::: CHEETAHS ::: BOSU Lovers Unite :-) Mon.

Hello!!

I'm laughing at the thread title! I heart my Bosu too!! :D

I tried out HSC on the Bosu Sunday. I was having a good ol' time!!! Thanks for posting that (I forgot who that was???) Later, after dd's soccer game I did a treadmill run called "The Foothills". A friend had sent it to me a long time ago. I'm pretty sure it came out of Fitness RX? I have it saved in my documents if your interested. It's 40 minutes with a gradual increase in grade (only to 5%) and then back down the hill. I stayed on the treadmill to finish out the 5th mile. I always have to make it even some how. ;-)

Today, I did Kelly's Step Kickbox the latest one, but only the vertical portion, then Tracey's S.U.B.. I'm still undecided on what type of rotation I want to follow this month. I'm leaning towards circuits though. Anyone have a good suggestion? Next month, I'm hoping to start my first P90X rotation. I scared! :+

OK, I have to go read and catch up here. Be right back.

Cathy ~ LOL!!! Your emoticons are too funny! Well, how long do I have to give to stay on that darn thing during Bosu Blast?!?! ha ha! I did ok with HSC, but you know much it's used during that workout. LOL! I'll keep working at it. That's a nice picture of you and the bride. You are very photogenic. :)

Lori ~ You son is absolutely adorable!! Happy belated b-day to him. I'm planning a 5 y/o b-day for my youngest. Where did that time go?!?!?? :( You look great, btw!! :)

Wendi ~ You're right - be careful what we wish for...oh my about the tree!! Another workout I've noted for the Bosu (DM). :)

Carole ~ I was rooting hard for the Chargers. I'm a Bears fan, but since they're out I'm rooting for dh's team. I'm pretty sure he bit his nails off during the first half. We all have LT jersey's here. It's funny when we wear them out around here. Sorry to hear about your race. :( Hos did you get injured?

Wendy ~ That's why the UPS just knocked on my door!!! I figured it was for dh, so kept right on posting. I'll go check and see if it's P90X+ when I finish. Did Amy give you an attitude adjustment? ;-) :+ I liked Slo Mo. I DID NOT like those hammy rockers though and there was one other leg exercise I dreaded....I can't remember.x(

Christine ~ Good luck with your presentation!! Sorry about the scale, but how does your clothes feel. I try to avoid the scale as much as possible. :7 Way to go on your race achievements. Between you ladies and my neighbor it won't be long before I sign up again. She's been talking about it too for some time.

Shelly ~ I keep checking out All Body Attack. It comes highly recommended. Is this the first time using the Bosu with it?

Lorie ~ That's terrible about your dissertation. How long do you have to work on this topic now?

Judy ~ Your Bosu mish mosh looks good! Thanks for the welcome!

Jackie ~ Enjoy your rest day! Thanks for the welcome too!! :)

Linda ~ Back to work, huh? What do you do? Yeah, try an iCycle really soon. I have a love/hate relationship with my spin bike. :+

Kristi ~ I've never tried that Slo Mo Total Body? How long is it?

Gosh, I hope I didn't forget anyone???

Got to go pick up ds...I'll try and get back. However, it's back to school, homework, soccer practices, etc. UGH!!

Dallas

Good news! No Stress fracture!

Susan...good job with HSC and then today have fun with your EXT and B&G. I do the same with relaxing and ignoring most pain, but as I have found this could have been from running the Chi way and being lazy!

Shelly...now I wanna be at your house to play in the snow! Be so careful going out in it. I know the racing would aggravate my hip, I was just bummed. So what workouts did you order? Enjoy your tempo run and ABA.

Jackie...good job with Mix it up.

Christine...I was happy for the Chargers but both teams did not play great. We are supposed to get some heavy rain tomorrow but hopefully no wind! Good job with KBX...Amy's core work is very differnet and a nice change of pace.

Wendy...sorry about the cranky mood, you and I would not have much fun together as I have been a bit depressed. I bet Amy will help your mood and Congrats on getting P90X+!!!!

Dallas...you could look thru Cathe's rotations and see if she has a circuit based one. I am sorry as I don't know if she does. I think you will love P90X! I like the Bears too. I do think LT is a great running back and was happy to see the Chargers win. I get looks too when I where a Raiders shirt here in 49erville...:D..I think I got injured because I am old!! I have been having some outer thigh/hip pain, and during long runs it has gotten real sore. I think as I started Chi running in Aug, I might have lost some focus on the form, got lazy and stressed out either muscles or tendons in that area. I need to back off mileage and focus on my form and hope it heals quick!

So my nephew used a tuning fork all over my hip and down my left leg. No pain when he did so I feel that does rule out a stress fracture. My nephew never thought I had one due to my symptoms and he says they are not common...but good to rule it out. He feels it is muscle or tendon related. I did my EXT this morning and will do Amy's Slo-mo legs and abs later today. WOW, it is so nice to see the sun...:)

Hi Girls.

Yes, my mood has improved!;)

My work out is done. I did Slo Mo Back and Shoulders Split + the Core work. I liked the back and shoulder work but was not a fan of the core work.

I am drinkin' my first Beach Body recovery drink and I hate to say it but...not impressed. It's too sweet! Perhaps I need to water it down more. I followed the directions and used 12 ounces of water. I'll try more water next time and see what happens but I may opt for the Recoverite in the end. I will finish this batch up regardless though!

GTG for now but I'll be back later for personals!:)

Happy Monday Cheetah Friends!

I got a response from the NIKE marathon email inquiry and they say the registration opened last year on March 1st (uh hem, a rather fine day of the year I must say…lol) and that we can keep watching www.nikemarathon.com for details on registration. I also called the 800 number and got the same info except the woman indicated that this year MAY be a lottery system…boo. We’ll see though, and I’ll keep checking the website daily for info. In case it wasn’t already mentioned and I can’t remember if so, here’s the date of the Nike 26.2 women’s full and half marathon: Sunday, October 19, 2008.

Well day ONE of my 12 week challenge is off to a good start eventhough I overslept only 20 minutes. LOL I set my alarm for enough snooze hitting of 20 minutes so it was ok. I got in the upper body workout and have been eating all my pre planned things. Actually I have to remember to eat the stuff! The 6 small meals thing keeps me feeling pretty full though!

Cathy – WOO HOO! Good luck with your WW Points system today! You can do it…Our candy dish at work just got RESTOCKED and I tell ya, I just keep catching myself reaching for it unconsciously Stressful days around here, like today will do that for me but I’ve been patting myself on the back and saying atta girl each time I pass the candy by. I know; I’m a dork but it works…BTW – I agree with the others; your pics are devine!

Hi Sunny! – I bet the UPS personnel have a special training to deal with customers that LOOK as if they may attack! LOL - I’ve done the SAME thing to my UPS guy.. One year I felt so bad that he had to come down our road several times in one week that I greeted him at the driveway with a plateful of Christmas cookies!

Lori – Awe, sorry about the treadmill problems- I’ve been there myself. I hear ya, I had to pay a lot to get mine fixed but this time I bought a stoooopid warranty to go with it…Good luck and I hope you find something at a good price.

Judy – THANKS for the extra support! I am feeling great and motivated today and so far am finding this BFL business easy breezy to do….I LOVE steel cut oats with apples! And cranberries….and walnuts…and almonds….lol…Hope the run went well!

Lorie – Glad you are able to turn your horrible experience into a positive one…obviously this will make things much better – but you already knew that!

Wendy – So happy you got your GOODIES!!! Yay!

Wendi – Another BOSU Cheetah! I think our new logo will be a cheetah bouncing on the BOSU….There’s a burger place like that in our neck of the woods that DH just loves to feast at. If I join him, I usually get the VEGGIE burger though….lol

Kristi – Hi there! Good job getting the run in….

Christine – Thanks for the encouragement! You’ll be fine, water weight can play such games. Just keep on keepin’ on and suddenly the magic of scales will shine…Hope your presentation goes well!

Carole – Sending good vibes your way for the hip! Hopefully he rules out a fracture! Did you get any snow? We had a little but when I got to work today (Grass Valley) we had a few inches on the ground…of course up the road a piece is entirely another story! LOL

Susan – Your Chrissy Kitty is very cute and I’m glad to see you had a great holiday with your dad in Chicago. What a great souvenir, eh?...lol

Shelly – Yeah, I get a kick out of a few inches of snow as well. Just a few miles up the road though, they get quite a bit... LOL – yeah, I’m now the “Posh” cheetah and when I get my challenge over with and take that trip to Canyon Ranch, I’ll REALLY be the Posh Cheetah here, huh? Lol. I just don’t know how you can be the scary cheetah???!?!??!

Hi Jackie! Have fun with the training!

Hi Dallas! - My DS loves the BEARS! Nice to meet you – Another BOSU Cheetah –YAY!

Well it is that time to get back to work gals…I’ll take a peek back later if I get time…Have a great day!

Thomasina “Posh Cheetah”….

carole- your pics are beautiful!! thanks for sharing...aww, the good ol' 80's:7

thomasina- lol, i will have to try the cookies next time. enjoy the rest of your evening.

hello all. i just finished abs and core on the bosu from bosu blast. i can't make it to the end of all those crunches with your arm and leg swinging. abs on the bosu are really tough!!! then, i did the stability ball segment from stretchmax.

wendi-how was DM on the bosu? i was thinking of doing bosu blast tomorrow but maybe i'll try dm.

kristi-sounds like you had a nice rest weekend!

christine-i wouldn't put too much stock in the scale. there are soooo many reasons your weight can fluctuate. just keep doing what you are doing.

carole-i made the oatmeal from the same thread the other recipes were on. it is soooooo yummy! i didn't think i'd like the apples in it, but i love it! i am SOOOOO glad you don't have a stress fracture. yay! OMG...love the wedding pics!

susan-glad you have time to relax now that school is back in session. btw, did you get my PM? i wanted to make sure you got your calendar because i don't remember reading about it. let me know if you haven't and i'll see what happened.

shelly-OMG i am petrified of any race that's in san fran!!! it's got to be hilly (and you know i hate hills). although...the swag is enough motivation to run the hills. i do know i was bothered by the elevation when we were in the smokey mountains. do you think it will be as bad? you ordered bosu blast? i think you will like it. i really like it which is surprising because it's not cathe!

jackie-hope you are not working too hard!!!

wendy-yay for you getting p90x+!!! i can't believe you are actually going to wait to do it!

dallas-for the dissertation you basically have as long as you need to get it done. some people take years. that WILL NOT be me. i really, really want to be done in a year.

thomasina-i am so geeked for doing the marathon. i really hope it's not a lottery. i would really like for all of us that want to go to be able to do it. hey, it can't be worse than registering for the cathe road trip (i am so going to be stalking my computer next time!!!).

i hope you wonderful ladies are having a wonderful evening!

Hi, cheetahs!

I opted out of the psychic reading dinner. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/merv/crystalball.gif Sinuses kicked into overdrive this morning (just some lingering junk from that from that cold I had), and I decided I simply wasn’t up for such a late night. I’ll enjoy a good stretch and an early bedtime.

Sunny :: My new rotation keeps the Monday yoga or stretch day and the remaining days alternate heavy weights with cardio. Two times per week the cardio will be 20 min. HIIT. The other day will be a run.

Lori :: hope you can score a good deal on a TM through DH’s work. That would be nice – and well-deserved for a cheetah like you who racks up the miles!

Judy :: thanks!…hope you enjoyed the milder temps out on your run today. How did you like having breakfast beforehand?

Wendy :: I laughed at your post…did you mean surviving the points-counting or just the day in general? *lol* I wasn’t exactly a big ball of sunshine this morning, was I? http://www.therpgsite.com/forums/images/smilies/emot-grouchy.gif Well, I must admit, I am finding it tough to return to healthy habits after going whole hog the way I have lately.

Lorie :: Oh man, I feel you on the full week thing…Here’s something to make you smile: I accidentally stumbled upon a smiley wearing a tinfoil hat!! http://www.therpgsite.com/forums/images/smilies/emot-tinfoil.gif I admire the great attitude you’ve got about your dissertation…I’m a big believer in that sometimes the roadblocks and detours we encounter turn out to be there for a reason…Anyway, keep up that fightin’ spirit & go get ‘em!…Good idea on the b’days…I think it’s time we updated. I keep a list in birthdayalarm.com…Do you want me to forward it to you or would it be easier for folks to PM me? Up to you. I don’t mind…Oh, and thank you. :)

Wendi :: what a late day for you! Hope today isn’t the same…Now you’ve got me wantin’ to try DM with the BOSU…WW was working well for me pre-holidays, so I hope it does the trick with these last remaining lbs.

Christine :: how’d the presentation go?…Very cool about DD15 thinking of becoming a lit teacher. As you know, I love what I do, so I can only endorse the profession as an incredibly fulfilling one…Can’t blame ya for wanting to take full advantage of the fresh powder!!…Crackin’ up at the yahoos in the ditches…WOO-HOO on the scale going down! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/exercise/th_2313.gif

Carole :: SO glad to hear it’s not a stress fracture!!! Whew!…Sorry you’ve been down. Injury-related?…LOVE the pics!!! What a good-looking pair you are.

Susan :: did you enjoy a nice, peaceful day today?…Good to hear the update on Mary. I’m glad the heavy-duty stuff is past.

Shelly :: I never get tired of snow…what a treat for you! Take any pics? Would love to see it…Thank you. I feel I am looking better these days than I have in a long time, but I am working on being less self-critical. It’s funny, I read somewhere once that when it comes to describing themselves, like in personal ads, men tend to overestimate their looks and women underestimate them.

Jackie :: how did the training go?

Dallas :: sounds like you have a full day today….I’d say, I did a lot better staying on the 2nd time around…I still fall off during a lot of the core work, though. *lol*

Thomasina :: absolutely, I do the stress eating thing, too. I do a working lunch in my classroom every day, so I’m not around any temptations, luckily. I keep nothing in my desk but TicTacs…love the idea for the cheetah logo…Crackin’ up at you greeting the UPS man with a plate of cookies.

Hi Kristi!

cathy-if you've already got a list made up, maybe the people who never sent in theirs should send them to you? then again, i don't mind putting together a contact list (email, address) with birthdays. let me know what you think is the best way to go about it. i just want to make sure we recognize everyone's bdays!

eta: i CAN'T believe you found a tin foil hat smiley. you HAVE to go share it with the oal. tell them i sent ya! ;-)

Hi Girls.

Wendi: DM ultra cardio??? Sounds SCAREY! I haven't done most of the premixes for DM yet. I have the attention span of a flea so I'm always onto to something else before I finish "playing" with something I bought prior! :7

Christine: I hope you figure out what's stalling your weight loss soon. I know how frustrating it can be when you think you are doing everything right yet the scale won't budge!:-( Glad you got your presentation together!

Carole: Glad your hip is okay. Your wedding pics are great! I love 'em! Nobody does the cake smashing much anymore and I think it's so lame. Ofcourse, I only got a dab on my nose at my wedding too so I guess I should talk! ;) :p :7

Susan: So glad the Bickersons are back at school. ;) The X+ vids are a collection of 5 dvds that are follow-up work outs to P90X. I will try them next week!!!}(

Shelly: I hope you and DH made it out and back safely in that snow! How amazing that you even got snow in AZ in the first place! WOW! I hope it melts fast!:)

Jackie: I see you are delving back into SS these days. I've been thinking about those work outs alot for some reason. I guess a rotation of some kind is in my future. LOL

Sunny: Glad you atleast got your weighted gloves. I've been back and forth about getting a pair of them but I've got a growing wish list of equipment type items that I want so I may finally give in and just put them on that list!}(

Dallas: Don't be scared of the X!...Well...Okay...maybe just a LITTLE scared! LOL Seriously though, it's AWESOME! So worth it if you stick to it! Good luck girl! We know you can do it! I'll be trying out the X+ for the first time next weeks! Talk about scared! LOL

Lorie: ITA about ab work on the bosu. I did 2 ab segments from The Parts Series which are done on the bosu. OMG did it hurt! LOL

Cathy: I was referring mostly to your sinus troubles and your mood. :)

Hiya Cheetah babes!!!

So ME never happpened this evening because I got home too late :(. I haven't done that one in a while and was really looking forward to it. Oh well...maybe Wed or Thurs.

Wendy - *Joins in doing the happy dance for you* I'm sorry work got you into a cranky funk. Nothing like a little sweat to get rid of that though...and maybe a visit from the UPS man :+! LOL about not "playing" with DM. I have to admit that it's not one of my fave Cathe vids. For some reason there's a high dread factor for me but having fun on my Bosu took care of that. I actually wish that there was more that I COULD do ont he Bosu. I was a sopping wet puddle o' goo when it was all said and done!

Christine - Try not to let the small move on the scale get to you. I have to agree that it's probably just water weight. Like you said...increased fiber plus hardcore workouts...I think you hit the nail on the head. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised when next week rolls around! I'll quit talking about the Bosu when you stop rambling on about how wonderful ASCII is :p ;-)...J/K!!! Sorry back to work sucked. Like I said to Wendy...amazing what a little sweat can do to get you back on track!

Carole - Oh, I love your pics...so beautiful!!! So glad to hear that it isn't a fracture! I'm sorry you had to pull out of the relay but I think you were very wise for doing so. I know you'll be back in fighting form soon enough!

Susan - It sounds like we have a lot of HSC fans around here, me included :7. I don't know about the rest of the ladies here but that Bosu really kicks up my HR!!! I normally consider those two step drills recovery but not this time ! I actually found the "hard" drills to be more of a recovery. So nice to hear that Mary is doing well. I was thinking about her the other day. I hope you enjoyed your very peaceful day free of the Bickersons.

Shelly - Oh, how beautiful it must be there! Enjoy every minute of it but do be careful out there. Christine is right...people (at least here) tend to turn into jack@$$&$ when it snows. The only problem with Bosu DM...not enough Bosu lol :p!

Jackie - Great workout! Hope to see you tomorrow!

Sunny - Too funny about the UPS guy! You'll have those new Xs in your hot little hands soon enough!

Dallas - Great run yesterday..especially after Bosu HSC! That was the first workout I tried with the Bosu and I was insantly hooked! I'm currently trying to do predominently circuits after spending a lot of time with 4DS last month. I'm sorry I can't offer any advice rotation-wise. Because of work, I can barely plan a day in advance what workout I will be able to get in let alone a full rotation. I'm always having to *ahem* improvise x( :(.

"Posh" - So glad to hear you're finally home safe and sound! I *LOVE* the logo idea...too funny, and appropriate these days! I hope you guys are able to that mary and GTG...too bad that it MAY be a lottery. LOL...I *always* order the "good" items on the menu but last night I said WTH and enjoyed every last bite. I just won't do it again anytime soon ;). WTG on getting off to a great start!

Lorie - Oh, come on...you know you'll have a fantastic time in SF :7!!! Nice workout today...I'm kind of askeered of ab work on the Bosu. As I said to Shelly...DM is a great workout overall but I wish there was more I could have done on the Bosu. I'd say go for Bosu Blast if you're really looking for a more Bosu-specific workout. How is your piriformis feeling? Too funny about the tin foil smiley LOL!

Cathy - A psychic reading dinner, huh? Sounds interesting but definitely not as nice a good stretch and early bedtime! Count me in as another one who is having trouble getting back on track after the holidays. I got my sweet-tooth back and it hasn't been pretty. I WILL get back on track though! Congrats on your new "arrival" due Weds!

Well, speaking of early bedtimes...that's where I'm off to. I really want to get to the gym tomorrow morning for a nice steady state run...probably between 6-8 miles. I'll have to see how much time I have before work and how quickly I can wake up ;). I wish I could have gotten out to enjoy an O/D run in this record heat we're enjoying but I probably won't get home from work until late tomorrow night. Oh well, such is life. I can only do what I can do. Nightie night Cheetahs!

OY VEY! I am happy I am not starting the X again until next week! It's gonna take me that long to figure out what rotation I want to do! AAAAHHHH! LOL

Well, best get ready for bed now.

Ciao Cheetah Girls!:)
