's been pretty relaxing. they have an awesome gym here. yesterday, i got all dressed loaded up my mp3 with istregnth, cc, and itread, went to put on my running shoes...and...NO SHOES!!! i mistakenly left them home!!! i had EVRYTHING to work out (even brought my hrm in case i wanted to use it) and didn't have my shoes. i was fuming. so, i realized i could still do weights and i downloaded istrenth set 20 boxing and went to the gym wearing DEAN'S running shoes!!! i stuffed them with socks at the top and probably looked like such a dork until i started working out. here's the thing (and probably one of the main reasons i stopped working out at gyms), when a girl goes over to the free weights ither the guys look st her with pity like she doesn't know what she's doing, or they want to help you. since i had my mp3 on (and nick's sexy voice in my ear), i just pretended not to notice if someone spoke to me. anyway, i think once they saw that i actually knew what i was doing, they were a tad surprised. also, after watching the video that comes with the istrength boxing, i had an idea of what i was doing with that and i got some looks. i thought the boxing was a GREAT workout and i have some DOMS to prove it! so, i spent about an hour and a half in the gym then headed to the pool/beach.

i thought we would have free internet in the rooms, but turns out it's $24/2 days, so i may not be on again. i would try to do personals, but i haven't been on the boards to read anything since i posted friday morning. x( :( x(

i am plannign on going to the gym today with a cc and doing the ext. dean and i are going to go into town today (they have GREAT shopping) and see about getting me some shoes (they have a new balance store and i'm sure some others). the LAST thing i need is ANOTHER pair of workout shoes. why couldn't i have forgotten something i actually need to replace?! oh well...

i will try to check in again. i want to download a few photos i took.

miss you all!!!

Good Morning Peeps.

Never got back here last night. After my work out I had to move my arse to get out of the house for MIL's on time. I could have used a nap but didn't have a chance for one so by the time we got home last night, I was pooped. I put DS right to bed when we got home and lazed around for about an hour on the couch until heading for bed. I also slept later then usual this morning so I have no time to catch up on personals right now.

I quickly skimmed Christine's race report and just wanted to send another congrats her way! How awesome to be doing an event with Lance! Glad you enjoyed it! :+

OMG do I have DOMS this morning! Everything hurts, I swear! Gotta love it!}( Today will be cardio only. I won't be able to hit the TM as I have to work and have bowling tonight so I'll see what dvd appeals to me when I get home later.

Time is a tickin' .... gotta go .... BB after work!:)

Good morning lovely cheetahs! Well, my run yesterday was pretty tough and I ended up only doing 7 miles.... was absolutely soaked!
Should have started earlier. I had very very little sleep the day and night before and had done tough workouts.... just too much for this old bod. Well, after supper I did 30 min of HLext to make up for it. Was pretty exhausted all yesterday and wasn't very good company for my in-laws I'm afraid. Well, DH kept them company while I read and napped a bit. Felt better after that. It's a new day now and I'm feeling restored:) In a bit I'll be doing HiLo Knockout.

Carole- There are actually wild turkeys in the area of our new property in Pa. Hopefully they will be mild mannered! Wow, down to only one lake unaffected by fires to choose from for your trail run yest? How sad! And this one lake run was also affected by the smoke... I'm sure it was what curtailed your run!

Christine- WTG!!!!! Absolutely loved your race report!! That is so great that the event had a record for fundraising! Really makes me feel proud of the people that make up this great country that in these "tough" (relatively) times the folks all still come through. Sounds like you came thru strong.... KUDOS!

Wendy- Happy Bday to your DH... wow, that's alot of celebrating!! Did you get him something special for a present? I would think KB workouts really hit the core much better then most and I guess you are living proof of that! How is it today?

Dallas- What a treat for the day.... started me out right when I saw you were back with us!!!!! HUGE cyber {{{{{hug}}}} for ya! Sorry you are dealing with chaffing issues!
Still keeping up the runs with TNT?

Cathy- Wow, you should get some kind of an award for posting all that on that teeny blackberry!! Must feel great to have a real computer again! Awesome performance on that 13 miler!!! woohoooo... getting into some SERIOUS mileage now! Great strategy to have a rest day prior to a long run.

Gloria- Sounds like you had a fun fulfilling weekend. Has Ellie recovered yet from the puppy assault?

Wendi- I'm sure you are making the most of your day off! That is really telling just how exhausting your job/lifestyle is that you fell asleep at work! Love your thread title today.... it is so you!! I think the workout you picked out will more then compensate for that lost opportunity for a long run!!

Lorie- Great to see you posting and that you are having a great time in Aruba! Got a kick out of reading about your workout. That sux that the internet usage isn't free.... pretty typical of a resort tho... they have to soak you for every bit they can get! Looking forward to those pics!

That's about it for me for now. Gonna get the butt in gear now.
I'll be insurance shopping today (for the new home) and will go out on a boat ride again with DH if the weather cooperates.

Hiya all!

Workout is done and it was just the ticket. I didn't get to the abs section because the phone rang but I did the DM cardio portions, all of the UB work and push ups on the BOSU so I guess that can count as core work. Now I'm sitting down and enjoying my yummy bfast and then will start house cleaning in a few.

Cathy - Glad that the knee is a-okay this morning but, you're right, that *is* an odd place for an ouchie. I think your idea of haveing your rest day before your long run is a brilliant one! I love the ME/BC bonus combo! Here's the rundown, in case you're interested ;)...

BC Warmup
BC Cardio #1 (Jack Series)
BC Squats
BC Deadrows
ME Deadlifts
ME Deadrow/Clean and Press

BC Cardio #? (Sumo Squats)
BC Static Lunges
ME Leg Press (2 Sets)
ME Bicep Curls

BC Cardio #? (Sequential Power Kicks)
BC Front/Side Kicks
BC Military Press
ME Rear Delt Raises
ME Side Lateral Raises

BC Cardio #8 (Jack and Jab)
BC Plie Squats
ME Leg Press (2 Sets)
ME Squats
ME Tricep Dips
ME Tricep Kickbacks
ME Chest Flys
BC Push Ups
ME Abs
ME Stretch

It's 66 minutes total and really keeps my HR up there with all that leg work.

Lorie - Glad you were able to get in a fantastic workout, despite your wardrobe issues...that bites x(. ITA about the *looks* from the guys at the gym. I used to get that a lot when I was doing 4DS at the gym with my friend...that is until I picked up the 40# DB for pullovers }(. So happy to hear that you're having a lovely time...you are so due for some good times! Good luck shopping!

Wendy - Hope work flies by for ya today. Heehee, have fun bowling with the DOMS tonight...yeowch :p }(!

Let me get this posted, finish scarfing down by bfast, and then it's off to tackle CleanMax. Have a great day ladies!

Hi Shellers! You snuck in there while I was typing away. Uh, considering the lack of sleep and the workouts you put in every day, that's a lot for any *human* to take. I don't think I could ever get through a typical week for you . Great job pushing through those tough 7 miles! I give you a ton of credit for even running in that soup yesterday...it was NOT nice, blech x(! Just glad to hear that you're feeling a bit re-energized this morning! Have fun with HLK.

ETA: BTW, I fell asleep on the concrete floor with a kitten on my chest...how bad is that LOL!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Wendi – Thanks! It was a great ride! Dallas’ loved ones were on my back – I wanted to let her know I was able to add them to my list of people. I did not say that very well, though. :p. Okay, I won’t moan today, but I will tomorrow, is that okay? *winks* So sorry to hear your run is off due to rain! That sucks! That’s too funny (and sad) about the Last Workout. Hope things calm for you soon! I love the BC/ME combo!

Cathy – Cheers! Thanks for joining me in a après bike beer! Rant actually sounds pretty interesting. Is this a book that pulls you while keeping you confused? :p You know what I mean. Glad your knee feels better! Are you teaching this week? For how long?

Lori – no fair making us all jealous!! Oh that sucks that you forgot your shoes! By the way – saying that you don’t need shoes is sacrilege! We ALWAYS need shoes!! :+ Sounds like you’re having a great time!! Enjoy shopping! Lovely pic!! I love the Caribbean. Have a great time!

Wendy – Thanks for the congrats! Enjoy your DOMS! :p

Shelly – Glad you’re feeling refreshed! It has to be tough going back and forth between various environments, dealing with humidity for the first time in a long time, AND being expected to be entertaining. I’m glad you were able to nap and read. You needed it! Glad you enjoyed the race report. I know what you mean about these tough times, and folks coming through. I have done fund raising before, but this was easier. I think it’s because cancer touches so many people. And this is a cause to believe in and support. And who isn’t proud as heck that Lance is an American (and MAN is he cute!!! So much better looking in person!).

I’m not so much sore as exhausted! I had a great night’s sleep and still cannot seem to wake up! I’m going to take a rest day today. :p Guess my body isn’t used to going 4 hours straight. :p It had better get used to it. End of September I’ll be doing a 72 miler. Oh, and my back is great! No twinges, nothing, so I’m thrilled with that too. I didn’t mention in my report, but I earned myself the nickname “Beast” on the hills. I earned it by passing people while going up hill and holding a conversation with another rider. I attribute it to doing heavy weights with my legs (which are added back this week!). I thought that was funny. :p

DD15 is having a good time doing rescue, although they lost a baby bird who fell into his water dish and got cold. They warmed him up as best they could, but they lost him to hypothermia. That was hard on her, but she’s still looking forward to helping more animals. I have to get ready for our Sales BootCamp this week. ICK! There is little I hate more than BootCamp. It’s 4 days of stress. It starts tomorrow. Oh well, this, too shall pass. Have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...No, I have not gotten any pic's of the bomber. Yes the ward work did work me well. It is always a good feeling to see the results. How is the knee feeling today? Back to work?? Enjoy your workout this evening.

Lorie...Awesome pic!!! Looks beautiful there. So sorry you forgot your running shoes, but I would be happy getting to buy some new ones!!

Wendi...LOL about the turkey, I really do not like him! The scenery was good for the run yesterday, although this lake is way down so we don't see the water like we used to. Thanks re the yardwork, I felt like I accomplished something. Sounds le a nice nap in the barn yesterday..:)..Great workout today!

Shelly...actually most wild turkeys are not like THIS one! I bet you will have no problems with the ones on your new property. Sorry you were a bit zapped yesterday. I was too as you know with my run, but felt better after a shower and breakfast. Good luck with insurance shopping. Hope you have a nice boat ride with Dh if that happens.

Gloria..hope you get your car back today.

Christine...sounds like the bike ride went well. Loved reading the email...:D. That was so cool Lance was there and riding. You did great on the hills!! Sad about DD15's team loosing the little bird. Hope your stress week goes by lickety split!

Today I will do a short 3 mile run as I am going to try for 4 days of running. I will also do P90X Back & Biceps and ARX.

Have a great day...:)

Cathy - Forgot to mention that I do love to run in a *light* rain but it was really pouring and my glasses don't come with windshield wipers :+.

Morning Girls!

Just can't get up early to work out lately....too tired. I have 3-4 miles planned, upper body weights, & floor work (legs). That should be about an hour and a half...**I think**. DH is off this week, so he can hang out with the kids while I'm working out.:)

Christine ~ High Five!!!! Loved reading your race report. How cool Lance was doing the same event! Glad you got the e-mail to add the names....thank you!!!:* How are you feeling today? Which Big Sur race are you doing....***thinking*** how cool would THAT be!??!?! :D

Carole ~ Nice workout plan. :) So, what does one do with a "wild, mean turkey" LOL Great job pushing through your run w/that horrible air quality. Ahhhh, I got the Aquaphor! Thanks. :) Thanks for the help w/my leg workout question. I think I'll keep it freestylish for now and then get back to heavy in August.

Wendi ~ Nice workout! I like that premix too. Have fun w/the CleanMax. ;-) Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts. (((HUGS)))

Lorie ~ Love that picture! IA w/Wendi...LOL! j/k Sounds like you're having a wonderful time, and you're even managing your workouts. WTG!

Shelly ~ You put a smile on my face...thank you! Yes, still running w/TNT. The race is in August so it's definitely doable. The running, as you can relate, is so therapeutic. :) I did my first 10 miler in the pouring rain Sat. :) I was quite happy with it. Great job on your run...you've had a lot going on there w/the double move, etc.

Wendy ~ Enjoy your DOMS! }( Hope work is uneventful. :)

Gloria ~ Did you enjoy your rest day y-day? What's your favorite show?

Cathy ~ Healing {{{{VIBES}}}} for your knee. Thanks about the Balmex. I couldn't find it, but did find the Aquaphor. It's been awhile since I had diapers and creams in the house. LOL! Didn't make that connection. ;-)

Hi to the rest of the Cheetahs!

Have to shake a leg here! ;-)

Good morning Cheetahs!

No time for personals. But, I did want to congratulate Christine on an awesome ride yesterday! Quite an experience for you.

Yesterday was a rest day. Today I did S&H C&B. Went heavier than Cathe for most of the exercises. Left of 1 set of deadlifts and shortened the rest time so that I could get to work on time. Felt really strong.

It's Monday and I need to get back to work. Enjoy your day! Will chat with you later.

Jackie

Good Afternoon Cheetah Babes!:D

Just finished my work out and WHOA NELLY, I must have been in a sadistic mood today!}(

KickMax Blast Challenge, High Step Challenge cardio 2,4,5 and High Step Training cardio 1,3,5. All in all it was about 30 minutes of SMOKIN' cardio! It was like HIIT and PLYO combined!

I'm thoroughly pooped. Don't know how I'm gonna manage at bowling tonight. My only hope is that the Coors Lights energize me. :p

Wendi: Sorry about this morning's rain but you certainly have no problem coming up with evil mish-moshes that will rival ANY run!}(

Cathy: Which bell work out did you choose? Are you inspired to get crazy on the beach with Keith today or what!? }( I actually have to block out the fact that he is doing that work out in the sand cause when I see him covered in it, it skeeves me to no end. When I go to the beach I do everything possible to keep sand OFF of me and this guy looks like he rolled in it by the time the work out is done. Thinking about it gives me the heebie-jeebies!LOL

Shelly: I haven't gone shopping for DH's Birthday gift yet but I know what I want and I am HOPING it's easy to find. I will go tmrw or Wednesday. Nothing like waiting til the last minute, ey? LOL Hope you got in that boat ride. How did the insurance shopping go?

Christine: Enjoy your rest day. You deserve it. So they called you the Beast? LOL That's cute. Sorry about DD15 and the baby bird. How sad. :-( So what the heck is sales bootcamp???

Carole: So how did you manage with a 4 day of running? Hope you enjoyed your X work out. So DH doesn't mind Birdzilla, huh? Sorry, I guess you can't make stew outta him just yet then. :7

Dallas: Quite a work out you have planned there. Hope you were able to get it all in.

Jackie: Nice S&H work out this morning. Hope work isn't too busy for you. Mondays should be illegal. :p

Gloria: Did you stay awake for your favorite show last night? Which one is it? I would have missed it. I was snorning by 10pm. :p

Looks like that catches me up with personals. Off to the showers now.

Not sure I'll be back again so have a great night ladies!:7

Dallas...no need to work out early!..:)..glad DH is home to help with the kids. I just try and avoid the turkey. Thanks re my run. I love Aquaphor, it really seems to help the dry skin areas besides the chafing. Enjoy your run, upper body and leg workout.

Jackie...Way to go with S&H!! It feels good to be strong doesn't it!

Wendy...quite the kick butt cardio workout! LMBO about Coors Light energizing you..:D..This will be my 1st week of running 4 days.

It was nice to get back to some heavy lifting with Back & Biceps. I tried to go as heavy as I could so tomorrow could be a DOMS day!

Afternoon, cheetahs! :)

Lorie :: Wow! Whatta sky! *lol* about the goggles.

Shelly :: I definitely hear you on the need to hit the streets early. Glad the nap & some relaxation recharged you...*lol* about the geek phone...I just HAD to get my cheetah fix...it's actually pretty user-friendly...hope the weather was conducive for some time on the water.

Wendi :: Good God! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_zz22_yikes.gif "Bonus" is not the word that comes to mind when I look at that breakdown! *lol*... :) about the windshield wipers. I hear you--I prefer light rain also. You managed to fall asleep on a CONCRETE floor???

Christine aka The Beast :: *lol* Love it! So proud of our cheetah passing folks UPHILL!
http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_urthewoman.gif
Wonderful to hear about your back being pain-free!...Sorry about DD15's lost baby bird. :(...I sent another follow-up email to Lance's peeps, and things are now in place--finally! Would you believe I contacted them in the very beginning of May, just a few weeks after I registered for the marathon? Apparently, the marathon coordinator left, so I guess that's why the ball was dropped. Anyway, I'm a little nervous about being able to raise the minimum, but I'll do my best and am prepared to make up the difference if not...Rant has definitely captured my interest. It reminds me a lot of Joyce Carol Oates' work--strong voice, quirky characters, dark, unexpected...I am doing curriculum writing today through Wednesday. (Today was a teeth-gnasher as we learned we had to reformat and redo much of the previous work.) Thursday I'll be in a facilitator training class for NBs.

Carole :: My knee is fine today--back to normal. :) I guess some random bone aches are just part of the deal as mileage increases... I am working through Thursday this week, and after that, I'm off again. Apparently, I did not make the cut for the other committee I was hoping for. *lol*...How long has it been since you ran 4 days? I take it you are feeling good n' healthy! That's great! Funny, I was just fiddling with the notion of how many days I should run. I've been doing three, but I'm wondering if four would be better. Any thoughts?...I'm a fan of Aquaphor, too. I *lived* off the stuff when I was on Accutane and my lips were fried off. Good product...I really enjoy lifting heavy, too...As if the fires and smoke weren't enough, I heard on the news about the mudslides. :( I really hope you guys are cut a break soon!

Dallas :: :7 Oh my bad! I thought mentioning Balmex would be like asking you if you'd ever heard of Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo. *lol*. I have also used the Aquaphor and like it equally...My knee is fine today. Guess it was just some post-run stiffness...Hope you enjoyed your workout.

Jackie :: Wow! Heavier than Cathe is sure impressive. Love those days when you feel strong. Sounds like a busy Monday at work for you.

Wendy :: Oh yeah, you are definitely some kind of masochist, but at least you're not alone with this group (myself excluded). :7...I didn't think yet about which kb workout I will do. Snorted at the comments about Keith and the sand. I always get a kick out of "The Man Maker," which I feel compelled to say out loud in a really strange accent. :) It's true I haven't done that workout in awhile...so hmmm, perhaps.

BBL!

Hi Friendly Cheetahs

I have not read any posts prior to today since last Monday or Tuesday.

Christine- your event was this weekend ? I will go back and read your report. But congrats on finishing and earning such an awesome nickname. It must have been special to meet Mr. Armstrong.

Cathy- are you up to 13 mile runs? Whoa nelly!!!

Hi Dallas!!!! I hope your famiy is doing better :)

Wendi- IA agree about a light rain run. The BC/ME bonus mix was a favorite of mine for a while.

Jackie- Hi!!!

Carole- 4 days running! I hope it works out, and I think it will with all the crosstraining you have been doing.
h
Hi Lori in Aruba !!!!!!

Today's workouts was NROL4W 4B and an iTrain: iSprint 16 sections A & B (TM sprints and bike sprints) total time about 70 minutes. I have two workouts left in stage 4 then I will make a decision. It has been 40 workouts so far on this program. There are more 8 in stage 5 if I continue, then stage 6 which I will skip, and stage 7 which is totally different. I am anxious to get out of the heavy weight phase.

We were on the move nonstop during our trip to Boston. We watched DS15 play 5 hockey games, (they went 4 wins 1 loss. The loss was against an older team) And we did 3 tours of schools for DD & DS. I was glad to get home last night.

OK I'm going to look around the forums for a bit and then watch the home run derby with DS.
