Cheetahs: All I Want for Christmas is a New Garmin

Hello Cheetahs!

Wendy: I am a freak about ironing. Managed okay on Friday since we can be casual on pay day. I am not getting STS so I don't even have to worry about fitting that in. I think Carole is doing an STS rotation and marathon training. Great 5 miler. Hope Joey isn't getting sick!

Wendi: Hi!

Karen: I would not worry about the eating. (((HUGS))).

Carole: Didn't get the iron yet. I will over break though. Not ironing before school Friday threw off my morning routine. :D 6 days of running in one week? Awesome! Haven't done that since college.

Brighton: Thanks for the info. on the tempo run! You're too funny with the snow running and splat! :) I am not going to do long runs on the treadmill. I have run outside in the winter a couple years ago. I am just going to have to toughen up a bit. Glad your DH did not have to drive in the bad weather the other day!

Jackie: LOL! I wish the fuzz kept me warmer in the winter! :) Actually, I will be taking my mom to the airport on the 23rd. She will be going back to Maryland. I bought her a really pretty pair of earings for Christmas. I hope she likes them, she is on the picky side. That is a good sign about BIL. Pip did get a firm talking to. :) Nice run today!

Christine: I will pm the writing next week. :) We pulled in a pretty good haul for the animal shelter. Not as much as I expected, but better than nothing at all. The hummus was a hit. I just love birthdays! You are one busy lady! I am glad you will have some time off to spend with your family! Did you have a good circuit workout today?

Judy: We have been blasted with snow too. Thank you for the card!

Dallas: I am glad I am not the only one who has to iron clothes! ;) I wear clear nail polish too, could not function if the color was chipped! LOL! Actually, DH was teasing me last night for not being able to use on of my pieces of luggage because it had a scuff mark on it! I never check luggage because they get so beat up in the under compartment. You have been doing some good workouts. Don't worry, you will be able to run in no time. It seems I always have something that hurts.

Cathy: I am loving break so far! Funny you say that about the email. I was thinking on the way home from school yesterday that I would send it to you too! :) How did you like Imax 2? I have parts of it on the Terminator and I like it. Not easy or super hard to learn the moves IMO. Cathe's hair is really cute in that one.

Laura: I don't have a Garmin, so I can't really help. It seems like a cool gadget, but I really have no interest in wearing more "stuff" when I am outside running. My BF is getting me an id bracelet with DH's and her emergency contact info. on it for Christmas. So sweet of her. :) Just a personal preference with all the gadgets I guess. I don't think anyone here really cares about who starts the thread. :)I think about the Cheetahs too when I am running and it is not easy. :) I think you did a great job on your run! :)

Shelly: Oh how nice to have 4 days off! :) I got your card today. Thank you! :) Enjoy your sweaty workouts!

Yesterday was a 5 mile run with no pain in the hip flexor. Once in a while that thing will bother me, wierd. Today was a 4 miler. Nothing too exciting happening around my parts. It is cold and wintery. The sun was shining today though. I have to say that at least we have seen a lot of the sun lately. There is another storm forcasted for tomorrow. What a winter we are having so far!

Hello Ladies.

Well, DS is sick. He is running a fever and coughing like crazy. :( We were supposed to go to a holiday party with him today but that wasn't happening so I sent DH to it alone since it was his friend who was throwing it.

Gloria: Sounds like you are a very neat and organized person. You wouldn't last a day in my house! :p I'm sure your mom will love the earrings you bought for her. How long will she stay in MD? Glad your run was pain-free! :)

Jackie: Hope you got your cleaning and wrapping done today!

Christine: Wow you have a long to-do list. Hope you are busy gettin' it all checked off. :) I was going to buy a 25# bell but after reading a thread in the O/D I decided to skip it and go with the 30. I can always buy a 25 at a later date if I feel I need the in between weight for anything. I have 2 15's and a 20 as well. I'd actually like to buy a 10 pounder specifically for one dvd I have where I can barely eek out several of the moves with the 15#!

Judy: How was DS' game? Did your other kids have fun skiing? I've been skiing once. I need to go again. I hope you enjoy your meal with friends this evening. Nope, these lunges were not with the bell overhead. I would never attempt that with a 30# bell. The 20 is hard enough! These lunges were done with the bell in the clean position. :)

Cathy: So c'mon girl. Spill. What did you think of IMAX2?? :D

Shelly: Alone for Christmas? Aaawwww girl, come on over to my SIL's house in Wayne! She'd love to have you! The more the merrier! You know how those crazy italians are! :D

Think that catches me up.

BBL or tmrw!:)

Good evening, Cheetahs...

Well, more bad news on my end... We just learned that our good friends lost one of their 4-mo old twin girls to SIDS. :( :( :( It is so heartbreaking. The funeral is on Monday, and I wish I knew what to say. So sad. :( I've been holding my little ones tighter.

On the positive side, I did get my run in today... I was workin' that TM with you, Judy! :) Holy heck, 8.2 miles on the treadmill is a l-o-n-g workout. I really need to get some of that Shelly dust & Carole coordination and get out in the snow. Thankfully there was a Will Ferrell movie marathon on TV. So silly, but it sure helped alleviate the boredom! :D

Well, I'm just physically & emotionally spent. I'll try to catch up with personals later... though Cathy-- I was ROFLOL about shipping Count Chocula overseas. Man, I ate so much of that "cereal" my freshman year of college... :D Ooh, and you guys have me jumpin' on the Garmin wagon with Laura... Maybe that will have to be my birthday present to myself this year. ;)

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday tomorrow... :)

My hospice nurse said we are at a turning point for my mom. She didn't get up out of bed today and is in and out of conscienceness (sp). We now have her in depends and we can't get her to lift her own body weight. All in one day. How does that happen. The on call hospice nurse come over last night when I called and was worried because all of a sudden my mom felt and seemed totally different then the morning. When she laid down I feel like she slipped away from me and I can't get her back. My gut is telling me a few days. I asked the nurse today what she thought about the drastic change in my mom and she said to me, " That she has hit athe turning point." My gut is saying she won't make it for Christmas. How can this happen. My poor dd birthday is the 26th. Yesterday she was agitated but awake and mobile and all of a sudden she wouldn't get up. Today she never got out of bed and never really spoke to us at all. She spoke about our childhood and would go out again. Everday I felt like I had more time and now that this has happened I know the end is near. I can feel it with all my being. Please pray she goes in her sleep and doesn't suffer anymore. This really isn't what she wants. I know. I want her here but I know it is all selfish to want her here. Thanks for all that told me to call hospice. I don't know who said it but I really should have called them earlier. They are really the best thing at this low point. If I had called them now and not when I did I don't know where I would have been last night other than an ER. I am so thankful they are at my every need and are so compasionate. I bless all those women and nurses alike ( meaning you too Shelly for giviing up your Christmas to help others) My eyes are blood red from crying but I'm holding my own now to right this. I know I can't withdrawl so when I see my name up here it calls me to keep talking. Love all of you.

{{{Karen}}} – My mom went quickly. She was having problems sleeping one night, so she was up watching QVC and ordering jewelry (talk about a shock when that arrived and we realized she ordered it the night before she died), then in the morning, my aunt, who is a nurse, came down and found her lapsed into a coma. Her blood pressure was low. I managed to fly out to her from California, and be with her at the moment of her death, but it was quick. And I have to admit that I was thankful it was that quick. I’d hate for her to hang on needlessly for weeks. But, it certainly was not easy on the family. I’m feeling for you, sweetie. What you’re going through reminds me so much of what I went through.

Brighton – Oh how hard for your friend! I hope to never know what it’s like to lose a child. I could not imagine a worse pain. Good job on your run!

Dallas – enjoy your workout! You’re busier than I am!

Shelly – I’m soo with you! Christmas CANNOT be 5 days away! How sweet of you to offer to spend Christmas alone so that your DH can spend it with his family. You’re a good egg. I had a fun, busy day. I like being busy! :p

Jackie – More prayers for your BIL’s quick recovery. I’m glad he is eating. That is a good sign! Good job on your run today! Sounds like a fun one.

Wendy – that is a cold day! Good job and making your mileage! Hope DS is not getting sick!! That would suck! Thanks for the AOS Providence recommendation.

Gloria – Oh wonderful! I’m glad you raised a good amount for the animal shelter! How wonderful! I had a wonderful circuit this morning, thank you! So happy you’re not feeling hip flexor pain now!! We have a major winter storm coming in, too but for us that means driving rains and high winds.

Well, I did AOS Providence (thanks for the idea Wendy!) and just had a great time with it! I’m feeling the burn – I did most of it with my 20 pound bell. My back feels great! So I’m thrilled. I think got my nails done, went to Macy’s which didn’t have what I wanted (but DID have lines 50 people deep!) and left, then went to Bed Bath and Beyond, got a gift for our friend, a blanket for my dad’s bed and little party favors for our Christmas Eve party. Made my hair appointment with 30 seconds to spare. Then spent a freaking fortune on groceries. Those are put away. I think the soup can wait until tomorrow. :p Wow! I’m on my duff now and enjoying a glass of Zin. :D

My goodness....so many hugs needed around the den tonight! :(

((((Brighton)))) Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine the grief of losing an infant like that. Your poor friend. That is so incredibly sad.

((((Karen)))) I hope your mom goes peacefully in her sleep so that she will no longer be suffering and so that you and your family can begin the healing process.

Christine: Sounds like your mom had a positive outlook even towards the end if she went ahead and ordered a piece of jewelery for herself. How nice. The arrival of that jewelery must have been bittersweet for you. Thanks for the wishes for DS but he's definately sick. He is running a good fever and coughing alot. Poor kid. I feel so bad for him. He's been so well behaved too. Makes me feel even worse. I just hope it's short-lived and that it doesn't get any worse.
