::: CHEETAHS ::: in da house Monday

Cathy: Like the new rotation. Have fun with it. As far as where to put your Iron Core work out I would say perhaps change saturday and sunday to look something like this:

S...legs + pull ups + run or IX+
S...run + Iron Core + abs

I've obviously never worked with kettlebells before but if they are good for core/abdominals then doing a separate ab work out that day may be redundant and too much. I would think, perhaps, that you could completely remove that last ab work out in this case. Just food for thought.

Sunny: You are asking a CHEETAH to give up a run!? Are you nuts!?! }( :7

Lorie: I am with you and Cathy and Susan and tons of others I have heard say the same thing...Target is addictive for sure!!! I don't go there nearly as often as I want to because I can't afford it! LOL

Wendi: We are here for ya babe! If it's one thing I've learned since joining this thread is that the Cheetahs ROCK and will always be there to support a fellow Cheetah through whatever it is they are going through! :) I'm glad to hear the foot is improving. I don't blame you for not wanting to lay out the cash for the doc visit but at the same time, you need to be careful. You don't want to turn something small into something big by hoping it will go away on it's own. Hopefully it WILL go away soon, but if not, get to the doc! :)

Christine: Sorry about your SB loss. I was thinking of you when the Giants won it. Glad you finished out the week under points despite your party indulgences y'day! Good job!

The Turbo Jam set I purchased is about $60.00. It includes Learn and Burn, 20 min work out, Ab Jam, Turbo Sculpt, Cardio Party, Punch Kick Jam and the weighted gloves.

They probably also sell some of these work outs separately. I know they used to sell amost every work out separately but I have a heck of a time ever finding that page! LOL

If you decide to purchase something and you want to go through me please shoot me a pm before you do it. Thanks! :)

Carole: Sorry to hear you didn't like Tracey's kb. Oh well. I guess if I think it's too easy I can always add it to my "sell on ebay" list!:7 When you are about ready to take the plunge for the new X work outs, let me know!;)

Kristi: A pergot floor has been on my wish list since we moved in the house in 2003. Ofcourse DH keeps saying we are selling soon so don't bother but we are still here...*SIGH* Good job on the 7 mile run!

Judy: Don't give up on the X! Sunny and I are doing an X+ rotation. We'll keep ya motivated!}(

Well I'm up from my nap and not neccessarily feeling any more like doing Abs/Core then I did BEFORE I laid down. I don't feel any sicker but just BLAH. x(

I just ate a bowl of cereal and now I'm taking Airborne. I'm going to give my stomach about 15 minutes to settle with the food and then I'm pushing play. Even if it's a poor performance, I need to do this today.

Tomorrow I can nix the cardio if I want and just do the leg work...

Hello to all the fine cheetahs! Checking in pretty late for me and I missed all together yesterday. Work has just been too crazy:(
It was one emergency after another last nite and I was sitting down for a quicky post this morning when I was called away for yet another crisis x( I had to drive home in a snowstorm this morning to top it off. Ah well.... now I have a FULL week off:) :) :)
took a couple of vacation days to catch up on things. My major goal is to do my taxes this week and organize all my paperwork, in general do a major clutter cleanup!!

I did get in MuscleMax yesterday between worknites. After my nap this morning I got in a nice tempo run and did 4 miles in 34 minutes.
I'll go for Amy's ASCII after I'm done here:) :) I think I'll also do some nice tough core work on the Bosu.

I'll be back to try to catch up on some personals.

ShellyC

Back for personals:) :) :)

Cathy- Hope your week has started off well. I like your rotation!!!
Instead of trying to "fit in" iron core why not leave it as a bonus or substitute workout to do whenever?

SunnyD- How are the p90x+ w/o's comparing to the original? Hope your day is a good one!

Lorie- Very glad to hear that you got in a good pain free run!! Very encouraging. My goodness, from your first post I thought you'd be doing a light workout..... holey moley!

Judy- Sounds like a typically busy busy day for ya! I missed hearing the follow up on Waldo.... is he still with you?

Wendy- I actually put duct tape over the emergency button on my TM.
I knocked the darn thing off so much and lost all the data x( x(
but I guess you really don't have that option at the gym. sounds like you got in a great run! Sorry you're being threatened with some creepy crud!! Sending anti crud vibes your way:) Another goal of mine this week is to check out some of the TJ workouts... I'll pm you before ordering.

Wendi- Hey sweetie-- those weight workouts are contributing to making your body a lean mean calorie burning machine as much as( if not more) the cardio ones. I'm glad your foot problem is resolving and I think in the long run your performance in your race will actually improve with this resting period. A book you may find useful is the "Runners' Repair Manual" by Dr. Murray Weisenfeld.
I find it very useful and helpful, especially in a situation like yours where you want to avoid and MD or clinic visit.

Lori- So just how heavy did you go with GS CT??? Inquiring minds want to know! :p Gotta love those push up drop sets too.

Christine- Sounds like you had an awesome fun time with your Superbowl party. Last nite started out mellow at least and didn't get crazy until after the game ended and I was able to catch portions of it. I'm sorry your Pats didn't win for you but you sure have a wonderful attitude.... as always! My New York inlaws are all ecstatic of course. Glad to hear you are being smart and giving your body an obviously needed rest.

Carole- What a great Sunday for our official NFL cheetah!!!!!!!!
That game was quite a nail biter from the bits I got to see anyway.
Having a good GS week? I'll be giving them a go around this week myself.

Kristi- Congrats on getting in that 7 miler!!! That took determination considering the busy hard week you had. Way to go there Supermom!!

Jackie- Sounds like you had a great weekend!! A busy Sat followed by a resting Sun.... did you catch the game?

I think that about catches me up for now!

ShellyC

Lorie – yeah a rest day is probably a good idea, but I am also a firm believer that you’re body will tell you when. So if you’re full of energy tomorrow, do some active recovery. :p

Jackie – It takes me about 3 weeks to not be tired from P90X – it’s so tough. Good job getting in your runs and walk with a busy night! Lobster tail? YUM!!!! Was it delicious?

Wendy – Good luck with avoid the cold *sends healing vibes to Wendy*. But, I figure if you’re feeling peppy enough to workout, then do so. Sounds like you were quite peppy today! Thanks! I’m happy with my week. And there’s always next year for the Pats. Wow! I really appreciate the info on the Turbo Jams. I’m still on the fence on these, but I’m sure I’ll cave soon!

Shelly – I’m sorry work has been so crazy, but I’m happy you have off a full week to recover!! How nice – hope you really get to enjoy it, too. Have fun with ASCII!! Although I’ve been in computers long enough that whenever I see it spelled like that, I think of the American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII – pronounced ask-key). So if you ever meet me in person and I start referring the Ask-key – you’ll know the workout I mean! :p

Well, I lost 4.4 pounds, so I’m down 11.4 pounds over all! I’m very excited. Since Lent starts on Wednesday, I’m hoping that I’ll keep up some momentum this week with the change to vegetarian eating. We’ll see…

quickie post and then it's off to the showers with me:7

i just finished UB plus core. my arms feel like noodles and i have to say OMG!! this is definitely the hardest ab workout i have ever done. i actually sweated while doing abs:7 :7 .

wendy- lol. i used the bands for shoulder everything and felt like they were about to fall off.

no time for personals as i've got to take a shower and get ds#1 ready for a program they are doing at school tonight!!

ETA: Shelly- they are much harder, very advanced. it will take some time to really grow with them.

later chickies:+

Wendi- I did not know I was motivating you but whatever works right? I slept through Waldo's cries last night. DH heard him and ignored it. He was fine today.

Shelly- Waldo seems to be living here. He does like to hide in the lower level if he can, but he comes up for treats if he hears me make the treat sound. He is still getting smacked by Crosby, the little brat. I think Crosby has middle child syndrome!

Christine- did you loose 4.4 pound with a superbowl party in your week? Wow!

Wendy- I actually had a telemarketer call me about that book. I think I will check it out at Borders. BTW it is Jackie who is on the fence about the X. I do not own the X so far. ;)

Carole- I am doing 3 weeks of S&H UB then a recovery week times 3(with different 'Cathe strength series' each time) for a total of 12 weeks....and then a vacation with DH! Does that make any sense?

Hi Cheetahs!

I had a busy day today. I don't know WHY I didn't get groceries on my days off so I had to get them today, then a few loads of laundry...blah...blah...so Im just doing my check ins!

Todays workout was:
* GS C&T going really heavy again,DOMS is setting in already
* 2 Mile run
* 4DSBC
* 4DSKB (with one lbs handweights)
* 1 Mile run.
Im really enjoying the 4DS BC&KB, I think I may start using then 2-3 x;s a week. They are so short but put them with something else and its a great workout!

Cathy** Everytime I do the ski hops in BC I think about you! LOL Probably b/c Cathe says " this will make you a great skier" I would need more then a few hops to make me a skier! hehe

Sunny** Sounds like you enjoyed the Super Bowl? I ended up wathing the end with the guys!

Lorie** Good job on the workout. Sounds like we are on the same page! Im gonna do GS S,B&B tomorrow or maybe Wed...

Judy** Did you get your workout in?

Wendy** Thanks for your input earlier! Its always nice to have a few opinons about what may be going on with my body. I love having MOndays off! :)

Wendi** Ah...I don't think your as bad with the "can'ts" as you think you are:) I watched a weightloss show last night. And this girl was monitored for 4 weeks, given workouts and a diet...all she kept saying was "I can't" I wanted to kick her! LOL So I highly doubt you are like that! In the end she lost 3 measly pounds! LOL So you have to start saying "I can" and you did today! Good workout!

Christine** Glad to hear you had a good time last night. Bought more then fruits and veggies at the store...grand total of $233! Im sure I will be back there later this week to pick something else up that I forgot!

Carole** Seems like we are using the GS"s again this week? I love that series! Wondering if the STS will top it?

Kristi** Good job on the workout Fri night. HOw old are your kids? Sound like they keep you hop'in! That in itself is a workout!

Jackie** Yes, have to have the fruit:9 I have a pineapple that needs to be cut up! I hate doing it but love pineapple. I should have brought it to work with me tonight! HAve fun with your rotation this month!

Shelley** I did all of the pushups on my toes Ill have ya know:) Then I had the pushups in 4DSBC as well:) I used 25 lb db's for chest press, then 20 lbs for flies. Near the end I thought I was gonna die...but I managed to screw up my face and get through it! Hope you enjoy your week off, any plans?

Christine** OMG on the weightloss! WTG! You are doing awesome! Are you hungry at all?

Thats it for me girlie girls:) I am at work so I may check in again later!

Lori:)

Hey cheetahs!

Long workday for me, so the rest day was well-planned. Busy with my new leadership duties in preparation for tomorrow’s parent conferences, but all is well. Will definitely get to bed early to make up for some lost zzzz’s last night.

Thanks for all the feedback on the rotation and how to include IC. I think I’ll consider it a bonus or possible substitute workout. Might pair it (or some of its segments) with the Bosu Ski DVD. The latter burns about 300 calories, but it isn’t super, super-intense.

Lorie :: I’m always amazed how, even if I go into Target for one thing, I come out spending no less than $60. How does that happen???…Have fun doin’ Eoin tonight. heh heh

Judy :: IC Vol. 1 is about 45 minutes, according to the DVD packaging…lucky DS hittin’ the slopes on a day off! Busy day for you.

Wendy :: sorry ‘bout the wanna-be crud…way to soldier on, you beast, you!…Good points on IC…I think I need to do the whole w/out once (not just the introductory segment), as Christine suggested, to get a better feel for how I can work it in. My feeling is that it will make *everything* sore. :7

Wendi :: I say stick with whatever will be gentlest on your foot.

Christine :: whoo!! Rock on with the weight loss, woman! 4.4 lbs. down from last Monday??? Good Lord! You are my hero. Good idea to do the video once through…I’m sure it’ll give me a better idea of how to work it in…Sorry about the Pats! I was rootin’ for ‘em for ya. You did have quite a mixed crowd there. Bet it was a blast. I have a feelin’ you and DH throw a festive bash.

Carole :: *lol* again about you scaring the dog…I *so* should not even LOOK at that ski machine thing-y. Evil magazine ad planted it in my brain! I missed which team fumbled first – do you know? Then I can see which of us “won” the pool.

Jackie :: what do you think is affecting your energy level? Mmmm, lobster tail.

Shelly :: nice that you have a week off to recover from some crazy-busy shifts…I didn’t accomplish my taxes this past weekend, either, so that is on my agenda for the coming weekend. I think this may be the first year I didn’t receive the forms. The week is indeed off to a good start. My kids are so excited about independent reading this year…I just love it when they come charging up first thing in the morning to talk to me about what they’re reading. This job is da bomb.

Hi Lori, Kristi, Sunny, POSH, Linda, Dallas, Susan, Marcia, and anyone else dropping in.

ETA: Lori :: your post snuck by me. I can't believe you don't ski up there in all that white stuff! What's the closest major city by you?

Wow, can you believe United will now be charging passengers with non-refundable tickets $25 for a second checked bag? Airline travel these days really is crap anymore.

Have a great night!

Sunny – oh my – now you’re making me want the P90X+ ! I cannot be enabled for a while yet! *plugs fingers in ears and sings* :p

Judy – I was very careful this week. It’s easy to do when you step on the scale and realize that you’re going where you want to go. But I also only lost 1 pound in two weeks while I was at my dad’s so, I think it’s all part of that. But thanks! :+

Lori – Sounds like one of my grocery bills! Eating clean is not cheap! Thanks on the crongrats! Funny thing about hunger – it’s all relative. I’ve spent the last few years thinking I need to eat six meals a day so I never feel hungry. Well, that didn’t work for me, and there are times when I simply can’t do that. So having the mind set that hunger is bad, hurt me badly. Now, I’m learning to live with it again – not a ravenous hungry, but that nice bit of grumbling in the tummy that makes the next meal all that much sweeter. For some kooky reason that works for me. Or is so far. *knocks on wood* I really am enjoying what I eat more and I’m happier with less. Counter intuitive but then, I’m a bit odd. :+

Cathy – thanks for listening to me grumble! As I told Judy on the weight loss – I only lost 1 pound over two weeks when I was with my dad. I think my body is adjusting to that (I didn’t eat that badly there). So it won’t happen again soon, but that’s okay. Thanks about the Pats! I just don’t understand the need to bash them when they and their fans are feeling badly enough after the loss. But, to each his own. Yeah, DH and I tend to throw pretty good parties – he’s the real people person and I’m an organizer and a cook so between the two of us we tend to do well. I just love reading your excitement about teaching and your love of the kids.

Hey Ladies.

OMG, I think I am addicted to food! LOL I started keeping a food journal on Monday for the first time since I was trying to lose my pregnancy weight. I can't believe how much I eat!!! Granted it's mostly healthy but holy cow!

Check it out:

Monday:
*bowl of whole grain and fiber cereal w/soy milk
*turkey and cheese sandwich w/hummus on ww bread
*recovery drink and 1/2 of a banana
*salad w/a variety of veggies,a small handful of almonds and ff dressing
*Apple pie Larabar
*Tuna sandwich on ww bread w/a side of green beans
*Apple and 1 tblspn natural p/b

Today:
*oatmeal made with soymilk and 1/2 scoop protein powder
*recovery drink
*fresh veggie and hummus sandwich on ww bread
*ONE piece of guylian dark chocolate twist :9
*fiber cereal with soy milk
*handful of baby carrots
*broccoli sauteed in olive oil, ground turkey and tomato sauce mixed in with ww pasta.
*garden veggie burger, apple

I eat like a gazillion times a day! LOL Am I the only one with this problem??? :9

Okay, now that I got THAT off my chest, it's time for personals!:)

Shelly: When you are done de-cluttering your place, can ya come over here and do mine too? ;) I would love to tape that darned emergency button down. It drives me insane! LOL I don't think the folks at the gym would appreciate that too much though. :p Thanks for the feel good vibes. I hope they work! Have fun checkin' out the TJ's!:)

Christine: You are doing awesome with your weightloss! You go girl! Weren't you going to buy the X+ when you lost a certain amount of weight or are you trading that up for the TJ's possibly now?? Whatever you decide, don't feel guilty. You deserve it!:) DH said he didn't truly care who won the superbowl but was kinda glad to see the Giants win cause he said he was sick of seeing the Pats constantly winning. He said they've been on winning streak for years now or something. I dunno but I give you permission to punch him for that comment should you ever meet him!:7

Sunny: The + workouts are very different from the original ones, aren't they!? I love them! As hard as they are, there is more of a fun factor to them some how. The only one I haven't done yet is upper +. I'll see how that goes on wednesday. One thing I noticed though is somehow I find ARX to be tougher then Abs/Core+. Am I weird? Perhaps it's not tougher but I think ARX is more concentrated on the abs themselves so it's more PAINFUL then A/C+ which I guess works more of the overall core so the pain is spread out a bit more. LOL Does that make any sense?

Judy: LOL, I checked for typos and never even noticed I had typed the wrong name! I guess my eyes still aren't right after not being able to find the other morning! LOL So you have yet to get sucked in by P90X, huh? You are a strong lady! ;)

Lori: I seriously would not worry about that weight gain if I were you. You are lifting heavy and your body is not used to it. Give it some time and I'm sure things will change...

Cathy: I can't wait to hear your thoughts on IC once you've done the entire work out! With every rave review I read I inch a tiny bit closer to being sucked in....LOL Glad your planned rest day worked out so well for you. Enjoy it!

Jackie: Since I wrote the post meant for you to Judy's attention, I will re-write it now for you! LOL Don't give up on the X! Sunny and I are doing the X+ rotation so we'll get ya through it!:)

ETA: I made it through Abs/Core+ this afternoon. I had to force it to begin with but once I got started I was fine. That being said, OMG my lats were ON FIRE!!!! They are sore from y'day's work out and A/C+ involves a lot of hanging ab work...HELLO LATS!!! I guess I could look at it as a good bonus stretch for them but that's not what I was thinking while I was hanging there!:p

Wendy- the kind of comment from your DH is perfectly fine - not need to smack him! People should have the right to cheer for whom they want - even if they don't cheer for my team. I just don't appreciate anyone tearing down a team they do not like. Mine or anyone else's. I don't see the point. I don't know WHAT I'm going to get next! I'll probably get P90X + before the TJ's, just because I adore Tony! *grins*. Sounds like a great workout - especially if YOU are so sore!
