:: CHEETAHS :: Pumped on Hump Day!

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs-- :)

Sounds like a Dr. Seuss thread. :p In a bad sleep pattern here. I hope I can post this and grab a couple hours of shuteye. Yesterday I did NOT run. My feet were in agony. I decided I would run on the TM to reduce the impact, went to rest for a bit first, and passed out completely. I have not yet re-adapted to these high-paced, high-energy days. I'll get there. Will hit the TM this morning and hopefully I can get outside tomorrow and Friday.

Wendi :: A 14-hour day is nothin' to you, lady! :) No crisis Monday. Just juggling all that we have to sort through in the opening weeks of school, TL responsibilities, and a change in lesson plans. Didn't help that I'd moved one of my files, couldn't find it, and had to create a document from scratch. Of course, I remembered where it was yesterday morning. DOH! *lol* Well, that's definitely incentive to keep up on the haircuts & color!! I hear you on the MP3. I do run with my iPod, but I am hyper-aware of my surroundings. I keep the volume low and run with only one earbud. *lol* about the bears and guinea pigs! So, they're still roaming wild? Scary about the break-ins.

Wendy :: I had a couple of near wipeouts in the hallway--the floor is still VERY waxed up from the opening preparation. Turning a corner can be deadly. :) I've been pretty lucky here, but I had a couple of good spills in my old school, and yes, they were funny. I wish I had worn the senior citizen shoe. I wore the new Clarks yesterday, and my feet were not happy at the end of the day. There's definitely more going on here than just aching from spending the day on my feet, so I gotta figure out how to dress professionally and be better to my feet. Glad you're enjoying the new hip clip. I use an arm band but would be interested in checking that out. Where did you find it?

Judy :: I posted the snakeskin shoes on Sunday's thread, if you feel like going back. Nine West. Very cute. I'm so glad your foot felt good yesterday and the stretches are working. I scoped out the book on Amazon and added it to my shopping list...Nice shoe. I bet the stretch fabric would be kind to our bunions. The thought of LL makes me shudder. *lol* Tough combo--great job!

Christine :: I like bi & tri work, so if it's overkill in LIC, I likely wouldn't notice. DD15 catching a cold?...I forgot to mention I thought the little hedgehog was cute, too. Made me smile even though I have to admit I don't know what a hedge fund is exactly. :)

Carole :: wow on the 40! That's some serious mileage! Thank you for the taper advice. Much appreciated. I am seriously thinking about the headlamp and getting back to morning runs because my energy takes such a dip in the afternoon...On the nutrition program, where did you set your activity level? Ack on the poison oak! Any better today?

Jackie :: *lol* Stilettos? I wouldn't even try! That would be a sure way to land myself in a neck brace. Great job keeping up with the runners! You make me want to not be so slow. :) I wonder if I'll ever get back down to where I was. "Course, I know the answer. I have to get the SCALE back down to where it was.

Karen :: What a tremendous help to your dad to be squared away with the meals. Glad mom's in good spirits.

Dallas :: ouch on the blisters! Stings like heck when the band-aids come off as you're trying to work out...So, the cheetahs suspected correctly that the stress was causing the stomach issues. I hope you get a handle on it quickly, but it can be challenging to manage stress. How can you NOT worry in your situation? I know when my sister was first separated and going through her divorce, she ended up with a fierce case of IBS. Even when you're not as conscious of your stress, it does take a physical toll in various ways.

Have a most excellent hump day!

Hi Cheetahs!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. Hope all are getting in some good workouts. I have been really busy. Still have the cold, but am attempting to run this morning. Hopefully I can get back with some personals soon.

Take care everyone! :)

Gloria :: Feel you on the busy-ness. Sounds like you are not letting that cold keep you down, though. Rock on!

Never did fall back to sleep, but I got some schoolwork done and plodded :) on the TM for 30 minutes. Feel better now that I've run!

Off to get cleaned up. :)

Good morning loverlies!

Had a quick minute to stop in before heading out for a nice 5ish miler. Man, oh, man is it dark...TG I've got a little moonlight out there;).

So Biggest Loser was a bit disappointing. I found it a bit over the top (especially Jillian who I usually like) and grew a bit tired of the your-face-scare-tactics. Yes, these people do need to change their ways but I thought it was a bit overdone. Of course the weight lost the first week was insanely high but that's to be expected.

Jackie - Glad to hear that it seems your alarm situation may be straightened out.

Judy - Yeah, you're right about the sedentary person vs. the active person. Maybe I can find a way to fiddle with it and get all my cals burned in there somewhere. Well done on LL....did Carole inspire you to do it?

Cathy - Uggh, sorry you woke up soooooo early this morning. Great job using that time to your fullest advantage. I'm sure you'll crash early tonight though. That's always the way (regarding that missing file)...sorry you had to recreate the darned thing. Hope the madness slows down for ya soon!

Gloria - Busy bee! Go easy with that cold, eh?

Must get moving if I want to get this run in. Hopefully I'll have time to pop back in before work. Happy humpdiddly hump day!

Gotta get over the 15 mile hump today! YIKES!

Hello Girls. How is everyone this morning?

Cathy: Awwww sorry you couldn't get back to sleep. Smart thinkin' to do some runnin' on the TM since you were awake though. This way if ya crash after work you don't have to worry. :) I have had some close calls with slippery floors in my time. I actually went down in step class at the gym one time. I probably told the cheetahs that story back when it happened. It was quite comical though I was paranoid after that so I just stopped taking the class altogether. I found the hip clip for my Ipod at Best Buy. It is being sold with a $15.00 Itunes card for $30.00. Not a bad deal IMO. It's leather (or SUPPOSED to be anyway. LOL). I saw it a long time ago at Best Buy but didn't buy it for some (stupid) reason and just now saw it in stock again so I grabbed it w/o hesitation this time. ;)

Wendi: Scarey about those break ins. Be careful!!!!! So didja come across any wildlife during this morning's run? :D So did I read right that you did away with the red look? What color are you now?

Gloria: Shake that cold girl!!!!:)

Well, I'm off to get more coffee. I'll be back after my run at some point. DS has a half day at school today so I won't even have time for a nap after my run before I have to shower and pick him up this afternoon. I will DEFINATELY be napping when he naps this afternoon!!!! ;)

Oh, and another purchase I haven't told you about yet! I finally got a new fuel belt. It has 4 containers for liquids and 4 storage areas for other stuff. I tired it on and it seems like it will be super comfy. I will don it today for the first time during my run. I'm excited! I'll let ya know how I like it. :D

That's all for now....BBL!

Hiya!

Got in a decent 6.3 miles. So much for 5, right lol. Have had better runs, have had worse but it was still nice to get out there on this beautifully crisp morning and to run by moonlight, no less, for the first part.

Wendy - Nope, still red, just not orange...the color is a bit deeper when I first get it done. The color was still pretty good during the RT but it started to oxidize since...being outside all day under direct sun doesn't help. Only saw a few herds of deer and a cute black cocker spaniel that, in the dark, I, of course thought was a bear cub:rolleyes:. I actually saw the gorgeous 12 point buck that roams around here....so glad there's no hunting within city limits so he's safe here:). Have fun with the new toy today!

Gotta motor...see yas tonight!

Remember me?

Hello all! MIA cheetah slinking into the den wearing a totally guilty expression!! I've been quite busy with my final relocation and job preparation. But to be truthful I was just feeling too overwhelmed lately
to even check in for a quickie update.... please forgive!!

Well, Philadelphia is history! YAY. :D I am definitely NOT a city cheetah! It was an interesting good experience tho for me all in all. Very happy to be back in the countryside again! I did a 15 mile run on Sunday and it really took alot out of me. Still pretty wiped out from everything I guess. I'm feeling much more like my old self tho lately:) Getting this house more squared away and today I'll start repainting in earnest! Yesterday I went in for my preemployment health screening. By FAR the most comprehensive I've been through, but no worries there... I'm healthier then your average 20 something thanks to Cathe and running!
I guess the last I checked in I was still waiting to hear from my future employer about the job. Obviously they did offer it to me and I very happily accepted. I'll be starting next Monday.

I got in a pretty nice 5 mile TM run after coming back and then DH and I finished putting together our new home gym. I bit the bullet and went for the expense because DH swears he is going to get serious and get in shape... so it was worth it! After that I did Rumble with Amy. This was the first time I was able to do it with all my workout gear available, including my heavy bag! WOW!!!!:eek: Makes a huge difference and I was sweating just as much as if I had just done an interval run! Only my upper body was worked just as hard too!

I'll be heading out soon for a 4-5 mile run. There are some pretty good hills I'm dealing with around here. I guess that's why my last 15 miler was hard... getting used to the hills again! Philly got me a a tad spoiled that way I guess. I'll be doing some weight work later today. I may break in the new gym:)

I'll be back for personals later!

Missed ya.... and again I apologize sincerely for being incommunicado!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...very cute thread title! Sorry about the bad sleep patterns and the sore feet. I kinda thought running would be tough for you the 1st few weeks of school. But not to worry as you have been training well...:)...Maybe running earlier for you will be better during the week. Yes 40 weekly miles is up there and can be grueling, but I enjoyed pushing my body. On Cathe's nutrition program my activity level is "Very Active" I usually eat at the high end of the calorie range. I think the poison oak is better today, but yesterday it was maddening.

Gloria...sorry about the cold, hope you feel better soon.

Wendy...luckily my legs are fine this morning! I agree about people starting out on dieting that the sodium is not really their issue, unless of course it bloats them. I also had the occasional frozen dinner now and then, but now I always try and cook my meals. Good job on the new fuel belt. Once you find a comfy one it makes all the difference.

Wendi...no, I do not have a mary in mind yet. Way to go with the 3.96 GPA! My niacin has been better since I quit my Multi vitamin...:)..I have to say I really enjoyed Imax & LL. Glad you enjoyed your moonlight 6.3 mile run.

Shelly...no need to worry about being MIA...you have been busy!! Glad things are done in Philly. I sure wish my DH would commit to some tye of exercise. Kudos to Jerry!! Sounds like you enjoyed Rumble...The new gym sounds fabulous!

Jackie...I have known people to do well on Nutri System, I just never thought about the sodium. I am sure 2400 is what I was eating daily before starting Cathe's program. Has you DBF has good results? My opinion of most of the popular diets out there is they have one thing in common "reduced calorie intake" Good job with the iTread sprints and Windsor workout. That is good the Alarm company fixed things...:)

Judy...I did put in your tracking site that I was an active exerciser. Which is why I thought just 1200 was too low for loosing weight. I do not add back in my exercise cals, at least not til the weight is gone. Good job with LL and ME upper.

Karen...way to go with the 7 mile tempo run. That sounds like a long day with Dad...:)

Dallas...sorry about the blisters! Ouch! Was it a new shoe? You have ben doing some good workouts lately. I didn't get to watch much FB after my long run. I did watch some of the Packer game (the new QB is a local guy). I also watched the end of the SD/Denver game and was pissed. I have never seen/heard a ref blow the whistle in the middle of a fumble???? I read they marked the ref down for that call and YES, SD should have won! I even think the salt we use sometimes on our food never comes close to the amount in frozen or packaged foods, as sodium is a preservative there.

Well the itching from the poison oak was about unbearable yesterday. I don't think I have ever had it this bad. My right arm has most of it and I tried everything last night over the counter anti itch meds, bleach, ammonia...Finally a Technu wash and plain calamine lotion seemed to cut the itch...yuk! Today will be 4DS C&B, abs and a 4-5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning strong Cheetah women! :D

Wendi - Don't blame you for being more aware of your surroundings with the break ins. I expect those to get worse in days to come. Nice spread you carry around in that cooler. At least we know we're getting something healthy when we pack our lunches. Whereas, the co-workers are running out to fast food places. My tummy couldn't take it on a daily basis. So, are you driving with your knees while you're eating that oatmeal and egg whites? :p I watch BL when I can remember it's on. Good job on the 5 miles!

Judy - Good job with the workout!

Cathy - Sorry for the sleep issues. Hope you settle down and can get some good quality z's in. Poor feet! Maybe another couple weeks and you'll be in the groove again. Most of the time I can only keep up with the runners if Grace has pity on me and gives me a little break. You'll get there! Just keep chugging away. Good job on the run today!

Gloria - Glad you feel well enough for a run. Do any of the kids have a cold?

Wendy - Cool on the fuel belt. Wish I had gone for the one that holds 4 small bottles instead of one big one. Know you loved it!

Shelly - Definitely understand about being overwhelmed with the move. Glad you finally got some time to chat. So, you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl? :p Glad you're enjoying your runs. Congratulations on the new job! Yep, you're one healthy cheetah! Glad the gym is worth it. Good luck with DH using it.

Carole - DBF did lose 10 pounds initially with Nutri System. He could lose more but he's not that committed to changing up his exercise routine. Body is use to what he's doing. He needs to get in the gym more and lift some heavier weights. The heaviest he has is 20#. What is that for a man? All he does now is walk the same old 4 miles and does some of the rotations I do for him. Guess he's maintaining and that's about it. But, he does do something and that's the main thing. Hope the itch clears up soon. Enjoy 4DS C&B and your run!

I did Power Hour this morning. Can you say endless reps of everything? OUCH!! I definitely feel worked out.

Better get to work. Happy Humpity Hump Day!

personals

Back again cheetahpals! Had an awesome 5 mile run on a nearby side road. I wish I could just run right out from our driveway but the road is just too unsafe (no shoulder area to speak of and lots of turns). It isn't a well traveled road- it is out in the country, BUT the few cars that do use it really go FAST! Not worth the risk-- oh well... I don't have to drive far to get to a suitable area for running. The scenery is unbelievable!!
Did some hill repeats also on today's run:D

Cathy- You sure are dealing with alot lately with the business of the new school year and in the last stages of your marathon training also:eek:. Now you are dealing with sore feet too? One nice thing about my job is that I can wear comfortable shoes... too bad you cant wear sneaks. I guess it wouldn't go well with a nice professional look:p. I think it's a good idea to get in the morning runs when you can--- it will also help energize you for the day.

Gloria- rotten time to be dealing with a cold virus poor cheetahbabe! Hope it lets up on you soon.

Wendi- Great job as usual getting in a run in the early morning darkness!
I'm a total wussypants when it comes to running in the dark I'm afraid!
Speaking of a no hunting area... Unfortunately for me I live right in the middle of a very popular hunting area. It's a BIG deal here and there are plenty of game to hunt for also. I'm not anti-hunting really but I just don't understand the attraction of it personally. Anyway, the season will be starting soon around here and I'll have to be careful not to run out in the lonely sections of roads around here!!

Carole- Sounds like you are dealing with one very irritating case of poison oak! I've never in my life had to deal with any poison oak, ivy, etc and have been in areas where it's abundant. Either I'm very lucky or I'm immune. Hope it's on the downside stage for you now. WOW on getting to the 40mile / week mark!!!!!! Kudos to you:D:D:D I think you've inspired me to break out the 4DS workouts--- I may adapt some of the exercises and use the home gym.

Jackie- Yes Indeed I am a country girl... confirmed!!! I feel I can BREATHE again! Thanks for the congrats on the job offer. I'm feeling really good about it! Haven't done Power Hour in a while. It is quite an endurance workout for sure!!

Well, that catches me up for today at least so far! Need to get some shopping done and then PAINT!!

Hi to all who follow-- I'll catch up with youze guys... promise!!

Wendy- I forgot about you!! (gasp) How is my 18 mile running partner faring??? It's getting close!! I guess you are out conquering the long run now with your new fuel belt... sounds like a good one!! I'm with ya girl!!

Good morning!

I missed checking in yesterday. We had a very busy day at work and the new Officer’s of the Company came in for a visit. I feel so behind!

Cathy – Sorry your feet are bothering you! Hope you are able to get a little more shut-eye this morning! I love the title of the thread today!

Wendy – I have a hip clip, too, as well as the arm band. I much prefer the clip!!! It is sooo much more comfy and convenient! I had a fuel belt by Nike that had 3 little 6 oz bottles and a storage pouch. I used it for a while and it was good….but as my runs have gotten longer and it has gotten hotter….I ordered me one from RRS that has 4 10 oz bottles and 2 storage pouches. I tried it for the first time this past weekend. I loved it. I was surprised that it didn’t feel any heavier than my other one, or bounce up and down. I used to use my hand-held….but I have gotten to where I love having my hands/arms free!  Hope you like yours as much! Last night I watched my One on One abs workout and mine froze and went back to the beginning of the BB spill. But then I started it again and it didn’t do it anymore. Is that what yours did?

Gloria – Hope your cold is doing better! Hope you enjoy your run! Don’t push it with your cold!

Wendi – I’ll bet your hair looks gorgeous! Enjoy your 5 miler! I wish I could get outside in the early morning! I have a headlamp….but always use the TM  I missed BL last night. Shoot! I wanted to watch it!

Shelley – Enjoy your run! I have a lot of hills here, too! It is really hard for my to find a flat area to do a long training run. My marathon is flat and there is no way I can do a training run on that route! Entirely too dangerous and trafficy! Don’t worry about not being able to check in regularly! I can definitely relate to the “too overwhelmed to check in “ feeling….and then with everything else you have on top of everything! It won’t be long until you are totally settled!
Ooooh! Hope you and DH enjoy your home gym!

Jackie – Great job on your workout! Power Hour is a killer! I always forget about that one! I definitely need to do it sometime soon! You are right… Chalean Xtreme isn’t released yet, but they sent us a “preview disk” that has 3 10 minute samples of the workouts. It really looks good!

Carole – Wow! If you had a 40 mile base “before” your started marathon training . I guess I had around 30. I am not sure, though??? Oh my! I hope the Poison Oak settles down and goes away soon! Did you try the Schwan’s ice cream bars that he dropped off? Their Live Smart food is not as “bad” nutritionally as a lot of other frozen food….but I am sure it is still not good for me ;) But I still like it! 

Dallas – I sure hope the blisters are better! The movie we saw the other night was Fly Me to the Moon. It was really good! We need to see Journey to the Center of the Earth, too! Glad to know you liked it…..so we probably will, too! Hope your flooding has subsided!

Judy – I hope everything is back to normal after Ike’s rude visit!

Karen – I hope today is a good day for your mom! I hope all is well with all of you! That was sweet that you helped your dad cook for her! I am sure it is hard on your mom to let people “take care of her”.

Christine – I loved the little hedgehog, too! He was too cute! What is your ride for the day?

Yesterday was a 7 mile run. I did the floorwork of Firm Vol. I. (Also included the chestwork and abs with it). I usually don’t do the chestwork when I do the floorwork, but I am going to skip to chest in 4DS to save time this week. I did 4DS shoulders.

This morning was a 4 mile run, 4DS Back (no chest), Biceps and Triceps….and the core work from 4DS.

Hi to anyone I may have missed!

Linda

15 miles is done! YAY!

It was another slow one but if felt sooooo much better then last week's 13. OMG it was like heaven in comparison, I kid you not! I took ibuprofen before the run (Thanks for the idea Cathy) so perhaps that had something to do with it. One never knows what will create a good or bad run, huh? I am exhausted now, don't get me wrong, but it's a good thing, not a bad thing. I'm heading for a nap in just a few minutes as a matter of fact. :)

So at about mile 6 I had to stop home. (thankfully my plan was to just repeat the same local 3 mile loop that goes right past my house because....) I made sure my ipod was all charged up last night but forgot to check my garmin! The thing crapped out on me at just over 4.5 miles! Since I knew the loop I knew that I'd have gone about 6 miles by the time I got home so I stopped in, peed and put fresh batteries in my garmin and off I took for another 9 miles. I COULD have run the entire distance w/o the garmin since I know the mileage but I like to have it in order to pace myself. I am bad at "feeling" my speed.

So anyway, I finished my run at noon but was unable to nap right away because I had just enough time to breathe, stretch, eat and shower before I had to pick DS up from school. Now that he's napping though I can fall into bed too!:D

That being said, I'll be back later on for personals!:)

Hi there Girls. Today was a total body workout for me. Yesterday during the tempo run I think I pushed myself a little hard because last night my calf was cramping up. Feels pulled. So I babied it today with the total body to prepare for my 11 miles on Friday. It ticks me off since we are on the home stretch most of us for our big races.

Cathy- I hope you are able to get outside to get the runs in. Have a great day at work today. Love your blog.

Gloria- Hope the cold goes away soon and you are able to get running again. Nothin worse then a runny nose blowing in the wind.

Wendi- Great job on the 6.3. I didn't watch the Biggest Loser last night do to Big Brother. I actually missed all of the past two years but I do like to see the changes in the contestants. I agree that I hate it with the scare tactics and yelling.

Shelly- Glad you are settled in and no more TRAVELING. Hope you find the paint color you want. My home is mostly fall colors. Funny my favortie color is blue but not a single room is blue.

Carole- Poor girl. Poison Ivy is the worst. My dd had it this summer and I couldn't go anything over the counter or naturally for her. I mean I tried everything know to man. I finally had to take her in and they gave her a steroid shot because it was that bad. I honestly couldn't get rid of it. I hope yours clears up soon. It must the summer for it.

Jackie- I love PH too. Your gonna feel it in the morning.

Linda- Hope the pressue of the new bosses didn't linger around today. You did great on the 4 miles and weight work.

Judy- Sending good luck for your dd regatta. You sure have a busy weekend.

Christine- I hope dd is feeling better today. More than that I hope you don't get it.

Hiya Cheetahs!

This will be a quickie post as the closet ppl just left and I have some work to do! I have to put the pantry back together. They'll be back next week for the basement closets. It will be nice to have them done for extra storage.

I ended up doing most of Rumble y-day. I ran out of time. Let me tell you - I had so much fun kicking and punching that bag. That's a nice stress reliever!!! lol :p Now why on earth did I wait so long to pull out the bag? I had to dust it off from the furnace room. ;) Rumble was a slow start, but I think I'll add my weighted gloves to up the intensity. I have to be careful with the neck flaring up though. Every now and then it gives me trouble. The choreography was not hard to learn and Amy moves much slower in this one. The bag part was great!!! Oh, I said that already. ;)

Today, I did the stairs for an hour and flexible warrior from memory. I watched the news instead.

~BBL for personals

Hey girls!

Just wanted to let you all know before you get the email that I have emailed Beach Body. I am withdrawing from coaching. I believe you will probably get an email over the next couple of days reassigning you and introducing you to a new coach. If you know someone else in the biz whom you'd rather use, you can always have it changed though.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support but I just can't do it anymore. This is something I just needed to do. Thanks again though!

Be back in a few with java and personals! :)

Wendy- Great job on the 15 miles. I don't know how I forgot to mention you in my personals. I think I wrote Wendi and then missed my other Wendy. How did the fuel belt work for you? I have one with 8 bottles and it is heavy as all get out. I think I will fill 4 for the half with my gatorade and leave the water to the stations. Have some motrin on me.:p

I had to tell my girls first. MOM DOES NOT HAVE CANCER IN THE PANCREAS.:):D:):D:):D

The lesion is a non cancerous cyst. Your prayers worked. Now all we need to do is deal with the stones and the bone cancer but at least this is not cancer. Thank you all so much. I love you.......

Karen - Oh my!! That is just wonderful! The power of prayer works wonders! :) I am so happy for you and your family!

Wendy - I didn't even realize what a coach was until the other day! I understand why you would withdrawl, though. I am sure it was kind of stressful, from what I read last night. Great job on your 15 miler! That is great!

Dallas - This is the first Amy's I haven't preordered! Now I regret it! I will have to order them! Good job on Rumble yesterday and the stairs and FW today!

Hi ladies!

I barely have a moment but I just had to tell Karen that I am so, so, relieved that the spot is only a cyst! I can't even describe how big the smile was on my face when I read that...I have tears of relief right now for you. We love you, too, babe!

And to Shellers...welcome back, honey!!! Sheesh, it seems like all you've done the past few months is paint *lol*. BTW, still on for Philly!

Would love to gab but DSO is about to walk in the door with dinner so I need to bid you adieu for now. Hopefully I'll be back a bit later! Have a good one!
