*pours tea down the hatch in the hopes of appearing slightly human this morning*

My alarm (on my cell phone) did not automatically adjust to DST, so I've been up since 3:30. I guess I have NO excuse not to do my hair this morning. *lol*

Christine :: that is interesting about the post-lifting weight gain. Haven't done S&H in a long while ~ I do enjoy that one...Thank you SO much for the support. This is such an amazing group of women here. I think you all "get" things sometimes more than some people IRL do.

A reminder for gift swap participants, when you get a chance, please post (to the thread) your "wish list" of at least 3 items to help your Secret Snowman shop for you. (Christine and I posted our lists to last night's thread.) Would it be possible for everyone to post her list before Thursday? I'll be going away til Sunday night and don't want to miss it!

Well, ladies, have a GREAT Monday! I will probably be working a little later today, but bi's & tri's are on the agenda for tonight. Yoga or stretch, if I can squeeze it in.

Good Morning Lovlies:)

I am still at work and didn't get nearly as much rest as the night before. I don't know why, I wasn't doing anything, I just kept doozing off and waking up! Ugh..anyway, I will catch some sensible shut eye when I get home.

Im not to sure what I want yet! hehe I know I need a new dyna band, mine snapped and I couldn't get one like it around here. Ill have to think of somethings and I will post them either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Im hoping to get out for a run at some point today. Whatever I do won't be done until after lunch.

Cathy, you have no excuses! Get that hair done! LOL

Have a good Mon everyone. I hate working weekends but love having Mon's off!:)
Lori:)

Hey Lori! It's great seeing someone else around at this ungodly hour...That's cool that you can doze a bit during downtime. Enjoy your run later or whatever you wind up doing... *lol* With hair as unruly as mine, it should count as extra biceps work! :7

Good morning cheetahs:) ,

cathy- i don't want to pry re: your situation. i truly hope things workout for you. i can't even imagine how you must feel. i know you are a strong person and will make it thru. happy working out today:)

lori- enjoy your run today!

christine- i am glad your team won yesterday. i missed the game, sounds exciting! i love s&h chest and back. i don't think there is another chest workout that gives me such DOMS.

today's workout is Kickbox yoga fusion by patricia morena and then later on this afternoon FB premix from Slo'mo.

have a great day ladies!!

Hey Sunny! Thank you...Cheetah support is SO appreciated!! I don't mind PMing the article to my friends here - I just hesitate to post it openly or to share too many details in this type of forum. It's not scandalous, but it is a controversial issue nonetheless...KB Yoga Fusion sounds cool. Have you done this one before? So are you loving Slo Mo? I'm wondering if it's a must-have.

Cathy, it IS an ungodly hour, isn't it? And its earlier there then it is here! LOL You poor thing! Id be whiped by the end of the day. I was going to keep DS home with me all day but I think he needs to get use to the sitter so he will go in the a.m, while I sleep and I will pick him up around 11ish:) My hair isn't that hard to do actually. I put gel in it and let it dry on its own for a bit, then do the rest with the hair dryer. Its a managable curl.

Sunny, enjoy your workout today:) Yes, there seems to be some talk about this Amy Bento's slow mo, any good? To tell you the truth, I don't think I have time for anything slow mo! hehe

Lori:)

Good morning everyone! I was too tired to do my run I had planned when I got home yesterday. Instead I did a 45 minute iTread when I woke up and got in 5.25 miles, feelin pretty good!:) Tonight has been unusually slow. I'm training some new nurses so I'm not actually taking care of patients, just directing so to speak. It makes for a nice change anyway:)

Cathy- With the trials you've had with your job I bet you are more than ready for this cruise now! I hope you'll be posting some pics of you in your dress you spent so much time shopping for! Sounds like a nice mix of workouts you have planned.

Lori- Hey fellow night shift worker! Wow, you get to SLEEP????
Where do I apply for your job??? I have to tell you a funny story.
A few weeks ago a nurse on my unit was dealing with a confused elderly lady who kept trying to get out of bed all night. This nurse kept telling her over and over to stay put, dont pull anything, etc, etc, (a common situation) Anyway, at the end of the shift this lady asked her "so when did you sleep dear?" Sue, the nurse told her
"I don't sleep, I stay awake all night and watch my patients" The lady then said..... "well, no wonder you're so crabby!"
A little oddball nursing humor there. Hope you get in your run today.

SunnyD- Good morning! Great job on the 11 miles yesterday!!!! Your half marathon is coming up pretty soon isn't it? That kickbox yoga fusion sounds interesting. Is it more kickbox or yoga?

Today will be a yoga day myself:eek: I'll be doing Baron Baptistes Core yoga since I couldn't fit in core work yesterday.

ShellyC

Lori :: Actually, I don't mind waking up early - I'm pretty much an early bird by nature. From your pics, I can see you have great hair. When I'm time-crunched, I do the ponytail or scrunch it, but I love how my hair looks when it's blown out. Just takes too long!

Shelly :: *lol* about the patient comment...Yeah, I'm ready for a getaway!! I will definitely post a few pics upon return. You would think beach wedding would make dress shopping simpler, but it didn't. Enjoy your yoga today! :)

OK, gotta jet! BBL later today.

A little more catch up on personals. It was a very busy chatty day yesterday:eek:

Lorie- You have such an amazing amount of personal fortitude IMHO!!!
That exDF must have some major screws loose to be letting a gem like you get away. Don't worry about the LV thing sweetie. There will be other cheetah GTGs. Who knows, maybe you and your SO will end up going to Vegas anyway, just not to get married. Did you get in some good therapeutic kickboxing?

Wendi- Glad your horse show went well. My boss told me that she offered me the photo shoot opportunity thinking I'd like it. I told her to let the young cute ones do it;-)

Carole- Wow, so the huge flooring project is actually almost done:eek:   Cant wait to see pics of this! Great job on getting through the 16+ mile yesterday!!! Sounds like you are more than ready for LV:7

Wendy- AHA! bitten by the marathon bug I see! I actually find marathons to be easier than half marathons.... weird I know but that's cause I can pace myself much better with the long distances.
On the half marathons I tend to start out way too fast. I bet you'd be just fine doin the 26.2!!!!!!

Jackie- Holy cow girl! I'm amazed you were able to finish this HM considering the schedule you've been on!!! Great job!!! I don't care what the finishing time was...... you're amazing!!

Linda- I love your attitude! You also ran a great race and that you felt good was the best part:7 :7 You obviously ran a very smart race.
Congratulations!

Christine- interesting observation about the weight gain following a strength workout! What's in store for you today?

Okay, I guess I better look busy now. Don't want to set a bad example for my slaves..... ooops, I mean orientees;-) Just kiddin
I love em!

here i am again stalling because my legs don't want to move after yesterday's long run...what do you ladies do to aid in recovery after a long run?

cathy- i will look for your pm. i haven't done the kb/yoga workout yet, this will be my first time. i will let you know my thoughts.

lori- lol, i hear you. it's hard to do anything slo when you have a baby...:7

shelly- yes, my hm is 12/1. i am ready for it to be done and over with. i will let you know re: the kb/yoga workout as soon as i am done as today will be my first time trying it out. speaking of itrain-where are the nov workouts???

ok, enough stalling i am off to workout before i miss my opportunity.

BBL.....

Good morning early birds!

Well, I overslept enough that I don't have time for my workout this morning so I will fit it in tonight. I am determined to get back on track this week. My plan looks something like this....

M - HIS/LIS step, Shoulders (might try the core)
T - 4DBC, Bis and Tris
W - 5 mile run
Th - HIS step, 4DKB cardio, Legs
F - Rest
S - 6 mile run
Su - ?

I think I'll then try a week of BBC...I might pay for that idea though !

Lorie - {{HUGS}}. I'm not great at giving advice but I'm a good listener and have to agree with the rest of the ladies here. Your head is in the right place and I all I can do is wish you the best.

Linda - I figured it was a safety reason. I always thinks about that when I see people running with them...I like to hear when there is someone (or something) coming up behind me. Plus, I find running to be my quiet time where I can let my mind wander and do some serious thinking.

Cathy - I had no idea your problems at work were that bad! Extra {{{{HUGS}}}} to you dear! I had heard about Katie Holmes...how long ago did she give birth? It doesn't seem like she was in training for very long. If you don't mind I'm going to "steal" one of you gift ideas!

Christine - I was thinking about you and Carole last night when I flipped past the game with about 3:45 left to play and the Pats were down. I'm glad they pulled it out! I'll have to check out those burritos...I *love* Mexican :9!!!! I know my massage therapist wouldn't do couples (and that she's more into inflicting pain than pleasure. J/K...she's actually wonderful!) so I'll have to look around. I'm thinking I'll do that as a Christams gift. Thanks for the idea!

Lori - I don't know how you guys do the graveyard shift ! I think that would kill me. I hope you get some good shut eye when you get home. Enjoy your run!

Sunny - ITA about S&H, Chest and Back...*LOVE* it!!! Enjoy your workouts today!

Shelly - But you *are* a young cute one, love! I can't blame you for declining, though. It certainly wouldn't have been my first choice either. LOL about the "crabby" comment...too funny :+. Go crack that whip a those slaves J/K!

Well, I've got to get moving and shaking. See everyone tonight after my workout!

I forgot to add my "wish list"...

1 Pr risers for *Studio* Step (10"X14")...the small purple ones

Runner's World Subscription

Cathe's High Step Training Advanced...I know it's close to our cap

Purple Dyna-band

Weight Lifting Gloves

If I think of anything else I'll post it by tonight

Thanks!

Good (?) Morning Cheetahs-

After having been off the computer for the weekend this Cheetah is uninformed, but from what I can tell hugs are in order! Gosh I am sad for our cheetahs having difficult life issues! You ladies really are special to make contact with each day.

Cathy::: What ever is going on in your work situation I will sincerely pray for you. {{{hugs}}}

Lorie::: You also need sincere prayers for your personal DF situation. {{{hugs}}}

Lori::: I see you are back to work. I thought of you while flying this weekend. We arrived at the airport at 4am to try to get on a stand by flight back yesterday.

Christine::: congratulations on your Pats! Boston College lost on Saturday so my two sons are S-A-D! On the other had the Bills have won the last three games!

Carole:: I briefly saw that you accidentally ran 16+ miles?! Your description of the last 3 sounds he((ish ! How do you feel today?

Shelly::: I read what you said about liking marathons more than halves. Interesting. You must be wried for distance :) I find it interesting that Arizona doesn't do daylight savings. We save a lot of money on energy consumption by using daylight savings but when it comes to an end I don't particularly care for it. It is too dark now in the late afternoons. DH will not see daylight until his day off.

Sunny::: did you race yesterday or have a long training run? I hope your legs recover quickly

Wendi::: Your plan for the week looks good.

Hi Wendy , Linda, Jackie!

I signed up for a series of 8 Pilates classes at our golf club on Thursdays. I'm hoping to make Thursday a short cardio/ run? day before the class each week. Today will be an iTread run and possibly legs or one upper body part from 4DS. I have to work out the week now with 3-4 runs, Pilates and each weight part of 4DS once.

Good Morning to my Feline Friends.;)

Holy Moly there's been a TON of chatting going on here since I last posted y'day! I'm gonna have my work cut out for me with personals this morning. :p

I am still w/cold and my back is still sore. :-( Actually, I don't think I posted the back issue here yet. I woke up the other morning with a very sore back (upper area right where the shoulder blades are...I'm a P/T and couldn't tell you what muscles are in that area!DOH!LOL). It's quite strange as I haven't done any work outs that I can imagine would have caused this DOMS type feeling there. Very wierd. The up side is that the cold is getting better and hopefully will be gone very soon. :)

I am going to play today by ear as to wether I work out or not. I haven't taken a complete rest day in about 2 weeks and am considering one for today depending on how I feel after work. I am still doing Slo-Mo this week regardless though so don't count me out on that!}(

I will try to think of some gift exchange ideas and get them posted today.

Carole: I am glad to hear that I am not crazy re: a 2009 marathon! Hope you enjoyed your beer and football yesterday. :)

Sunny: My slo mo week was going to be organized similarly to a week of the P90X classic rotation but in light of the fact that I may take a rest day today, I'll have to switch things around so to answer your question....I HAVE NO CLUE! :7

Cathy: Why didn't you go back to bed when you realized it was 3:30 in the morning!?!? LOL Disney has crossed my mind for 2009 but I don't really know much about what it has to offer. I'll have to read about it one day. I have always liked the sounds of the "Rock n Roll" marys though! They are apparently held in a few different states and different times of the year. I think that would be a blast. So would you mind Pm'ing me that article? Thank you so much for trusting us with this. (((hugs))) I truly hope the situation is taken care of soon so you can stop stressing.

Linda: You are no slower then I am girl! LOL Check out my half time below vvvvvvv !!! :) Just being able to run one is quite an accomplishment so having what is considered a slow time doesn't bother me. Yes, I'd like to get faster but knowing I am capable of FINISHING it is more important. :+

Wendi: I hope you are able to go back to school if that's what you want to do. What kind of degree are interested in getting? Your hours are HARSH to do consistently. I gotta hand it to ya, I could NEVER work that many hours. You are one tough and dedicated chick!

Lorie: Glad to hear that things have atleast calmed down re: DF. Take some time and see how it goes. See how you feel. No need to make a big decision right now. In any regard, I think you definately should go to LV anyway! I think it's just what you need right now! :+

Christine: Glad you enjoyed the game. DH was watching it and I was telling him about the diehard Cheetah football fans here. I had no clue why that game was such a big deal. He told me it was because those 2 teams are undefeated. Okay...sounds good to me!:+

Lori: Sorry you didn't get a good rest last night. Hope you can get a work out in today no matter what you choose.

Shelly: Yay for Shelly getting some sort of a break. I find training more stressful then doing it myself though. LOL Hope your "slaves" stay in line cause I know you could give 'em one heck of a butt-whoopin' if they try to misbehave!:7 TY re: my thoughts of a full marathon. It's scarey as heck but really is something I would like to say I've done atleast ONCE in my life! I'll defiantely do the half again. :)

Judy: Have fun with your pilates classes. Hope you had a nice weekend.

Good morning ladies! Wow, we are chatty bunch this morning. :) Not much to report workout wise from this weekend. The family and I spent most of our time traveling to and from Indy. None of us got much sleep. Last night we all slept well. :) Today is a new day. I plan to run 5 miles tonight after the kids are in bed, probably while watching Dancing with the Stars. DH left this morning for Columbus, GA. He has an 8 hour drive ahead of him. Needless to say the kids, dogs, and I are flying solo until Friday.

As far as the gift exchange, I'm open for anything. Maybe a pilates or yoga tape. I don't have but one of each. Christine suggested Eoin Finn's "Power Yoga for Happiness" a little while back. Other than that I can't think of anything else. Sorry I'm not much help in coming up with ideas. I don't mean to be so difficult.

Well, I'll try to BBL to catch up with personals. WAVES to all Cheetahs!

Hey all you runners,

Will you please pardon my dropping in?

I have a question regarding the iTread programs.

Which do you have and really like?

Is there somewhere here on the Forum about iTread rotations?

I would really like it if someone could get back me on this. I am loving the iTread programs so far! I currently have set:#23 40min and Tag Team, all of set 1 and set #21 Intervals.

Thank you so much in advance for any info. that you can provide! :7

Good Morning All!

Today is LIC cardio timesaver and LIS. Then in the afternoon I'll do S&H. I did change that up, but I figured it was okay. :+ I did not have enough cardio in my week. Did you hear about the NYC Marathon’s female winner Radcliff – she gave birth 10 months ago – and ran an hour the day before she gave birth. Amazing.

Cathy – Bummer – you have to do your hair today – eh? Sorry about your phone and early wake up call! Have you noticed that when we meet – it’s the same way – we all understand each other. I love the Catheites and the Cheetahs in particular!!! Do you mind PMing the article to me? I’ll admit to being curious. But, if you’d rather not, that’s fine, too.

Lori – enjoy your sleep and your run! Sorry you didn’t get much sleep.

Sunny – I have a good set of DOMS. I actually wondering if I’ll get a barbell over my head for B&G! Thanks for the support with the Pats!

Shelly – That story was cute! Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you got a decent run in anyway. How many hours do you actually sleep when you’re on duty? 12 hour shifts don’t leave much time left. Enjoy Yoga! *falls over in dead faint* :p

Wendi – I’m a big fan of Mexican, too – lived in New Mexico for a while and really enjoyed the food! Exciting game yesterday! Wow! I like to mix things up, too. I’m holding you responsible for your workout tonight!! :+ I’m going to eat clean today, too! :p

Wendy – are you saying we’re catty? :+ Wow – I hope you feel better soon! I think maybe a rest day would be good, but you know best. The other reason the game was so important is because whoever won (the Pats, thank you very much – but by the skin of their teeth!) has home field advantage when the teams meet again during the playoffs for the Super Bowl.

Judy – Sorry about Boston College’s loss! I think college losses are harder than pro – it’s so personal. The Bills are doing well. In our little pub, there’s a group of die hard Bill’s fans who meet for every game. I always know what’s going on with the Bills. They’re a good group. Oh, have fun with your pilates class! Classes are more fun than the videos – I really like them.

Kristi – I know – we kitties can chat, can’t we? I’m in the same boat as you although my DH is going to Tampa for the week. Just me DD14 and the two dogs. Did you have a good time in Indy?

Hi to all who follow! Happy (?) Monday!

hi lovelies!

i slept way too late and am now going to have to rush, rush, rush (i still want to get a workout in...maybe step...seems i haven't done that in ages). i will read and do personals later but wanted you all to know we are working on things. we will talk more tonight. i can not tell you how much your cheetah love means to me!!!

he did say that we could still go to LV so i could see some of my girls!!! i hope we still do. i may end up signing up for the half now that i don't hav to worry about it being a "honeymoon trip."

i am in a bright mood today and i swear it has to do with you ladies and your kind and wonderfully heartwarming words. i feel so comforted.

be back in a bit. i have to decide what workout to do. i am actually thinking IMAX2. i just got it and have never done it. i'm just worried because i HATE IMAX3...too, too dancy (do love the blast only premix, though).

be back later, chickies!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I think this trip coming up is sure at a good time for you!! The Pirate theme sounds fun. I had no clue about Katie doing NYC! Thanks for the pic. I have not checked the time on my cell phone, I guess I better. Enjoy bi's and tri's today.

Lori...I am off on Mondays too...:)...hope you get a run in.

Shelly...sounds like a nice break at work for you. Do you like training? Enjoy Baron...that is a nice yoga workout. Yes the floor is almost done...if DH would put off hunting it would probably be done already...I was happy to run 16 miles. I have not done that distance in over a year! Of course my quads are talking to me today.

Wendi...my quads today are feeling the run! The game was great. I enjoyed watching and it did keep you on the edge of your seat! Hope you get your workout in tonight. Looks like a good rotation.

Wendy...sorry about the cold and sore back. It is weird when you get these random pains and not quite know what you did. A rest day might be a good idea. I will be playing with Slo-mo today.

Judy...when my sister and I 1st talked about the course she thought it was about 12-13 miles, but I remembered about 3 miles she forgot about!! So she said that we could always do some walking....did we?...NO!! My quads are sore as this course starts off with about 2 miles of a downhill.

Heidi...welcome...I don't have a Treadmill but I use iClimbs on my Elliptical. I don't use many iTreads but other here do and can probably answer your question.

Kristi..I bet your week will be busy with DH gone. Enjoy your 5 miles.

Christine...Yes a great game!! I think the Pats did play better than the Colts. I am feeling the run this morning! Enjoy your cardio and S&H later.

Lorie...I am happy to hear you 2 are working on things. That is great you will get to go to LV still!! I don't think Imax2 is as dancy as Imax3.

Linda...Way to go on the HM!! re Paula...I can only dream about running that fast!! I bet with the right training you can complete a marathon easily, your 1st one you never go for any specific time. You just go to finish. Glad you will be joining us with Slo-Mo.

Sunny...I think I will do Slo-mo in parts. My legs are sore too...usually some low impact cardio helps me, and I might roll on the roller some.

I managed to sleep in a little today. Not sure what cardio I will do but hopefully something low impact, like the EXT or LIS or LIC to work out the quad soreness...but I am going to do shoulders, bi's and tri's from Slo-mo.

Have a great day...:)

Hi Carole,

Thank you for the reply. I guess I will have to hope that the others can help me with this question.

I just finished my workout for this morning. GS Legs, KPC Abs and a good stretch. Feeling the burn!}(

Have a great day! :)
