Happy Friday, cheetahs :)

I lost my urge to do Yoga Burn last night but will tack it on to either Saturday or Sunday's run. Today will be L&B and ARX after school. I have to admit, I'm getting a little bored w/ L&B and feel like doing some kind of B&G + something-else mish-mosh. Anyone who's done the X have a good sub for L&B?

Cathy: Do any endurance leg work out you want to do in place of L&B but make sure you insert some pull ups in there as well girl!}(

Cathy...Karen's videos were very tough, but I have not tried any of the newer ones. I really should get GWW on DVD as the video can be a bit choppy. Glad the insurance finally went thru for you...For L&B I think I subbed PUB back and then a Cathe endurance leg workout of my choice.

Wendy..I have a few of Barons Yogas. I like them. Have fun with BBC & ARX.

Jackie...that floor leg workout from Karen Voight is good for freestyle. I like your workouts, they seem very creative...:)

Christine...that is great you are liking the job. Well ten minutes in traffic must be better than that standard "15"...:)...Way to go on BBC!!!! Sadie is also a jumper when I get home and she just melts and cries as she is so happy to see me...not much feels better than that!...:)...I also eat clean in spurts....wish I could be better. You can tell your DH that I actually like alot of Football teams. Only a few I really dislike...:)...That's right Big Sur is this weekend. I hope you can run and good luck to the both of you. Wished I lived closer, I'd babysit Jimmy in a heartbeat!

Shelly...the runs are going fairly good. Trying to increase my distance little by little. Yesterday was a bit windy and I was unusually tired so not a great run. I think Wednesday's workout could have worn me out! I might try GWW upper next week when I go back to endurance for my upper body. I also did Karen's videos right before I discovered Cathe.

Today is an EXT workout, abs and maybe some floorwork.

Well, it seems the storm was a big dud. Nothing ever really happend. I've been on the computer the whole time...:)

I finally decided on a yoga dvd. I went with something I considered to be safe. I just ordered Baron's Journey into Power 2 dvd from Amazon. I am secure in the fact that I will like it. Can't wait to get it now!}(

I can't believe it's already 8:30 and I haven't heard DS yellin' it's time to get up yet!:eek: I'd better go get him up or he'll never go down for a nap today and he's gonna need one! We have a party to go to tonight AND have to hit the road early tomorrow for a Communion. This poor child is going to be sleep deprived. I can only hope he catches good Zzzz's in the car on the way up to NY in the morning!

Christine - So glad to hear how excited you are about the new job. I know you love being able to run home and check on Jimmy. I live 5 minutes away from work and love it. I could walk here if I wanted to. I hope you can get a puppy sitter and you get to participate in the race. Sounds like fun. Good luck!

Sunny - Yay for another new client! You are awesome!!

Marcia - Glad to hear DS foot is better.

Wendy - I still say all that matters is you're attempting those chin ups. You will get stronger and be able to do more. How are the abs after ARX?

Shelly - Great job on the hills! I still need to work on those more. DBF seems to think I have a nice upper body and I'm on the petite side.

Cathe - ITA about Adam in P90X. For some reason, being shirtless just looks better on him. Hmmm, wonder what Tony would look like shirtless!:9 Glad your insurance company came through for you. Now you can get that eye better. Enjoy your workout today.

Carole - I've enjoyed the Freestyle this month. My legs do feel stronger. I only monitor my weight and BF. Weight stayed the same and BF went up the first 2 weeks. Last week BF was back down. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day. So, I'm hoping everything stayed the same. Have a good workout!

I did Tracey Staehle's Cardio Sweatfest Kick Boxing. I like the workout. Can't say I love it yet. Some parts were fun and some parts didn't seem to flow right. I'll be modifying those to fit my needs. I do feel like I got a good workout. I used my weighted gloves too. I think the more I do the workout the more I'll like it. I did like the speed. I finished up with Core Max #1. My arms are just too short for those levitation holds. Used 8lb. dumbbells to give me a lift with those.

Cathy ~ Sorry about the eye, sounds painful! I have bad allergies & it affects my eyes also. My Dr. gave me prescription drops last year, but I never got them filled. I did L & B y'day, don't think that the leg work on there is tough at all. Although my dh is struggling through it, especially the wall squats!! }( I think Wendy & Carole gave you good suggestions. I did GS legs on Sunday, and then Chest & Back. I was sore on Monday for Plyo!!

Carole ~ I see you're keeping up w/ the great workouts as always!! You're amazing!

Wendy ~ I hope you found a yoga that you like. I like Tony's athletic type yoga, but I also like Baron & Bryan. (thanks for the DVD again!!) Sounds like you have a busy weekend planned!

Jackie ~ I see we were posting at the same time. Great job w/ your workouts too. Amazing all of the pullups you can do, I hope to be there after my 90 days of the X!!!

Gayle & Kristi ~ Good luck on your races!!!! I can't wait to live vicariously through your reports!!!

Well, it's day 13 of P90X for me!! I'm so loving it. Seeing changes in my upper body for sure!! And I am rocking it on the reverse grip pullups (or chinups, whatever you want to call them). I am still doing the regular pullups assisted w/ the chair, but I know I'll be doing them unassisted if I keep it up! Greg is doing great, I'm super proud of him for keeping up w/ the workouts. Some of them are pretty tough on him since he hasn't been working out regularly (especially Plyo!), but he's keeping up the best he can. We're going to do Kenpo later. I'm going to the Y this morning, haven't been in almost 2 weeks! I'll just do the elliptical & maybe swim.

We have a busy weekend planned- a ladies brunch at church in the morning and soccer in the afternoon, a bday party, etc.

Oh, and I am playing my flute in our town's high school musical!! I got a call from the music teacher saying she'd talked to a friend of mine (she sings & plays clarinet) that told her I play flute. So... I'm excited about that, something just for *me* to do!!!

OK, enough babble. Just wanted to check in. I feel kinda weird posting when I'm not running or doing much Cathe lately!! ;-)
 
Good morning ladies,
A quick post for me today. My friend Mary with breast cancer is getting a lumpectemy today and I will be there with her. Her final diagnosis is invasive ductal carcinoma. Today we will find out how bad the lymph nodes are. I think it will be a pretty emotionally draining day for. I am optimistic though.

I took a rest day yesterday due to a little back soreness, but today I will be doing the elliptical and some lower body workout.

Hi to everyone and hopefully this weekend I will be here for some chit chat.

Good morning everyone:) Well, wouldn't you know it.... after wearing myself down to the bone the last few nites at work, they called me yesterday asking me to come in and work extra! I had to restrain myself to keep from swearing at them:eek: Instead I politely declined;-)

I woke up this morning at 0430! Unusual for me.... after laying there listening to DH snore I gave up and headed for the basement for a w/o. I did L&G and it felt great!

I am super excited about my long run tomorrow:7 :7 It will technically be tomorrow I guess, but I'll be running around 0200 in the morning:eek: A good friend of mine lost her mother to cancer a few years ago and every year since has organized a team for the "Relay for Life" to support cancer research. The basic idea is a walk-a-thon (although you can run if you like which is what I'll be doing) and the objective is to keep someone from the team on the track at all times over a 15 hr period... 6p-9a. My friend has had a harder time recruiting people for her team this year and I know last year she had to do alot of the walking during the "wee" hours herself so I'm helping her out during that time to give her a rest.
What the heck, I'd be running long this weekend anyway, might as well do it for a good cause. I'll just make sure my iPod is fully charged ;-) I'll be going for 12-15 miles, depending on how I feel.

Susan- You are a friend indeed! Best of luck to your friend and I truly pray that it goes well for her and she gets some good news re: lymph node spread. Having dealt many years with people dealing with life threatening illnesses I can tell you this.... attitude is EVERYTHING!! Have a great EXT workout!

Back again.... I'm unusually chatty this morning!

Cathy- Why don't you go for L&G after work? And I like Carole's suggestion of the back work from PUB. I never did care for the L&B workout from p90x myself.

Wendy- How nice of Joey to sleep in and let Mom have more time this morning. I do hope you don't end up "paying for it"! Did you get in your BBC workout?

Carole- It is SO hard to get in those runs on windy days! It just seems to suck the strength right out of you- I think it'll be an EXT workout for me later today also. Have you made up your mind yet if you'll be doing your run-bike-run race? Or is it bike-run-bike?:p

Jackie- I think after I'm done here I'll be ordering some new workouts and Tracy's KB workout is on my list. Thanks for your review! I'm with you on those levitation holds.... it is the only Cathe move that has me totally flummoxed!

Jess- Congratulations on your upcoming flute performance!!! That is exciting for you I bet! You're going to have to post some after pics so we can all see how buff you've become on p90X!!!! Please don't feel weird or hesitate posting here just cuz you're not currently running!! We would miss you terribly and we know you're a cheetah at heart.... that's all that counts :)

After a little internet shopping I'll be heading for the basement again for IMAX3:7 Later today will be a 40 minute EXT session.
I'll be tucking myself into bed shortly after supper tonight to get in hopefully 5 hrs of sleep before I head out for my round-the-track a million times run!!!

Jackie, Glad you enjoyed Tracy's new Kickbox work out! I didn't end up doing ARX. I waited too long to work out so I didn't have the time. Oh well.

Susan, I hope your friend gets news that is a ray of hope for her today.

Jess, I can't wait to see your progress pics for P90X! I am so glad that you are loving it! Kudos to your DH for sticking with it!

Well BBC's full body work is done. I chose to skip ARX today. I waited too long to work out and was worried about the time since we have to go some where this evening. My shoulder was really hurting me for some strange reason this afternoon. I almost skipped my work out. I decided to give it a go and see what happens. I'm glad I did cause about 3 mins into the work out there was no more pain! It's amazing what exercise can do!!!:D

Okay, I'm off to the races! I will probably peek back in here late tonight from my mom's. I'm spending the night at her place tonight after the B'day party.

Just the quickest of fly-bys for me right now. Gotta jump in the shower & head out to meet friends for drinks. Am running late.

Finished up PUB Back + the Leg Blast from Hell along with abs, though I confess I skipped 1 set of one-legged lunges and 1 set of lunge/squat combos. I was fried.

Read all the posts - promise I will catch up w/ personals in the AM.

no workout today, just wasn't feeling it for some reason. my legs are killing me from yesterday's workout. in addition to B &G standing legs i also did the hack squat machine at the gym.

jackie- no new clients for me. i have no more openings!! however when you help to sell the package you get paid commission so i am happy with that. glad you enjoyed the TS workout. let me know if you have DOMS tomorrow.

shelly- your post to me yesterday had me chuckling...lol. you are truly superwoman with those workouts you do. incredible....!

question- has anyone used any of the istretches? if so what do you think of them? are they easy to follow?

Susan - Hope things went well with your friend today. I'm sure your being there for her makes a world of difference. How's the back?

Shelly - Don't blame you one bit for turning down that nice offer to work extra. The body has got to rest sometimes. Good luck with your run and so late at night or so early in the morning. I participated in my first RFL last year. Thought I would be able to run a lap or two but it wasn't set up like that. I did walk a few laps.

Wendy - Your shoulder pain could come from doing those pull ups. Mine is a little tender sometimes afterwards. Hope you had fun at the party.

Cathy - Which leg blast did you do? Did you have a nice time with the girls?

Sunny - Hope you enjoyed your family night. I'm already feeling some soreness but it could be a combination of MM LB yesterday and the kickbox today.

I have a 9 mile run in the morning. Better get ready for bed.
