///CHEETAHS///friday-eve

Good afternoon Cheetahs!

Linda - Glad you're enjoying the Dove workouts. I downloaded some 20 minute workouts by her. Now, I have to figure out how to get them on my Zen. It looked easy at first. Nice workout todaY.

Karen - Made me smile to read how you felt about your run yesterday. Glad you had such a great one! I'm a treadmill counter some days too. How scary about DD hand! Hope all is well today.

Cathy - Laughing at you jumping for the phone before the third ring. :D So sorry to hear about your tooth. Those things are not fun I'm sure. Hope it doesn't bother you too much before the root canal. Uh, uh, that "S" word has popped up for you. Hope you had a good day preparing the classroom.

Gloria - Teachers carrying guns didn't ring well with me either. Has to be a much better way than that.

Christine - That's great that you can ride your bike to work! Will save on gas. Does Jimmy get a seat? :D I taped the volleyball game last night and watched some of it this morning. I love watching those two women. Have a good bike ride today.

Wendi - Glad you get to drive back and forth to the horse show. Nothing like your own bed. Glad you got that run in.

Lori - Sorry to hear you've been fighting a nasty cold and PMS. Horrible combination. Feel better soon.

Wendy - I'm considering a weight vest. I don't know about Cathe's if it only goes to 10 pounds. But, if they may offer a heavier version, I'll check it out. In the mean time, I'll check around and price a few. Think I would really like one that goes up to 20 pounds. So sorry to read about your dog. Glad he's going to be ok. Hope he doesn't get addicted. :D

Judy - Glad you had a good spin class. Hope they don't cancel the class. How soon will you know? Find something you enjoy and then they cancel. Good job on AOS!

Carole - Don't you hate how a song sticks in your when you don't like it? Glad you enjoyed your massage. Did you hear that Shawn's parents put up their house to pay for her training and they lost the house? Think I heard that on a radio show yesterday. Hope you enjoyed MM and your run.

Posh - You ride horses too?

Today's workout was 20 minutes of TJ Cardio Party Mix 3, iClimb & iTread sections from iTri Reverse 29 and Yoga Relax. I have all over DOMS from MM yesterday.

Tomorrow I'm off work. Going with DBF so that he can do a presentation for the Civil Air Patrol. We leave tomorrow and will spend the night. Will return on Saturday evening. I'll try and post before I leave in the morning. But, if not, have a great weekend!

Still tryin to keep up!

Hi to my marvelous cheetahpals! Still getting in posts when I can. I finish a 3nite stretch of work tonight. It's been very busy and tiring. I'll be quite glad to see that last of this place! I did get a call from the hospital that I wanted to work at and had a very encouraging chat with their recruiter. They sound genuinely glad to have me there. Anyway, I'll be going in for an interview on Monday. Just have scads of new forms and background checks to go thru.... again!!!

I did get in a pretty good 4 mile run yesterday but that's all I had time for between 12 hr shifts. In a bit I'll be doing L&G. I'm gonna go for another run at Fairmont park... only 4-6 miles tho after work. Then after a catch up nap it's back to central PA and join up with DH.

back for personals

PERSONALS!

Jackie- Nice combo workout today!! Sounds like a fun weekend lined up for you too.:D

Lorie- Doesn't sound like you've had a very fun last few days! I PM'd ya! Hope things turn around soon.

Cathy- I checked out your blog last nite.... You could have been a writer you know... you are very entertaining and engaging with your entries. I'll be thinking of you this Sunday for sure!!

Wendi- Glad you got in your run today. We are supposed to have a bear in our area also... hopefully we'll never meet up!

Wendy- How is the running going now for you? Are you and your DH going to do any training runs together? I guess that would be difficult to manage with your little one tho! Oh dear, problems with the family pooch also? Glad the vet visit went okay and I bet this med regime will clear up the problem pretty quick.

Christine- Missed the beach volleyball game darn it! I guess I'll watch it on the highlights show later today. Sounds like a nice plan with walking to work with Jimmy. How nice that you are in a position where you can do that!

Judy- Wow, a tough KBall workout after spinning? WTG!

Carole- Nice workout for you today! I missed my EXT and have only been able to get in a couple of workouts on it when I trek to central PA. Going for another long trail run this weekend?

Karen- Sounds like you have a great training program going there and you're getting in some good runs! I know you asked Carole who is definitely IMO the supreme running guru here but I think subbing an EXT workout for a run is a great way to keep up the training without the impact.

Linda- Hi there! glad to see you are still doing well. Your marathon is getting close isn't it?

Posh! How's it going for your running lately?

That's it for now.... tata

The evil Post Monster strikes again

Lovely. I just lost a ridiculously long post—at the point where I was jusssst about to hit send.*lol* Isn’t that the way? That’s what I get for having gotten lazy about typing up the posts in Word. Let me try again. (In Word.)

Wendi :: this one is, by far, nowhere near as painful as the previous two abscesses, so I’m in good shape here…I do not have the Terminator, and uh, now I don't think I want it. *lol*…I don’t run in the dark anymore—forget psycho killers and bears—I’m a danger to myself!
th_lol.gif
Tripping over cracks in the sidewalk, turning the ankles, stepping on road kill, etc. But if a bear were known to be in the area, I definitely would not be out there. You are one brave cheetah!

Wendy :: first of all, I’m glad your pooch is OK and all went well at the vet this morning. Poor thing. Hope the meds make for some quick healing!...Re: Imax 2/CW, it was the diner convo that convinced me to order it again! But
th_doh.gif
part two. Here it turns out, I messed up AGAIN, and it’s NOT on its way. Didn't read the UPS notice carefully, it seems. I assumed it was the DVD because the order status on the Cathe site said "shipping." However, that must be a mistake because it usually only takes a day for her orders to get here. Anyway, the danged thing must still be on backorder. Ho hum
th_whistle.gif
…Oh, I love setting up my classroom and making it home-y and inviting—moving classrooms is another story. Any good vibes are always accepted for what they are. :) No, I didn’t notice a crack. I grind my teeth at night, and apparently, that is how I unknowingly broke my fillings previously and the other two abscesses occurred.

Christine :: we have so many streets without ample shoulders or even sidewalks here…I have had a couple of frightening close calls during the morning commute with riders who had no lights and no reflective gear. Not smart…No, they did not switch my team/classroom this year, thankfully…Would you believe I goofed again
th_34efamg.gif
—no Imax 2/CW on its way yet. The reading teacher has to do a better job of, uh, reading the UPS shipping notices.
th_dopey.gif

Judy :: Newport after a spin class?
th_mind-blowing1.gif
You crazy, woman! *lol*

Carole :: thanks for the feedback on C&W. IA, slow stepwork might just be a good thing for me
th_sarcastic.gif
…So we are the root canal queens, huh? I never did take the Advil…I usually try to avoid any of that stuff unless I’m absolutely miserable. This has been bearable, and the penicillin’s kicked in. I’m good now. But I know I was not so lucky before. I have never heard of Gardetto. Will have to look for it. I have managed to keep my hands out of the pretzel bag today. I like the massage-every-three weeks idea.
th_massage.gif
I am doing something similar, rewarding myself with more frequent massages for these long runs.

Karen :: I’m still shuddering over the sewing machine accident.
th_blah.gif
Glad DD is on the mend…I wondered on Tuesday (last time I ran) if it would be too jarring on the tooth, but it was fine.

Linda :: I bet you will be fine…you have been on top of your training all summer…Nope, no Imax 2/CW. I thought the UPS notification I rec’d was for that, but it was for something else.
th_duh.gif

Hi Posh! Hey, did you sign up for the pasta dinner before the marathon? My friend from here who’s running it asked me.

For those who are trying to get their daily fix of nuts: if you like chocolate, try Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds (dark chocolate flavor). YUM!

Classroom is close to being done. There's just a little more to do on the two days after Labor Day. Run will be later when it cools down some.

Missed a coupla posts while I was off in Microsoft Word Neverland.

Jackie :: Had me smiling at the "S" word. I'll tell ya-- the only discomfort is when I smile and the air hits the tooth, so cut that out. :) Kidding aside, yes, I'm mentally geared up to go back now...Nice to have tomorrow off. Good luck to DBF with his presentation & enjoy the weekend!

Shelly :: oh how promising! You already have a place that wants to snap you up...Boy, did your post make me smile big. Thank you for the supreme compliment. I've enjoyed writing throughout my life and grew up thinking I'd become a journalist. Undergrad major was communication (writing intensive)...I'm sure I will be thinking of all of you for inspiration on Sunday...Ha! I know any bear fool enough to face up with you would NOT survive! :) Enjoy your run in the park and hope you can plow right through all that paperwork.

Hello!

Cathy: You are right, the drills are freaky. What is wierd is that I was not scared when we had the real one. I had no idea what was going on. IA they are absolutely necessary. We have to have our doors locked at all times. I asked DH about what to get my student too and he suggested one of the backpacks they have at the shop with their logo on it. I think she would like that. I will also put in a smaller gift card than originally planned. I can't wait to give it to her! You would think it was my birthday or something! LOL! :) Good to hear the classroom is shaping up nicely. Care to come and work on mine? :) I was going to go to school today, but I am having a hard time trying to focus. IA with Shelly that you could be a writer. :)

Wendi: How are you doing? It is wierd to see stuff on the news and say "Wow, that could happen to our school." At least we have a solid plan in place. Nice running this morning. We have black bears around here too. I was really scared hiking out in the west since there are Grizzlies and rattle snakes. Did I mention that I am terrified of snakes? Even the garter ones that are harmless. I even have nightmares about them if I see one on tv or something.

Wendy: SO happy your dog is ok. I would have been freaked out too. Your post brought a tear to my eye. So what workout did you end up doing? Yeah, maybe it is a good thing there is nowhere good to eat around here. :)

Christine: I can for sure get ground turkey. I guess having less options means you have to be more creative. :) Did you end up walking to work?

Judy: I think this little girl is the reason people have kids. She is really sweet. Glad you liked the KB workout! :)

Carole: Yeah, bathroom duty is no fun. I actually hate cleaning but it has to get done. Sometimes I wish I was one of those obsessive compulsive people and kept the house spotless. :D

Karen: That (Karen) is my favorite aunt's name you know. Nice run this morning. How are the girls?

Linda: Nice workout today! :)

Posh: How are you today?

Jackie: We have a good procedure in place at our school. We do have a school liason officer too. He is in uniform and carries a weapon. Glad you are off tomorrow! Hope you have a much deserved restful weekend. :)

Shelly: Good luck with the interview!

Lorie: Sorry you are not doing so well. :(

I am off a bit today, but did manage 6 miles on the tm. I was going to go to school today, but I just don't feel like it. I will try and do some things from home like type up the first day letter, class list, etc. I really need to call that parent about the peanut allergy. I let the kids have a snack time and I am not sure we can even have peanuts in the classroom. I might BBL. :)

I just got back from a pedicure. Mom took me. She had to go in for some test for lesions on her pancreas they found on the PET scan and it will NOT be something they need to biopsy. So she was thrilled. Her medicine for the bone cancer is going well and the doc she saw today says it looks very very good. She has two spots on her spine and two on her skull. Those we knew about but the pancreas he said is not anytihing knew but is realated to the cancer but is not pancreatic cancer. The course of treatment she is on will be enough for the pencil dot lesion on the pancreas. So she wanted to celebrate and took me for a perdicure. Now I have nice red toes to run 9 miles on tomorrow.

Both my mom and dad are doing well. My mom ( update on the kidney stones) has to go get them re blasted next week. The first time it broke it up but not enough so he said he is confident he can be sucessful this time. My mom always cries she isn't stong but she is to me. Bone cancer and Kidney stones would do anyones stress levels in. Plus my dad to boot. Anyhow all is good and she is in great spirits after todays news and the progonis of both things she is dealing with.

Jackie- have a great time on your overnight trip. It sounds like a great way to spend the weekend.

Shelly- Thanks for the info on the eliptical. You know I always love your advice too. You helped me so much in the past and I truly appreciate it. Hope you don't mind me asking. But what on earth do you do that you are in Philly, then the new house in Pa and then at one time I think I remember you being far across the conutry. Are you a nurse? Curiosity has got the best of me.

Gloria- The girls are doing much better today after the trama. So much so they are outside playing wiffle ball with dh while I'm making dinner.

Cathy- Gald the classroom is coming along. Hope it cools down for that evening run.

Hi Cheetahs!

It's been busy here. Y-day I took the kids to Legoland. It just opened and was pretty cool. Pricey, but the kids had fun! The inventory was super low. So, we took a trip down to Toys R Us for some Lego kits. We have another adventure planned for tomorrow. I forgot where I left off as far as workouts??? Tues: iCycle #28/35 and stretch, Wed AM: PUB (the whole thing...it's been awhile since doing the workout as produced...DOMS today :)), Wed PM: track workout w/TNT, today: Keli's foam roller workout (35 minutes) and plan to do a cardio/leg circuit before the night is through.

I'm going to post some personals that post I lost the other day.

Wendi ~ (((HUGS))) That's awesome about the calorie burn while working! Better than an office job, huh???

Judy ~ Glad you figured out the Sparkspeople dilemma. :) Getting the food all logged is the tough part. The kids start next week. We got the supplies all labeled today and packed in the backpack. DS even tried to squeeze his empty lunch box in it. lol My mil is doing as well as to be expected. I dropped off some soup today and she looked good. She's been cutting her hair shorter. Thanks for asking. :)

Cathy ~ How's the tooth? Umm, as for the room, I was going to crash with Carole and Christine, but in light of the new info, eh-hem, "cheese", I think I'll call for a hotel room today.;) I stopped by the running store, again, and thought of you with the Amphipod. I'll have to go read and see if you posted how it went running with it. I almost got the fuel belt with the 4 bottles. lol'd about your Shepherd Smith crush! :D I had to look him up.

Karen ~ Did your DD celebrate w/gum and popcorn??? :D Cute!

Wendy ~ I may have gotten my foam roller so cheap because I got it through my physical therapy place a couple of years ago. It gets the ITB, glutes, piriformis really good! :) I think that's a great idea to carry both water and your choice of electrolyte drink. I can't stomach gatorade. The Nuun water has been working just fine. :)

Shelly ~ I don't care how the belt looks either. When you need to hydrate, it's right there. :) I just wish I could get used to the bounce. Any suggestions? Does the 4 bottled one not bounce as much as the single?

Christine ~ Thanks for posting the lasagna recipe. :)

Carole ~ i think we just don't carry that brand, "Ranch". I looked high and low. I'll improvise. I had looked that can up a few weeks ago when the first store didn't carry it. Thanks though! :) I made Lorie's chicken tortilla soup this week for my mil and thought is was a bit spicy for her even though I used mild everything. I ended up making a beef vegetable for her. She said she liked it. :) WTG on the eye exam and the blood pressure!!! :D I'm happy about Shawn Johnson too. Bummed for Dara Torres though. At least she got the silver.

Linda ~ Glad your DD's are dong fine. :) Do you run everyday for cardio? You log some good miles!

Gloria ~ You'll get the room done. I'm always amazed at all the stuff teachers cram into their rooms and it still looks organized. :) We went to see the kid's classrooms today. It's going to be a good year with some great teachers! I'm so excited for my kiddos! :) Good luck with your work for the principal.

Posh ~ lol'd reading your post about the Olympics. Yes, tivo'd the marathon and Paula was surely in pain. Had to watch it later without dh. ;) You sure have been busy! Thanks about the pix.

Ok, better post this and I'll come back to finish.

Linda ~ I just read your post to Cathy. I think you're doing great. I just said ^^^ that you're logging some good miles. I bet you're being too hard on yourself. How long is Sat's race? You'll be great! :D

Karen ~ IA hormones are the pits!! Glad your 6 miles run was effortless!:D Oh my! I would have totally freaked if I saw my DD's hand sewed into the sewing machine. How's her hand? Glad you got some good news re:your parents. (((HUGS)))

Jackie ~ Great job with MM! enjoy your weekend away. :)

Cathy ~ What did you get from UPS? I might have missed it somewhere? Sorry about that tooth. :( Ouch! That's what happened to me the other day, but I got a database error just when I was going to "submit". UGH! Those almonds sound yummy! :)

Christine ~ WTG on the bike rode to work! Do they have a shower there? Guess you got one anyway. lol Figures it rains.

Lorie ~ A Tiffany medal would help get to the finish line!!! :p Hope you feel better soon.

Wendy ~ Glad your puppy is OK. :)

Gloria ~ WTG on the 6 miles. :) I know when my kids have a fellow student with peanut allergies they can't bring anything in the room that contains peanuts. They now have a designated peanut room on each grade level. The administration worked with a nutritionist and came up with suitable classroom snacks. If we send anything other than what's on the list it gets sent home. They've gotten super strict. I guess they have to be because it could be deadly. :(

I sure hope I didn't miss anyone!

Well, better get moving here. Have a good night!

Evening, friends~

Tested out the Amphipod on tonight's 5K (blogged about it for anyone interested) and then followed with WP.

Gloria :: I like the backpack and gift card idea--cute. She'll think of you every time she uses it...*lol* Not feelin' the set-up yet? I have to say, I think buying a couple of new things each year helps me look forward to it. I decimated one of my art posters today and almost destroyed the laminator in the process, which I'm told would have put me in the doghouse with the Alpha secretary. Thankfully, another secretary saved me, but the poster got shredded. *lol* ...TYVM for the compliment. That means a lot.

Karen :: I'm glad you and your mom were able to celebrate some good news given all the health-related stress lately. Pedicures make for good therapy.

Dallas :: Glad you & the kids are getting out & doing fun things...the tooth is OK...it sure ain't stoppin' me from stuffin' the piehole :)...*lol* The question is what DIDN'T I get from UPS this week. I ordered two posters, two pillows, and a book and DVD for the classroom and a couple of fitness toys (a pilates DVD and weighted vest). Hey, if you are interested in booking your own room, Gloria said she might be considering coming to Chicago. More cheetahs, more fun! :)

Have a great night, all! I'm going to try to make it to Greta tonight. How sad I cannot seem to see the other side of 10 pm lately.

I just woke up from a nap. I thought it was morning. :) I know, a little late, but I needed that nap for sure.

Dallas: It is a bit overwhelming getting everything ready for the big day. I do truly love it though. That is exactly what I was thinking with the peanut allergy. I will be calling his mom tomorrow. So what are your plans for Chicago? Are you staying in a hotel with the rest of the girls?

Karen: Glad to hear the girls are doing well.

Cathy: I have had some run ins with the laminator too. Now we are not allowed to use it. LOL! There is only one person in the building who operates it. You are welcome for the compliment. :) You never mess with the Alpha secretary! :)

DH is fishing with a customer from the shop. He bought a fishing kayak and is not so good with the boats. DH said he is worse than me, which is hard to imagine. He was scared to go by himself, which is brave to admit, and asked DH to go with him. Good night everyone.

Evening Cheetahs.

Heading to bed after this so I'll catch up with personals in the a.m. Just wanted to say that I ended up taking a complete rest day today. I took a longer then usual nap and then just was totally NOT motivated to work out. I was planning on a Turbo Jam which has a large fun factor for me and I STILL couldn't bring myself to do it. Oh well. I had planned on taking my rest day tomorrow so now I'll just work out tmrw instead. No big deal. I'm more upset that I missed a run but I was going miss that either way.

My dog's symptoms are ALREADY starting to dissapate! YAY! :) He looks sooo much better already then he did this morning. Phew!

So my diet was wonderful all day long until I got to my mom's house....Chinese food dinner...LOTS of chinese food AND a beer...AND a piece of dark chocolate right before leaving to come home...I can't even guesstimate how much I ate so I'm not even going to TRY to put it into the nutrition program. Thankfully I was still a couple hundred cals from the low end of my calorie range when I left to go to mom's so the damage COULD have been worse, right? ;)

Tomorrow must be a stellar day! Remind me that I said that if I say I want to put some kind of garbage in my mouth! LOL

Okay, off to bed with me...Goodnight peeps!:)
