Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs! J

Wendi aka Iron Chef!—What a whiz you are in the kitchen. Sounds delish!...yeah, you are right—they are on the rise and gettin' a tad stranger (e.g., had some vertigo yesterday afternoon, which happens, but not usually in conjunction with a mig.) I will schedule that 2nd neuro visit soon. It is starting to seem to me that there probably is a connection with the vision issues. Maybe that arachnoid cyst in my brain, too (it is harmless, but since there is extra cerebrospinal fluid there, could it be pressing against a nerve or something, I wonder?) Who knows? I’m probably wearing my head lamp too tight, ha ha!...Sorry about your head cold…Rest is good…when ya need it, take it!

Wendyyes, I’m excited, but I’m also very busy at the moment, so I haven’t had too much time to think about it. Glad you enjoyed Group Groove. You are really sampling the class menu over there. Met your quota for the month now? Good job resisting the cookies. I went astray with some popcorn yesterday. Very busy at work, so morning check-ins are it right now.

Carolewow, that’d be a seriously solid base. Do you do most of your running on trails? It will be awesome to have my coach with me for last the 10!

Judygood to see you back. Sounds like an exciting weekend. Congrats to DD’s team! What a close one for DS…Sorry about the cold. Lots are sick at my work. How do you feel today?…yes, I am tapering now.

Lindasounds like your friend is listening to her hubby too much, or maybe she wants to compete with him or something. Personally, I think she will pay the price for goin’ ovaries-to-the-wall. Glad you are doing what’s right for you.

Jackieha ha, loved the comment that thinking about a workout counts, too. I am with you on Fridays! J How are the legs feelin’ today?

Christineglad the Yogilates helped restore the bod. How was your day?

Dallasooh, lots of new goodies. Enjoy! I have unintentionally run on a couple of roads with no shouder/sidewalk—quite scary and not a mistake I'll make twice.

Karenhope you have a great 8 today with no calf issues. No idea what causes the migraines. Was evaluated by a neuro at Penn last year who did not have any answers. I did not realize you got them, too. Running too fast is definitely not a cause for me. *lol* Most of the beginner programs I’ve looked at range from 18 to 30-week schedules. I did not start with a substantial base. If you just want to finish, that’s fine, but for someone with a certain time goal, I would recommend building the base. I believe 25-30 is a standard starting point.

Yesterday’s appointment (the fun one with the stirrups) went quickly, but the workload continues to be a bit heavy. By the time I plowed through it, I lost whatever steam I did have and did not run. I know I’ll have to work late again tonight, so it’s a head lamp morning. J Time to go kick it! (All the little mousies better hide!) ;)

Have a terrific day!

Good morning ladies!

Well, never got through Loser last night...was asleep before they even started the weigh ins. Anybody know 1. who got booted and 2. if the yellow team made that 14 lb goal?

So, I'm not sure if I should workout this morning. I feel great...congestion is gone although I've still got a little junk (sorry TMI). I would love to head out there for a run but would that be wise in the cold air? Or should I stay inside and bang out some KBing? Ugh, I wish I knew what would be best.

Cathy - Lol, maybe that headlamp *is* a bit too tight, eh;)? I wish you could catch a break in schedule department....kudos for getting out there early today for that run! How far? I do hope all the vision and migraine BS is solved soon {{{HUGS}}}. BTW, just about spit my java out all over the monitor..."ovaries to the wall" LMAO!

Wendy - LOL, about the only thing that I watch is Food Network and the only magazine I read is Cooking Light...sad, ain' it:p? I LOVE food (like, really LOVE it!!!) but my waistline certainly doesn't it;) so I've found that I actually love the challenge of trying to clean up ideas that I see on FN. DSO doesn't mindd taste-testing, as well:D. I will definitely mark down Cape May!

Dallas - Ah, so that's how you rationalize a shopping spree, huh? Have to remember that one;). MK was 40...in fact just turned a couple of months ago. Heehee, yeah you know those empty shelves won't be empty for tooooooo long:p. Hope today is a bit quieter for you.

Still sitting here trying to figure out what to do:confused:. Eh, I'll give it another 15 minutes and see what happens. TTFN!

Hey Peeps. :D

Today's plan is a 6 miler outside and then CTX biceps and shoulders to finish out the rotation. I don't know what I want to do next. If I get inspired this morning I will likely blow off CTX and start something new but that remains to be seen. :p

Cathy: Yes, I have met my 3 class quota for the month. Seems every time I find a class I like I have to stop taking it for some reason. Point being that Groove is fun but not at a very convenient time for me so we'll see how often I actually take it. Centergy is the most convenient so far. Not being able to over-think the race is probably a blessing in disguise. You are going to do awesome! Loved your comment to Wendi about the migraines being caused by the head lamp being too tight!:D

Wendi: I love food too but I prefer it when someone else cooks it for me!:p You have a great DSO. My DH hates when I feed him "cleaned up" food. He prefers the original artery clogging recipes so often times I choose to make myself something different from what I am feeding him and DS. DS is good. He likes alot of the stuff I eat (unlike DH) but if I am bothering to make something like mac-n-cheese as a side dish for DH then I'm going to have DS eat it too cause otherwise it's a waste. Besides, mac-n-cheese is DS' all-time fave food!

Dallas: I only did Glute Camp, not LL too. I'm not totally crazy! LOL A run AND the stairs!? Crazy girl! Enjoy!:D

Off to get DS' lunch ready...BBL though!

Hiya girls!

So I blew off the workout:(. I had computer work to do anyway so it ate up all of my free time this morning anyway. I should feel up to something by tomorrow. Besides, I do have a looooong day ahead of me today.

Wendy - Oooooo, mac 'n cheese, drooooooool! Wish I could figure out how to clean that one up;). Yeah, I can see how making a bunch of different meals would be a PITA. I have to say I'm lucky that DSO watches what he eats, as well. Although, I *am* trying to modify what he eats a bit. He follows this calorie staggering diet (good thing) but his low days are way *too* low and not enough protein...like 1300 cals and about 50g protein:confused:. Not nearly enough for a 190lb guy who is pretty active. One of the mornings calls for a "breakfast" of 1oz of cheese and 6 crackers:confused:...WTH??? And that's supposed to get him to the salad he has packed for lunch?!?

Eeek, just looked at the time. Gotta jet. Happy humpdity hump day!

Hi Friends-

This week is flying by! My cold symptoms are more manageable today, but now DS has it. It was only a matter of time. We don't want him missing too much school but he needs to be healthy.

Wendi- loved your Eggplant *healthy* Parm concoction. I am with you on the healthy foodie obsession. Some experimental recipes come out better than others.

Cathy- I would have chickened out in the dark too. But you did the tmill so kudos for getting the run in!

Wendy- It has always been a pain to get to a class for me too. I am surprised I am sticking with this weekly yoga class. Being consistent with it has really improved my flexibility. I still have a long way to go though.

Dallas- So the kids did well in soccer ! Which new fitness toy is yor favorite?

Carole- How is your Mom these days?

Karen- So you are considering a marathon too? how exciting! What is your current weekly milage? I am hoping to get mine back to about 20-25 miles per week, but I am taking it slow, so as not to loose progress with my healing PF.

Jackie- how are your legs today? How do you like iTread #5 40" ?

Christine- So you must be pleased that your appetite is back in check :)

Linda- Smart idea to rest on a day when you are tired and sore. How are you feelingtoday?

Well yesterdays workout was 'Rest Max on the couch' then 'Clean Max' folowed by 'Cook Max' and 'Drive Max.' Today I *think* I can handle a 30 minute run, legs and yoga class. Stay tuned for the actual report.

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Sorry I never made it back yesterday! It was a crazy busy day and I had no time to turn around! At least it’s behind me!

Cathy – Sorry you are experiencing so many migraines! That has to be truly draining! I think it’s great that word has leaked out at your school! I have to admit that I agree – why would you want to run that far?! :p But I’m going to be there cheering ya on! :p DH and I met at a business function. We were attending a training session, and as there were so many new people from all around the country, I decided to arrange dinners. DH almost didn’t come, but he decided to at the last minute. :D

Wendi – Every time I think I’m too busy, I just look at your schedule. I don’t know how you do it. I hope you’re feeling better! Glad you enjoyed my race report! Oooh, your recipe for Eggplant Parm sounds wonderful! I may have to try it! DH LOVES eggplant parm – I sometimes back it with the Italian Shake and Bake and bake it, then poor tomato sauce on and top with sprinkles of parm. Too funny about nothing coming with the eggplant that DSO provided. Such a guy! ;)

Wendy – Glad you enjoyed the dance class! Sounds like fun. I like classes like that, although I KNOW I look like a fool – but heck, so do most others. :p Glad you had a good, hard leg workout, too!

Carole – Oh, I’m looking forward to your marathon in Napa, too! That will be fun! You’ll do fabulous! I like to toss a completely non-cycling workout in once or twice a week just to mix things up. Step is so fun after a week of riding! Glad you had fun with BMax Scrambled Eggs.

Judy – congrats to DD! And how heartbreaking for DS! Those last second losses are hard! Sorry you’re not feeling well.

Linda – I think your “missing your casual running” makes perfect sense. I think training is more of a challenge than the actual event. You know it’s going to hurt, your whole body is screaming against doing anything stupid, yet you get out there and push through those miles. It’s tough.

Jackie – I’m with you – it would be fun to say you’ve done a marathon, but the training and the run – hmmm, I’ll stick to cycling!

Dallas – Good job at getting all of those workouts in! How are the new closets? How fun!! Sunday’s ride was what is considered an “Event”. It was the Tour for Woodside – and benefited Woodside High School. But, they are quite clear that it’s a “ride” and not a “race”. A lot of the rides are like that. I didn’t even get a t-shirt – but as I never wear those anyway, it’s not a big deal. :p

Karen – YES! Dealing with the hunger while training is a challenge. I know I can eat a little more, but not what I sometimes try to eat! Although I have not gained anything, and have even lost about 3 pounds. Glad you get a break from the orthodontist. I managed to skip them completely - got VERY lucky with my kid’s teeth – all three of them! I don’t know how!

Today I'll do my new Spinervals – it’s Recovery and Technique – supposed to be what you do have a hard ride. I should probably have done this a few days ago, but I want to go easy this week. I do plan to get a nice long ride in next weekend - I'm going to see if I can drag DH along. :p We’ll see. :p DH comes home today, so I’m happy. It’ll be nice to see him. We’re headed to Napa this weekend. We’ll leave Friday after work! How fun! Jimmy will go with us. Spoiled dog! I’m going to look into hikes in the area that we can bring him on. That will be fun! Yes, I know – NO cycling for me this weekend! Whatever will I do?!:eek::eek: Have a great day all!

PS - I forgot to add that last night when I got home from work, I was walking out to the garage to take the dogs out, stretching a bit when mid stretch I banged my elbow on the edge of the door to the garage. I banged it HARD! Saw the stars, heard the birds and all of that. I thought for sure I was going to get sick to my stomach, but that passed (thankfully). So, no lifting for me for a few days. And I'll have to wear long sleeved shirts as I have a nice bruise there. *shakes head at own doofiness*

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...No, I do most of my training on asphalt. I might do some long training runs on trails but the majority will be on asphalt as Napa is on asphalt. I have to get my body used to running on that kind of surface for longer distances. I am looking forward to running with you the last 10!! Glad the stirrup appt went quick..:)...I have one in a few months. Good job with the TM run.

Wendi..WOW, way to go adjusting the Eggplant Parm recipe, it sounds so yummy!! I will often reduce the amount of oil in some recipes to cut back a bit on fat. LOL, I have always enjoyed working the legs hard...I don't even have any DOMS today. I would love to join Cathy for some of the marathon, I think it would be very fun! I think I would stay inside for some KBing, but rest is good too for the end of a cold.

Wendy..I also use my step for weight work so at least that is good. Looks like my marathon training will include the STS workouts, that will be interesting!! I will probably only do the "X" for 3 weeks, then an endurance week and then another heavy weight workout for 3 weeks.

Judy...glad the cold is going away. Mom is doing okay. She got her brace off (which was keeping the leg straight) last week so she has more mobility and a bit more pain! She go a little bug over the weekend and was feeling kinda yukky. I will see her today. I did a lot of cleanmax myself yesterday.

Christine...thanks re: Napa. It will be fun to train again...:)..How nice DH will be back. Sounds like a nice weekend planned with no riding!! Enjoy your workout today. Ouch about banging the elbow, I have this nightstand in my bedroom that I hit on occasion. Leaves a nice bruise on my thigh!

Dallas...thanks re: my 15 miles. Since my body is healthy I thought I would do another one. Yes, it is Napa. When I marathon train my main cardio is of course running and I will get in 6 days a week on some weeks. I am just adding another to 5 in Oct. My right knee sometimes get sore for step. I only use a 6 inch step and never higher. I back off right away if I feel it in my knee, but yesterday was fine. Through the marathons I have run, I have seen friends running with their marathon friends. With TNT I don't think there will be a problem. So you can join us too!! Enjoy your double cardio workout today.

Karen...Yes, I have decided if things go well to run the Napa Marathon in Calif. My last one was 1-1-05 locally in my home town. For your 1st one, I would say an 18 week training schedule would be good for a start. Your weekly miles to start would be good at about 32 IMO. I usually trained with a 12 week program but my weekly miles were up at 40 to start. I think www.runnersworld.com has some good training programs.

Jackie...sometimes endurance lifting does get to my legs too. I will have to see how it goes adding more running. BM2 was a fun one, but it had been sometime since I did step also (Imax a few weeks ago).

Today is 4DS C&B, abs and a 5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning!

Dallas – Ooooo! Have fun with all of your new Cathe toys! So, do the new bands have a lot more resistance than the other one? I need that vest! Hope you like them! Ugh! I hate putting closets back together! But, it such a rewarding feeling when it is done! Regarding the taper and how long my friend has been running marathons….this is her first one, as well. She has been running for several years, but no distance running. She did a ½ a couple of years ago, but that was her furthest distance up until now. She is an amazingly strong lady, and I admire her for thinking she doesn’t need to do it, but I honestly think she does need to taper and that everyone needs to!

Karen – Yay! Glad you don’t have to go back to the orthodontist for 3 months! Good job on your total body and hope the 8 goes good today! Hmm…let me think….After my half marathon, which was last November, I started trying to “prepare” for training for a marathon. I tried to continue to get in a long run of up to around 10-15 at least a couple of times a month. My weekly mileage was usually around 30mpw. (25-30 sometimes). My marathon training has been drug out to be much longer than most people train, since this was my first time. I started to add more mileage in June. I think the 16 weeks is a good time to allow. If you continue on after your ½ and use your ½ as a training run, you would be ½ way through the marathon training :) But, I am a novice at the marathon stuff and I am still going on trial and error ;)

Carole – LOL…..that is okay, my dear! I have to agree with you on her being nuts for not wanting to taper! I am hoping she changes her mind. But I do know that I will “have” to.!!! I’ll bet you won’t have a lot of soreness, since you have done so much running in the past! I have cut out the step, too, with my marathon training.

Jackie – Shoot! I missed BL, too! I am going to have to get a schedule of the new Fall lineup!

Wendi – Oh yum! The eggplant parmesan sounds yummy! Yes, I agree, I am sure Shelly would agree with the taper :) No sweat on you not working out today! You will have a tough day, I am sure!

Wendy – I am excited about the mary most of the time! I think I just sometimes get overwhelmed with work, family and then trying to train and not take away too much family time. But, I think they are understanding, it is probably most just me worrying about it  So, after your 18 miler, you have 18 more weeks to train to your marathon? Which one are you doing and when is it? Enjoy your 6 miler and CTX today!

Cathy – I think she is “competing” with them, too. I am not ready to feel any type of competitiveness! I just want to finish alive, healthy and strong! Oh dear! I have that “same” stirrup appt. tomorrow morning! I dread it! We were running down a really pretty, wooded trail on Saturday to get back on the road and I was telling Patty your mouse and the headlamp story! I could just picture the little mouse :) Anyway, we had a good laugh thinking of it and picturing it :) The ‘mill is fine! It is good you went with your gut feeling, too! Ya know what they say about that! Good job!

Judy – LOL…you had a “maxed out day! “ ;) I am feeling great today, thanks for asking! Glad your cold is a little better, but sorry DS had it, now! Enjoy your run, legs and yoga!

Christine – OUCH! That must have been one hard elbow bang! I am glad you are okay, though! Yes, I think it is definitely a good idea to skip the wts for a few days! The Napa trip and hiking with Jimmy and your DH sounds great! I am sure you will miss your bike, but I am sure that will be great fun and good exercise! Sending good vibes that your DH gets home safely!

This morning was 4DS C&B, 6 mile TM run and abs.

Hey to everyone!

Linda

Good Wednesday morning Cheetahs!

Wendi - I've made something similar to your Eggplant Parme. Loved it! Made eggplant casserole Monday. Nice dinner. Grilled pineapple! Yummy! Extra rest day never hurt anything. They're beginning to make these reality shows too long too. I can't stay up past 9:00. Trying to tape to watch the next day is packing too much into my schedule. Will have to stick with the hour long shows. Thought the yellow team on BL was crazy last night bidding to lose so much in Wk 2 when the odds was against them. They lost 11 pounds but luckily didn't get voted off. The gray team went home. They look good afterwards too.

Wendy - Glad you enjoyed the Groove class! Was it dancing? Good job on downsizing with the cookies. You'll get back into the swing of things. Hang in there! Enjoy your 6 miles and CXT B&S!

Dallas - Did Calgon get to take you away? :D Tough day for you. Only training for a half. They have a full, half and 5K all on the same day. DWTS started on Monday. Thanks for the reminder about Cathe's stuff being at Wal-Mart. I'll have to go to their website. Probably can have it shipped to the store and save lots of shipping. Did you get the stairs in?

Cathy - Hope the neuro can help you figure out what's going on with the migraines. Legs are better today. Gotta love those stirrup appointments. Always happy to get those over with. Sorry you didn't have energy left for your run but know you'll make it up somewhere. I'm not brave enough to run outside before daylight. Having some wonderful temps though.

Judy - Glad you're feeling better. Hope DS feels better soon. I like iTread #5. After the warm up, Grace alternates between hills and speed. Then she increases the speed every minute and then on to sprints and a cool down. The highest incline is 10%. Enjoy your run and yoga!

Christine - Glad things slowed down some for you today. Staying busy sure makes the time fly by. Oooh! Enjoy that Recovery and Technique ride. How's the BF after the ride? Fun trip to Napa for you, DH and Jimmy! Ouch on the arm! Why do they call them funny bones? It's anything but funny. :D As I get older, I find I bruise easier too. Hope it feels better.

Carole - How nice that you'll run the last 10 miles with Cathy! Glad the knees are fine from doing step yesterday. Don't think my knees are missing it either. How many leg days will you add during the week when you go to 5 days of running? Enjoy 4DS C&B and your 5 miles.

Linda - Hope your friend decides to take your advice about the taper. BL was 2 hours too. Had to go back and forth between that and DWTS. Hope the shows aren't 2 hours long every week. Good job with 4DS C&B, abs and the 6 miles! May add 4DS to my rotation next month.

Today's workout was Muscle Max. Left off one set of push ups and lateral raises to shorten it just a little.

Happy Hump Day!

Hey there peeps.

Just got back from my run. I did CTX shoulders and bi's first and then headed outside. Ended up makin' it a fast paced 3 miler today. I'll go for more distance tmrw I think. :)

Gotta grab some food and then I want to do some cleaning since I have time before I have to pick DS up from school!

BBL though!

Hi Girls!

Quickie report: I did the EXT instead of running. I've been having some sciatica , but I'm long overdue for an adjustment. Going tomorrow, so it should be fine. Giving birth to DS5, it's never been the same. ;) I foam rolled, and planned to get GS-shoulders in before waking the kids, but ran out of time. Hope to get to that later. I met my friend at the stairs and we got 20 in today. :) Building that stair endurance back up! There was a girl there with a weighted vest on, of course, it got me thinking. lol

Wow, better get that shower before the kindergarten bus gets here. My day sounds like Judy's y-day: grocery max, cook max, clean max, (I'll throw homework max in as well ;)), etc.

~BBL

Karen - I have been looking at different training schedules this afternoon. I have found them ranging in 29 weeks to 18 weeks. These were from start to finish. I am sure the other Cheetahs will have more experienced views and opinions that me . Basically It just seems I have been training for a year!

Finally setteling in for the eveing. Just got finished dinner. Everyone had soup and grilled cheese. Nice easy and warm for the fall weather I've got going on here. I'm so gald the humidity is gone( she says with fingers crossed) Maryland summers are so humid.

Todays run went off without a hitch. My claf was pretty good the entire run. Now it seems like it just stiffens up after the fact. After the 8 mile tempo I did lots of stretching and then put on my trusty icy hot patch.

School took me forever today. I think I got in our school room about 9 and got out of there about 4:30. I couldn't let it go. My one dd was doing analogies and for the life of her she couldn't get the gist. Now she has it and I can see correct answers in her future. Then my other dd is trying to find least common demonators so that was fun:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:. She finally got that and we should be pretty good for tomorrows lessons.

Cathy- sorry you have another late night at work. Mine problably was not as late as yours but I feel your pain. Glad you got in the TM run. Heck that is all I get so the TM is my best friend.

Wendi- Gald you took it easy today. I hate running with a runny nose.

Wendy- 3 miles and weights is a great workout. How long is your run suppose to be tomrrow. I have an 11 mile planned for Friday. Hope you and Shelly have a great run.

Judy- Right now my milage is between 25-30 miles. I'm thinking I can go right into a marathon if I stay the course but the one I want to do is not until March. Are you planning on doing one in the future. Have you done one before.

Christine- So sorry about the elbow. My goodness girl that must of hurt like heck. I can't imagine how much pain you were in. I hate hitting my elbow just a bit. Hope the bruise gets better soon. Just take it easy and don't lift.

Carole and Linda - Thanks for the info. For both distance races I have done I used runners world. On the site they go to 16 weeks for training. My problem is that if I continue right after the half I have a long long way to go until March. Pretty much like I think Linda is doing right now. It will be a long training sesson for me since really I began back in July from a lay off with injuries. I don't know if it would be better to take Nov off and let all that ailes me heal or do I forge ahead at a slower pace until Dec when I will still be ahead of the game slightly.

Jackie- MM is one of my favorites. Well slow and heavy is my all time favorite but I still like MM.

Dallas- Hope you got all the max's out of the way and done.

Totally ticked off. I just spent another 15 min going back and rereading all our posts and just wrote another 3 paragraphs to Cathy, Wendy and others and it's gone.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Where the heck did it go. I pushed Edit and then post.

Now I'm mad. Need some coffee.

Hi everyone!

Wendy - Good job on the shoulders & bis and the 3 miler! Did you get your cleaning finished?

Dallas - Glad you were able to get the stairs in! Using a weighted vest would really add some oomph to them. Busy day for you.

Linda - Training for a year sounds like a long time, huh? No wonder you're ready for the marathon to be over.

Karen - Glad the calf cooperated and you had a good 8 mile run. WTG for dd finally figuring out analogies. I like S&H too. I can lift pretty heavy when I do those workouts. Sorry you lost your post.

Guess I'll watch DWTS tonight. Have a good night!

Evening Ladies!

I know tomorrow will be busy, so I thought I'd pop in now. It's an exciting night for baseball here. The Cubs and the Sox are on right now. :) Knowing that the Cubs are already in the playoffs, I'm secretly rooting for the Mets. I really like Jerry Manuel, their manager. He and his family used to be our neighbors. They were great!! I was bummed when the White Sox fired him. :( I e-mailed his wife telling her I was cheering them on tonight too. :)

Well, I never got GS-Shoulders in today. I thought I would because it's what, 11 minutes??? Oh well. I was trying to shorten my weight work tomorrow morn. Have to be at the chiro early.

Jackie ~ Anyone good on DWTS? I better make sure Tivo is taping it. I know DD likes it too. :) Yeah, not sure I'm ready for the stairs and the weighted vest, but maybe down the road. Yeah, I didn't know about Walmart until after I shopped. Yes, you can p/u at the store and not pay s/h!!! :) What are you getting? :) Oooo, MM that's a goody!

Karen ~ That's the worse, isn't it? It's so hard to recreate a post. I started using Word when I know it's going to be a long one. I still have basement max. Putting one closet together messed up another. The kids had some major homework tonight. Lots of critical thinking for DD. I could fax/mail the TNT schedule for a marathon. It's about a 6 month plan.

Wendy ~ Great job on your workouts! I swear this quote needs to be added to my signature line, "Cleaning while the kids are still growing is like shoveling the sidewalk while it's still snowing." ~ Phyllis Diller. LOL It's true. Hope you got it all done today. No, I decided not to run. See my post above. Hopefully, the adjustment will help. i felt it tonight making the soup. Of course, the kids and I were dancing to Closer. I love that song! Anyway, I really felt it then. UGH! It sucks getting older.:confused:

Linda ~ YES! YES! YES!!! I was having a heck of a time on the leg presses. I think my biceps got an extra workout holding the bands during GSL y-day. The green one is much tougher than the green band in the GSS. Do you really think your friend won't taper? Oh no!!!! Hope she changes her mind, but what do I know. ;)

Carole ~ Good for you! You'll do great! When is it? I missed the date. Great workout today. I'll have to remember my running shoes when I pack for the soccer tournament. :)

Christine ~ I hear you on the crazy busy part. I'm still trying to figure out why I'm busier now that the kids are back at school??? Guess trying to get all the stuff done before they get in the door??? I think I put too much on my list. Oh, I like free stuff esp, t-shirts. I wear them to bed or after a workout to walk the kids to the bus stop. Thanks for explaining about your riding. When is that trifecta? Hope your arm is ok. I do goofy things like that all the time.

Judy ~ Those slanted risers are pretty cool. I haven't tried the vest yet, but know that it will come in handy. :) The gloves are great. I've used them twice. I know you have read a lot of nutrition books. What's your take on eating certain foods at certain times. Dh has been reading one that you mentioned and she advocates eating this way. Just curious what your thoughts are?

Wendi ~ You should be "Busy Cheetah"! Hope things slow down for you. Oh, your friend was so young. :(

Cathy ~ Glad that yearly appt is out of the way I bet. I go next week and then I'm back to yearly too (still from the surgery). I'd have to run with someone in the dark, esp in light of some awful news around here. :( good for you getting the run in anyway. So, what are ppl saying at school? Or is that in your blog? You're a great example for your students! :)
