Cathlete
Good morning,

I am surprised that I am the first to post. I have been MIA again. We went and signed the contract lastnight with the builder. I am so excited but we do still have to wait for the health dept to approved everything but we are thinking there shouldnt be a problem. I already bought my daughters new bedroom bedspread and sheets. I went to kohls and looked for mine and DH and boy do they want alot for a queen size bedding. 200.00. I have never sent that much before but I am considering it,just this one time. I hade bootcamp class yesteray morning and will run after work today with my friend. I will chat later today after I get home. But hope you all have a great weekend!!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Laura, The only time anyone else ever starts this thread is when early-bird Cathy is outta town!:7 Congrats on the signed contract. I hope the health dept approval goes as smoothly as you figure it should. If you wait for Kohl's to have a sale they will give you some nice discounts on thier stuff. I LOVE THAT STORE! I have thier credit card and get discount coupons that you can use against ANYTHING including clearance and sale items so I have gotten some pretty awesome deals there. I think every comforter set I've had over the last several years has been from Kohl's.:) Have a nice run today.

Well I am still planning on my run this morning. I have Itread 9/40 mins to try out. I hope I like it!:+

I'll be back a bit later to see what's going on.

Good Morning ladies,

:( today was supposed to be my second 5k. however i am not running today. allergy season has really gotten to me. i have weak skin around my right eye. so each year around this time due to allergies, my eye gets so irritated that it breaks out with little bumps on the bottom eyelid. it's all red and painful. so i am bailing out on the race today...x(

i think i will run on the TM at home using one of my itreads.

laura- i am so excited for you. having your home built is so wonderful.

wendy- have fun with your itread. how is the house selling going?

have a great day ladies!

Good morning everyone!

I have been sooo busy at work that I have not got to post for a couple of days. Spring and Summer is crazy!

Laura - That is great about the contract! Congratulations and good luck! That is so exciting! Good job on the bootcamp and enjoy the run!

Wendy - Enjoy the iTread! Hope you like that one! Let us know what you think of it! I need to download another one and I don't know which one. There are so many to choose from!

Sunny - I am sorry about the allergies! I have hay fever and my eyes used to swell along the bottom rim and corner so bad that it almost looked like that area was inside out. It was awful! Seems like after I hit around 30 y/o....my allergies have gotten some better...but still awful. I am sure they will be affecting my outdoor runs soon! Sorry you missed the 5K! Enjoy your ITread!

Thursday I ran 6 miles and did Cathe's C&T. Yesterday I did Gin Miller's Simply step and floorwork from Vol I (Firm). I plan on running today ....either outside or TM and maybe a total body weight....not sure which one!

Hi to everyone and hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Linda

Laura-congrats on the house. I hope the rest goes smoothly.

Wendy-oh...iTread. I love them! ENJOY!!!

Sunnyd-sorry to hear about your eyes and the allergies. NEXT TIME! Do you have any other races scheduled???

Well, I did end up taking a 100% rest day yesterday and it felt so good this morning! Renewed and ready to go. I was scheduled for an easy 4 mile run, but I just wanted something different. So I did LIC plus the bonus cardio instead. I loved it and had so much fun. Sometimes, when training for an event like this and the mileage creeps up there, I lose concentration on some runs. But now I feel like I can tackle tomorrow's long run (10) with more gusto. This coming week is our hardest week and highest mileage before the beloved taper. ONE MORE HARD WEEK and it's all smooth sailing from there.

ANYWAY.....today's plan. This afternoon, the boys are doing "Scrambled Eggs in the Pool" at the YMCA. An egg hunt in the pool. How cool is that? LOL

BBL Have an AWESOME weekend.

Gayle

Good morning cheetahs

Laura...sounds like things are moving along for your house. Yes seems like any bedding seems expensive these days, especially if you like the higher thread count sheets...YIKES!

Wendy...sounds like a fun workout yesterday with HSTA and L&B! Have a good run with ITread.

Sunny...so sorry about your allergies and having to bail on the 5K. I finally went to the Doctor years ago and got on prescription meds. Now things are fine. The eye itching would drive me batty!

Linda...good workout yesterday! Enjoy whatever you decide on today.

Gayle...good workout today. An egg hunt in a pool sounds interesting..:)

Karen..wow...sounds like you got the body all over yesterday!

Shelly...yes the cardio section of BBC Arms & Abs is quite tough. I knew you would survive the Wendy challenge! Yes, I did get in 3 runs last week and I feel good today. I know if I am to keep exercising it will just take longer for this stuff to go away!

Jackie...normally when I do Freestyle I don't work my legs on a long run day, so yes, they do get a break. So is it raining this morning?

Emily...Yes, I started having piriformis problems about a month ago. I have some back pain on the other side and the upward dog move kills me so I have avoided Yoga. I am getting a massage every month and also using the foam roller and tennis ball to really get into the muscles daily. The Body Attack class sounds like a killer workout!

Christine...Yes the biceps work is ouchie in PUB! Good job! You are so welcome, and don't owe me nothing. Prayers to me are a pleasing way to help...:)...I guess next year when the cell phone law goes into effect, we might just see less accidents and most likely less people talking on the phone while they drive. When the article comes out I would love to have a link to read it...:)

Susan...I agree that the Chiro can really help at this point. It was about 80 yesterday here. I have seen mountain lion tracks but never any of them. I do always feel they are in the bushes watching you sometimes. I did have an encounter with a bear once...:)...he smelled me and bolted uphill...Thank god!! I remember "Go Fish", that was a favorite game of mine as a kid.

I am not sure of what I want to do today. Either BBC Fullbody or Cathe's BC....

Have a great day...:)

Hi Cheetahs,

Laura, glad to hear things are going smoothly so far on the building of your house. Wow! Bootcamp and a run in one day. Just thinking about it makes me tired.

Wendy, have fun with itreads. What does the 9/40 mean?

Sunny, sorry you did not get to run your 5K, but have fun with your itread.

Linda, enjoy your run.

Gayle, the egg hunt sounds like fun. What will they hide the eggs under? Good job taking a rest day and glad you had fun with LIC.

Carole, you are brave to run with the mountain lions and bears. Where do you live? Hope you continue to feel better.

I plan on a tempo run today if I can make it out before the rain starts again. If I don't make it, I'll do cardio camp.

Have a wonderful day.

Hey all!

Another busy day today, but this one should be fun! A workout (a Spinervals if my bike is secure enough, if not – I’m not sure what, maybe an outside ride!). Then it’s get my nails done, do some groceries as we’re having dinner guests – DH’s boss and his wife are coming over for steaks, so I’m going to Whole Foods for those. Swing by REI for a new trainer (can’t live without my trainer!), then dinner, then DD14’s musical – I’m so looking forward to seeing it.

DH had a change of heart and now wants Moose or Taycin. I told him I would see if they were available. I cannot imagine they would be, but we’ll see. I’m actually fine with that because I know she’s a reputable breeder, the mom is a “smiler” so the pups probably will be as well. And the puppies are so very well socialized. I simply have to figure out the back end of what to do.

I am dealing with DOMS from PUB – mainly in my shoulders, actually! Weird.

Laura – Oh wow! How exciting! I’ll bet you’re very busy with the new house!! I’m glad you started the thread and told us about it!

Wendy – Enjoy your run!! Sounds like a great one. I like the iTreads!

Sunny – oh! Allergies are no fun!! Does nothing help you – like Claritin or any of the new prescriptions? My boss is totally under the weather from allergies. Sorry you had to miss a race!

Linda – Don’t you hate when work gets in the way of play? Sounds like you had an awesome workout!

Gayle – I love that feeling of being 100% strong and ready to go! Sounds like you’re ready for the half! That egg hunt sounds like a blast!!

Carole – I’m looking forward to the no cell phones. It’ll be nice to see people driving again without a phone plastered to their ear. But I guess we can do hands free devices – so it’s no better. It’s not the hand on the phone – it’s that people get so wrapped up in talking that they don’t pay attention. Oh well. Thanks and enjoy your workout!

Susan – yeah! Those mountain lion sightings have been in your area, haven’t they? Scary. I have seen tracks, too – once in the early morning fog before a search training when Tucker and I were hiking – that was a bit scary. Those tracks are BIG!

Karen – Enjoy your tempo run! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you get out before the rain!

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Good morning cheetahs! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start. We have a few who are away on trips:7 My legs are doing okay after yesterdays challenge of L&B and BG leg blast but my butt..... we're talking major booty DOMS here! Well, I guess I am certified insane because I downloaded some iTreads yesterday and of course I just had to try one and ended up going 7 miles. Today I will definitely lighten up my workout.... sort of;-)

Susan- Glad your chiro appt went well for you. Have a great time on your trip to Monterey (beautiful area!!!)

Laura- Congratulations on signing the contract!!! That's a momentous occasion.... and a little scary too ;-) Did your builder give you a rough estimate about when it'll be done? Provided all goes well with the remaining permits of course. Have a great run today!

Wendy- Those iTreads are great for pushing more out of you than you otherwise think you can deliver!! Anymore X workouts to go?

Linda- I did notice you weren't posting the last coupla days.... missed ya! 6 miles is an awesome midweek run:eek: I'm really liking those BBC workouts. The only one I haven't tried yet is the total body.

Gayle- Sounds like you needed your rest day! I bet tomorrows 10 miler will fly by for you. I can't imagine where you could hide eggs in a pool!!!

Carole- Going for a long run tomorrow? The BBC total body is the only one I haven't tried yet. I originally was going to do it today but the legs (or butt rather) are just too fried and I'll be sticking with upper body today.

Karen- I'm so glad you've joined our cheetah check in!!! :)
Tempo runs are tough.... hope yours goes well today!

Today will be LIC upperbody circuit, abs from B&G and later some work on the EXT:7 DH and I also plan on a nice long motorcycle ride today. He got me the coolest motorcycle jacket for my B-Day,
I'll have to post a pic of me in my full biker gear!!!

ShellyC

Hi Christine!! Posting at the same time today :D You sure do have a full day planned! I hope REI has a good trainer in stock for you.
I just love school musicals! Does your DD have a starring role? Doesn't matter though, I'm sure she is a big star in your eyes no matter what!

ShellyC

Hey Shelly! No, DD is in the choir (she dances a bit, too), but she's only a freshman and the way the school works is that you have to prove yourself as a choir member (go to the rehersals, be of good attitude...) and then you get better roles. I'm excited.

Love the DH got you a motorcycle jacket for your BDay! How fun! Yeah! I want to see a photo!!

Hey girls!

Quick check in for me and then I have to hit the showers...I did Itread 9/40 mins this morning as planned. It's a good one...TOUGH! The first part is alot of incline running alternated with the flats. Grace has you run a bit slower on the hills then on the flats but not much. Then at the end of that segment there is an 8% hill that you alternate walking/slow running on. After that it's a couple of sprints, a short flat run, and some speed walking to finish it off.

I'm off to a B'day party for DH's neice this afternoon. She's turning 11. She seems so much older but I guess that's just the way kids are these days. It's scarey!

Okay...I'll bbl to see what everyone is up to and hopefully I can get personals in as well!

Ciao Bellas!:+

Good morning everyone!

Laura - Glad you got the contract signed. I know you are excited. Have you checked out any of those comforter sets that have everything included? Some of those look really nice.

Wendy - How did the run go? Did you like iTread 9?

Sunny - Sorry you had to cancel your race. Allergies are terrible this time of year. My worst season is fall and hay fever.

Linda - Hope you had a good run.

Gayle - Glad you enjoyed your workout! Have a good run tomorrow. You almost got it licked.

Carole - No rain yet but it is cloudy. Glad you're feeling good. Enjoy your workout. Thanks re: freestyle. As my miles get longer, I want to go back and look at my rotation and make sure I'm not working my legs the day before. I can really feel the difference when I do.

Karen - Hope the rain didn't spoil your run today.

Christine - Hope you got your Spinervals workout in. Enjoy your manicure, dinner and dd musical. Good luck with the pup decision.

Shelly - Yay for the DOMS, I think. Great job on the 7 miles after that killer workout. Yes, post that biker picture. Enjoy your ride.

The rain held off this morning and I got in my 8 miles. It was windy. The last mile was hard but I did it. Took about a minute walk break 3 times to get some water. I was in the park and it seemed to be dog day. I had to pull out my mace a couple of times because 3 of them wanted to follow me. They weren't on a leash and the owners weren't around. And, I'm terrified by strange dogs. Then there were 2 Yorkshire terriers on a leash that wanted to chase me. Didn't pull the trigger on that mace but it was ready to go. Came back and did Stretch Max #1. Really needed that. Now, my stomach feels like a bottomless pit and I had a big breakfast.

Have a great Saturday!

Jackie

Hey Jackie!

Check out the post above yours. I posted about Itread 9 there!:) I know what you mean about the bottomless pit after a good work out! I am ALWAYS famished after exercise...the more intense, the more hungry I am and I always eat before I work out too.

Karen...I live in Northern Calif. About 2 hours from the Oregon border. The bear was kind of a one time thing...I hope!!...enjoy your run if it does not rain.

Christine...sounds like a fun, busy day for you! So DH is feeling better about things? I can just feel a new puppy will work out for you all. I do think the bluetooth will make cell phone talking better, but you are right people need to pay attention when talking!!!

Shelly..."lighten up your load???"....now you have me laughing...if I didn't have this piriformis pain I would have done Wendy's challenge, but I think it might have been nuts to try it. Yes, I do want to see Shelly the biker! I will probably do about 6 miles tomorrow...I am being safe...BTW, did you get my email?

Jackie...remember this about the dogs. The big ones will bark and scare you but usually it is the little ones that bite. I have had some not fun encounters myself. Good job on the 8 miles. As far as Freestyle I think if you just did floorwork the day before a long run, you would be okay.

I did SJP today. But subbed a 20 min iTread on my EXT for the first 16 min step and 5 min Hi/lo, then did the rest of SJP subbing my EXT for the hi/lo...it was quite fun...:)
