:::: CHEETAHS :::: beautiful spring sunday 4.22

Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs :)

Another beautiful day here in Jersey. Finally! I'm so happy spring is here now. Esp. after the N'easter that kept us in grayness for days! Today's workout will be a run followed by CS.

Yesterday, after my run, I opted not to do a yoga tape but instead followed my own series of poses + some work with the foam roller for about a half hour. It felt good.

Personals from yesterday...

Jackie :: sounds like a nice day - except for the headache. Loud scenes can do that to ya. Hope it's gone today...Today is the last day of the w/out week for me, so CS fits in nicely. I'll be happy having gotten it in 1.5 times this week.

Shelly :: awesome time! Pretty durn speedy, if you ask me! I'm looking forward to the full race report and the pics.

Heather :: How great to hear some encouraging words as you continue on your weight loss journey...I know that, for me, the compliments/comments from others have helped motivate and give me a boost along the way...Sounds like you met up with her pimp - in which case he undoubtedly is not going to let her go. I would definitely say don't go there alone anymore - day or night.

Hope everyone has a great day! BBL
~Cathy :)

Warm Sunday Greetings to all Cheetahs :)

Cathy- The blood work spill doesn't sound pleasant... Yes it finally is a nice day in the north east. We all need to take advantage of it :) ...Nice run yesterday

Jackie- I am doing a RW 10K plan too. I am only doing 'moderate' trainning for 6 weeks. Then I will reevaluate, and kick it up if I am injury free.

Shelly- You had a fabulous 'Race for the Cheetah' yesterday! Congratulations! I will check back for the pictures later.

Heather- You are a special person to seek out the woman you met, but please be very careful... The doctor who stopped and praised your efforts was right on the mark. It is always nice to get encouragement along the way. The ::cheetahs:: are really good for that. The fact that he saw a noticeable difference and mentioned it is kudos to you :)

Wendy- Did you ever get enough coffe to do a WO yesterday? I actually had a slight hangover
x( x( yesterday morning (never got here to post) and managed to do PP as produced. But there was no way I could do the ~inverted shoulder press~. My head did not appreciate being upside down LOL. Last night we went to dinner and my pre dinner drink was a bottle of mineral water. There was no way I was having 2 hangovers in one weekend!

Carole- What is on tap for your Sunday?

Christine- That mish mosh from yesterday sounds evil but I may have to try it at some point.

Susan- I am sincerely praying for your friend, keep us posted.

Hi Linda!

Today is my scheduled rest day. I am meeting my girl friends for a round of golf. DH will be golfing with his buddies a little ahead of us. It will be a truly active rest day. Then it is pasta dinner with family.

The count down begins. We leave on Friday.

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..OMG...sorry about the bloodwork. I once had a girl go right thru my vein and twist the needle around...I said "Yeah, THAT does hurt!!", I have gone to a different place ever since. PLB is to thank for my glute DOMS. I used light weights but really focused on the exercises...I think I might eat the eggs and homefries from your feast!! But I have never been a fan of pancakes or anything like that...weird I know...:)...We have had rain for a couple of days but it should be nice tomorrow. I used the foam roller yesterday too. Enjoy your run and CS.

Judy..have a nice rest day and enjoy the Pasta dinner with your family. I will be doing a wet run today!

Christine...sounds like your DD had such a good time. I bet you are glad to have her home. I have been trying out Krystal nails on a few of my clients including me. So far once I get the technique down I think they will be great. WOW...that looks like a killer workout!

Susan...I did BM2 using the EXT a few weeks ago. I really liked it. I think the piriformis pain is gone, I have some pain in my right hamstring and my bacl that flares up time to time, but the kickboxing did not seem to aggravate anything yesterday. I am happy you are getting BBC soon!

Jackie...I did not do the tough premix, just the Combo's, then the B&G standing legwork and a 20 min iTread then PUB abs. Good job on your 9 mile trail run. Did your DBF run it with you? I don't like Blues much myself, but if the music would have been Country I would have bolted right out of there!!!

Shelly...Way to go!!!! 10 seconds is nothing to be disappointed about, there is a lot to say about being consistent and you were...:)

I will be doing 6-8 mile on a relatively flat trail along the Sac river. My DH might bike with me but he makes decisions at the last minute!!

Have a great day...:)

Judy :: great job doing PP with a hangover!

Carole :: yeowch - that sounds awful! There's another reason for my switching labs - the folks at this one are not in the least bit friendly nor are they professional. I walked in at 8:11 for an 8:20 appt. A guy was in front of me signing in, but no one else was in the office. I noticed his appt. was listed at 8:30. He was called in 5 minutes before me. After he left, I still sat there waiting while the 4-5 employees present enjoyed a loud conversation about their diets, how many hours they worked this week, etc. There were a few other things...and if they were busy, I might've understood...but this is about the 3rd time I've been to this particular office, and each time it just seems to get worse.

Well, ladies, today I took my P90 pics (I forgot to take them at day 30 and realized today marks day 62)...I am not pleased with what I see. I *know* that I've lost inches since I started the program and I feel like I've been able to see visible changes in the mirror, but I'm not seeing them in the photos. Kinda disappointing. AND I've been taking them myself using the self-timer, which is an interesting challenge, and must say that my expressions look maniacal. I think I'm going to have to crop out my head. *lol* Anyway, it's making me think I must not be bringing it like I think I am since I don't see the kind of marked changes by day 60 like I've seen in the photos of Wendy & others. Hmmm...gonna think on that one to see if I can make this last phase more effective.

Good morning sunshine ladies!!

I'm baaaaaaack:) . Our vacation was wonderful. The only caveat was we didn't get to stop in grand caymans due to the weather so we stayed 2 days in cozumel. I wasn't mad because we had such a great time.

Once i download the pics i will post a few;) I did manage a few workouts on the cruise. I did a couple icycles, an itread and isculpt. loved, loved, loved all the workouts. i am now officially addicted to itrains! I did however gain 2lbs with all of my bad eating, lol. However it's all good as we really enjoyed ourselves.

so now i need to decide what workouts i am doing this week and then what for next month. i wanted to do p90x but now i am not so sure. we'll see.

Shelly- good job on your race girl!

Hello to all my cheetah pals!!!

Good morning cheetahs! It's beautiful outside but I think I'll keep it indoors today since I worked my legs pretty hard yesterday. After I was home for a while I was in the mood for another workout and was doing some step, after about 50 minutes I was getting careless and fell backwards hard on my tailbone x( Needless to say I'm a bit sore there today!

Anyway, about the "Run for the Cheetah" 5k I came in at 24:05, ten seconds slower than my PRx( and ended up pacing at 7:45 for the race. I did place second in my AG. The course was not what I was expecting and was a little frustrating. It took place in a large park next to the Phoenix Zoo. I was anticipating a beautiful run on park trails.... NOT! We were diverted immediately after starting to the canal that borders the park and basically ran up and down a section of the canal. There were a lot of runners so this was a crowded and uncomfortable race with 3 hairpin turnaroundsx( There were a few sections where I had to crisscross the slower runners/walkers. It definitely cost me a good 30 seconds of time x(
Ah well, I ran a good time anyway so I'm not obsessivly grouching over it.... onward!

I downloaded the pics and I'm not happy with how they came out. DH had a hard time maneuvering for a pic. This is me at the finish line. I usually smile but I was dissapointed having just seen the clock.

DH bought me my new red racing cap so he can spot me easily!

I'll be back for personals

ShellyC

Hello again! Time for personals:)

Cathy- So you ran yesterday and today?:7 :7 It must feel so good!!
What a horror story about your blood draw!! You are a healthy young woman and I can't imagine your veins being difficult to access!
I wouldn't step foot in that lab again!!!

Wendy- woooboy what a night out for you}( Sounded exhausting for totally fun!! Did you get in the BBC total body and a run? Looking forward to the official "after" pics!

Christine- I PM'd you about the "famous purring cheetahs". It sounds like DD14 had a wonderful time in NYC!! I'm sure you're glad to have her home though.

Susan- Well, your confidence in my speed is nice but not only was I definitely not the fastest one there I wasn't even the fastest in my AG! It seems like I'm a perennial second placer :) You did get in a high impact week.... and no back problems:7 :7 woohoo... another recovered strong cheetah!! You will love the BBC workouts...
I'm thinking I'll be doing another week of these.

Jackie- Great job on your 9 miler yesterday! On a trail too:eek: WTG!
Sorry your night out at the club didn't live up to expectations :(

Heather- Wow, your street outreach program sounds like such a courageous and noble undertaking! I do hope you don't take any undue risks in the future though as noble as this goal is. That was so nice of the ob/gyn doc to make those comments to you and your friend!!

Judy- So I guess the weather there has improved dramatically for you to be out golfing! You sure are into a variety of sports!
Friday is just around the corner :7 :7

Carole- Thanks for your encouraging words. You always make me feel better and I so value your input!!! Have a great long run today, hope the hip is holding out!!

SunnyD- Welcome back!!!! Sounds like you had a great cruise and I can't wait to see the pics! You definitely needed the break and I'm sure those 2 lil ol measly pounds will be history soon!

Well, today will be BBC Chest and Abs and then some good old fashioned Cathe cardio.... MIC!! Haven't done that jewel for a while!
I'll check back later

ShellyC

check out my new avatar! it's me and my boys:)

shelly-don't get down on yourself. you are an awesome lady and a true inspiration to us all!

can anyone tell me how to post the pics so you can see them???

Sunny! Beautiful pic!!! You are one foxy lady and your boys are just too cute!

I post pics directly from my picturetrail account using the manage URL tab and right clicking on the direct link, then copy and paste over here. If you don't have a picture trail account you should check it out... it's a fun and easy way to share pics.

Hey Cheetah-Babes.

Sorry I disappeared on y'all y'day. It was a busy day. I went out around noon w/a friend of mine and didn't get back home until after 6pm. We went out to lunch, went to Dunkin' Donuts, ran a few errands and then finally came back to my place. We ended up hanging out and inviting another friend over. We were playing cards until after midnight and up until after 1am. It was a fun day. I don't know how I survived though. I was running on no sleep! I never did any work outs. I want to do BBC's full body today. If I can't get to the cardio I'm not worried.

My 90 days pics are finally up. I had DH take them y'day but they were bad-not enough light and bad angle so he re-took them this morning. One of them is a little blurry but he was in a rush so I'll deal with it.

Cathy: I didn't read your original post about your bloodwork experience but I read Carole's response to it from this morning. Sounds like you must've had a bad experience. I did several years ago as well...my arm was black and blue from half way above to half way below my elbow. It was awful!!!!!x(
Don't get down about your progress pics girl. I felt the same way until I compared the pics to EACHOTHER instead of to what I see in the mirror!

Judy: No work out y'day. I was having too much fun to work out!:D I had some beers fri and last night. Both mornings I woke up feeling pretty good. Pain reliever and a glass of water before bed seems to work wonders for me. Ofcourse, I didn't drink an obscene amount either, which always helps!:p

Carole: So did DH decide to come along on your run?

SunnyD: Great avitar! You and your boys are beautiful! Glad you had an awesome vacation! Welcome back! We missed you!

Shelly: Sorry you missed getting a new PR. I know it's disappointing but don't let it get you down. It gives you something to strive for next time. You can do it! You are one AMAZING cheetah!:)

Good morning everyone!

Shelly - Great job on the 5K!!! Sorry you were disappointed in the time but it looks good to me. I can't believe someone was faster than you. Glad you're ok after your tumble. Great pic!

Heather - Glad you enjoyed your day yesterday. What a nice thing for the ob/gyn to say. Really encouraging! I think you should have someone with you too when you visit Anna again.

Cathe - Sorry to hear the bloodwork didn't go well for you. Glad to hear spring has arrived in your part of the country. Looks like it's making its way back here too. The grass may start growing again. Sorry you're disappointed with the P90 pics.

Judy - I chose the 16 week moderate program from RW. Haven't had any problems with my toes this time either. Enjoy your rest day and golf game. I've thought about taking up golf but just couldn't seem to fit it in.

Carole - DBF is not a runner but he did walk 5 miles while I ran. That was ok as long as he's moving. I don't like country either but I was there because DBF loves it. May not have been so bad if the music wasn't so loud. Have a good run.

Sunny - Welcome back! Glad you had a great trip! Can't wait to see pics. I'm sure those 2 lbs. will drop right off once you're back into your routine. Like your new avatar. What a beautiful family.

Wendy - Sounds like a fun day for you yesterday. It's nice to hang out with friends and just have fun sometimes.

Rest day for me. We went to see Shooter last night. I enjoyed the movie. Will be heading back home in a couple of hours.

Enjoy your Sunday ladies!

Jackie

Good morning ladies,
Just a super quick check-in for me today. I am taking my friend that has cancer to brunch today with a couple other girlfriends. She is having a lumpetecmy on friday and we just want to take her out to show her how much we appreciate her. I will not pig out. I will not pig out. Oh, who am I kidding}(

I just finished a 4 mile run today and it felt good again. I swore I was not going to, but I did. That makes 12 miles total this week.

This chiro has been great for me and my back. I am almost, I feel completely recovered.

I will do pilates tonight and then rest day tomorrow.

Shelly, you are too hard on yourself. You are such a fast and terrific cheetah!

Have a great day ladies.

Susan

Hey cheetahs :)

Just reporting in w/ my w/out…did CS followed by a 3-mile run. In a few minutes, I’ll do some yoga poses & work w/ the foam roller.

Sunny :: welcome back!! Can’t wait to hear more about the cruise & see the pics…When I have posted pics, I post them to my website, and then right-click on the photo, copy the URL address, and paste it into my post. The picturetrail method sounds maybe easier. Good job containing the damage – I know it is easy to gain a whole lot more than 2 lbs. on a cruise!…Love the new avatar…the boys are adorable, and you look gorgeous. :)

Shelly :: ouch! Sounds like a painful fall…I don’t think that’s a bad pic of you at all…you look buff!…In all of my X photos, I look like I’m in misery (OK, well, the first time maybe I *was* b/c I absolutely dreaded the *before* pics! *lol*) but evidently I have been genetically blessed w/ a downturned mouth, and it’s just my natural facial expression. Comes in very handy for scaring middle school children. j/k Anyway, I hope on day 90 I have something to smile about!…Doesn’t sound like the cheetah course was a fun one…Yeah, it did feel great to run after a few weeks’ hiatus!…No, they never have trouble finding my veins…I don’t know what went wrong…I’m not bruised much, but it did hurt.

Wendy :: sounds like another fun day/night :)…your transformation in the 90 days is amazing! You were buff to start with, but now you’re super buff…WTG!…Thanks for the encouragement re: the pics/progress…I did compare them side by side…and do see *some* difference, esp. in certain areas, but it’s minimal. I think my chest, shoulders, abs, and tris are more cut than they were. I guess I should keep in mind, too, that I started the X with about 20 lbs. to lose, so I’m not going to see the same results as those who don’t have much or any fat to burn…Also, my eating hasn’t been as strict as it *could* be. That is an unpleasant reality – if I really want to see this weight come off, I know what I have to do.

Jackie :: enjoy today’s rest day.

Susan :: sounds like a great plan to lift up your friend’s spirits! Justification to pig out, IMO…That’s so great that you are running more and feeling good. You’ve obviously struck gold with the new chiro. Glad to hear it. :)

OK, time to go stretch…Hi to Marcia, Christine, Jess, Gayle, Laura, and any other cheetah dropping in! Ciao!

Hello Cheetahs! I know, I've been MIA around here lately! I've been bringin' it w/ P90X though!!! I LOOOOVE it! (ok, you can all say I told you so now! :p ) Seriously, not only do I love the workouts, but I'm soooo happy that my dh is doing them w/ me. Actually, I've been doing some of them in the mornings & he's been gettin' it done in the evenings!!! I'm shocked, he asks me which workout to do & he's bringin' it!! Wow, he was sore those first few days, but he's still at it. I'm super proud of him. So.. week 1 is done & we start again w/ Chest & Back later tonight. I'm also happy to report that I did TWO, yes TWO full pullups (well, chinups w/ your hands facing in). I know I'll be bangin' out more of them soon!

On the homefront, Kiersten is STILL sick. She was running a temp again on Friday & her ears are still infected plus she now has a sinus infection. We are on yet another round of antibiotics. I'm so sick of this poor girl being sick. We are going to see the ENT on May 9th. They'd better do something for her, this is ridiculous. My Mom came to visit for Grandparents day on Friday & stayed over til last night. Hannah had a soccer game y'day (she did great!) so she wanted to see that. We went shopping too, and she bought me a new skirt, dress, and some capris for my bday (not til May 4th, but she always takes me shopping early).

Sorry I've been scarce. I try to read up on how my Cheetahs are doing. Great job on your race for the cheetah, SHELLY!! Great pic too, you did awesome!! Have a wonderful Sunday. The weather is absolutely gorgeous here, I'm so ready for spring!!

Cathy...I have not had my blood drawn for awhile. But I am well aware of the veins that work and this twit would not listen. I swear...customer service has gone so far downhill it just makes me cringe. Talking about diets and exercise instead of helping people....drives me nuts!!! I am sorry you are disappointed with the P90X results. I wonder if you would have taken pics on day 1 if you would see more? I am laughing about the faces...I have taken all of my pics myself. I have a remote that works with my digital. I still make some funny faces though..I feel you might get better results in the last phase. Good workout today! Have fun with the yoga and stretching.

Sunny...welcome back. For some reason I cannot see your pic. To post them you need a host like Picturetrail.com, which is free, then when you upload your pics there all you have to do to show them here is bring up the pic, use your right click and choose copy image location, then post the link in the message and the pic will show up.

Shelly...geeze....be careful. I have fallen a few times myself doing step. Luckily I always land on the carpet! I can see how you might have lost some time due to the course. I hate that! I know when I have done Trinidad before there were walkers that started a bit before the runners...they should start AFTER! Some are polite but the majority will not move so you can pass...very frustrating...I like your pic!!! I normally hate most of mine. You do have a very determined look on your face though. Like a true cheetah runner!! My run went good today...just a bit of pain in my right hammy. Have fun with BBC amd MIC (that cardio is a killer!)

Wendy..Yes my DH did go today. He did well and was being very sweet...:). Sounds like a nice evening with a friend.

Jackie...that is nice of you to stay with your DBF as he does enjoy the music. I think I have been married to long...:)...enjoy your rest day.

Susan...enjoy the brunch with your friend today. I bet she will love it and having friends to support her. I am so glad the chiro is working for you...:)

The run today was nice. A bit cold but fairly clear and No rain! I went 7.6 miles. My hamstring was a bit sore but everything else felt fine. Like I told Wendy, DH went along on his bike. I really appreciated that, he is now sleeping....and yep, snoring!!!

Hey Cheetah-Babes!

Just finished BBC Full Body. No cardio today.

Tomorrow I have my running class in the evening. Not sure how I will do BBC this week but I want to change it up so I'll work on that tonight and/or tmrw morning. }(

Not much else going on around here....quiet Sunday. DH bowled in a tournament this afternoon so it was just DS and I. We played in the yard with the dog for about an hour. GORGEOUS weather!!!! When DS went down for a nap I cleaned up a bit and then hit the sheets for a nap myself!:p I must have really been sleeping hard cause I woke up at one point and thought it was morning and couldn't remember what day it was!!! It took me a minute to get my bearings! :7

Quiet on the boards today...

TTYL!:)

Cheetahs Check-in

This was a delightful Sunday. After my Breaking Free Bible study this morning, I went to church for my other Bible study. The video session I watched at home on the woman at the well and the DVD I watched at church reminded me of Anna. I need to pray for her.

I enjoyed my beloved IMAX3 this morning! I love, love, love this workout. The choreography is just as much fun as my beloved Rhythmic Step with no breakdown. I modified the super high impact blasts like tuck jumps and plie jacks and had fun with those on my rebounder. I do not need to modify this workout as much as I did last year. I am making progress! I started wearing a new pair of Reebok cross training shoes this morning. I am hoping that these last longer than the first pair I bought.

I took a long nap this afternoon, did laundry, started Clean Max in preparation for Mom’s upcoming visit, and went to the grocery store. My wild neighbors kept me awake until 2:00 a.m. again. I am hoping for a more peaceful night so I can sleep without any distractions.

I did the first segment of Core Max tonight. Gym Style Legs is in my DVD player for tomorrow morning. I called the club, and the pool should be ready for action tomorrow. I am hoping to jog in the pool after work.

Sunny, welcome back! I cannot see your avatar for some reason.

Blessings,
Heather B.
