Cathlete
Good morning & happy Friday, everyone!

Gloria—ha re: your comment being independently wealthy and not having to work. Isn't that the truth? Hope you have a productive day at the conference—enjoy! It sounds like it’ll be chilly. We’ve had temps in the 70s here all week. PS…DITTO! *lol*

Wendy—so what’s happenin’ in PA this weekend? I would never give up Target, sweetie—you know that!...When I researched marathons, my main objective was to do a big one where the pump-up factor would be high. I narrowed down to Chicago and WDW after hearing they were great first-time marathons (flat and lots of crowd support!) and ruled out Disney for three reasons: 1) I’d heard that there were some “slow” areas of the course unlike Chicago; 2) I liked the timing of Chicago better. This way, if my NB results in November are not favorable, I’ll still have achieved something big this year, and 3) I figured doing the bulk of my training in winter months when it gets dark early would be more challenging for me.

I may work a little late today but will work out after school—probably another easy run.

Enjoy your Friday!

Good Morning.

I have some good ol' DOMS from DM. Aaaaahhhhh. I just got rid of the race pains and have managed to put more in it's place already. LOL It's okay though cause I LIKE this kind of DOMS. The pain from the race hurt TOO much to find pleasure in. :p

So I was the last to post last night which means I'm all caught up on personals except for one...

Cathy: We are going to the Poconos so that DH can "cash in" on last year's Christmas present finally. I bought him an opportunity to drive a stock car at the Pocono raceway and it happens tmrw. We will make a weekend out of it also hitting the new casino that opened up close by as well as doing a nice dinner and perhaps something else as well.
I understand about crowd support being a factor especially if you are not allowed to use an ipod. You need SOMETHING to keep your mind busy IMO. The marathon I am considering in MD is said to have great crowd support for the first half but it apparently dwindles in the later miles which disappoints me because it also says no earphones allowed. I have worn them anyway and been fine but when you started talking about getting caught and having to take a DNF because of the ipod it sorta scared me straight. LOL It's also said to have some hills in the 2nd half which flat out SCARES me! That being said, MD is not out of it but now I am now putting the Long Island Marathon into consideration as well. Must go read up on it soon. :)

BBIAB!

Good morning ladies!

"Rest" day for me today workout-wise:( but a very long riding list so, well, there it is. Bowling sucked last night but I won't bore you with that one. For the first time since we've been together I actually wanted to use the silly putty hammer on DSO last night...nothing major but enough to irk me. So, on to personals...

Cathy - I hope you're able to get that easy run in after work today. Yeah, sure is nice to have the taxes done, especially since I thought I was going to get royally screwed and, in the end, it turns out that I will be getting my money back...no stimulus though, don't qualify:(.

Karen - Had to LOL about DH not finding the beans and then only bringing home one can...gotta expect stuff like that, right:p? Um, yeah, all is forgiven for a pumpkin latte...haven't had one yet this season and now you've got me craving one.

LaDonna - Crossing my fingers for ya that the next doc can find a way to clear that PF up.

Gloria - Sorry about the conference today interfering with your workout...hate when that happens:mad:. LOL about being independently wealthy...now THAT would solve a LOT of problems, eh?

Wendy - Oh yeah, that would be the perfect costume for ya and I'm sure you're going to look *hot* in those jeans and boots;). Funny about you not going for the step as much these days as I've kind of done that a bit these past few months...that is, *when* I actually get to workout . I like DM more for the premixes that I can use as add ons or mish moshes...I don't know why I can't get into it as produced *shrugs*.

Gonna go grab refill the java and chill a bit here. I'm awfully tired this morning (more so than usual) and I'm just sitting here trying to wake up. BBIAM.

Wendy - Posting at the same time this morning. What a fantastic gift for DH! I hope you two have a wonderful time this weekend!!!! Heehee, enjoy the DOMS;).

Good Morning Lovely Cheetahs!

TGIF to all!! I’m sooo happy it’s Friday! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Karen – mentioning Wendi’s chili made me want to make chili too! I made my own recipe and I’m excited to have leftovers! I love that stuff! I’m glad to hear you calf is doing better! There is no way I’ll do a marathon. I may consider a half again, but for next year, my longest race is 10.6 miles. I have several century bike rides (100 milers) I want to do, so my training time is limited.

Thomasina – Yes, I’m ready for the weekend, too! I enjoyed meeting Beryl, too! She’s a sweetie! Yes, I did find a HRM! It’s coming today (now that DH is back – didn’t quite work the way I wanted – oh well :D). It’s a pink Polar F11. I like the features of that one. You will have to dust off your bike and ride with me. There are so many great rides! You don’t have to do a century – many of the rides offer multiple options. If you want to ride, I’ll stay with you! It’s much more fun with a friend!

Jackie – I heard about the debates. I’m glad I didn’t watch. I’d have wanted to smack both of their heads together. Great job on running 5 miles with DOMS!! Good for you!

Wendi – Oh, I hope you get your energy back! That’s not fun when you have such a tough agenda. Do you at least get to stay home this weekend? I’ll warn you, if you read “The Other Boleyn Girl”, you’ll want to read the rest of her books about King Henry. She has 4 I think, maybe 5. Good books. Yes, the enthusiasm at a race is very contagious. I also enjoy running. So I’m hoping to mix my training this winter to be ready for runs and rides.

Cathy – Oh good! I’m glad you’re feeling good and ready to focus on other things. I don’t know why I worried about you. You’re one of the most focused people I know! And cute as button! Oh enjoy your 90 minute massage on Sunday!! I’m thinking I’m going to be better about getting massages as I increase mileage again and start training for the centuries this spring.

Gloria – Enjoy Sault Ste Marie today! Yikes is right! That’s cold! Ouch! I don’t mind experimenting with recipes – some work, some don’t. What I need to do is put together a binder with the “Keeper” recipes. I tend to like to play around, and forget about some that we really liked.

Wendy – great job on doing Drill Max! Enjoy your trip to PA! Where in PA are you going? No, Mike does not know he has a bike named after him. I’ve lost track of him. I only know he started his own company and is doing well. Good for him. :p

Well, fortunately I found out that we will NOT be going to Napa on Sunday. Our friend is having a birthday party, but it starts at 5PM on Sunday, and that is just too late. We’d get back here at midnight. So it will be a weekend at home. Yippee!!! Today will be some yoga. I plan a tough weekend of workouts, so I’m going to take it easier today. I’m feeling my kettlebell workout from yesterday. My lats and hamstrings are sore. I’m loving it. I’m feeling nothing from my run – nothing in my heels, which had been hurting from runs, or my achilles or anything, so I’m happy. I’ll gradually build mileage. I just signed DH and I up for the Big Sur 10.6 miler. I’m happy to be running that one again – it’s gorgeous.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...there were a few interesting outfits last sunday! I would consider Chicago next year ( and I mean running it!), and maybe even drag my sister along like I plan to for Napa...I saw Mom yesterday. She seems to be progressing well and looks like she will be in my sister's house the end of next week. Enjoy your easy run later...

Wendy...yesterday's run was quite interesting with that DOMS! Sounds like a fun weekend planned...:)

Wendi...I still have some DOMS! Running yesterday was interesting! Thanks re: my hair..:)..So it might be putty hammer time?? That can be not fun at all...Hope the coffee wakes you up...

Christine...thank you for your advice for running with Beau. It has been so long since I ran with a dog I kinda forgot! Looks like the timing will be good though as he won't be 8-9 months until after winter...:)..I think Posh said Napa had a 5K. Glad the marathon inspired you to run a little now. After talking to you in Chicago about riding, it sure made me think more about riding too! Just tough to squeeze that in marathon training. We just can't do everything. I am so looking forward to this weekend at home. Enjoy yoga today. Cool you got yourself and DH signed up for Big Sur.

Linda...my thoughts and prayers for your pregnant DD. Keep us posted. Hope Patty's hamstring issues subside before the marathon.

Ladonna...sorry about the PF. It is tough to get rid of. Have you seen anyone about it? Like a Physical Therapist? My nephew ( a chiropractor) told me that rolling the bottom of your foot hard over a golf ball is good treatment for PF.

Shelly..sounded like a nice run yesterday.

Dallas...hate those mammo's! Hope things went well.

Gloria...thanks re: my hairdo.

Karen...So happy to hear your calf is better. Thank you so much for the nice compliment...:)

Posh...thanks for the udpate on Beryl, she was a cutie...:)..I can for sure get the schedule to you this weekend. I want you to be "pumped up" ala Arnold...:D...You know, I will have to check out the Napa site, one could always use another duffel bag!! A bake sale might just help for Chicago next year!!! Thanks to for your thoughts on running with a dog. I will most likley keep Beau on pavement as we never know what lingers on those trails..

Jackie..They make my Mom use the walker a lot in therapy. Not sure how much more each day. I think the plan is she will get out of rehab the end of next week and be in my sisters house. I think I still have some DOMS form B&G!

Today I will do some upper body endurance before my 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

HI Cheetahs!

I just got everyone out the door and am now having a bit of breakfast, before getting to some chores and a workout.

Linda- How is your daughter today? I have her in my prayers. :)

LaDonna- I have had some pretty severe flare ups with PF. In fact July - September the symptoms were maximized for me . I have never considered cortisone and after the initial visit to a podiatrist, in 1999, I have self treated with success. 3 BIG helpful things you can do: 1. roll your foot out on a can, a chilled one works well. ( I use a v8 can) 2. massage the area especially before getting out of bed each morning 3. stay away from high impact activity until all symptoms subside. (I found I could return to running sooner if I did not do any step~ the lateral movements really made for unstable conditions) 1 & 2 should be done several times per day as well as stretching your calves and hamstrings and lower back. I am now trying to build my mileage back up after the rest in Aug/Sept.

Shelly- Thanks I PMd ya back.

Dallas- The mamo is never fun. And the place I go to has paper thin walls. I always feel like everyone can hear my private issues

Karen- Good luck with Mom and her Kidney stone treatment! There is a crock pot thread in the OD forum and it has the oatmeal crock pot recipe. I found I have to cook for a smaller amount of time and add more water to it. Here is a link to a funny and useful crock pot blog if you are interested. It is also from that thread.

http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/

Posh- Well DH and I finally had a date last night. We had a bottle of Mere Soleil Chardonnay with dinner at a favorite casual restaurant. Have your tried it? DH and DS left this morning so last night was our Friday.

Jackie- Well IA do not loose that vacation time. I had similar thoughts that training for a half would make me more committed that just running to run.

Wendi- I am making two trays of traditional Lasagna with out meat, and one tray of my spinach Alfredo Lasagna. The team is bringing the rest.

Cathy- You are good at stress management! Chicago is not a romantic trip by any means. It is for the Nike/ Bauer Invitational Hockey Tournament. It will pretty much take over Chicago for 3 days. This is our third year taking DS15 to this tournament. The highlight last year was eating fantastic Pizza in downtown Naperville! This year we are staying in Itasca.

Wendy- Thanks for the link. I will check it out! Is it hilly? Buffalo is only a 60 minute drive and I am fairly well acquainted with the area.

Christine- I must have missedthe Mike nick name too. I thought he was a person!

Carole- I have meen meaning to ask you, have you continued to be vegetarian with your new nutrition tracking success? You looked great in your picture BTW!

Today's workout will be an AOS KB. I am not sure which one yet. Yesterday I did Eionn Finn's yoga for Happiness after my iTread run. The live yoga class is sooooo much better!

PS_ I just looked at the Buffalo marathon/half. OM goodness it looks very tempting .... for a first half. ANYONE want to join me??????

Morning cheetahs! I just can't get enough of the beautiful fall colors here! I know it's hohum for the east coast cheetahs and may become that way for me soon enough but for now I am so enjoying it! Yesterday at times I was running through golden showers of leaves:)

It'll be an indoor TM run today for 5 miles. I'll likely use an itread but won't take the incline up much. Did quite a few hills yesterday! I was pretty busy yesterday catching up with stuff and never did manage to get in GS so today will be GS BSB after the run, then a nice nap in prep for going back to work tonight.

Christine- How nice that you are getting back into running again. Are there any duathlons held in your area? You'd be awesome! Still planning on that 70 mile bike ride?? Yay for getting to spend the weekend home! You've been doing enough travelling I'd say!

Carole- So you may end up doing 2 full marathons next year?? Napa and Chi? I'm sure you won't decide on this until after Napa and seeing how you feel but that sure would be awesome! I have to admit I am quite interested with all the descriptions of Chicago. Never have been there either. Glad to hear that your Mom is looking at getting out of rehab fairly soon!

Wendy- Great job with DM yesterday! Sounds like you have a nice trip to the Poconos lined up. What a great gift for your DH!! He must be thrilled at the prospect. Gonna get a little hill running in while you are there? Re: the Frederick Marathon. The graph is a little deceptive. The elevation changes are only a couple of hundred feet at best so it's not really that much of a challenge. HOWEVER, if you are used to only flat running it probably would feel pretty difficult. You should feel confident on your first one. I have been to Long Island quite a few times and that one should be fairly flat. Don't know about the crowd support tho. That is an issue with alot of marathons... it gets "lonely" after 10 miles or so. It was even that way in Vegas. Lots of time to mull it all over and decide tho.

Gloria- Hope your conference goes well for you today. I think I'll be seeking your advice soon enough about running in snow!!!

Cathy- TGIF!!!!! I'm impressed that you are considering a run again after work! A 90 minute massage tomorrow??? Well deserved!!!!!

Wendi- Glad you got a short day at work yesterday but it sounds like another long day of riding ahead! Take care and I hope you'll be getting some good rest this weekend and get recharged. I think it's cute you have a chatterbox kitty at work. I'd be talking back to him too!

Jackie- Yikes... whole body DOMS? Impressive that you managed a 5 mile TM run with it! How are you feelin today?

Posh- I am determined to get OUTSIDE for a run this winter at least once/wk and not wimp out and stay with the TM. I'll probably need to shop for some proper running gear. Any runs planned this weekend or are you still recovering?

Karen- For a while there I was using the Whole Wheat fig newtons as a mid run fueling snack. They are yummy! Glad to hear your calf is pretty much recovered!!!

That catches me up for now cheetahs! Time to get movin

Thanks, everyone, for the prayers and well-wishes for my DD. They released her last night! They found out, for one thing, that her gallbladder is bad! She is now, as I type, at the surgeon’s office. I would say they will wait til after the baby is born to do surgery?? Guess I will find out more in an hour, or so. They also told her she can no longer stand all day long at her job. She does Molecular testing and one of the departments she does, has her stand with no sitting at all. She is, of course, not allowed to have any drink or food in there….at all. So….she was extremely dehydrated from all the throwing up and a lot of the time, she can’t even take a lunch. They told her she has got to eat 6 small meals (instead of 3 larger ones) and she has to stay very hydrated, because the dehydration aggravates her orthostatic hypotension. (but she also has hypertension). Her cardiac workup came back fine, as well as all the ultrasounds, etc on the baby. Thank God! She is still very lightheaded and dizzy, though.

Last night after I got home, I ran 5 miles, and did CTX B&C.This morning I did CTX biceps.

I will try to get caught up with personals later. But I wanted to thank all of you guys for your prayers and concern!

Hey to everyone!!! And HAPPY FrIDAY!

Linda

Morning Cheetahs...TGIF!!!

I ended up doing APX - leg premix. The one that starts w/the multijoint and then goes into the leg exercises. I liked it. I skipped the core work because I wanted to get the treadmill in as well. I ended up getting in 3.25 miles. That was y-day. Today, was 5.25 miles on the treadmill. I still have abs and more stretching to do.

Now to catch up on personals.

~BRB :)

Hey Peeps.

So I think today will be an unplanned rest day. I wasted tons of time after dropping Joey off at school this morning cause I wasn't in the mood to work out. I finally got my butt in gear and got out for my run a few minutes ago. I ran .40 miles, stopped, turned around and walked home. I don't know. Just wasn't feelin' it and didn't feel the need to force it. I thought I'd come home and pop in a dvd but the thought is just totally unappealing to me. I think it's because I haven't packed a thing. I haven't even picked out what I want to bring. If I work out then I'll really be putting more pressure on myself time wise and it's not worth it. I have to drop the dog at the kennel a little after 1:30 and then pick up Joey from school at 2. From there we head up to my MIL's. Gotta have the 3 of us packed, get myself showered and have the house in reasonable order to be left unattended for the weekend before I leave. I have just over 2 hours to accomplish everything! Better get a move on!

Have a great weekend ladies!

I’m back. However, it took longer due to the phone and door interruptions. It’s no wonder it takes so long to get mundane household chores done during the day. I did get an audio book from the library and it’s made cleaning more fun though. The cool thing is that they’re preloaded audio books. All you have to do is plug in your headphones. I have a portable speaker for my iPod. I’m listening to Water for Elephants. Did someone here read the book? What do you think? The mammo wasn’t as bad, and everything is fine!:)

Linda ~ Continued prayers for your DD. Will she be put on bed rest? Keep us posted about her gall bladder. Good job getting in a workout after a long day at the hospital!

Shelly ~ Don’t you love Fall! We came home from the tourney, and it was like overnight all our trees changed colors. We have two big trees in the front that our bright red. Have fun with your workout. You have to come to Chicago too!!!! Like Cathy said, “Clear your schedule woman!!”;) IA, ITR is so fun. You’re amazing and do some amazing workouts for 51!! I hope to have half of your energy when I hit the big 5-0.!!

Judy ~ I feel that way at the OB/GYNE office as far as the paper thin walls. It wasn’t too bad of an experience y-day. I was having a hard time holding my breath. I felt like I was going to burst. Ha ha Go for it re: the Buffalo half! Wished I lived closer to you and the rest of the Cheetahs.

Carole ~ You have me curious about the running outfits you saw at the marathon. Glad your mom is doing well. I have to check the sports schedule for March. When does the registration start for Napa? I guess I’m worried about the long trainings for two marathons in one year with the kid’s schedules too. Let me talk to DH. At least with Chicago, I won’t have to be away from home as long as flying to Cali.

Christine ~ I checked out the webpage for the Big Sur. Just beautiful. Glad your run gave you no trouble. YEAH…you got the running bug!:) I like weekends at home since they are so far and few between anymore. :( This weekend will be sort of an “at home” weekend. :)

Wendi ~ Maybe your SO was on your nerves because you’re so tired? I know I get cranky and the littlest things bug me when I’m tired. Hope the silly putty hammer is back in the workbench. ;) Glad your infection cleared up. I doubt you’re out of shape. I think you’re just working so hard, you don’t have any energy left for your workouts, not to mention your body was fighting an infection.

Wendy ~ lol’d about the DOMS back in play. I did it to myself again too. Grace got me earlier, and I think the stairs and Amy legs combo got me this morning. I think it would be so hard not to run without headphones. I meant to ask the Chicago Cheetahs, why no iPods?

Cathy ~ I’d like to do Disney too, but I had heard about the crowd support and that it gets long on the back lots (if that’s the right word) of Disney. However, I thought we could make a nice family vacation out of it. Now I have to get DH to fly. Lol Well, thanks for the hair compliment. :) I guess we’re our worst nit pickers, huh??! She put some pretty golden (real subtle) highlights in my hair and lightened a bit. Enjoy that 90 min massage and hair day. You’ll be so relaxed!

LaDonna ~ Enjoy your rest week!! I know it’s so hard NOT to workout Have you talked to Judy. I know she has some home remedies for PF. I like the frozen ice water bottle and rolling the foot over it, the towel scrunch, and then the golf ball when it’s really giving me trouble.

Karen ~ I’m so glad your calf is getting there! Gosh, you started early w/the mammo’s. Due to family history?

Posh ~ re: the friends that dropped out - they had decided two days before the race! Sometimes it gets tough squeezing in the workouts. That’s why I have to get my lazy butt out of bed by 4:30A and no later than 5A to get started. It seems everyone is busy on this thread, but everyone manages to get great workouts in here! :)WOW! That is some running resume last year!!! WTG and injury free. Yeah, that’s key, huh, staying injury free? What’s your secret!!??! ;) Beryl was sweet. It was great to meet her too. What’s the word you'll be teaching her this week. Lol :)

Jackie ~ I was going to post y-day that the DOMS was gone, but it’s back again. Did you give it back!?!? :p ;) Nice job on your iTread 5 miles y-day.

Gloria ~ I went because at my gyne appt a couple of weeks ago he felt something and I was having pain there too. He said it’s probably a cyst, however because of pre-cancer down yonder ;) he didn’t want to take any chances. All is good. If you have no family history, I think, the protocol is a baseline at 40. At least, that’s what I was told when I going through my ordeal a couple of years ago. When is your race? I'm trying to keep track of these racing Cheetahs! :)

I think that catches me up for now.

Have a great day!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Wendi - Did the short day do the trick? Sounds like you still had a hard day's work. Enjoy your rest day. Sorry bowling sucked for you.

LaDonna - Laughing at you having a drink. Think that's a good next move. :D Heard that Nashville Marathon is grueling with all the hills but lots of fun. Do you live close by? Hope that foot gets healthy.

Cathy - Yep, owe my pain to Mr. Glick. Have to be sure I never do that workout before a long run. My butt and legs are still sore. Hadn't been much talk lately about scaling back Saturday delivery, only scaling back employees. I'll get my offer for an early next month with no incentives and a 2% penalty. Of course, I'm not accepting because I'm just not ready to sit at home. And, I'm eligible for full retirement next year. You were tired if you fell asleep with phone in hand. :D A few more days and you'll be back to your energetic self I hope.

Gloria - Good luck with training for the marathon. The older I get, the more stretching I need. Have to skip some other things sometimes to get the yoga in. Being independently wealth would be sooooo nice. :D No rich uncles or aunts either. But, alas, we have to work for a living. :( Have fun at the conference.

Wendy - Glad you enjoyed DM. Have a fun weekend in PA. The costume sounds great! Get you a little whip and attach to your side. :D Yeah, I've blown Grace off a few times myself. Sometimes it just doesn't fit into my plans but I still like having her there telling me to move it. Yay for DOMS!!

Christine - You just can't seem to get to Napa, huh? At least, you're happy about it. Enjoy your yoga day. Glad everything is feeling fine from your run. Good you're going to do the Big Sur.

Carole - Bet running with Beau will be fun. Glad your mom may get to go to your sister's next week. Know she has to be ready. Feels like you got a good workout when you have lingering DOMS. :D Enjoy your UB workout and run.

Judy - Sounds like a nice date night for you and DH. Enjoy AOS today. Live classes are nice.

Shelly - Nice to run and commune with nature - very good feeling. Another Cheetah taking out some of Grace's hills. Have a good night at work. The DOMS is still here. Want to do the 5K in the morning. Hoping it will ease up more by 9:00 am.

Linda - Glad DD was released but ugh on the gall bladder. Think work would allow her to take more breaks to get in all the meals? Glad the baby is doing ok too. Will continue to keep her in prayer. Good job getting the workouts in.

Dallas - Good job with APX and your runs!

Today I did iTread #1 20 minutes and kept going until I reached 3 miles. Did GS Shoulders & Biceps and some stretching.

Gotta get back to work. Enjoy your day!

whoo hoo!

AMEN Sista! FRIDAY!

Well, let’s see if I can “PR” on my time it takes to post personals since today is day shift for me selves has gots to busta move this morning….

Looking forward to tomorrow as I will somehow juggle a run between the dogs getting to the groomer, dropping DD’s car for service, shopping for groceries and household necessities, a nail appointment, getting DS to the homecoming dance….hmmm…and that’s the short list…lol

Cathy – Hope you got that discipline issue handled…you know how I would handle it…lol…hee hee …enjoy your massage/hair appt/ and easy run! Leemmee know how the airline ticket search is going…lol…can you tell I’ll be a nag about this?

Wendy – OOOOHHH…your weekend sounds fabulous! Have a great little getaway time. I hope you find a marathon that works for you on a first…my first was Honolulu…I did the Team n Training route. Ya know, training with a charity group may not be a bad idea as then you have peeps and a training schedule to do together along with usually some good running coaches. Just a thought…

Wendi- RUT ROE…the silly putty hammer…whoa Nellie…musta been a bad one… Sorry you have a long riding list today…look on the bright side, atleast you’re getting some sort of exercise, eh? Hope your weekend goes well…and DSO survives it…lol

Christine – Sweeeetuh! Nice job scoring the HRM and a PINK one too! Whooo. I bet them look good on stalkers..er I mean trackers…lol. Ah, yah, one of these days I’ll dust off my bike and come ride with ya but it would have to be in between my marathon training as there wouldn’t be much time to ride with all the running. Sometimes I’ve used a class of spinning for a cross train day, but that’s about it…

Carole – Yes, LOL I can hear ahhhnold’s style now…”I vant tooo paahump ju aauup”…lol…bring it on, sista! No problem, we can do a bake sale...I don’t think Happy Sunday minds where we book his gigs as long as there’s people…hee heee…Yah, I don’t take my dog on the trail either for the same reason – bigger animals that eat both of us! LOL Glad your mom is doing better..

Judy – I’ve heard of that Chardonnay but never had the opportunity to taste ..yet..lol. Glad you enjoyed your evening..Oh, your Chicago trip is for a tournament but hey, you still get to have that FABULOUS pizza! I’m envious….

Shelly – yah, you’ll need proper running gear for snow and ice, that’s for sure..lol. Yes, I am totally fine, can’t even feel if I ran a long run so I am like a bull ready to bust outta the pen for a run….I’m going to do my five mile route in Auburn tomorrow but take it easy on the hills just to be safe…

Linda – Sorry about your daughter..oh my goodness..I’ll continue to pray she comes through ok; glad to hear the the cardiac stuff and the baby are ok though…keep us posted.. ((((HUGS)))

Heya Dallas – Wow, that’s some miles on the dreadmill, girl… what keeps you motivated? I’m having so much trouble feeling like a treadmill run…fight it all the way. Yes, my secret to injury free is that I’m a slogger! LOL… Beryl’s word of the week? hmmm…let’s see…maybe it will be “daaaaayyyyymm Straaaaiiight?...in a drawl of course…lol

Jackie – glad you’ll be marking your calendar…love it if you can come to Chicago! Have fun at work today! …

Ok, I better scoot…hopefully I can get outta here on time and it will be the earliest I’ve been late! LOL

POSH :D

Sorry no time for fancy formatting or spell checking today..

Good Afternoon Girls. Hard time getting going today. Dh is home for a three day weekedn so I got up and made a big breakfast for all of us minus (ME) who ate her organic raisin bran while everyone else ate pancakes:mad:. Managed a 4 mile run today. Woke up this morning too with the signs of getting a cold. I'm sneezing and my nose is running. I'm taking the weekend off. I'm going to really rest the leg other than walking which I will be doing a lot of since dh, girls and I are going to Valley View Farms for pumpkins. Going to take the girls to the library later today once dh gets home from getting his flu shot and will then go get some airbourne.

Cathy- How did the cpr class go last night? I really need to up mind but never seem to find two days that I can take up time too get it done.

Wendy- have a great weekend. It sounds like so much fun.

Wendi- Did you get a pumpkin Latte yet? My stuffy nose and I are going to get one after the library.

Christine- how great that you and dh will do a race. My dh Joe gets so pumped when I run a race and then gets the bug to do one but then doesn't put in the work. He will though. I'm going to make him. I signed him up to do a 1 mile pumpkin run with the girls on Nov 1st while I do a 5k. Starting him out small.

Corole- I'm glad to read that you mom is doing better. Great job on the 4 miles.

Judy- Thanks for the link. I know you can do Buffalo

Shelly- That is why I bought the fig newtons way back when. I read somewhere that it was good running fuel. I'm sure they don't intead people to eat them the way I do. They should put warning labels on those things.

Linda- I'm so glad to here dd and the baby are ok. I think the surgery can wait with the baby and all. I hope so I should say. It must be so hard on here. Is this her first baby?

Dallas- Defiently a family history. Mom, aunt, grandmother all on my mom's side. They say most that don't have a family history get it but I just pray everyday I'm one of lucky ones. They wanted me to have genetic testing but I don't want to worry my whole life about it ( more than I do already, and believe me I do) if I do test positive. The surgeon I saw said if I tested positive they would want to remove both breasts. I'm not ready to do that ,history and all. I don't think some surgeons get how hard that would be to just remove two breast without having cancer. I jsut get my mammos, eat relativly well, exercise and pray. If ever I do get cancer than I wil take the test and decide.

Jackie- Great workout today. Your doing awesome.

Posh- Who's homecoming ds or dd. My neice is having hers this weekend. She showed me this short aqua blue dress she is wearing. I have no clue what is in my sisters head that she is letting her wear that but she is.

Hi Girls!

I ended up doing Amy's 10 Minute Solutions Boot Camp - Abs Assault 2X's. i then foam rolled again and stretched while watching Grey's. I'm almost caught up. That's the good part about treadmill running...catching up on Tivo'd shows. ;)

Karen ~ That's right, I do remember you telling us now. I ran into a lady with no family history. She's been undergoing chemo for quite some time. She's amazing...working right through it all. WOW! That's good you stay on top of things. I was so taken back two years ago when my dr.called about my pap smear. I never had ANY problems previously. TG! for that little pap. The nurse told me, "You know how lucky you are that he got the sample from the precise location?" I almost started crying all over again. Yes, I hope all the Cheetahs stay up to date on all female and physical exams. Early detection is the key!

Posh ~ Too funny on Beryl's word for the week. :D I try to run slower, but I look at my Garmin and I'm running 8:??-9:??. On my long runs I'd like to keep it at 10:00. I have to work on that. Do you stretch and foam roll a lot? Well, I'd prefer to run outside, but it's been more convenient to dreadmill run. lol See above about the Tivo'd shows. ;) Good luck getting your to do list done!! Hope DS has a good time at Homecoming. Is your DD going too?

Jackie ~ Great workout! What's your weekend plan?

Well, have to go find a gift for DH. Our anniversary is next week. I thought I'd check the Internet to see what the gift is for #13. Also, the closet ppl told me Linen's -N- Things is going out of business. Maybe they'll have a good sale?? I'll let you know if I make it there. Oh, Chris Brown "With You" is on...have to wait until this song is over. ;)

Afternoon, cheetahs! J

Wendy—So do you get to be a passenger in the stock car? Have fun!...We did see people with MP3s, and it wasn’t enforced, but I *have* heard of some races where it *is*. Nonetheless, I do agree with those who say you’ll miss out on the experience if you’re jammin’ to your own tunes, so I’ll definitely stay unplugged for the next one. But I wasn’t thinking about the iPod issue when I initially registered; I just felt (and still feel now) that the more support, the better. Part of the excitement, for me, was also traveling to a city that’s been on my travel wish list for a time. Have you considered Napa? I know you will be in LV around that time—maybe extend your trip? Methinks you ought to just clear your signature line while you ponder all the prospects. ;) J You do have tons of choices and time, as Shelly said. ETA: I think Posh's idea to run and train with a charity group is an excellent one, especially since you expressed concern about sticking with your commitment. Training with a group would be a great way to tame the "ADD!"

Wendi—oh my, you’re just one big ball of sunshine today, eh? ;) *ha ha* Teasin’ ya! Glad you are gettin’ some greenbacks back, though. That’s always good.

Christine—I guess it’s hard to tell online if someone is complaining or just sharing. J Thanks for the compliments! You know it’s a mutual admiration society!...IA, regular massage is a great reward for hard work, but I also feel it is very beneficial for the muscles...Ya know, I expected to be sore, and I’m not. ??? Odd. Just seem to be carrying some tension in the shoulders--but who doesn’t? Anyway, I will it enjoy it nonetheless. Yay for no heel or achilles pain! I *know* you’ll relish a quiet weekend at home.

Carole—did you happen to see Ms. Red Tights? Good Lord…*yayayayay* Doin’ a little happy dance that Chicago *is* on your radar! Would be so fun with have your sister with you…I’m so glad to hear your mom’s recovery is coming along. Has she given up puffing?

Judy—oh, if you are there for a tournament, I guess that means round-the-clock hockey and little time for other entertainment. At least there will be pizza! J What’s the name of the place you recommend in Naperville? (So I know for next time. J) When is Buffalo?

Shelly—never ho-hum for me. I love the foliage!...Thanks…I didn’t know what I’d do this week—I figured I’d see how I felt, and I am just surprised (and pleased) that I feel as good as I do. Of course, Tuesday’s run kind of felt like I was going in (even slower J) slow motion, but I enjoyed getting out there and just moving. Tonight will be another short n’ easy one, but this time on the TM...I am THRILLED that Chicago has piqued your interest! I can see you & Carole BQing!!!

Linda—so does this mean DD is going out early on leave? What awful timing for her gallbladder. She has really been through the ringer. Thank goodness the baby is fine.

Dallas—Nope, haven't read that one. Wish I had more time for reading!…That’s exactly what I’ve heard about Disney from someone I know who ran it…I’m sure it would still be a great experience and perfectly oriented to a young family, of course…yes, I think you are right—we are our worst critics. Happy anniversary shopping!

Jackie—that doesn’t sound like a deal at all. Are they nuts?! Don’t blame ya for passing on that one…sorry, I missed that you were doing a 5K tomorrow. Good luck! Will BF be there to take pics? He was a good photog. Hope it’s a DOMS-free race for ya.

Posh!—more runnin’ for you this weekend! I feel tired just reading about it. How DO you do it?? The discipline issue is more or less resolved. I think it was a full moon this week. J Don’t worry—you could never be a nag to me when it comes to travel!! Hey, that is awesome that we’re both feeling so good.

Karen—hope the Airborne nips that thing. I am still flirting w/ a persistent little bug myself, but so far, *knock wood*, it doesn’t seem to be developing into anything major. I hope it stays that way!...The CPR class was good. We had a fun group. You should try to find an accelerated class like this one. Not as much time involved.

Have a great night! Time to get my rear on the 'mill.

Carole – Glad I was able to help. I know what you mean about training. I have a century ride in May, and Big Sur in April. Now, for Big Sur, I only have to run 7 or 8 miles so that’s not too big of a deal, but I want to do a mix of riding and running. I think running and gaining that aerobic capacity, can only help with my riding. How did the UB Endurance go?

Judy – I got a couple of good recipes off that blog! Thanks! Which AOS did you pick? How are you liking the bells? I think live yoga classes are better in general.

Shelly – oh enjoy the fall colors for me, too! I love the color changes, but we don’t get them here either. There are actually a few duals – I may consider one. We’ll see. It’s more the thought of running after cycling that gets me – my legs always seem to lock up. :p

Linda – I’m glad to hear your daughter and her child are okay! But man, a bad gall bladder! I would hope they would wait. Will your DD be able to claim disability because she won’t be able to work? That’s horrid that she cannot even take a lunch! Interesting job, though.

Dallas – Yeah, I like APX. That one is fun. DH and I do Big Sur every year. It is absolutely beautiful. The most beautiful 10 miles I have ever run. I really love this run. When is soccer over? Will you get more at home weekends afterwards? We’re usually at home, but we have such an active social calendar that even when we’re home, I feel as if I’m run ragged. I am social, but DH is way more so. I like my quiet evenings at home. :p Happy Anniversary (early)! So you had a scare with cancer? Wow! TG for the pap smear!!

Wendy – please forgive my brain fart this morning! I KNEW you were going to the Poconos! Hope you have fun! That sounds like a good time.

Jackie – I want to go to Napa and stay, but I need a few weekends at home to get my head back together. Big Sur is a joy to run. I’m really looking forward to it.

Posh - You should come on down and run Big Sur with me! It’s gorgeous! Oh, a pink HRM is an absolute must for stalk… trackers… I know what you mean about running and cycling at the same time. I’m so confused that I’m not sure if I’m a runner with a cycling problem, or a cyclist with a running problem. Spin classes are de bomb!!

Karen – Oh you have a crock pot – there are some great looking crock pot breakfast ideas that are those sneakily healthy ones – they don’t taste healthy, but they are. You should look ‘em up so you don’t have to suffer! Hope you’re feeling better!! My DH doesn’t put in the work either, which is why I won’t let him run further than a half. He just gets out there and runs with little training. It’s like talking to a wall when I try to tell him to train, so I just don’t. Although I do reserve the right to laugh hysterically if he cannot walk the next day.

Cathy – Oh I never thought you were complaining. :D Yes, absolutely on the mutual admiration society! I’m trying to find a masseuse around here who is under $125 a session! I’m thinking once a month until I get training hard, then more frequently after that. :p

Hi all! I’m back. Slow day today. Oh well, it will get better! I’m very ready for the weekend. A few more hours, and then I’m free!!!!

Hi Again...

Well shopping didn't go as planned. Now I'm Internet shopping.

I just wanted to come back and say:

Wendy ~ Have fun on your getaway this weekend w/DH!! Sounds like fun. :) Also, IA with Posh and Cathy about training w/TNT. It was a wonderful experience. In fact, I contacted the coach and she's sending me the Spring training plan.

Judy ~ I missed that you were coming up this way for a tourney. Halloween weekend, huh? What about trick or treating? :p Where do they play? My kids used to play soccer up that way when we didn't have an indoor facility. They made a make-shift one in an ice arena. I think it was Seven Bridges? Does that ring a bell?

Cathy ~ I forgot to answer...my mil is doing well, in fact, they may stop by tonight. I'm glad she might get out of the house. She meets with the surgeon next week. We should know more then. This is such a wait and see kind of thing. However, at least she's responding to the chemo. Pizzeria Duo was a great choice. IA, I like Gino's and that Lou Malnati's pizza. Of course, there's that Oven Grinder place too, I was telling you about. YUM!! Yes, that cold front along w/the rain finally showed up. Enjoy your run on the treadmill. :) That's awesome that you and Posh are doing so well after the marathon. :)

Better get this shopping done. I have to p/u DD from a b-day party and get her to another party. Social butterfly.;)

Have a great night!

ETA: Christine posting at the same time...well, I do like APX, however, by the end those sit down/get ups really have a fire in the glutes!! Soccer never seems over! ha ha! We're still not sure if they'll do an indoor session. I'm hoping not. Does your dh run other races besides the Big Sur? That's great you run together.:) Yep, had a total hysterectomy at 36! I didn't want to, but the dr said it was aggressive. :( The good thing besides the it turning into cancer and spreading is no more PMS symptoms! :) What's your plan this weekend?
