:: CHEETAHS :: Monday

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, everyone:)

Sorry to always be the one starting these threads, but it seems that all the normal cheetahs are still sleeping while I enjoy my quiet before-work time. J

Carole—oh yeah, those skits were favorites of mine, too—two snaps!…I think there are 5-6 different Amphipods. Glad you like yours. Sounds like a great 14 miler for you. Hope your friend & sis weren’t too banged up. Would you believe I passed out before Dexter yesterday?! DOH!

Gloria—I made a significant dent in the schoolwork, too, so I’ll have minimal work on Tuesday. What perfect temps you’re having for running. Do you normally run in rain or take it to the DM?

Linda—that trip would be sometime next summer…I postponed yesterday’s long run b/c my achilles continues to bug me. Fat Man Running? Is that the British version? ACK re: your TM! I hope you can get to the root of the problem quickly. It probably can’t keep up with you! *lol*

Christine—sounds like a great ride! I love when there are interesting sights to see. No camera this time? J You spoiled us before. Very true about the achilles. It’s annoying, but yes, I agree—conservative is the way I choose to go as soon as those telltale warning signs appear. Hill running, more mileage, and off-road footwear choices probably did it.

My department has a PD day today. We’ll be out of the classroom but working in the building. I’m told I have to go check out the cafeteria today to see the fundraising track with me competing against Lance. *lol* Later will be an EXT-based circuit (finally getting to weights again!) and more yoga.

Have a great day!

Helo Friends

It sure felt good to be back in my own bed last night. We had a nice visit with DD23. Manhattan agrees with her. DH was a bit uncomfortable with the space issue this weekend. Everything was obviously crowded for him. DD17 has NYU on her college list (but not at the top) and he is just cringing about it. He was happy to get home and decompress. He has not been home or off work for a weekend in 6 week ends. Next weekend we stay home, because DS15 and DD17 do not have to travel. TG!

Shelly- Did your kitchen get painted? Linen white sounds very soothing.

Cathy- I look forward to your posts every morning. How is your Achilles today? DD23's BF is running the Marine corps marathon on Washington, DC on Oct 26th. She had a 19 miler planned for Saturday in the rain. She is trying to get DD23 and I to do the Atlanta half in march. I am limited by responsibilities at home, but I am interested.

Wendy- so line dancing was fun?

Ladies I am short on time here , so I'll cut this short. It is possible I might get back for a visit later. I'll be doing the regular Monday Clean Max etc and a run. Friday's workout was Cardio Coach Press Play on the bike. All weekend we walked everywhere and did not do formal workouts.

Good Morning Cheetahs.

Sorry I never got back here y'day. It ended up being a busy day.

DH and I ended up going out to breakfast y'day. It was yummy but I needed it like I needed a hole in the head! LOL My diet has been awful. I just can't get a grip lately. I eat well for a little while but end up blowing it in the end. UGH. The scale is showing it too. :(

After breakfast I went to the gym y'day afternoon for a 3 miler. My knee felt fine for the run and all night last night I had no problems but this morning it feels a little funny. I think it's too early in the game to blame it on the new shoes so I'll have to see what happens from here on out. I'd like to run after work today but if my knee is still acting up I guess wisdom will dictate to skip it so we'll see...Not sure what I'll do if I have to skip the run. Perhaps some EXT time??

By the time I was done at the gym it was time to head to MIL's for dinner/to pick up DS so I was pretty much on the go from 11am to 8pm when I laid down in bed last night. That's odd for me on the weekends.

When I was laying in bed this morning I was feeling very achey and like I might be getting sick. I have some remaining DOMS in my tris/lats from HSTA but the aches were everywhere. Once I got up and started walking around it seemed to subside. I am hoping it was just aches and pain from being in bed for so long....I went to bed at 8 last night and got up at 6. I was simply exhausted from the late night out before but I guess that's easy to see, huh? :p

Cathy: Went back and found your post to Gloria about the travel program. Sounds fun. Enjoy it! Good thinking on the achillies issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it feels better fast!!!!!

Judy: My sister lived/worked in NYC for a while after graduating from college. She loved it. She went from there to living in the country in Vermont and is now living in a rural area in upstate NY. Go figure! Glad your DD enjoys the city. I like visiting but I don't think I could live there. Enjoy this coming weekend at home. Sounds like both you and DH need it.

Gotta go get the little one up.

BBL!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Cathy – I don’t mind you starting the threads!! I like your titles and I never have difficulty finding them! I’ll start bringing the camera again – especially when I lengthen the ride to include the reservoir. There is a really interesting bridge that I ride under. I’d love to take a photo of it. And, if I can, the “Flintstone House” – which is an interesting house that sits on an extremely expensive lot. Have fun today! Let us know what you find in the cafeteria! :D:D

Judy – Glad you had a good time with DD23, but sorry DH was not at his most relaxed. NYC can be a bit crowded.

Wendy – Hope you’re not getting sick! It’s so tough to stick to a diet when everyone around you is suggesting things like breakfast out, etc! Which is my problem (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking with that at least… :p).

I have Recovery and Technique on my agenda. I’m going to follow that with CTX Chest and some abs (it’s a shorter workout). I’m a bit tired, so getting motivated might proof interesting! Have a great day all!

Missing in Action cheetah this weekend. We had soccer tournaments this weekend which proved to be longer than I had hoped. Got in all my workouts though. Today was an easy 3 miles and that is all. No add on for me. I'm just too tired. Have to scoot off to begin school. I hope to BBL for personals at lunch or tonight after soccer.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...you are a good thread starter...:D...Last night I found some you tubes of Fire Marshall Bill, Jim Carey was great in that role! My friend was more banged up that my sister, as she fell and my sister just tripped but stayed upright. Trails can be hazardous sometimes. Hope the PD day goes well. Have fun with your EXT and weight circuit.

Christine...I will have to check with my friend today and see how she is doing. We have all taken spills on trails occasionally. Wow...60 miles on your bike yesterday!! Sounds like a nice ride. I bet you wil be happy when DD15 is finally driving...:)..Enjoy your workout today.

Gloria...although I do love trail running it can be a bit scary when you fall. Thankfully none of us have been hurt too bad. I did enjoy Football yesterday...:)..I am hoping we finally get some rain this week.

Linda...True as we never know what will come out of our DH's mouth, when it comes to our running! Sorry about the TM issues...hope you can get it fixed. Glad to hear Patty is feeling better.

I am planning on BM2 upper body weights, P90X+ Core/Abs and a 5-6 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Back for a quickie-

Carole- glad your run went well, and I am sorry your sis took a spill. We would love to share our rain with you. In NYC all weekend we had constant drizzle. This was not good for my bow out! DD has naturally curly weather friendly hair!

Karen- 3 miles is just enough sometimes ;)

Wendy- I hope those are DOMS and not aches and pains from a virus. I'll keep my fingers crossed. We need down time each day I tell ya. I am certain to be cranky with out it. I would have been in bed at 8 too! In fact I was in bed by 9:08.

I just finished 7 miles with no heel pain, and my average pace was 9:37 I am happy. As soon as breakfast and rolling my foot are done I am off to tackle the day's list.

HI Cheetahs!

This will be a fly by for now. I need to get my weight work in before the yellow bus comes. ;) I used the EXT and spin bike for cardio....just felt so tired this morn. :( I had to cut it short 5" and only got in 55". I got started a little late, but needed to wake the kiddos. Oh Carole, I meant Cathy's flight from Chgo to NJ. ;) I want to see how that shorter flight goes after her marathon. I **think** it's a 5 hour flight from Cali to Chgo, right? Sorry I didn't make much sense.

Ok, better get it going here. Monday.....blah!!!

Good Monday Morning!

Christine – Wow! That is good time to ride 60 miles! It sounds like a beautiful, good run! Yes, DH is a really good guy :) I didn’t actually get to run with Patty. She went on to another town to do the flat run…and I just left from my house. But still ….it is good :) I am just so glad she is feeling better! LOL…yes, it does help when they get their license….but then sometimes, you’ll wish they didn’t have it ;) You will always worry about them being on the road….but I guess that is a part of them growing up :)

Cathy – Oh my gosh! I am so stupid! I meant “”Run, Fat Boy, Run”! Why do I keep doing that? I think something is wrong with me!! :) Anyway….”Run, Fat Boy, Run” was a good movie  Enjoy your EXT workout! Is Lance running Chicago this year? If so, get his autograph :) DH told me I just wore my treadmill out. :)

Judy – I am glad you are home, safe and sound, with your own bed! :) That is great that you daughter is loving Manhattan so much! Great job on your run! I am glad your heel cooperated!

Wendy – I hope your acheyness isn’t a sign of your getting sick! Glad your 3 miler went okay yesterday. Hopefully, your knee will be okay. Did the shoes feel good?

Karen – Hope the soccer went well for the kids! Good job on your workout!

Carole – enjoy your run and BM weights!

Dallas – That is still a great workout! Good job! LOL…I have been the queen of typing things when I meant something else!!! It is easily done! At least you haven’t done it as often as me!!!

This morning I didn't do anything. I called CS from Sole for my TM, but I am at work and didn't have the S/N, so they couldn't help me. They close at the same time that I get off work. So....I will have to call back tomorrow with the S/N. GRRR and double GRRR.

Hey to everyone and I hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Cathy - Don't mind you starting the thread at all. So how did you like seeing yourself competing against Lance? So cool of the kids. Enjoy your circuit and yoga.

Judy - Glad you had a nice visit with DD. Bet DH felt claustrophobic. Can't stand being in too small a room with lots of people either. Good job on the 7 miles! Yay for no pain!

Wendy - Do you need eating anonymous to help you out of this rut? :D Have faith that you'll pull it back together. Sure hope the knee is ok.

Christine - Did you find that motivation? Hope you were able to enjoy R&T.

Karen - Good job with the 3 miles! How's your mom?

Carole - Every time I see those commercials where the moms are getting the snacks for the football games, I think about you. Maybe it's a Wal-Mart commercial. Glad you're enjoying football. Enjoy your weights and run today.

Dallas - Quite a few tired Cheethas today! Hope you find some energy too. Good job getting the cardio part of your workout in.

Linda - Hope the treadmill is ok. As you can see, I'm not caught up on posts. Hope you get through to customer service.

Yesterday was a rest day. Today I did iTread #13 Sprints and the weight sections from Complete Body Sculpting.

I'll try and catch up later. Have a good day!

Hiya cheetahs! I was about to type good morning but I guess it's a tad too late for that now... at least here in Pa! I was running a tad late this morning and wanted to get out for my long run. Got in a decent 16 miles on a very nice rolling course... not too much traffic. It was actually the same course I attempted last week when I encountered the lab who startled me and I ended up taking a fall. No dog encounter today:)

Wendy- that is too weird that you and you DH were lunching at Panera Bread also! I had the vegetarian black bean soup in a bread bowl(mega yummy) I bought two of the bread bowls to take home and store in the freezer for later. Sorry you are dealing still with knee issues:( You've gotten in some good mileage lately so I think you'll be fine right now playing it safe and sticking with the EXT or other low impact options.

Christine- Yowza super woman!!! A serious hike and then the next day a 60 mile hilly bike ride:eek::eek::eek: I'd be taking a recovery day too... make that 2 or 3!!!

Cathy- Silly cheetah!!! I'd say I speak for us all when I emphatically say that I LOVE it when you open the thread. You are by far the most articulate and witty of us and we can count on you to start us off right!
So how does the achilles feel today? Very smart of you I'd say to be keeping it low impact for now!

Carole- I'd say that is very encouraging that you felt that 14 mile trail run wasn't as tough as you remembered!! SuperCarole is back in the game!!!
Great news that Karen has apparently decided to run in the Napa mary... or at least train for it anyway:D:D:D:D That is quite a workout you have scheduled today considering the trail run you did yesterday!!

Gloria- Sounds like a very pleasant 3 mile loop run for ya. Temps in the 50s I think are ideal for running! Wish it could stay that way but you know unfortunately all to soon we will be considering that warm!

Linda- poor cheetah! You've had more then your fair share of frustrating days lately and now the TM is on the fritz!!!:( Well, at least your friend is back on track again to run the mary with you!
Hope things smooth out for you soon!

Judy- Id say you and your DH are way overdue for a relaxing weekend at home!!! Glad your Manhattan trip went well anyway. Very nice job on that 7 miler.... great pace!!! My kitchen has gone from the McDonalds red and yellow color to a much more pleasing off white, yes it is soothing! I've finished the walls and today will be the trim.

Karen- So busy soccer mom... how did the games go?

Dallas- another busy supermom. I'm amazed that you can find the time for workouts at all! Take care:)

That pretty well catches me up for now. Time for some post run nourishment and then I'll finish up the kitchen with painting the trim.

tata

Pretty sure I won't get back tonight so I'm doing a personal lunch post.

Cathy- I would love to see the Cathy and Lance fundraising post in the cafeteria. Those kids must really be impressed. Good for you for setting a good example.

Judy- You did have a busy weekend. Now it's time to play catch up.

Wendy- Oh I so hope your not getting sick. It's too close to the race for you to get sick. Take it easy. I hope it's nothing.

Dallas- Enjoy your day.

Linda- Sorry about the TM. I have to go back later and read the post. I would die if somthing happened to mine. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Jackie- Mom is going ok. She is at a follow up as we speak. Her kidney apt. isn't unitl next week. Thanks for asking. She doing pretty good overall. Hopefully it will stay that way. Fingers crossed.

Carole- great runs the other day. You amaze me. I wish my endurane was up their with yours. One day.

Try to BBL

I did it!!!!

Had to tell my cheetahs....I got on the scale this morning and I MADE my goal weight!!!!....

Hey Peeps!

No time for personals right now as I'm getting ready to work out. I decided against the run but also was not in a EXT'ing mood so I will do DRILLMAX Total Body premix intstead.

BBL with personals but I just have to congratulate Carole right now on her amazing accomplishment! Great job! :)

Judy...thanks, I was happy about the run yesterday too. Actually my sis just tripped, it was my friend that took the spill, I will check on her later today. I would take your rain in a second! Nice pace for that 7 miles and so glad to hear your heel pain is better.

Dallas...no problem about the flights, I get mixed up there myself! I think my flight to Chicago is like 4.5 hours. Good job getting in the cardio when you felt a bit tired.

Linda...Hope you can get in the S/H tomorrow for your TM. At least this is your taper time so no problems with not running...:)

Jackie...LOL about the football snacks! I like that commercial...I did have some triscuits and string cheese yesterday. My DH had some popcorn. Good job with the iTread sprints and weight workout.

Shelly...good job with the 16 miles. Glad to hear the dog was not there. Thanks, that run yesterday really felt good. I am starting to feel back to my old self as far as running. I am glad Karen decided to train and do Napa. She has been running very strong.

Karen....thank you!! It is nice to finally get back into running strong after the injuries I had.

Wendy...thanks! Have fun with the killer DM premix...

Jackie – Good job on the workouts! When you do the weight sections only of Complete Body Sculping, do you just FF through the rest? (Is that a Firm?) Is it chaptered? Sorry, so many questions!

Shelly - Good job on that 16 miler! Glad the lab didn’t come after you again! :) LOL….yes, these few days have been some pretty trying days! I guess it could be a lot worse, though! :) Yes, I am so glad Patty is doing better! Enjoy your painting!

Karen – I am like you when it comes to my treadmill! Most of my training is on it, like yours. It is detrimental to our training, huh?

Carole – Congratulations on meeting your goal!!! :D I have 2 more weeks until my taper, so these are 2 pretty crucial weeks of my training (unfortunately).

DH went home for lunch and brought me back the serial number of the TM, so I got a call into CS…they are supposed to call me back within 24 hours. So….maybe he really didn’t mean what he said about me running too much! ;)

Karen – Sounds like a very busy weekend!! Great job at getting in the workouts!

Carole – thank you! I did enjoy my workout. It was a nice one. Yes, DD15 driving will be nice! How’s mom? And I haven’t heard about John in a while. Is he still doing okay? Nice workout you have planned. YAY!!!!! *High Fives Carole* Congrats on reaching your goal weight!!!!!

Dallas – from Cali to Chi is about a 3 hour flight – not too bad. I won’t even ask DH to upgrade me for that one. :p Good workout you got in this morning for feeling tired.

Linda – I know I’ll have mixed emotions about the driver’s license thing. I do worry about her on her bike now – so that’s just one added worry! It’s soooo FUN being a mom, isn’t it? :p Sorry you have to get the TM fixed. What a pain about the S/N! I’m happy DH was able to get it for you. I’m sure he doesn’t mean it about you running too much!

Jackie – I found the motivation. I find that usually as long as I manage to find the butt glue remover, I’m okay. :D Sounds like a good workout you got in!

Shelly – good run and glad the lab stayed at home! I’m laughing at you calling me a super woman – look who’s talking!! Nah, it was fun! Hiking and biking use different muscles. Enjoy your painting!! I’ll bet it nice to be settled and moving forward with your new life!

Wendy – Have fun at work! Great job with DM TB!

I finished Recovery and Technique. It actually felt really good (like it’s supposed to, I guess!). I followed it with CTX Chest and Steve Cotter’s Standing Abs. Nice little workout!

Now, I’m only going to post this once and I’m going to reiterate – if you don’t want to contribute, don’t – I most certainly won’t hold it against you or think you are anything less than the incredible Cheetah you are - but I told DD15 I would. Our local Humane Society (the one where DD15 is a member of the Youth Advisory Board) is holding their annual fund raiser. Jimmy and I will be participating in Kimo’s honor (she won’t be able to go – too sick). If you’d like to donate please do so here:
http://hssv.convio.net/site/TR/Walk...1040&et=WJtJ4oIUO4XKqPTkyTYwhQ..&s_tafId=1383
As I said, it’s the only time I’ll ask. You can pretend you didn’t see this. :p

Have a great day all!

Hello again.

My work out is done. I added 150 bicycle crunches on at the end for a quick ab fix. It was quick but still effective! :)

My little guy is going to be going up for a nap shortly and then I have to get in the shower so I figured I'd get back here for personals before I got side-tracked. I hate falling too far behind. :(

Christine: I WISH I could blame it on others suggesting eating out but it's just not so. I'm the one that loves to eat out so it's often my idea. UGH! So true about laundry being a never-ending task. So is dish washing. They are too of my pet peeve chores for sure. BLECH! LOL I am hearing that insoles can be an inexpensive way to alleviate some knee issues so I am going to pick up a pair and try them in my other running shoes before I throw them out. I may be able to save them. If I CAN save them I just have to decide if I should return the pair I just bought or hold on to them for future use. I hope the insoles work. The shoes are pretty new. It kills me to think they are useless yet too old to return. :( Nice ride y'day!!!

Carole: Sorry your friend fell on the trail run. Trails are tough. I fell once and slow down my pace because of the uneven surfaces. I see you had no problems though. Ofcourse not! You are da bomb, Cheetah! ;) Congrats again on getting to your goal weight! You rock and now you need to come to the east coast and whoop my behind into shape please!:D

Gloria: I would wear the Free's casually but they are too pricey to buy just for that. I found some at an outlet for like $40.00 but the color scheme was awful so I couldn't buy them no matter how cheap they were!

Linda: Sorry you had to shorten your run due to TM issues. Glad your DH got the serial number for you. I'm sure he supports you but marathon training takes a lot of time and maybe he was just feeling sorry for himself for a moment there. You know how men can be!;):)

Shelly: Have fun finishing up your kitchen trim! Glad the dog was not on your route today. You make a 16 miler sound like a walk in the park!

Jackie: Yeah, definately need Eaters Anonymous these days!:p Nice work out today.

Okay, looks like I'm caught up now. DS is down for his nappy-poo so I need to grab that shower while the grabbin' is good!:p

Later babes!

Hola, cheetahs! :)

Carole—MAJOR congrats on reaching your goal weight!! Awesome! Will I be able to find you in Chicago??? :)

Judy—I can imagine DH is itching for a quiet weekend at home...can't blame 'im! Glad DD23 is really in her element in the city. A nice speedy run you had there, and best of all, pain-free! My achilles feels pretty good today—now fingers are crossed the same will be true when I run tomorrow. My cousin's GF is running the MCM. If I can, I may try to get down there for it.

Wendy—thanks for going back & reading what you missed. Don't feel like typing up all that twice! ;) Oh shoot re: your knee. I hope it's just a fluke.

Christine—love your scenery. Definitely gotta see the Flintstone house now! The cafeteria poster is very cute. I'll have to take a pic. Absolutely, I would be happy to support you, DD & the cause!

Linda—oh OK! I thought you were referring to the original. I know it had a different title and some jokes that were better-suited to the British audiences. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it! I love the landlord with his spatula and the fight scene with the trash cans. :) Sorry about the holdup with the TM. Hope it's a quick solution! Yes, Lance is running Chicago. It's probably a long shot, but it would be a dream to meet him.

Shelly—glad it was a hound-free long run today! Any lingering aches from that wipeout?...aw, thanks—you are too kind. Achilles is feeling decent today, yay.

Jackie—I am still embarrassed by the attention but am extremely grateful for the support. The kids are really cute about it. How did it go with your inventory deadline at work?

Karen—nice job getting 3 miles into a busy day.

Hi Dallas!

OK, a little more kickback time and then it's onto that circuit followed by yoga.

Have a great night!

Carole- Way to go on the goal weight today!!!!! And how did you manage your workout today after yesterdays 14 miler? I was thinking about that a little bit ago, and then somebody ( Shelly ?) mentioned it too

Shelly- I forgot to answer about golf. The weather is great for golf, but our schedule is so structured with a new school year and teen sports requirements that I Just cannot fit in golf after labor Day. Most of my golf friends are still at it though.

Christine- I also forgot to mention that your weekend activity was amazing! you continue to set the bar for Cheetahville girlfriend?!

Linda- How nice of DH to help you with the needed info for your TM :)

Dallas & Karen- Hi busy mamas!

Hi Jackie!!! Are you getting any leaves turning yet? We are just stating now.

CAthy- enjoy your kickback time, mine is just about over .

Well it is time to get up and do some dinner prep. I am roasting a chicken for the crew and making some BBQ tempeh for myself. We'll round out the meal with with broccoli and a big romaine salad
