::: CHEETAHS ::: Melt it off Monday

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good Monday morning, cheetahs! :7

That thread title is for anyone like me who has some meltin' down to do this week. I gained 2 lbs., thanks to my holiday weekend indulgences.

I’m happy to see those troublesome threads have been removed from the O/F.

Jackie :: the online shopping is a beautiful thing, isn't it? :)...Are your iClimbs intervals or do you have some of the steady-state ones, too?

Wendy :: how’s the ankle feelin’ this morning?

Well, that was kinda short, but I believe that catches me up for personals.

http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/holiday/stocking.gif http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/holiday/stocking.gif http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/holiday/stocking.gif Gift swappers!!! :: most folks agreed they would like to open our gifts on Christmas Day…Oh, and in case you weren’t around this holiday weekend, I re-posted everyone’s wish lists to yesterday’s thread.

Today begins my new holiday boot camp rotation (fat loss concentration)…I am determined NOT to gain through x-mas this year!!!...As usual, Monday calls for yoga or a stretch later tonight. I might have to add a little bit of EXT. :) Oh, I forgot…yesterday I added on LIC abs, Squeeze abs and buns & thighs, doing some of the ab work on the BOSU. Was a good added burn.

Have a GREAT day...will BBL.

early morning greetings to all. i DO NOT feel like being up right now. i ended up taking yesterday off and am toying with the idea of a rest week (or at least a couple of days off). i have been training pretty hard lately. also, i am just not excited about working out today and that's usually a sign i need a break. then again, it's so cold, who would want to get out of bed right now?!?! we'll see. i'm sure i'll find my motivation somewhere.

i have to drop my car off this morning to be fixed, pick up a rental car, then i have meetings at work. hopefully, i will find time to be back for personals later!

Mornin' cheetahs,

today's workout will be 4DS Chest and back and KB.

wendy- CONGRATULATIONS!!! i knew you would conquer that 15K. you have made some awesome running accomplishments. you are my she-ro!!

cathy- i am with need you, need to melt off a couple of lbs due to being overly indulgent the past week. enjoy your workout today. you are certainly making use of the ext. that's great!!

lori- maybe took should be a rest day for you? sounds like you are in need of one:) . have fun with whatever you decide to do!

christine- yes, my plan is too use the spinervals for next year's training. now i wish i would hav also gotten flexible warrior 3.0 oh well that one is next...lol

off to get ready for work...ttyl:D

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

Im just sitting here waiting for DS to wake so I can spend a bit of time with him before I go to work. This week will be the first time he as spent two full days at the sitters, and right up until 5. Im sure the day isn't nearly as long for him as it is for me. I can't stop in to see him either. I could but that would just result in me leaving and him crying...not a good idea.
I didn't get a chance to come up with a rotation yesterday so I will do it at work today:) I can just kind of sit there with my paper and brain and my boss won't know what I am up to. I will post it when I am done.
I also haven't worked out yet. I just can't get to bed early enough to get up at 5 to workout. Plus, I know if I have the energy and evening workout would be better for me. Not to mention, time is on my side in the evenings.

Cathy** Yes, the dreaded holiday weight gain! Lucky for me, I alwayss lose...not sure how that happens. And this yr b/c of work I am going to miss a few gatherings and so that means i will be eating less.:) I don't know if I will lose weight this yr though b/c I am the lightest I have been in yrs. I use to drop about 5 lbs christmas time and I loved the way I looked, but I never knew how I took it off, so I didn't know how to keep it off! By the middle of Jan it was back again. Is your rotation a cathe one?

Lorie** If you feel like you need a break, take one. I felt pretty good when I took two unplanned rest days last week.Sometimes a break is better then the working out!

Wendy** Good job girl!! We are all so proud of you! I didn't get to check in last night. I bet you are sooooo happy you went!!!???

I will check in again when I get to work and see what I missed yesterday. Lets all hope that Monday speeds by people!

Lori:)

Good morning all! Been having a pretty smooth night at work so far so I have time to chat a bit:)

Cathy- You are SO UBER organized!!! Christmas shopping already almost done:eek:  Love your thread title today.... very appropriate for the week after Thanksgiving. Have you adjusted your rotation to fit in the EXT work now?

Lorie- Sounds like a rest week is a good idea... good luck with the car today.

SunnyD- Having fun with the 4ds series? How are you coming along with the shopping?

Lori- Great job yesterday with your 10 mile run! Hope you can work out your rotation today. I almost never do a rotation because my schedule is so erratic.

Jackie- Hope your rest day was a good one. I'm not really into the whole carb loading thing. My diet is pretty intense in carbs as it is. The only thing I focus on with diet is not to eat anything very different.... don't want to be dealing with any stomach issues on marathon day!

Judy- We all get a vicarious thrill out of reading race reports....
almost as fun as writing them! Going out for a run in the cold weather today?

Susan- Wow, tree up and house decorated already? I think that is great you are going to visit your Dad over Christmas. With your Mom gone now it'll mean ALOT to him to have you there! How did the date night go?

Wendy- May I offer yet one more congratulations on your fabulous performance yesterday? I know, you can really never get enough of those ;-) That was such a nice note yesterday about this cheetah group of ours.... I am in full agreement! My ankles are usually sore after a trail race.... the uneven surfaces do put more stress on them. Re: the LV marathon. For the cheetahs there will only be me and Carole who is doing the half. Carole is coming with her sisters
and one of them is running the half with her.

Carole- Yikes, you don't need any new pains now!!! Hope that massage takes care of it. I'll be e-mailing you in the next couple of days with my phone number... it is different from the one I was using on the RT. I think I still have yours but you might as well send it to me again if you don't mind.

Linda- So you had the guts to get back on that old killer TM??? I'm proud of ya! Hope your day goes well.

Hi Christine!

I think that about catches me up. For today it'll be core work and stretching only :)

ShellyC

Greetings YaYa Cheetah Sisters!

I think we have become a true Sisterhood of Cheetahs.

Wendy -How is your ankle this morning?

Cathy- I generally do one EXT /iClimb per week or every other week. I may do them more after my spin classes are over. Cathy, I am determined not to gain weight this holiday season too. I did well on Thanksgiving, It was later in the weekend when I was overtired that I probably ate too much.

Linda- Thank heavens you have had a successful run after the TM fall!

Lorie- I agree you may need a rest or a change up of some sort.

Lori- nice 10 miler! Give that little DS some extra hugs from the Cheetah Sisters! My DS are both much bigger than me now, but I still hug them!

Carole & Shelly- You are both in taper mode. Keep rested and let us know every detail!

Susan- How was the Jazz and Sushi with DH?

Edit: Hi Shelly! no cold run today. I did enjoy the cold run on Saturday but, I have spin class with Mr. Buff Body, and a few ladies.

Hi Sunny I missed you up there!

Shelly** I have a hard time following rotations, not b/c of my schedule but b/c it hasn't to have workouts in their that I am in the mood to do. I usually just pull out whatever I am in the mood for that day and with a rotation its kind of hard to do.

Sunny** You snuck in on me. Enjoy your workout today. I thought about doing that one if I got my lazy butt out of bed today but I didn't get it out in time! Im going to bed early tonight though. DH as hockey at 9:30 and I told DD I would lie down with her. I will be asleep by 10...for sure:)

Judy** They grow up to fast don't they? When I was preggo it dragged on FOREVER! But I can't beleive he is almost a yr old:eek: He will be 11 monthes on the 4th of Dec. He is standing on his own now but no desire to walk yet. I hope he doesn't start walking at the sitters!!!!!

No rotation made up yet. Its only 8:30 here...long day to go yet. I only have 30 mins punched!

Oh and what was going on over on the OF boards? I don't go over their very often anymore. What did I miss????
Lori:)

Good Morning Cheetahs.

Well, my muscles don't appear to be sore so that's good. I don't think I told y'all this but I went to GNC on saturday looking for a recovery drink. I ordered a full canister of Recoverite from Hammer but not in time for use on race day. It's due to get here on Tuesday!

So anyway, they really didn't have anything like Recoverite so the sales guy talked me into a small container of an unflavored powered Glutamine which is supposed to aid in recovery. I bought it, unsure if it would work. Well, I followed the instructions and I must say, my thighs really are NOT sore! I guess it worked! I know I really wasn't sore after my 10 miler during HM training but I was far less aggressive during the training run AND there were absolutely NO hills. I had great potential for being sore after y'day I think. I'm happy that I'm not even if the Glutamine had nothing to do with it!:p

My joints hurt though. My ankle is still sore though it doesn't feel as bad as it did y'day. My hips are really sore and my knees too a little.

I have to go to work this morning. YUCK! After that I am going to do whatever I can to avoid the urge to work out today. LOL

Cathy: Good luck with your new rotation girl! You can do it! :) So I guess we will be opening the grab bag gifts on Christmas Day then?

Lorie: Rest rest rest. I'll be telling myself that today too! What's wrong with your car? Nothing serious, I hope!

Sunny: LOL--->SHE-ro! Very cute! :+ Thanks Sunny girl! It'll be your turn to get the praise soon! I can't wait!

Lori: Awwww, I'm sure you miss DS so much! It's funny cause he surely forgets about missing you in minutes and you will think about it all day. It really bothers the parents more then it does the kids I think. So did you make up a rotation yet?

Shelly: No Lorie in LV!? I thought she was gonna go!!!!! Phbbbbt! I wish I could've gone! *stamps feet and pouts* Oh well. We are getting together for a half/full in the future so that works!;) Thanks for the continued congrats. I feel like a superstar! :+ LOL

Judy: Mr. Buff Body! Cute! LOL So do you stare at him the entire time? }(

BBL!

Wendy** It not working!!!! Or maybe its just me? LOL
Yes, that always helps to remember that we miss them more then they miss us. Just like when they have to get their needles, its hurts us more then them.I had myself worried sick the first time he got his needles and DH finally said.."really,it is only a needle". True enough...not the end of the world!

Still no rotation yet.Im actually doing something:)
Lori:)

*Stumbles into forum, bleary eyed, tea in hand* YAWN!!! Darn! Morning came too early today! Today will be B&G Leg Press Premix – if I can get my legs working at all!

Cathy – glad those threads have been removed too! I’d be interested in seeing your Holiday BootCamp rotation! Great workout yesterday!

Lorie – I’m with you on the not wanting to be up right now! You deserve a rest day after your half! Enjoy yourself! Sorry about your car issues!

Sunny – Try one of the more traditional ones as well – they are hard core! But all of them are fun. Enjoy 4DS C&B and KB!

Lori – Must be tough to have DS at the sitters for 2 full days. He’ll do fine, but it’s still tough. {{{HUGS}}}. I’m up at 4:30, and I’m still having difficulty getting motivated to workout! I’ll do it, but… Enjoy your evening workout – doesn’t matter when you do it, as long as you do it!

Shelly – Glad you’re having a smooth night *knocks on wood* Enjoy your taper day!

Judy – enjoy your spin class!

Wendy – Glad to hear you are not sore! Those drinks must make a difference! Hope your ankle continues to feel better, as well as your hips and knees. The sore hips are the hills – you really work the hip flexors on hills. I can’t see the photo – it wants a sign in. :(

Carole - yeah, weird day in football yesterday. The Raiders won (YAY!) and the Pats almost lost to the Eagles!!! No offense to Eagles fans, but the JETS beat the Eagles. They certainly played well last night. I did not think the Pats would pull it off!

Who's going to be ordering online today? I noticed a lot of places have free shipping... I already have a bunch of stuff coming. I have to go to Chicago next week for work. I'm going to leave on Sunday to visit a grade school friend and her SO (and their cats). I might do some shopping there, as I will have most of Monday to wander around. I plan to get in a good workout at the fitness center, though. :p

Cathy...I do one or two iClimbs a week usually. Way to go with the long workout yesterday. Melting off some lbs sounds good..

Lorie...sounds like a few days of rest would be good.

Sunny...enjoy your 4DS workout.

Shelly...I hope the pain is nothing too. I will be happy to email you my number...:)

Lori...did you come up with a rotation yet??

Wendy...I hope your ankle gets better soon. It is probably from the uneven surfaces of the trail. Sometimes after long trail runs I have my chiro nephew adjust my ankles. Sounds like the Glutamine drink might have helped prevent sore muscles. I cannot view the pic without a password.

Christine...yes, Football was weird yesterday. A lot of OT games also. I know all the years I have watched FB the undefeated team can usually get beat by a lame one. I did figure the Pats would kick a$$ last night but the Eagles gave them a game.

Linda...that is what I have always liked about trails...no traffic! Luckily those posts got deleted...:)...Good job getting back on the TM. I will have to get back to 4DS after my half...

Jackie...yes, DH has been much better. I hope the pain is nothing too. I know the massage will help.

Well no workout this AM. My sister just called and she has to put her old dog down...:(...she was in tears and wants me to go with her. I know how hard this is...we have had to put down our last 3 dogs over the last 4 years.

I will bbl after the massage...

Carole - give my condolences to your sister. I'm glad you're going with her. It's so hard. {{{HUGS}}} to her. At least the Eagles gave the Pats a game and it was a good one - not a boring game like most of the Pat's games are. And you're right - it's typically a lame team that brings down the undefeated.

I ended up wanting a tough cardio workout instead, so I did Spinervals Enter the Red Zone. This is one of my favorite Spinervals. I had a great time. This afternoon may be LL, 4DS Legs, or I may just bite the bullet and do B&G Leg Blast. We'll see.

Christine** Good job on the workout. No online shopping for me today! I did some yesterday through ebay. I love buying clothes from VS but their shipping is outrageous!

Carole** I feel for your sister! Doesn't sound like a good start to your day.

Here is somewhat of a rotation I just created:

Mon:4DS Bic,Tri,Shoul, + Run
Tues:Cardio and Abs
Wed:CTX UB + run
Thurs:BM2 (first 2 seg) 4DS legs
Fri:4DS Bic,Tri,Shoul + Run
Sat: Cardio (not sure what)
Sun: OFF

Mon:Scrammbled Eggs + abs
Tues:pUB Bic,Tri,Shoul + cardio
Wed: Run + abs
Thurs: 4 DS UB + cardio
Fri: Shorter run + GS legs
Sat" Long run + GS UB's

I haven't decided if I will do this rotation all over again the following two weeks or if I will take a week of circuit work and running, then go back to it again. My cardios will be straight cardio or interval, and my runs will be from 4 miles up...pretty much whatever I have the time for. I didn't want to put in a specific workout cause I want to do whatever I am in the mood for.
What do you think???
Lori:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Wendy - The pastor did ask how long had it been since he touched my hand. :) I'll be right there with you renewing that iTrain membership. It has really helped my running. Hope all the aches and pains go away.

Cathy - Bet you had fun finding those 2 lbs. I'm sure they will be gone in no time. I have some steady state iClimbs as well as the iBi, iTri and circuits. Fun to change it up. Good luck with your holiday boot camp rotation.

Lorie - You do sound like you could use a few extra days of rest.

Sunny - Enjoy your workout today.

Lori - I'm sure you will come up with a good rotation. If I didn't do my workouts in the morning, they wouldn't get done.

Shelly - Glad you had a good night at work. I was always afraid of tummy issues with all of my races but I made it ok.

Judy - How was spin class with Mr. Buff? Do you have a good view? :)

Christine - I'll be ordering on line when I get home. I want to go through ebates and can't do it from work. Good workout! Yay!!

Carole - Sorry DS has to put dog down. Know it has to be hard for her. Like a member of the family. Enjoy your massage.

I did 4DS HIS. Really enjoyed this one. A few more times through and I'll have the steps. Will need to keep the impact low.

Hope everyone is enjoying your Monday!

Jackie

no time for personals right now, but i wanted to pop in for a minute. i still have my car as my drivers license expired on my bday (didn't even think to notice) and i can't rent a car without a valid license. so, i will have to wait until i can get to the renewal place to get a new license. of course, they are not open today. i am going to try to go sometime this week.

i ended up doing iTread #7 and ran 6 miles in 52:30. why i couldn't run like that for my half...i don't know. i think the next race i do, i am going to use an outdoor iTread. i just think grace pushes me a lot more.

anyway, at work and in a really funky mood today. it's cold and rainy so that might have something to do with it.

Sorry for posting a bum link.

I tested it before I posted it and it worked at the time.

UGH!

Oh well....

I'll be back.....:)

Hello Cheetahs! What a busy Thanksgiving! The family got back yesterday. Hence, why you haven’t heard from me since Tuesday. This is the first year I didn’t go shopping on Black Friday. Nothing I had to buy. Besides the sales they were having I can catch the same sale in a couple weeks at the store of my choice. It was nice to not have to deal with the hordes of shoppers With the exception of 1 present and 5 gift cards, I am done with my shopping. I went shopping a little over 2 weeks ago and knocked out over 3/4 of my Christmas list. I’ve also had my Secret Santa present since then too. Now all I have to do is get it ready to send out.

Not much to report here. I ate way too much the whole time I was gone. My MIL doesn’t make anything healthy, but everything was so delicious. However, I did get in a 7 miler on the treadmill Saturday. Tonight I plan to watch Dancing with the Stars and run 3-4 miles of intervals on the treadmill.

Wow, I have a lot of personals to catch up on. Sorry I won’t be able to go back to the last week to read up on everyone.

Wendy – Great job on the 15K! You should be so proud of your accomplishment. Glutamine does do a good job in recovery. My DH used to

Cathy – I missed it. What troublesome threads are you referring to? I’m with you on not wanting to gain during Christmas. Luckily I didn’t gain during Thanksgiving. Today I started back again on zigzagging calories. I have between 25 and 35 pounds I would like to lose. It is doable and it will help me run faster for my HM in April. Opening gifts on Christmas day is fine with me. This is the first year ever that the family will not have to travel anywhere for the holidays. How are you liking your EXT?

Lori – Your rotation looks really good!

Linda – I’m sorry to hear about your treadmill fall. Are you okay?

Shelly – I can’t believe your marathon is Saturday. I’ll be cheering for you and all the cheetahs. Enjoy your stretch and core work.

Susan – You are on the ball with your Christmas decorating. I need to get my butt in gear. This is the first year our family will be home for the holidays. I normally don’t go to the trouble of decorating when we are not going to be home.

Christine – Enjoy B&G Leg Press Premix. My legs would be screaming at me if I did that one. No shopping online for me today. I ordered my mother a serger a couple weeks ago online and received free shipping. I love it when I don’t have to pay for shipping and also so sales tax. Have fun on your Chicago trip!

Carole – I’m so sorry to hear your DS has to put her dog down. That is such a sad moment. ((HUGS)) to her during this difficult time.

Hi Lori, Judy, SunnyD, & Jackie! I’ll try to BBL to catch up some more.

Christine..thank you..:) I will give my sister your condolences...yes true, at least the Eagle/Pat game was exciting!! Your spinerval workout sounded tough.

Lori...kind of a sad way to start my day, but I was glad to do it for my sister. Looks like a good rotation.

Jackie...thanks, yes it is hard, why can't dogs just live forever?...:)..Good job with HIS as it sure is tricky.

Lorie..maybe running on a TM is easier than outdoors? I don't know as I have no TM experience to speak of.

Kristi...thank you and I will give my sister some hugs...:)..Sounds like your Thanksgiving went well. Good job getting in a 7 miler!

Well, it went pretty well with my sister's dog. My sister was very strong. The vet came out to the truck and gave KD a shot to first make her sleepy. That worked and she finally relaxed. We both held and petted her. Then the vet gave the final shot and it was peaceful and fast. KD was 14 and a black lab. Her health has been declining for awhile. A very sweet dog and I know she is in a better place right now...as I am remembering lines from "The Rainbow Bridge"

The massage was great and she does think the pain is ITB related, just high up my outer thigh. So I know the roller will be used a lot in the next few days. I got a new running outfit to wear for the Half. I have not bought new running clothes in some time!! This afternoon I think I will do LIC or one of the premixes.

Carole- I am so sorry about your sister's dog... It is good that the massage helped....The foam roller sounds like a good plan.
