Good morning and happy Friday!! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_happy-038.gif http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_happy-038.gif http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_happy-038.gif

To paraphrase Shelly and Christine, nothin' better than runnin'! Ain't it the truth?

First, let me catch up with :: personals ::

Judy :: I have been doing ponytail days *a lot* lately. Sometimes it’s because I’m time-crunched in the morning; other times, I just don’t want to bother blowing it out when it’s humid, which it has been lately. It’ll only frizz up then, anyway. That’s another reason I’m glad for the cooler temps…My hairdresser has gone too short the last two times, and I struggle to get it into a ponytail the first couple of weeks. I need to be more clear with her next time…So any ideas as to what’s going on the walls in the w/out room?…You have another stray now? Somehow they seem to find their way to your crib, huh? Maybe it's all your good cookin' they smell! :)

Wendy :: feeling any better this morning? Hope so! I started out with the throat crud, too. Still have a touch, but all is good...So, did you treat yourself to anything at Sports Authority last night?…No worries about the personals. I hadn’t really noticed a downhill trend at all. Either way, it’s cool. :)

Lorie :: holy cow! *lol* Whatta workout! Any DOMS? I believe you said you were taking a rest day today, so enjoy it, girl! :) …I have the same type of hair: wavy, curly, and a lot of it, so it takes forever to dry…The w/out room sounds great – I agree, a mirror is a must-have.

Wendi :: did it rain up where you are? It rained pretty much all day here in South Jersey. Which was perfect b/c my classes started a tales of horror short story unit and we watched the ol' Twilight Zone episode "The Hitchhiker" as they looked for foreshadowing clues. It created the perfect ambience! Now if only I had a popcorn machine... :)...How was bowling?…I’m sorry to hear that about your father.

Carole :: My sister used have the laminate floor in her old condo and I remember her raving about a certain brand of cleaner…Should I ask her what it was, or are you happy with your Target finds?

Amy :: congrats on joining a gym.

Shelly :: it was a little too crammed to get a run in before dark with the chiro appt. She just recovered from a bout of shingles and has new office hours. Now she doesn’t return to the office before 4 in the afternoons, and it was unusually packed in there yesterday. I’d actually thought of running TO and from the office, but then I thought that would be rude to get there and be kind of sweaty…Your w/out room sounds awesome, too!…Glad all went well at the vet…I’m big on ponytails and HATS…Love the hats on the weekends. And sweats. I’m all about bein’ comfy.

Christine :: great run – the time and the scenery!…congrats on the 12 lbs. down. I think you did that relatively quickly, too…Now that I have that tasty protein powder, I am drinking a shake almost every day. I find them very satisfying for less than 200 calories and 3 g of fat.

Jackie :: it cooled off some, but I think last night it finally dropped low enough to be considered chilly…It does tend to be chillier in the city. What’s the occasion for heading up to NYC?

Sunny :: let me know how that banana cream pie is! (As if I don’t have enough trouble trying to decide on which flavor I want.) :7

OK, that should do it. Hi to anyone else dropping in. :)

My workout this afternoon will be HST. Have a GREAT day, everyone!! BBL

Good morning cheetahs,

cathy- i will definitely let you know. planning on trying it after my workout this morning:9 i am picking up my first round of accutane today and wanted to know what you found to be the best mosturizer to help combat all of the dryness? thanks.

today's workout will be s&h tris and bi's. I still have some DOMS for C&B}(

i will check back in later on today.

have a great day everyone!

HI :7

Cathy- LOL about kitties smelling my cooking! For the workout wall art we will probably stick with a black and white theme. The wall sconces are black with amber shades, and the walls are light fern colored with an accent bay of dark fern where the TV is. DH has a signed (black & white) picture of a famous boxer from Rochester, Carmen Basilio.

Carole- I forgot that the swifer floor set up is great. I use the wood floor cleaner sometimes too. I also like Method ( don't tell my DB) wood floor cleaner. It smells faintly like almonds.

Christine- Good job on a PR on your run yesterday! Did you get the yoga in? I did magically hips with our buddy Eionn yesterday after Low Max

Amy- now that you have access to a treadmill. It might be time to try some iTreads!

Lorie- You have a great idea for your Birthday present! It will really be for both of you to enjoy and you can really enjoy working out from home! PS- I am going to do a 10 mile run in honor of your post yesterday with the link from Runners world! I hope these mild but DOMS from Low Max do not interfere!

Jackie- One can never tell with weather in October in NY. Hope you have a good trip. :)

HI Sunny!

Wendy- How are you feelin' this morning?

Wendi- did you get the rain later that you hoped for? And how did bowling feel?

Shelly- How is the studying going?

I have to share what DS did with his trainer this week. He is being trained specifically to improve his hockey skills. He did an hour long session in his hockey skates! They did lunges with weights, squats, push ups, side stepping squats ( kind of like fire walkers with weights) All this was done with his skates on. For push ups he had to wear his gloves and hold his stick too. (But they do that on the ice in full equipm't every practice) Yikes! don't let Cathe know about this; or we might be wearing skates to stabilize our core!

Ok, it is a slow and comfortable 10 mile run today. I'll have to figure out how to bring along some water.

Good Morning Girls!

TGIF!!!!!!

Well, the friggin' crud in my throat won't go away BUT I'm not getting any worse! I am going to work out today, dagnamit!!! I haven't taken my temp since the first night since I don't think I am running one. Running a temp after my work out is done would be nice though...that way I could get out of the wedding tonight!:p :7

Now that I messed up my plan for the week I could do any work out I want which means I have a HUGE decision to make! I want to run, I want to lift, I want to step, I want to kick, I want to jump...I want to do it all!:7 :7 :7

ACK, my coffee cup is already empty!!! I must go refill and then I am going to come back and do some personals.

BBS!:+

hi everyone. i ended up sleeping in because i had expected major doms that would not allow me to work out. imagine my surprise to wake up and find i really don't have any. i can "feel" my triceps, but nothing like i had before. i am sooooo happy! although, now i have to rush to get in the shower and get to work with no work out. oh well, maybe i will do it later. my tuummy is feeling a little upset, so maybe it's a good thing to take off.

it is cold here and i am having a hard time getting out of my warm bed.

i will be back later for personals. gotta get in the shower!

happy friday, cheetah babes!

Judy: Enjoy your 10 miler. It's quite a distance. How long does that take you? It took me nearly 2 hours! YIKES!

Lorie: Thanks for the sweet post yesterday. I really appreciate it.:) I can't wait to hear how you feel after your doulbe shot of BBC y'day! You sure are a brave girl! ITA that Arms and Abs cardio is the toughest by far of all of them! I did the Butt and Legs cardio on Monday for the first time. I expected it to be TOUGHER then the Arms and Abs cardio but it wasn't. I am thinking it's a good runner up though. }(

Wendi: So did the rain ever come? Find a sweater? I LOVE TO SHOP!}(

Carole: I'm still downing the Airborne. My sickness seems to be in a holding patter right now. I wish it would just LEAVE!

Shelly: So how are your legs and bootie feeling this morning? Please tell me that B&G gives you DOMS! :p

Christine: Congrats on your PR! Good job!!!!

Jackie: What's on tap for your work out today?

Sunny: Sounds like you are really coming along with your swimming. Are you searching for a spring time tri to enter? }(

Cathy: Glad you were able to find the fun in BM2's step this time around. I get very easily frustrtated myself. I have yet to do All Body Attack's cardio. I tried it and wanted to rip my eyeballs out w/in the first 2 minutes. I am afraid to go back to it now. I hate that feeling!x(

Good morning Cheetahs!!!!!

I am loving the gym!!!!!! I work out so hard and feel so good.

Yesterday I did the Eliptical. I am going to run tomorrow!

What is iTread again? (sorry!!!!)

Have a great weekend ladies!!!!!!

Amy :)

Good morning Cheetahs! Yep, TGIF!!!

Wendy - Glad you decided to take that extra rest day. How sweet of you to help your BF stay committed to her fitness goals. Know she appreciates you. Hope you feel better. What workout did you decide to do?

Sunny - Glad you're enjoying swimming so much! Have a good workout today!

Cathy - Feel proud of yourself for conquering that BM2 demon. Know you will get it in time. My 3 sisters and my dd are going to NY for fun and relaxation. Thought it would be good to do something together. It will be a nice little get-a-way.

Judy - So, what's wrong with the Method floor cleaner that DB doesn't like it? I'm getting hardwood floors everywhere but the bathrooms. Wow, what a way to train in hockey! How does DS feel today? Have a good 10 mile run!

Lorie - I didn't want to leave my nice warm bed today either. Enjoy your rest day. Hope the tummy feels better.

Amy - Glad you're enjoying the gym. Go to www.itrain.com and check out the itread workouts. You will love them.

Today is a rest day for me. I didn't feel like I needed one but since it was on my rotation I went with the flow. I have a 10 mile run for tomorrow. May have to bundle up. Here's a link for pictures of my 2nd 10K race and my 1st 10 mile race. They're not labeled.

Hello to all others.

TGIF!! Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I think you did great trying out the BM2 premix...some of those steps even took me awhile. Cathe's newer stuff is a lot trickier than the old workouts. I'd be curious what brand of floor cleaner your sister liked, but no hurry...:)..Have fun with HST today.

Sunny...enjoy your S&H workout, those always seem to give me DOMS.

Wendy...So what size DB's did you get for your BF? Sorry about the throat crud. My DH has had a cold too and I might start taking Airborne so I don't get it. I hope your stuff leaves soon too, it is not fun being sick!

Judy...if I don't like the Swiffer cleaner I will look for Method...so far just the microfiber mop dry does really well cleaning. WOW, I cannot imagine doing some of that stuff with skates on!!..I agree, don't let Cathe know...:)...enjoy your 10 miler today.

Lorie...I do know how it feels missing s race...I hope you get to do the upcoming 5K. I thought you might have some DOMS...maybe tomorrow...:)..hope your stomach feels better later.

Amy...way to go on joining a gym!!...Sounds like you are enjoying it.

Jackie..it just takes some time but you will figure out what works for you as far as gels or chewy things. That is good working with your boss is not a bad thing...Good job on the speed drills. Thanks for the link to the pics! You look great...enjoy your rest day...

Shelly...I know the floor would be awful for older arthritic dogs, my last big dog would have had a terrible time. You are sweet for having the carpet runners on the tile for your dog. I got JC playing with this teeny toy mouse yesterday and she had a ball all over the floor! My other cat peeled out on it, not knowing it was there as she was running from JC. So it has been fun...:)..Hope you had fun with B&G and the EXT yesterday.

Christine...good job on the 3 mile run faster! My DH is FAR from a neat freak, but it seems that guys are either neat freaks or slobs...were are the ones right in between??? Hope the pups got a good grooming...:)

I am planning on GS Chest, abs and a 4 mile run, possibly in the rain!

Have a good day...:)

The burning desire I had to work out this morning is quickly fading. As the morning goes on I am feeling worse. :-( This is why I skipped my work outs the past 2 days as well. ACK!

I don't feel like going to this wedding AT ALL but I am going to feel guilty if I don't go and even worse if I cancel and then end up feeling okay later.

Grrrr.x(

Well, I think I will see what the thermometer has to say...if it says I have a fever then it will be easier to justify cancelling out of tonight....

BBL.

Good morning everyone, hope it's a great Friday for you all so far:) I go into work tonight but only for a one nighter, then it's the weekend off:) I'll be doing some speedwork today on the TM. It has been gathering dust lately as I have been running pretty exclusively outdoors lately.

Christine- Awesome job with the PR on your 3 miler yesterday!!! Do you think the weight loss is contributing to your increased speed?

Jackie- My soreness is pretty much gone now, except for some twinges now and then in my ankles. Hope you are having a great rest day.
Thanks for the links to the latest pics. BTW, I love that cute lavender running skirt!! You look in awesome shape as always!

Wendy- How did the training session go last night? Did your BF like the new "toys"? I think it's encouraging that the crud in your throat hasn't progressed to something worse by now, you may escape the "bullet" so to speak, although it wont give you a nice excuse to skip the wedding I'm afraid:( ;-) I have to admit that B&g does not
give me any DOMS, actually I have yet to find a lower body workout that does! And I use significantly heavier weight than Cathe and crew alsox( The only thing that brings on the soreness in the legs is a strenuous hilly run.... like last weekend! Hey you really should give AllBodyAttack another try. Her counting and timing is a little off so it can be frustrating but it really isn't that difficult to pick up after a few tries.... and it is such FUN!

Sunny- Glad to hear that you are running and swimming well and that the temps are cooler for you!

Cathy- Great job on getting through the BM2 cardio!!! There is definitely hope for you :7 :7 :7 Hopefully the weather will cooperate with you and you can get in a good run this weekend.
BTW, I've been meaning to mention that I love the clever titles you've been coming up with for these threads! Also, what the heck is Cabs and Abs? That's been bugging me for a while!

Judy- My studying has been going actually pretty well. I've been taking my time in order to really retain as much as I can. It helps that I find the material quite interesting of course! Wow, that Hockey workout that your DS did sounds TOUGH!!! My ankles hurt just reading about it! Good luck on your 10 miler today! I'm surprised you don't already own a fuel belt, or some other device to carry water. I'd be lost without mine!!

Lorie- Congratulations on being DOM free!!! I guess you are really toughening up :) Hope you have time to fit in a tough workout later today!

Amy- If you have an MP3 player you really should check out the iTrain workouts. The treadmill ones are especially good as Jackie and Lorie can attest to!!

Carole- Dont you just love watching kitties play!!! Does your other cat play with JC yet? Hope you have a nice run today, even if it rains... a light rain feels good to me actually. How do you feel?

Time to head on down to the basement. I'll also be doing the LIC
upper body circuit today.

ShellyC

DO. NOT. WORK. OUT. !!!!!!!!!

i agree about the temperature thing. that was how i decided if i was going to go to tennessee last weekend. if i didn't have a fever, i figured i could go. on theother hand, if you are feeling crap, you will have a crap time. you don't want to be miserable, either.

just rest, drink lots of fluids, and take it easy!!!

Happy Friday Lovely Cheetah Ladies!

It’s raining and miserable here, so I gave in to my desire to sit on the big comfy chair and read my book (it’s historical fiction about King Henry the 8th from the view point of his wives – very well written and very well researched – Phillipa Gregory has a bunch of them out) instead of working out. As my half is in two days, that’s fine. I’m now at work, wishing I were back in my big comfy chair with a fire, but oh well… Fortunately it’s supposed to be really nice for my half – high of 70 (lows in the upper 40’s – so a chilly start) and partly cloudy. Perfect running conditions.

Cathy – I hear ya sister! Ain’t nothing like a good run! I did the 12 pounds quickly, but I’ve been plateaued here for a while. I’m hoping my new rotation after the half has the same affect as the previous one did. Which protein powder do you have?

Sunny – Sounds like you’re enjoying your slow and heavy rotation! Enjoy! You remain the busiest Cheetah!

Wendy – sorry you’re not feeling well! I so hope you feel better for the wedding!

Judy – no, I ended up going to lunch with my coworker instead of doing yoga. And I skipped today, so tomorrow will be a 2 hour session with light videos – probably do Yoga Burn and Yogilates 2. WOW! Your DS’s workout sounds killer, but very effective! How is he feeling today! Enjoy your run!

Lorie – How shocking! No DOMs after that killer workout! I wonder if it’ll hit you tomorrow. Hope your tummy feels better. I have the feeling it’s going to be a rough year for colds and flus.

Amy – so happy that you’re enjoying your gym!! www.itrain.com (check ‘em out – they have the iTreads, iClimbs, iCycles...)

Jackie – Enjoy your rest day! You are gorgeous, by the way! Thanks for sharing the photos!

Carole – the pups look fabulous. Although Jimmy’s “pants” are now “capris” and with his trim he looks more like a puppy again. But he’s so fluffy. My DH is such a neat freak that he does not even wrinkle his pants when he wears them. I haven’t figured out how he does that! But I’ve gotten a lot more organized because of him. Enjoy your wet run! It’s actually a nice day for one – cool with a gentle breeze, but not windy.

Have a great day everyone! Have you looked into the new Budokon videos yet? The first ones were too easy – these look almost too hard, but I may just have to get one, as I’m a sucker for a good challenge. I would love to have his grace and fluidity! (www.budokon.com).

Shelly - We were posting at the same time! I do think the weight loss has made running easier for me. I really would like to drop another 20 - I think I would be a lot faster. I just have a tough time losing weight. Enjoy your weekend off and your run on your treadmill!

I'm not going to the wedding. :p :+

I'm not working out either though. :-(

If the wedding were closer and/or for someone whom DH and I were closer to I would consider trying to push through the crappy feeling in order to go but to be brutally honest...I don't think this gal gives a rats patoot if I show up or not! I think she only wants the $$$$ and we are sending her the same exact gift in the mail now that I am not going that I would have brought if I were. I feel bad because I am backing out of a plan with DH's immediate family whom I was going to the wedding with but I do not feel bad for not going to the wedding. Does that make any sense??

I can't wait for DS to take his nap so I can take one too!

Good decision Wendy!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you feel better. Drink lots of fluids and tea!!!!!!!!!!

Amy :)

"Life is short so be the best you can be every single day!"

:::::CHEETAH:::::

Carole - Sounds like your kitties are having a good time. Did you have to run in the rain?

Wendy - Another one that thinks you did the right thing skipping the workout and the wedding. Take care of yourself girl. Isn't your half next weekend?

Christine - Sounds like the perfect day for curling up with a good book and something hot to drink. Good luck with your half! Do you have a goal time in mind? We already know you will do a great job! Thanks re the pics!

Shelly - Here's to a great night at work for you! That running skirt is the most comfortable thing. I'm sorry I didn't buy more than one when they were on sale. Oh, well, you live and you learn! Hope you had a good workout.

Glad I took a rest day. I came to work earlier so that I can leave early.

Jackie

!!! I did 10 miles for the first time !!!

Shelly- since my runs were never very long I have not needed a fuel belt. I managed OK with carrying a 16 oz. water bottle and dropping it off at 3 miles. I picked up later in the run. Although normally I run on an empty stomach, I had 8 oz. of lite chocolate soy milk before heading out. After the run I had a banana, a whole wheat roll and some leftover Tempeh waiting in the car for the drive home.

Wendy- I agree with your choice to rest and get healthy. 10 miles took me 1 hour and 46 minutes. I tried not to go below a high nine minute mile pace or over an 11 minute pace except for the last 1/2 mile when I didn't care. I think my average pace was 10:38 The goal was to finish and feel as though I could have gone on.

Christine- Having the chance to curl up with a book is therapy for all of us! Enjoy that rest before the race! I have not been aware of Budukon DVD's yet.

Jackie- DB doesn't prefer Method because he works for Proctor & Gamble . He asks us to buy P&G products when ever possible. I am faithful to Tide, Downy, & Folgers Coffee (all P&G brands) I'll give Mr. Clean a try when I'm out of Method, and windex!

Carole- the kitties must have been very funny on the new floor!
