:::CHEETAHS:::MONDAY ALREADY!!!

Cathlete
Linda: You and Cathy are doing great with the long runs! Good to hear it was better than last week! I have the pepper spray too. It is comforting. I have never had to use it thankgoodness. DH's parents have gone through a lot and now they are just fine. Goes to show that you can get through just about anything. :)

Cathy: How nice you went to see the little one. :) They are so small, aren't they? I am glad your 20 miler was zen like. The marathon is coming up soon! You have been doing great with the training. As I posted to Linda, Dh's family has been through a lot, but it just shows that we all can bounce back. DH has one brother who is my age. DH is three years older than me. Do you remember me telling you about my BF's son going into the AF and hating it? Well, BF talked to him this weekend and he was the fastest person to assemble/disassemble his gun. He sounded in good spirits and is graduating soon, like next week! :):):)

Yesterday was a 4 mile run. Not sure what I will do today. Take care everyone and enjoy Monday! :)

Good morning, everyone! :) :) :)

Have to agree, the weekend blitzed by. But I accomplished my entire to-do list, so it's a good feeling.

Gloria :: She is tiny. I was too chicken to hold her.
th_Sheepish.gif
Congrats to BF's son! Glad things turned around for him. Does he know where he is going to be stationed?

Tonight will be an u/b circuit using the EXT.

Hope it's a great one!

Cath: I am not sure where he will be stationed. I am so proud of him. I have never been a fan of holding the babies either. They are so cute though watching them sleep. Enjoy your circuit and school today!

I am running today. I have 15 min. before I have to get on the tm. :)

Monday ahhhhh!

Yes, I like Mondays. Even though the to do list is big, it is a good feeling to get back to a real disciplined routine, and my own meals!

did anyone watch the AMA awards? DD23 worked on the advertisement for the rock band video game. I just had to share, as it was a separate assignment and she got paid extra and was asked to do it.

Gloria- have a good run today , although by the time you read this it will be done!

Cathy- I am a baby holder. I spent so many years with babes in my arms that it is a pleasant reminder to me. I understand how many people are not. PS- I comented on your blog last night. Fantastic job on the run yesterday!

OK, DS is down stairs now for some breakfast and then off to school. We are on a mission to start the year of with a good routine. Ta Ta. Hopefully I'll be back later to report a workout.

Good Morning Girls. How is everyone this morning?

Well, hold onto your horses folks. You are NOT going to believe this but.....*drum roll please*.....I didn't work out ALL weekend!!!!:confused::eek:
I wanted to do something when I got home yesterday but it just didn't happen for various reasons. I felt very guilty ofcourse, but today is a new day, and I'm over it. :)

Carole: How did your mom's therapy go yesterday?

Karen: So did you get your Birthday wishes-no fighting and a dinner prepared by DH? I hope your day was pleasant.

Judy: Thanks re BF's mom. My mom was mine and BF's age (36) when she lost her mom AND her mom was younger then BF's mom so she knows how tough it is too. I can't even imagine....:( Sorry DS' team got eliminated but with school starting today perhaps it was a blessing in disguise.

Shelly: Nice 14 miler girl! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah I was iffy on the Ocean Drive Marathon because it's at the end of March so the weather could do ANYTHING but it's the only local full marathon that catches my eye and excites me so I think it's worth taking the chance with the weather. That would be fun if you decided to join.

Gloria: It's sad what your DH had to go through as a child. Thank goodness though that his mom survived and that all is well today. You don't hear that all too often. :)

Linda: OMG, being chased by a dog is one of my biggest fears when I run outdoors. I guess the dogs were only out for some fun. PHEW! I would have an attack. I carry spray too and the possibility of a loose dog is the #1 reason. I am mildly concerned about people but more so about dogs. Glad your 17 went so well. Great to hear especially after what you went through at the race.

Cathy: Yeah they say C sections make for a tough recovery. :( So what's the new addition's name going to be? :) WOW, you had a fabulous run! How awesome that you felt so great about 20 miles. That must give you BIG TIME confidence for the upcoming marathon! You are gonna bust through that finish line feelin' like you go another 20. I just know it! I read your blog and understand about the emotional moment. It's a huge sense of accomplishment when you run a new longer distance. I actually got a bit emotional at the beginning of both of my halfs. I was too exhausted to get emotional at the finish. LOL

Today's work out will be a short run. I am also hoping to have time to run home and hit some weights before having to shower and pick up DS from school.

BBL.

Good Morning Cheetahs!!

Karen: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :D:D:D Sorry this is belated! Hope it was fabulous! LOLing at your 6 yo scaring you with birthday wishes!!

Cathy – WAY TO GO on your long run!!! That is sooo cool that you are starting to really get in to going the distance! I’m impressed!! I cannot wait for your marathon! Glad your eating did not affect your run. I’ll bet you had fun seeing the little baby girl!!

Wendy – Don’t you hate when life gets in the way? I wanted to take a longer bike ride today but time constraints did not allow me to. Oh too cool about the compliments!! Linda’s biceps are definitely envy worth!! You must have some killer guns yourself!

Carole – Great job on the 14 miles!!! I’ll bet it felt great! YEAH! Football! Of course we had to play Bocce, but DH was sitting at the bar watching the game quite a bit. We did see the play where Brady got hurt!! I am so bummed. A torn ACL! He’ll be out all season. And we saw the Bears romp the Colts! YEAH! (I’m an old Baltimore Colts fan – sorry any Indiana fans).

Judy – sorry DS’s team did not make it into the finals. Glad you were able to run again! Hope all is well! Good luck to DS on his first day back to school!

Shelly – glad you had a blast on your run! It’s so fun to just people watch sometimes while running, isn’t it? Great pace! Especially with a hard workout the day before. Love that you ran up the Rocky Steps – but I do agree – you should have danced! :p Yeah, I managed to banish the mule, thankfully!

Gloria – Sorry your DH had such a hard day yesterday! His childhood does sound very tough. Glad his parents are happier now.

Linda – WOW! Lots of distance today!! Great job on the 17 miles! I don’t understand why people don’t keep their dogs under control!

I’m sorry I’ve been MIA. I’ve been busy and exhausted! Saturday was a rest day, yesterday I did L&G, then an abs mish mosh. I followed that with some rounds of bocce ball at our annual charity event. Today I’ll spin it out a bit with the Lake Placid Training Ride (well part of it). I think I’m FINALLY getting caught up on the sleep I need, and I have been eating very carefully. No more mules in my tummy! Thank heavens! Have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...Good job on the 20!! It does not matter the time but the distance right now. And knowing you did not hate every second and had such a good run is great the hear...:) Mom's therapy went good yesterday. I will see her later today. Glad to hear the scale is cooperating again. I know how frustrating it can be when it does not! I have always been a scardy cat about holding babies. That is great you got your to-do list accomplished this weekend. Enjoy your upper body circuit

Gloria...Enjoy whatever workout you do today..

Judy...I like mondays too..:D. I did not watch the AMA awards, but that is cool DD23 worked on part of it, and getting paid extra is always a plus!

Wendy...so if you didn't workout all weekend will you make up for that with a killer week??...:)..Mom's therapy went well yesterday, I hope that continues. Enjoy your short run and weights.

Christine...thanks, the 14 did feel great! I heard about Brady...:(...that always sucks when they get hurt the first game. I watched most of the Bears game. My DH's uncle played for the bears YEARS ago so I have always liked them. It seemed to me that Peyton was just not playing up to his normal level. I wonder if his knee surgery in the off season has something to do with that? I really enjoyed watching all the games yesterday. Football always means fall
fall3.gif
Enjoy spinning today. It is amazing how much better we feel when we get enough sleep and our eating is back on track...:)

Linda...thanks re my run. I am so glad the injuries are gone. My hips get a tad sore but nothing at all like they used to. Yeah I do not want anymore of these injuries!! I think Mom will improve a lot at re-hab. Good job with the 17 miles. I carry pepper spray all the time. And I have also been chased by dogs too.

Today I am doing 4DS bi's, tri's and shoulders, abs and a 5 mile run. My weight loss has toned down my arms so now I will try and get some cuts/definition back!! I will see my Mom after some errands later. She seems to be doing well...:)

Have a great day...:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Yep, Monday already! Will check today's posts and try to get to the others later.

Gloria - Gllad your BF son is in good spirits! Our service men and women are always in my prayers. Have a good run!

Cathy - Enjoy your UB and EXT workout today.

Judy - Missed AMA. Congratulations to DD! Bet she did an awesome job! Extra $$$ are always nice too.

Wendy - No workout the whole weekend! The sky is falling! :p I'm sure you will make up for it though.

Karen - Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day!

Christine - Glad you're catching up on your sleep.

Carole - Bet the arms are gorgeous because you already had nice ones. Glad your mom is doing better. Enjoy 4DS and your run!

Yesterday was a rest day and I needed it. Today was a 2 mile run and SuperCharged Sculpting.

The open house went well Saturday. Even though it was from 6-8, I still didn't get to bed until after midnight with the clean up. Gifts weren't necessary but I still received several nice ones. About 50 people were in and out. I was surprised I had had a lot of food left over. Sent some home with people. Glad I chose to do the open house instead of a house warming party.

BBL hopefully.

Good morning! Monday, Monday morning :(

Judy - LOL...I wish I could join you in the "liking Mondays"! In some ways, I guess I do too ;) But I just always hate it when the weekend if over. Have a good day and enjoy your workout!

Cathy - I am so glad the Power Bar worked well for you! Great job on your 20 miler!!! That is wonderful that it felt so good! I have never done 20 miles, yet. I am really nervous about it! LOL...I know what you mean about the dogs not letting their presence be known until you get right in front of them and then start barking or coming at you! Glad that one was behind a fence! You are giving me "baby fever"! Hope everything keeps going well with our BF and new arrival!

Christine - I am glad your tummy is doing better and that you are catching up on sleep! Good job on the L&G/ab workout! Enjoy your ride today. Where we ran yesterday was out a county road, so I guess the people "thought" they didn't "need" to keep them tied up. But I agree...I think they should always keep them from running after people and vehicles!

Wendy - As hard as you have been hitting it lately, I am sure your body welcomed the couple of days off of working out! Plus, you were under a lot of stress this weekend with your BF's mom's funeral/viewing, etc. Enjoy your run/workout today! Dogs really scare me, too! I have always avoided routes that have loose dogs, but since Patty has the spray, I was a little braver ;) But...I was still pretty nervous when we actually encountered the one vicious little terror! It was funny.....he wasn't even a big dog and was cute....still he started growling, snarling and coming at us! ;) Then....he was UGLY! ;)

Carole - Enjoy your GS BB&S/abs and run! I "plan" to do GS's again this week (if I don't end up changing my mind at the last minute ;) I love them! I love fall and football season!!! I don't really get into a lot of FB, but I love the season! :) I do love it when I can actually go to the games, though.

Gloria - I ordered some Pepper Spray, so with Patty and me "both" having it, I will be more comforted! :) Enjoy your run today and good job on the run yesterday! !

Today is my day off! HOpe everyone has a wonderful day and I will BBL! "Hey to EVERYONE! ) :)

Jackie - You slipped in on me! Glad the open house turned out well! Sounds wonderful! Sounds like a late night, though! Enjoy your day!

FINALLY!!! My Trip Report from Friday!

If you live in San Jose and cycle, one of the “must do” rides is over the mountains to the beach at Santa Cruz (or in this case Capitola – which is directly south of Santa Cruz). Historically, the problem with this ride is that there is so much to eat, drink and simply DO at the beach, that the ride back is 40 miles of torture. So when my company announced a beach party and the CEO himself said he would lead a group of cyclists over the mountain to the beach and the bus could take us back, I jumped on board immediately! To give a little background on my company – as so many of us cycle, we sponsor many of the local bike teams, including some university teams. We have our own cycling kits (jersey, shorts, socks, bottles, windbreakers…). I don’t know how many other companies have this, but I think it’s a great perk to working for this company!

We all met in Los Gatos at the local coffee shop. We went in two groups – the slower group left at 8:30AM and the “faster” group left at 9:30AM. This is the later group (dubbed the “Billy Goats”). That’s me, second to the right.

The ride was gorgeous! We meandered up Old Santa Cruz Highway through the Redwoods:

333714590.jpg

It was a hot day, but as the ride was in the shade, it was nice and cool for us. Old Santa Cruz Highway is a good climb, but not too steep. We actually hit Summit Road (very aptly named as it goes along the summit) much early than I thought we would. Here’s our CEO and one of our VP’s at Summit Road:

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1308/4836116/20444773/333712403.jpg

The ride from there was ALL down hill! We hit speeds of 40 MPH going down and the roads were happily clear of traffic. This was just a fun ride! We ended up catching up to the 8:30 group at the rest point towards the bottom of the hill. We also met up with our SAG support:

333714593.jpg
http://picasaweb.google.com/jennieyim/SantaCruzBeachParty#5243535772621523570

From there it was a short 5 miles to the ocean:

333714594.jpg
http://picasaweb.google.com/jennieyim/SantaCruzBeachParty#5243535799177199042

And the party was right down the road!!!:

333714586.jpg
http://picasaweb.google.com/jennieyim/SantaCruzBeachParty#5243535820930445474

We got there before the bus did, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the beach. We immediately went and dipped our poor tired toesies in the water. This is one of my coworkers enjoying the water:

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1308/4836116/20444773/333712400.jpg

Of course, we couldn’t leave our bikes with the bike racks as none of us rode with locks, so we all carried them up the beach and leaned them against the rocks:

333712393.jpg

And just as the day was getting to be a little too hot, Santa Cruz cooperated and the fog rolled in:

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1308/4836116/20444773/333712389.jpg

All in all, a fabulous if exhausting day. A total of 38 miles and a 2000 foot elevation gain. Then beach volley ball, surfing lessons, and way too much food!!!

Good Afternoon everyone. Birthday was great yesterday. Thanks again so much for my birthday wishes. 36 doesn't seem bad at all. Actually I wouldn't trade it for 26 again at to save my life. My kids were pretty good. No fighting. However they did get in some trouble for not cleaning up their room as good as they could. They are into hiding the mess instead of actually putting it where it belongs. Ate horribly.:mad: I don't even want to go into it but today I'm back on track. :DI really paid for it this morning because getting out of bed was hard. The sugar made me so tired. I haven't had sugar like that in ages.

Gloria- Decided on a TM run HUH.!!! Hope it went smoothly and you got in and out on a Monday which is all anyone can ask for.

Cathy- 20 miles. You are super. I can't even imagine. Maybe one day. I'm so happy you got that under your belt. Smooth sailing now for the marathon. That was a big one for sure.

Judy- Hope your routine is still on track today. It's hard the first day back but it sounds like you got him off to a good start.

Wendy- A Rest weekend. Tell me it isn't so. However, I'm happy that you did it and now you can feel good about all your going to do this week. I hope Joey had a good day today and not a repeat of Friday.

Christine- Oh my goodness you are a lucky girl. How cool is your job. It really must be nice to have that kind of fellowship in a career. Most people just struggle to make it though the day. Seem like you all have a great bond. I love the photos. You look fantastic in your outfits. Thanks for sharing. Glad you took some time off to relax this weekend.

Carole- If it isn't one thing it's another. Weight loss is good but now the definition. I know in no time you will have the arms looking the way you want. Probably anyone who sees you would take your arms. Gald to hear your mom is doing better.

Jackie- Your open house sounded lovely. I bet it did take forever to clean it all up. Now you can just sit back and enjoy your new home

Linda- Enjoy your rest day. Great job on the 17 miles. YOu and Cathy are awesome.

Christine - what an absolutely gorgeous ride! You are so lucky! I will trade you jobs! What beautiful scenery! Thanks for sharing!

Karen - I am glad you had a good birthday! 36 y/o! The 30's were my favorite years, I think. But actually, 40's are not bad either! But like you, I would not want to go back to my 20's! Birthday's are meant to splurge on! Don't stress about it! Like you said....you are back on track!

Linda- Thanks I needed the pep talk. I'm about to eat some zuchini, and cucumbers from the garden so that may make of for some of the sugars from yesterday. Hopefully the water in the vegetables will suck the life out of the fat. :p

Jackie...Thanks for the sweet compliment! Why is it we just are not satisfied with ourselves sometimes?!! 4DS felt wonderful...:)..Good workout for you today. Glad to hear the Open House was a success. Nice of the people that gave you some gifts. You will have to share what you got...

Linda...I actually am doing 4DS, not GS (I did GS a few weeks back), easily confusing...:)..I think with 4DS you can actually lift heavier than GS, for me anyway. I would love some fall weather...but 107 today is just not cutting it!

Christine...looks like you had a beautiful ride with the Billy Goats! How fun...:). That road through the Redwoods looks great. Love the shots of the beach. One thing I still miss about Southern Cal. Sounds like one awesome day. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Karen...ahhh...one day overdosing on sugar is not bad at all. You will feel better once you get back on track. I think 36 was a great age!! Like Linda said the 40's are not bad either. Thanks for the nice compliment...:)

Had a good run and really enjoyed 4DS weights. I am sure I will have some DOMS tomorrow. On a sad note we had 2 more fires start yesterday, so we are back to some smoky skies...:(...Luckily they are a good distance from my house.

Went to see Mom and she is doing well. Had her 2nd day of therapy (with my niece, today). These PT's are brutal...:D. I sat with her while she had lunch. She is not eating much and I hope as she continues with therapy her appetite will increase.

Karen - Oh man! the cucumbers and zuchini is you just ate is making me feel so guilty!! They sound so fresh and clean! Today I have eaten so horribly that I would never be able to tell you guys what I ate!

Carole - Oh my gosh! My bad  What on earth is wrong with me? I mean seriously!! How can I read something think something else? I agree with you about being able to lift heavier with 4DS! I love that one, too! 107 does just not sound at all good! You probably don't have a lot of humidity, but still! That is hot :( Good job on your workout. Sorry about the fires. Hopefully, they won't spread too much. Glad your mom is doing better!

Good Evening Cheetahs!:)

Oh girls, I am sooooo tired! I've been ready for bed since 6pm I swear! This new napless schedule I am on is killing me! Will I ever re-adjust? :p

Today's work out was a hilly 2 miles with Grace and then the 39 min legs n glutes standing premix. Had to dust that one off and LOVED it! :)

Carole: Sorry about the new fires. That stinks. I hope they can keep 'em under control. Glad to hear mom is doing well. I don't think many people eat all that well in places like hospitals and rehabs. Have you ever tasted the food they serve? :p :)

Karen: I feel your pain on the eating front. I didn't eat well myself over this past weekend. On Saturday I had a late lunch at Chili's (fajita pita) and dinner at about 9:30pm from Burger King. I usually get the salads from BK, McD, etc. but we were taking it home to eat and I had salad stuff at home if I wanted that so I got some spicey chicken wrap thing instead. It was pretty tastey but I don't even wanna know the cal and fat count on it!

Christine: Great pics! Thanks for sharing! Boy your job sure sounds fun! If I ever get out to Cali for a visit I may not wanna come back home!;) Bocce ball is a fun game, isn't it? I don't get to play it often but always have fun when I do. I also really enjoy horseshoes!:)

Jackie: Glad the open house went well for you. If you got any gifts that you don't want, feel free to send them over my way! LOL ;) (j/k)

Linda: So when is your Marathon? November, right?? I didn't mind not working out all weekend but I DID mind what I ate. BLECH! Not good! Fortunately the scale was still my friend this morning and I am back on track so I guess no harm no foul, right? :)

I *THINK* I'm all caught up but if I missed someone please forgive. This new site still confuses me a bit at times.

Off to bed with me but I'll be back in the morning.

Have a great night and hugs to all!:D
