::: CHEETAHS ::: Friday -- flippin' sweet, man!

Now that I am getting a bosu ball I am wondering if I should order Amy's new Dome work out. I wish I had ordered this ball a week earlier...then I could've gotten the Dome work out for the pre-order price!x( I'll have to go preview and see what I think....}(

ETA: Nevermind...it's not at all what I am looking for. Oh well. I guess I have an excuse to go to the collage video site now!:p

yes, DF is definitely being a butthead. well, actually, i'd like to call him more than that but i wouldn't want to offend anyone! ;)

anyway, i did something totally different (for me) this morning. since it was light out (i am going into work late today), i did iTread #17 outdoors. i absolutely LOVED it!!! when she said we were going to do sprints, i never thought i would be able to, but i did!!! also, i ran along the river and partly in a woded trail area so i really enjoyed the scenery. i ended up doing 6.6 miles (according to GPed) and that is good for me outdoors in 60 minutes. it even ridded me of some of my anger/annoyance at DF, but unfortunately, now it's back. x(

i feel much better now and am going to go get ready for work.

i will be back later for personals...not feeling like getting much work done today. i hope it's quieter than it has been this week!!!

Good morning cheetahs! I love it when it gets cooler... I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get in a long run comfortably!
I'll just be running around my neighborhood "block" too so there isn't any extra travel time :7 Of course my block is 10+ miles of hills and I'll be going around it twice (or almost twice) for 18 miles.

Cathy- A huge TGIF to you! Work has been a bear for ya lately I know. I had a pretty cruddy week myself, especially yesterday so a run will be a good cathartic for me today. I PM'd ya re: card exchange. Where was the field trip today?

Carole- What are the new running shoes? I'm currently shopping for some new trail shoes. Mine bit the dust with the Man against Horse race! Do you have any recommendations for good trail shoes?
Have a good time with your APX and run today.

Kristi- What adorable costumes!!!! Your little DD is just WAY too cute and the pirate costume for DS---- I can see why he won a prize!

Wendi- Congrats on kickin some butt with the bowling! I love doing the HIS/LIS combo!!

Christine- Love your pic to Wendy yesterday... I copied it for a friend who it is perfect for! oooooh Gauntlet! Haven't done that one for a while, great sweat fest! I think that is so great that your DD is active in the Humane Society. Is she a big animal lover?
I assume so... maybe she wants to go in that direction for a career.

Lorie- Glad to hear you got outdoors for a good run!! I'm thinkin if you do that more you'll build up a resistance and won't have another of those acute asthma/bronchitis attacks. Sorry you're dealing with irritating SO issues. Running is great therapy for those IMO.... but so is kickboxing!

Wendy- have a great yoga day! You should try the ABA cardio again.
I just did this workout yesterday and I love it so much. The cardio isn't really very complicating. The most complicating steps are the warm up in fact. What makes it a little tricky in this vid is just that she is too often "off count" a little.

Lori- Glad you got in a nice run! I'm one of those heretics who never runs, or works out for that matter with a HRM. I find it too frustrating and I prefer just to go by perceived level of exertion.

SunnyD- Hiya! I avoid doing a heavy leg workout before a long run but the 4DS leg workout and others like it don't bother me at all...
I'm ready to go! The 4DS KB workout is nice but too short IMO. Alot of folks are tacking on segments of other workouts to it.

Time to get the booty movin out of here!

Kristi – LOVE the costumes! Very creative! Your little pirate looks wonderful, your princess devine, and Mr. Robin Hood – very wonderful! I love it.

Carole – Elephant Bar is actually decent. They offer pretty good light fare – and vegetarian. Kind of a lower budget Asian/Anglo fusion. All in the price point of a Chilies or Applebees. I like it. They even serve a decent Pad Thai (both vegetarian and with shrimp). Let me know what you think of Amy’s new workouts. Enjoy your new shoes!!! Hope you run really fast!

Wendy – We will enjoy it – especially if the Pats win – but we’ll see. The Colts are a tough team to beat! Yeah, I’m proud of my girl…

Lorie – I think being a butthead comes with having a “Y” chromosome. I love Carole’s saying about no matter how well she hides the a$$hole pills, DH manages to find them. Sounds like DF took a big handful! Sorry. Good job on the run! Here’s a smile for you:

Shelly – Glad that photo is making the rounds! It cracks me up! I love the cooler temps, too. But it does make me want to stay under the covers in the morning longer. Yes, Gauntlet is a sweatfest – boy did I enjoy it! Yes, DD14 is a HUGE animal lover. She wants to be a zoologist and work with animals in the zoo. She already knows where she wants to go to school and what she needs to do to get in to that school, and she’s working towards doing just that. I’m very proud of my girl.

Have a good Friday ladies!!! Thought I’d leave you with a little smile…

How freakin' ADORABLE is THAT ^^^^^^^^^^^^!!!!!!

OMG Christine, you are killin' me!!!!

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

OMG Christine! TOO FUNNY! Did you notice the little mouse on the right side of the kitty...he's right at the edge of the pic.

Lorie: Cheetahs stick together. When you are sad or mad, so are we. We're here for ya!:)

Wendy - I never even noticed that mouse! Too funny. I saw that and about spit out my tea one morning. I still pull it out when I need a laugh. I love LOL Cats.

And don't forget the tug on the pants leg - "Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom..." My DD14 was very good at that once. Thank heavens she stopped!

And one more for Lorie (and whoever else is having a male moment):

My husband, being unhappy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring the other day so he would be able to monitor my moods.

We've discovered that when I'm in a good mood, it turns green.

When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big frickin' red mark on his forehead.

Maybe next time he'll buy me a diamond. Dumb a$$!!

Christine: I've heard that joke before. It's a good one!!!! Ah yes, the tug! I am already getting that too!:p How many years until he outgrows it??? :7

I just finished the first 3 sequences of Baron's Journey into Pwr 2. It was about 25 minutes worth of yoga. I'm happy. :)

What's everyone got planned for the weekend? Christine, we know you'll be watching FOOTBALL!:) Everyone else?

I have NOTHING planned and I don't like it. This usually means that DH decides to couch it all weekend so I start to go stir crazy and end up calling my mom up to go shopping with me just to get out and go somewhere. }( }( }( I do have my run atleast. I want to get in 6 miles so it will take a little bit of time up...:)

Off to the showers!

BBL :+

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier that DH’s pirate costume from last year, he made this one too, won 1st prize on My Space’s costume contest. He won a $400 ipod. Needless to say he is very excited.

Cathy – I hope you had fun on your field trip. My DS went on a field trip today too. I love wearing hats. I live in one on the weekends, except when I go to church.  Thanks for taking care of the gift and card exchange.

Sunny – I bet your boys were so handsome in their costumes.

Lori – Good luck getting in your workout today.

Lorie – I hope your day gets better. Great run this morning!

Wendy – Congrats on your bosu ball purchase. Do you have any workouts to use with it?

Shelly – I love running in the cooler temps too. I love this weather. That is a long “neighborhood” block, but I bet it is beautiful. Wow your mileage is getting up there. Hard to believe your marathon is a month away.

Christine – ROTFLMAO!! When will DH’s ever learn?

Hi Wendi, Susan, Linda, Judy, & Carole.

Hiya, cheetah babes!

OMG, Christine, you have me hooked on that site! Here are some more…

Wendy :: yes, I do enjoy organizing this kind of stuff. :7 My family always puts me in charge of the pollyanna we used to do. Now it's a Yankee swap...We went to Batsto. Ever heard of it?…I agree that lowering the limit would probably make it more difficult. I think we have enough people to make it work.

Lori :: I have curly/wavy hair, too, but prefer it blown out. Just takes too long! Glad the run did such wonders for you yesterday. Hope today was better. Sorry about DS's fall.

Lorie :: hope things smooth over with SO. If not, time to get out the mood ring! :) There is a silly putty hammer in circulation around here somewhere, too. It’s been broken in by quite a few cheetahs.

Sunny :: Great w/out today. I cannot seem to get enough of the KB and BC workouts. I know something’s good when I have to debate whether to do that or run!

Wendi :: Know what you mean. I look forward to my daily cheetah fix (es)! Post when you can – it’s cool…glad you’re going to do the exchange. This’ll be fun.

Christine :: that is wonderful that DD14 is committed to service already at a young age…Our field trip was to Batsto, a historic village and nature park in the Pinelands. The kids enjoy the nature hike part of the trip, but the village is kind of boring for them, and the social studies teachers make them go around from (empty) building to building answering questions. I think they would get a lot more out of it if the buildings were operational and/or there were actual tour guides or re-enactments…Put ur monee in d bowl for Jeeesus *SLAYED* me.

Kristi :: great, great costumes! Your little ones looked adorable. And I give your DH serious credit for being willing to wear a costume with tights! ;) He did a fantastic job making the duds for everyone. Very cool! Have fun celebrating DB’s b-day!

Carole :: yeah, I think my problem is that I love the sweets AND the chips & salsa. *lol*…Yeah, I do like the tan look…and like the warmth of the sun…but I wouldn’t say I’m a hardcore sun worshipper…I am pretty cautious, more so in recent years. I don’t lay out for very long. Well, this past summer there was almost no sun for me at all (except for when I was out running) b/c of the Accu. This is my first time fake baking, though…Enjoy your new kicks! Sweet!

Shelly :: hope you had a GREAT 18-miler! Knowing you, you’ll probably come home and pop in BC. ;) You are my hero, woman!…Sorry work’s been rough on you, too. Thank God it’s the weekend. Amen for the mental health breaks…Our field trip was to a place in the Pinelands called Batsto. It’s probably best-known for glassmaking.

Hi to anyone else dropping in. Gonna eat something and then w/out. Better not wait too long. I feel myself fading.

hey cathy, i think i need something stronger than a putty hammer!!! let's just say that this whole mess was partially brought on by his mother who i feel really manipulated me. here's the short story: she knew we were going to vegas. df had told me that he didn't want anyone from his family coming, he really wanted it to be a "me and him" thing. so, i never said anything. i figured he would tell them when it was too late for them to make a reservation but before we went. anyway, i spoke to his mom on the phone the other day. just your basic hello, how are you. during the convo, SHE FLAT OUT ASKED ME if we were getting married in vegas. i had two choices, tell her the truth and beg her not to tell df or lie to her and have her be pissed at me for lying. so, i told her and BEGGED her not to say anything. she promised she wouldn't. you can guess what happened next. not only did she tell him i told, she reamed him for not inviting them.

i feel manipulated because she figured i wouldn't lie to her if she came out and asked me. i am also pissed off because she promised me she wouldn't say anything to him. what does she do...run and tell him.

now the totally sucky part. df is saying if he can't trust me and i can't respect his wishes, that is something he needs to consider when he thinks about getting married. he doesn't even want to discuss vegas and says we're not going. he is turning the whole thing around on me and saying it's my fault and it's this big sign of things to come (like i will never take into consideration what he wants).

i am so incredibly pissed. he won't listen to me and he also says that the "story" i told him and what his dear mommy told him are not the same. funny thing is, he's totally not a mama's boy. in fact, her biggest complaint is that he never tells her anything and they hardly talk. now, all of a sudden, her word is gospel?!

oh, i am so pissed. the whole thing sucks. it has even got me thinking that she did this purposefully knowing how pissed he would be and hoping he would call off the wedding. maybe i am thinking too much, but that thought seems plausible to me.

df is truly a wonderful guy and i know he loves me but he can't see past his anger.

anyway, it feels good to get this off my chest and i'd love to hear ya'll's thoughts. i think i'll go post it on the oal thread as well.

the worst part about it...if i don't go to vegas i don't get to meet carole and shelly!!! x( :( ;( i should just go on my own regeardless.

so, pissy mood today. the run really helped. might need on tomorrow. sorry about my woeful lack of personals.

Lorie :: oh man, you were in a dilemma w/ that one. I would have told her the truth, too. There is nothing worse, IMO, than lying, and if the shoe were on the other foot, I would have wanted my SO to own up to my mom, too. I really don't think he has a reason to say now he can't trust you because of this. You were being respectful to his mother by being honest. She may be hurt that she was not invited, but she would've been more hurt by having been lied to, and probably rightfully so.

Still, I do understand your annoyance w/ her. I've been in that boat, too, where I've shared something confidentially with someone only to have that person go and confront someone else with it. It kind of opens your eyes, knowing how s/he will handle information in the future.

I dunno...it sounds like he may be a little "on edge." Case of nerves, perhaps? And that is making him overreact.

Hey Lorie.

I hope ya don't mind me butting in here but I read your post about DF and his mom. ITA with you for what it's worth. I would have done the same thing because if you LIED to his mom then BOTH OF THEM would have been pissed at you I'll bet. I think your DF is over-reacting and needs to understand that it's his MOTHER he should MAD at and not you. She created this mess and needs to own up to it. I know-easy to say, right?

Well, I basically just wanted you to know that I'm on your side. I got yer back so if DF or MOM want mess with ya, send 'em my way and I'll straighten 'em out for you!}( }( }(

(((HUGS))) to you!

cathy, you are totally right in that it is getting close and it could be a set of nerves. this is a 39 year-old man who has never been engaged or married before (work always came first).

wendy-you are absolutely not butting in. i wrote it so that i could get all you wonderful womens'' advice. i am really at a loss here.

part of me feels like if he wants to say he doesn't want to get married now because of this, fine! it'll be his loss. i am really angry.
