::: CHEETAHS ::: Monday, 3.24

Oh man, it’s Monday! Ick. x(

Looks like everyone else agrees as Cathy is the only who posted and she is off today (well, off work, she still is BUSY!) :+ We had a nice family dinner last night and finished it off with a really killer cheesecake. Back on the old eating plan today! My workout today is Spinervals Mental Toughness. It’s 90 minutes (not sure I’ll do all 90 minutes) and mostly 15 minute steady state time trial pace. It’s not as “fun” as the others, but it’s a great workout, so I’ll do it this morning. No DOMS in the core this morning, which is surprising, but I do have some nice glute DOMS.

Linda – I like Firepower because it’s more drill like. I really sweat! Try it before Newport though – Newport is the toughest. Good job on getting in CB&S! We Cheetahs as addicted, aren’t we?

Cathy – Sounds like you had a good workout on the EXT! Great job! I’ll bet it feels wonderful! Still sore today? Have fun with IC#2

Wendy – Cute hair! Too weird about Joey and your aunt and uncle. Who knows what sets kids off. I’m glad he settled down. It must have been embarrassing. I hope his aunt and uncle weren’t too upset.

Have a good day all!

Good Morning Cathy and all Cheetahs who follow. :)

Well I have some nice DOMS all over from ME yesterday. YAY!}(

Today is cardio only. I'm tossing around ITread 21/30 minutes intervals, Imax 2 and a Turbo Jam. Anyone care to help me decide? :7

So is anyone suffering a hangover this morning? From food or otherwise? }(

ETA: Hi Christine! We were posting at the same time. :)

Good morning ladies!

I missed you all this weekend! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I'm sorry I never got here the past couple of days...I have some serious catching up to do !

DSO and I had a wonderful weekend of mucho quality time and way too much yummy food :9  x( (fillet mignon prepared three ways, lobster, prosciutto wrapped aspargus, roasted potatoes, etc...you get the idea ;-)). We did get to go out for a run yesterday afternoon before dinner. He's recovering from a small calf strain and hasn't run in about a month so we kept the distance short and went easy at his pace. Poor guy...he's used to running on a TM and my area is pretty challenging in the hill department lol!

So, because of the serious damage we did in the food consumption department my workout for today is 4DS HIS, LIS and ME...and I'm doing them back to back. I have to at least make a dent in the damage from the weekend...even though it was well worth it!!!

Okay, let me get going on my workout(s) and I'll be back afterward to catch up on personals.

Carole :: cracked up at the family egg hunt…love it!

Wendy :: well, next ski season’s plans are up in the air…BF is due in September, so we want to play by ear. We *might* try for a trip out West (probably Utah or Colorado) in late February, but it depends on whether or not she’s ready for that. We might just do a long weekend or two up in VT and hold off on something bigger til the following ski season…Sorry about Joey’s unusual reaction. Wow, you look so different with curly hair! Looks good and will make styling a breeze.

Shelly :: glad Jerry is keeping an open mind about going vegan. *lol'd* about the body preservation line...good that you'll have more family on the East Coast.

Christine :: The 200th b’day party sounds like it was a blast. I was out for a bit last night and am a bit slow-moving this morning. :) Thanks for the kb advice and rotation info. I wanted to know what you were doing, too. So you’re using the bells 3x a week and doing pure cardio how many days? You are right—most people haven’t heard of them. I put a 15 lber on my Amazon wishlist b/c the fam wanted some b’day ideas for me, and my sister asked me yesterday, “So what are these kelly balls that you want?” *lol* Yes, I still have a bit of DOMS from Saturday.

Lorie :: congrats on scoring the Perfect Pushups! Sorry about AF.

Sunny :: thanks for the info. Do you have KB Goddess, too?

Linda :: oh, I think you will *so* get into the kb’s with Anthony. I am definitely enjoying them…Believe it or not, I think I *do* have to go into work. *lol* I hope I can even get into the building. I apparently forgot a very important paper that I absolutely *need* for NB. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif It’s been an adventure! :7 Think you’ll do IC#1 or 2 today?

ETA: Hi to the Wendy/is!

Wendy :: I'm not familiar with any of those 3 workouts, so I can't be of much of help. No hangover here, but I'm tired. I'm thinkin' a nap might happen sometime today.

Wendi :: enjoy your workout!

Hi Special Cheetah Friends :)

I see I have some catching up to do after being away.

Wendy- your hair is positively hot! Did you get it permed? I just permed mine a month ago and am wearing it very similar to yours. I love the wash-n-go simplicity.

Shelly- Did I read that you are going vegan? I commend you. I considered it, but I could not give up seafood or cheese. However, I have found a decent 75% fat reduced Vermont cheddar that I do not feel guilty about.... Any luck with finding property?

Carole- You adult egg hunt sounds fun!

We had a nice vacation and I managed 4 good runs and one day of gym machine weights. DH is very good about getting up to workout on vacation.... Also both of our adult kids who live away made it home for Easter and a family baby shower. So we came home to a full house!

Cathy- I am sending you good vibes for a productive day with Nb work.

Sunny & Wendy and Lorrie- Are we still targeting May 1 to start NROL4W? I am up for it if I have a group to check in with.

HI Christine & Wendi & Linda !

I did some reading over my vacation. I read both Complete Books of Running for Women. (The Runner's World one and the one by Clair K.) For April I am taking my runs to 4 x per week. When golf season starts up again ( in May), I will go back to 3 runs per week. If I golf twice per week, I can factor in a (minimum) 5 mile hilly walk with a heavy golf bag for each round. Also for April I will do endurance total body weights, and then hopefully start up with NROL4W with a any of us who are interested.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...good workout yesterday. Enjoy IC2 and more writing today.

Wendy..way to go with going heavier with ME. Yep those are killer bicep moves in that workout! That is a very bizarre story about Joey's reaction to your Aunt & Uncle? Has he ever met them before? I hope he is feeling better today...you hair looks so cute curled! Is it a perm? No hangover for me today..:)..I say go for Imax2...

Wendi..Nice to hear you and DSO had such a good weekend. I didn't know he ran also. Sounds like a killer workout lined up fo you today...

Christine...AOS Newport sounds like a killer workout. Glad to hear you had a good dinner and the cheesecake does sound yummy! Enjoy your Spinerval workout today.

Judy...Welcome home..hope you had a nice vacation. Good job getting in some runs and a weight workout.

Shelly...your family reacted a bit like mine when told them about going vegan/vegetarian, I think some still believe it is just a fad for me! My most favorite cookbook is "The Vegan Planet" by Robin Robertson. This guy also has a couple of books out and his site is interesting if you get any time to check it out: http://www.madcowboy.com/ That is great Jerry is willing to try the chicken veggie pattie and that he liked the veggie cheese...:)...good workout yesterday.

Lorie...I agree about cardio making you feel better when AF is visiting! Good job on the Perfect Push-ups, I will have to get some.

Sunny...yes, you will definitely have to wait for the kids to get older before you try the adult hunt! What kind of shoes will you get for your DS?

Linda...good job with 8 miles yesterday. Good job getting in the 4DS weight workouts.

Well the beer hunt was over after we all had 2 little beers!! The brunch was very nice and the quiche was tasty. My nephew has a lot of property along with 2 horses and a very cute donkey, who we all got to pet.

I will be doing CTX shoulders, abs and some type of freestyle leg workout along with 40 min on my EXT. Later this afternoon I get a massage...I can't wait...:)

Have a great day...

Morning Cheetahs!

Very tired Cheetah reporting...DS5 has the croup. UGH! We have had sleepless nights from all the coughing. :( He does seem to perk up during the day. Actually, he seems normal during the day. Go figure. Sat afternoon I was so scared because his temp spiked to 105. I totally jinxed our house when I said we should be done with illnesses for a while. Remind me to never say anything out loud again!! ;-) DH is on round 2 as well. It's something different, but nonetheless he's sick. :( I've been able to do my workouts, but again, have cut back on cardio. I'm in the middle of week #5 and have some nice DOMS from B&G and Back & Biceps. :) Today, will be a short cardio, stretch, and ARX. I have to get some groceries at some point. A nap would be good too. ;-) My kids have confiscated my computer to play on Webkinz. :) Hopefully, I'll get a turn so I can catch up here. ;-)

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. DS5 opened is choc bunny and said, "I got a llama!" LOL!:7

Have a good one!

Hiya Cheetahs!

Okay, done with my little marathon workout lol! What a blast and just what I needed to get back on track after this weekend. It *is* a bit discouraging to see how my cardio capacity has decreased over the past two months but very encouraging to see how much easier ME has become, although biceps are still killer }(...love that section, I thinks it's the evil laugh that gets me through it.

Just gonna jump in with personals starting today...

Cathy - LOL about the cabs helping with your work. See, this could have all been so much easier for ya if you had tried that first :p. Enjoy your workout! Love the new bunny :7!

Christine - Glad to hear dinner was fun....mmmmmmm, cheesecake *drools*. Don't ya just love some good bootie DOMS }(? I'm happy to hear that your finger is on the mend, too. Enjoy Spinervals!

Wendy - Uh, yeah, got a little food hangover this morning but my workouts certainly took care of that! Welcome to the curly club, BTW,...love the look on you. Now we share names and curls...so, when are you going *red* lol? Strange story about Joey...I hope he's back to his happy self. Oooh, all over DOMS is *niiiiiiice*.

Judy - So glad to hear you had a wonderful vacay! Oooh, another curly haired Cheetah, yay! Nice that you had a full house for Easter! I love your plan for the next couple of months...good luck!

Carole - Yeah, DSO actually ran before I did but doesn't have the *itch* to run that we do. He does it purely for weight management but he's been really plagued with minor injuries for the past six months. I *love* the family "egg" hunt...too funny! Enjoy your workout and, more importantly, your massage.

Dallas - So sorry to hear that your household is still under seige by the cruddies....{{{{VIBES}}}}} to all. Please take care of yourself! LOL about the "llama"!!!

Gotta skidaddle for now. I have a ton of little things to do around the house and then a boatload of errands that I've been trying to get to for the past month or so. It's not often I have two days off in a row (Sunday and today) so I need to take advantage of it. Talk to ya tonight!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Cathy - Hope you enjoyed IC#2. Good luck with the portfolio writing.

Christine - Cheesecake sounds yummy. Wish I could get a piece from Cheesecake Factory. Really sinful.

Wendy - Love the new curly do. No food hangover here. Just normal eating for me yesterday.

Wendi - Glad you enjoyed your weekend with SO. Nice food too.

Judy - Welcome back! Glad you had a safe and fun vacation.

Carole - Enjoy your workout and massage.

Dallas - Hope DS feels better.

I did Timesaver # 4 this morning with some chin ups/pull ups thrown in. It was just right for this morning. Don't have as much time when I have to work in another office.

Sorry to breeze through posts but I'm busy this morning. Hope everyone has a great day!

Jackie

Good morning all! Hope everyone had a fabulous Easter. Mine was pretty uneventful. Did get alot of packing, cleaning and painting done. It's back to work tonight for a couple.

Dallas- Your poor little DS!!:( That barky cough can be exhausting to deal with. I do hope you can manage a good nap today. ((HUGS))

Carole- Thanks for the recommendation of The Vegan Planet. I do believe I've heard you mention that one before. I'll definitely check that one out. Have a great massage today. I have a gift certificate for one at my local spa that I need to use!!

Judy- Welcome back!! We missed you--- I forgot..did you go to Fla?
I did find a very promising piece of property just south of Harrisburg actually. We're checking it out more this week. Cheese is definitely a difficulty for me with a Vegan diet but I found a great substitute that is based on soy milk... actually quite good!

Wendi- Has your DSO recovered yet? Poor thing, you'll have to condition him some more to outdoor running. Glad you have TWO WHOLE days off!!! Wow, must seem like a vacation! Awesome job with that mega workout today!

Christine- I just love the names of those Spinervals workouts!
I guess a long endurance based one does require Mental Toughness!
I chuckled over the nurse thinking you injured your finger with a tea kettle ;-)

Cathy- Hope you are off to a nice productive start to your Spring Break!!

Wendy- Love your new curly do!!! It definitely suits that cute pretty face of yours!! I wouldn't sweat much over Joey's escapades the other day. Most people understand that kids that age just get flaky now and then. Re: which cardio workout to do... why not all 3?????}( }( }( You knew I'd say that didn't ya?

Linda- Nice job with the 8 miler yesterday. Re books on Vegan diets.
For motivation I like "The China Study" and for getting started- a primer if you will (not a cookbook) "Becoming Vegan".

I think that about catches me up. For today I'll be doing a 6 mile run and Leaner Legs.

ShellyC

Jackie - Great job squeeking that workout in this morning! Don't you hate when that pesky little thing called work interrupts your workout plans ;).

Shelly - I hope this little stretch at work goes smoothly for you. I was happy to hear that you were able to spend some one on one time with that patient...that must be so rewarding! Nice to hear that you're chugging along on the moving "to do" list. WOW...6 miles and Meaner Legs...WOW! Yeah, the run yesterday was rough on him and I tried to pick the flatest route in the neighborhood. He was able to jog about 1/2 mile then walk for a tenth and so on. We only ended up logging about 3 miles but, hey, it was better than nothing.

Gotta split... see you all tonight!

Okay I lied – NOW I’m feeling the core work from Newport. Feels good! Did Mental Toughness (all but the last 4 minute set). It wasn’t the workout I thought it was – which is funny, actually – I had such a dread factor on this one, but it’s actually fun! I’ll have to pull it out more often. Nice little workout. :p

Cathy – I have KB Goddess – it’s a good workout in a lot of ways, but Andrea is sooo darned serious. I can only do it once in a while. I like the break down, though. I’m doing 3 days KB and 4 days cardio (one of the days is mixed). My rotation for the week looks like:
AOS Newport
Mental toughness (spinerval)
Off ( Yoga Burn probably_
Weber’s Extreme Kettlebell and a step workout
Have Mercy (spinerval)
AOS Firepower
Hike/trail run

Wendy – oh sorry! I missed you! Glad you have DOMS! Ya know, if you were Shelly, you’d do all three. But, for us mere mortals, hmm, I say IMax 2 strictly for the fun factor. What did you decide?

Wendi - Glad you had such a nice day with DSO! Sounds like it was a delicious day, too! Great workout this morning!! I think the ME Biceps will always be a killer. That one just HURTS! I agree with the evil laugh! She’s too funny.

Judy – Sounds like a nice vacation! I love full house holidays! We had all the kids home for dinner last night. It’s such a nice time.

Carole - 2 little beers?! :p I mentioned your hunt to my DH who said we should hide wine bottles. Could you imagine? When he realized what he had suggested he just laughed. Sounds like you had a nice day! Enjoy your massage!

Dallas – A llama? Oh your DS5 is too cute! I hope everyone is feeling better soon! Did you get a lot of snow?

Jackie – We do have a Cheesecake Factory close by and would you believe I’ve never been there? I usually try to avoid really good desserts, but sometimes I just give in! :p Good job in getting in a good workout in a shorter time frame!

Shelly – You’re moving right along, aren’t you? Good job at getting a lot in! Hope work is quiet. Enjoy your run and Meaner Legs! I like the Vegan Planet, too. I enjoy the recipes from it a lot! The Spinerval names are such guy things, aren’t they? They are funny. I think my favorite name is Hillacious.

I guess I’d better pretend to work or something… :p
Enjoy lovely Cheetah Ladies!

Hi Girls :) Been MIA last few days. Had a busy weekend. With DH off Friday and around this morning-- it tends to mess up MY time :) How dare he, huh? :)

I decided that I will do a 12 week training for a 10K. This will work on my speed and gear me up for half training maybe this fall. I know I can do 12miles..but having never ran a half, maybe its best to work on some speed.I decided to make Thursday my long run days. We shall see what happens :) But for now this is what I plan on doing.

Today's workout was 5 mile tempo run at the gym of course--darn snow x( I also worked my biceps to PUB and ME. I used the machines at the gym for my abs.

I'll have to go through the posts to catch up with you all :) Very chatty bunch :)

Christine: What's Newport?

Wendy: Love your hair

I'll be back :)Thanks again for the welcome

hello ladies,

carole- enjoy your workout today! not sure what shoes i will get i will wait and see what fleet feet says after they check him out.

christine- oh now you are going to have me pulling out newport before i want to...lol

kath- newport is a kettlebell workout. check out www.artofstrength.com

wendy- nice curly do! was this joey's first time seeing your aunt and uncle? my vote is for imax2!

dallas- oh i am so sorry to hear about ds being sick. sending healing (((vibes))). ds#2 has a slight cold and has been coughing thru the night also. he won't sleep in his own bed so he is right under me coughing and tossing and turning. i totally didn't want to get up early today. (((hugs))))

cathy- how much longer until you are done with the NB stuff? i do not have goddess workout. after reading how serious she is, i didn't think i would click with the vid.

wendi- what what a workout you did today!! you definitely made up for yesterday.

shelly- you are definitely moving right along. there is no slowing you down cheetah girl!

judy- welcome back!! yes we are all starting sometime in may for NWOL4W. i am starting at the very beginning of may. can't wait!!

jackie- don't ya just hate it when work has the nerve to get in the way of your workouts...lol glad you were able to still get in a good workout.

today's workout is my tt workout of the day followed by a 20 min icycle.

ttyl...:)

Good Afternoon Girls.

Thanks re: the new hair do! I really like it!

I don't have time for personals right now. It's time to get Joey up for his nap and get to my work out. I've taken the advice of Carole and Sunny and will do Imax 2 BUT what I am going to do is do the Imax2 blast only premix and follow it up with the 20 min TJ work out! FUN!}(

I opted out of the run this morning in favor of taking Joey to the park for a little while. It was quite cool but not bad at all so long as you had a proper coat on. He had fun. It's so nice to be able to start getting outdoors with him again. :)

BB after my work out!:)

Hey Girlz.

My work out is done, I'm showered and I've had a snack. Now I have coffee in hand and am ready to catch up with personals. :)

Cathy: I am sure you will plan many great ski trips next season. I'm looking forward to going again myself! I must be outta my mind! LOL :p

Judy: Yes, I got my hair permed on saturday morning. I went in there with only the intention of a trim and to possibly make an appointment for a perm. Well, it didn't take long before I was convinced to take the plunge right then and there! LOL I'm so glad I did it!:) To answer your question, YES, I plan to start NROL the week of May 4th. It all depends on when I've recovered from my May 4 HM that I'm running. So what did you think of the 2 running books you read? Glad you had a nice vacation. You got some great work outs in. That's fantastic! :) You must change your avitar to a pic of you with your new do!;)

Carole: Yes, I got a perm.:) So how was your massage today? Joey has met this particular aunt and uncle before. He doesn't see them regularly but he's definately been in thier company more then once! Oh well...you never know what the little ones will do, right?

Dallas: Sorry about the sickies goin' around again in your house. Trust me, I know what it's like. Very frustrating! x( So you are almost half way done with the X, huh? Good job! Are you liking your results so far? Are you keeping track of your stats and/or taking pics?

Wendi: Don't laugh...I'm serious...I've been dying my hair red on and off for quite some time now! I LOVE the color but can't find one that will take to my hair. It falls out too fast. x( DH wants me to try again soon though! Can you you say bobsy twins from hell!? LOL }(

Jackie: Thanks re the hair. Glad there was not a hang over of any kind for you this morning. :)

Shelly: I'm not surprised you suggested I do all 3 work outs! If I had a TM in my home I just might have tried it! LOL I did 2 out of 3 though! How's that for ya? }( Thanks re my hair. I needed a change in a big way and this fits the bill perfectly. :) So how's the house hunting going?

Christine: I took the advice of the Cheetahs and did Imax2 but I made my own mish mosh out of it so I could get some TJ in there as well. FUN! :) My DOMS increased as the morning went on so by the time I started working out I was REALLY feeling it! The dynamic arm movements in some of the blasts felt good on my oh so sore chest muscles though. :)

Kath: LOL about your DH being around messing you up. We all joke about that around here! My DH was off on friday and it really threw me for a loop. Thank goodness he was back to work today!:p GOod luck with the 10k training and I think you definately do a half. I only ran up to 10 miles when I trained for my first half last year and I finished! You can definately do it if you've already run 12 miles!:)

Sunny: Thanks re the hair. No, Joey had met this aunt and uncle many times before! I really don't know what spooked him but thankfully he got over it after a little while.:) How was today's TT work out?

Okay, looks like I'm caught up with personals. Time to get the munchkin up!

BBIAB!:+

Evening Cheetahs!

Just a quick stop in before I head to bed. Yup, you read right, bed at 7:00 lol!

Christine - Nice to hear that you enjoyed your Spinervals today! I have to agree with Shelly's comment about the titles...Hillacious is just plain funny! Nice week you've got planned there }(.

Kath - I have to agree that you are more than reasy for an HM right now. Yeah, DH and SO days off really mess with the schedule lol ;). Heehee, yeah, we are a *very* chatty bunch here!

Sunny - Sorry to hear DS is sick, too. {{{HUGS}}} for both of you! I still want to check out that TT training when I have a spare moment...right!!!

Wendy - NICE mish mosh today! you realize that you're enabling for those blasted TJ workouts now. I actually sat through the entire infomercial and I *never* do that! Oh, that's too funny about you going red on and off. It took me years to find someone who could find just the right shade that doesn't turn either green or orange within 2 weeks of having it done. Sometimes the cuts are a bit off but it's worth going (and the $$$$) for the right color.

Okay, so I think I'll take Wendy's cue (sort of) and hit Imax 2 in the morning...the normal version ;). I have got to get some monster cardio in this week to try and shed at least some weight before the horse show on Sunday...GAG!!!

Off to bed for me. Have a great night everyone!

Hey there!

Cathy - did you receive Extreme KB workout yet? I didn't order yet. I did get my Providence and it looks great! I do think I will be able to get into KB's nw. I don't know whether to get Firepower or EXtreme. Oh dear! Sorry you have to go into work!

Wendy - Your hair looks great! I love it! Hmmm....how strange with Joey's reaction! My grandson used to do that with my SIL. He would scream and hide behind Anna. We never could figure it out. But now he tags along after him and drives him nuts! :)

Christine - I checked out Firepower and Newport's clips. Both look great! Do you recommend Firepower over Extreme KB? Sunny....care to chime in, too?

Carole - Enjoy your workout and massage!

Shelly - Thanks for the Vegan recommendations! Enjoy your run and LL!

Judy - Glad you had a good vacation! Sounds wonderful!

Kath-Sounds like a good plan to ready for a half! Yes, absolutely you can do a 1/2 if you can do 12 miles!

Wendi = Wow ! You sound busy, busy!

Jackie - Good job on your workout! HOpe your mom is still doing well!

Well, I did receive my Providence Aos. It looks great! I can't wait to do it. Now...my dilemma....which do guys think would be best for me? Extreme KB with Steve Weber....or FirePower? I would like to have another "good" one. I have a $50.00 "credit card" and it is burning my pocket! :+

I didn't workout today! It was my rest day.

Talk to you guys later.

Kath – Yeah – how dare DH mess up your time?! They can be a pain. :p I think you have a great solid training plan. Running shorter and concentrating on running faster is a great idea. Newport - I think you got answered below – AOS Newport is an Art of Strength Kettlebell workout – the toughest of a fairly tough lot. And fun! :p

Sunny – You HAVE to do Newport. It’s right up your alley! Providence is great, but Newport – HOLY OUCH! Have fun today!

Wendy – Glad you were able to get Joey to the park today! Fresh air is always good! Your mish mosh sounds like fun! I love when a workout gets the blood moving through sore muscles! It hurts so good!

Wendi – Have fun with IMax2! I’m working on the monster cardio, too. I have to get off the Easter weight – although I was not TOO bad. And yes, the Spinervals titles are funny. Makes me smile to read through my titles. :p

Linda – Tough decision. If you can only get one, hmm, I like Anthony’s style better, I will admit. And the production quality is better. But there is something about Keith Weber and EKB that totally whips me – my only complaint is that he moves awfully fast. But if you have form down, it’s not too fast for safety and it gets the HR up there. If you do not have any pairs of kb’s – go for EKB as Firepower uses two in a lot of spots. Newport only uses one, but I do say get Firepower before Newport to get used to the rounds and the way they are put together.
