Cheery Cheetahs Tues 11/6

Cathlete
Good Morning all,

just getting us started!

today's workout will be a 3 mile tempo run (the knees are feeling better). I am thinking i need some new kicks...anyone tried rykas?

christine- i think me re-thinking the HM was just because of the pain i was in the last two days. now that it is gone i am feeling more positive. your idea was a great one. i spoke to my running buddy (we were both hurting) so we are going to take it easy this week.

cathy- i received your pm (haven't had time to read the article yet) however doesn't sound to me like you did anything wrong. stay positive and focus and remember good things happen to good people and you are a good person!

wendy- i hope you are feeling well enough to give slo mo a try!

my thoughts on the KB/yoga fusion workout- it's a beginner could be intermediate workout. (shelly not enough of a sweat factor for you...;o) the opening stretches are yoga moves as well as the ending stretches. it was a good workout for when you want something but not too much.

ttyl.....

Good morning, Sunny, and all the other cheetahlicious babes! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif

Sunny :: I'm glad your knees feel better...I haven't ever worn Rykas. Thanks to the wizards at Fleet Feet, I've worn Asics Nimbus for years, comfortably and without any recurrence of the AT. Of course, every foot and gait is different, so I think given your discomfort, your best bet really is to go to a running specialty store for some individualized attention...thanks for the support...No, I definitely did not do anything wrong but have been stressed nonetheless...That's exactly what I've been doing: pushing it out of my mind and just focusing on the kids. As I posted last night, I realized that I cannot let the criticism of strangers affect me. They don't know me, they have no background in pedagogy, no knowledge of reading instruction or research, and they clearly do not know modern teens all that well, either...Thanks for the review of the KB/yoga fusion...Now it would be great if Cathe did something like that!

I am off today (first time in many years we've had no school on Election Day) and can take my time somewhat with my workout, which'll be 4DS BC, bi's, tri's, C&B. Then it's off to vote, get a pedi, and do a bunch of other boring stuff that needs to get done before the trip.

Have a FAB day, ladies!!! Will BBL.

cheery cheetahs! i like that! i am bound and determined to make it a cheery day! i do know that no matter how bad things seem they always get better and they really are never as bad as they seem.

i never got to catch up on any posts yesterday although i did read and respoond to a bbc hater post. i might have been a bit harsh but she was saying how much she absolutely hated it. if you don't have anything nice to say...

anyway, i am going to figure out what w/o to do and when i get to work i will try to read everything from yesterday and catch up.

you guys are the bestest!!!

oh, i will also post my list. i am so bad at stuff like that. i never like to ask for gifts but i love to buy them!!!

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

FINALLY! A good nights sleep!:) I went to bed at 10 and woke at 7! I probably could have slept longer and truth beknown, I probably didn't catch up on the sleep I missed over the weekend. Back to work tomorrow though. Im just hoping that DS is going to stay awake till 7:30 tomorrow night so I will get to see him for a little while.

I will probably run again today. Its suppose to be nice and I won't get out the next 2 days cause I will be working. Before I had him I would workout in the mornings before work b/c I was just to tired after work, I haven't decided if i will do that tomorrow morning. That means I will have to get up around 5...which means I will need to go to bed around 9.

DH asked me last night if I had ordered the new Cathe workouts. He felt bad b/c he didn't think I ordered them and he thought that I should. He said, he tried to order them the other night but he wasn't sure which ones it was. So he told me to go ahead and get them. hehe Its so nice to have a good husband who understands addictions! LOL Anyway...I could read about it or I could ask you guys...should I get them? Whats the timeline? Kind of like CTX series? I didn't use those very often, not that they weren't good workouts. Its just that when i workout, Im in it for the duration. But now that I am back to work prehaps this series is what I could use first thing in the morning?

K...gonna catch up on yesterdays thread and Ill be back!

Oh, yesterdays workout was a 82 mins run.

Lori:)

Good morning cheetahpals! Ending a 3 nite stretch of 12 hr shifts soon:7 :7 After my nap I'll be doing a speed interval run, probably 4-5 miles total and a good leg workout later... probably GSL.

Sunny- Oh dear... you definitely have me pegged  ;-) I'm not happy if I'm not sweating! Hope you get in an awesome tempo run today.
I've never tried Rykas for running, only Asics and Saucony.

Cathy- Glad to here you have the day off:7 And I suspect you are even more glad then me ;-) The 4ds BC workout is great isn't it?
I find I don't really need to use markers with most of the drills and it flows better when I don't take the time to put them down.

Lorie- Your posts gladden my heart!! You have a wonderfully resilient personality :) I bet you'll be doin a real sweat drenchin workout today!

Wendy- Is your back better today? Hey, what do you think about the Marine Corps Marathon Oct 08--- running through the nations capital.
I've always wanted to do that one.

Carole- I love precepting (training) nurses! One of my favorite parts of my job:) :) The only hard part is just sitting back and letting someone else do the work.... that's actually quite hard for me!! Have your quads recovered?

Christine- I must confess to you.... I didn't do yoga yesterday:eek:
I opted instead for the 4DS abs and stretching...... sorry! Bad Shelly..... must try to do YOGA! My sleep patterns can get a little erratic working 12 hr nites but I've gotten used to it. If I've worked that night and am coming back I'll usually sleep 0830 to about
1430-1530.

Judy- how are you liking the Pilates?

Wendi- Any more horse shows coming up? Still planning on hitting the Bis and Tris today?

Time to get busy here and wrap things up. I'll try to check back in later.

ShellyC

Hi Lori! The 4DS is definitely worth the investment! It is patterned similar to the CTX series but with much more variety.
The premixes are awesome! You can combine these to get in long heavy duty workouts or use parts of them for a short but intense am workout. Go for it!!! (did you really think we'd recommend NOT getting them? ;-)

Glad you're well rested!

ShellyC

Whoops. Forgot the personals from last night.

Wendi :: great job getting in your w/out! Enjoy HIS/LIS today!…Thanks ~ I will definitely be kicking back on this cruise. But having moved past the initial upset, I really am OK. Stressed but OK. :) I am a pretty tough cookie (it’s that stoic German in me), and other than vocalizing it a bit here, I’m the type that just sort of grits my teeth and gets on with it. Business as usual, even if I’m worrying on the inside, ya know? That being said, a wedding celebration in the Caribbean will be a perfect place for stress release! I’m looking forward to a run or two on-deck. Shuffleboard, too.

Christine :: I can’t look at your daily menu…I feel like a big fat OINKER! *lol* http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/animals/th_piggie.gif I stayed within my points yesterday, but it wasn’t exactly clean. Thanks again for all the support!

Kristi :: thanks! I can just see you all squeezed into the voting booth. :) I’m with you – bummed about not making LV, but we will definitely have to work on a cheetah GTG and make it happen! Glad you enjoyed your time in Indy.

Lorie :: *lol* about the BBC Hater post. I missed that one. I hope there weren't any UFOs involved. :7 …Sounds like we share a similar outlook ~ that things could always be worse than what they are and that attitude – and gratitude -- is everything. At my old school, we used to have a daily saying read over the announcements: “Make it a great day or not—the choice is yours.” I loved that. It is so true.

Lori :: Yes! Order the new series!! Very time-efficient and FUN! The workouts are short but there are tons of premixes and options to make them longer.

ETA: Shelly :: Missed your post in there. Glad the stretch is ending for you. I can imagine it would be hard for you to sit still and let someone else do the work...Yes, I am glad to be off! It'll allow me to get a bunch of stuff done *and* treat myself, too. I look forward to the pedi. My feet are a fright. *lol* Absolutely--I just love, love, love the new BC. Maybe I will try it without the markers. Enjoy your w/out!!

Cathy** Sounds like you had a lovely day planned:) Except for the voting of course. Not that it takes alot out of ya..its just the fact of going! hehe

Lorie** Great attitude missy! Things will always get better, they have to! When was your trip to Vegas planned for? I didn't see that hater post but i will have to check it out!

Shelly** Do you feel better after a full nights sleep? Then again, you were actually up and working so you may need a little more sleep then me! hehe Your story was pretty funny. My sister is a nurse and always has some kind of story to share.

Sunny** Thanks for getting us started. Enjoy your day!

Wendi** Sounds like you have a good week of workouts planned!

Wendy** Glad to hear you got a workout in yesterday. How are you feeling today?

Judy** Hope you enjoy your new pliates class. I signed up for yoga a few yrs ago and rarely went. I was happy after i went, it was just getting my butt in gear to go. I have the mind frame that if Im not sweating, Im not really working out.

Christine** Prehaps i was the marathon winner? I gave birth 10 monthes ago! LOL who posted the pic of Katie? She sure is tiny!!

Kristi** Hope you got your workout in. I loved watching the Biggest loser when I was running. Kept me motivated!

Carole** All this talk about Slo Mo is making me wonder if I should requested it from my pollyanna as well??? What workout did you do after?

Jackie** Hope you enjoyed your rest day!

Linda** I am also having trouble thinking of what to ask for!!! I dunno.......

Alright with that being said I think I have some ideas:

* A cathe Baseball hat Probably the black one or orange.
* A cathe T shirt ( the $19.99 one, size small, doesn't really matter what color)
* Or a dvd thats really good you would think I would enjoy.
I mostly own Cathe workouts so if you get something other then cathe, chances are, I dont have it.

Have a good day everyone! Ill be back later!

Lori
:) :)

Alright, you convined me! I totally forgot about the premixes! And you right, I didn't think that you were gonna say don't get them. This is so weird for me cause Im usually first in line. I was waiting to order them from Cksales and then they closed down so thats why I didn't order them yet. I guess I will be making a new purchase today!!!

Lori:)

Good Morning Glories!:)

Cathy: I PM'd you. :) So they run races in costumes where??? At Disney or at the Rock n Roll marathon? I'm the dork who had no clue they did that at either!:p LOL My back seems to be better. Thanks!:) Sorry about the phone calls from your boss and colleage. I hope they weren't a downer for you. Enjoy your day off girl! You deserve it! And this cruise couldn't come at a better time for you as far as I'm concerned!:+

Lorie: OMG, I was so sad reading your post about the suicide note. :-( So glad it was found and the girl was taken to the hospital BEFORE she harmed herself!

Linda: The cold is trying it's hardest to beat feet. It's almost gone but I am still feeling a bit drained from it and am sleeping like garbage as it seems to be at it's worst then. So when's your next half? I'm hoping to run one in the spring!}(

Wendi: Sounds like you've got a good plan for your future. I hope it works out for you!:)

Christine: Yesterday's menu that you posted is making me HUNGRY!:9

Sunny: I only have rykas for aerobics and I like them but never tried their running kicks. Sorry.

Shelly: I don't know anything about the Marine Corps marathon but it sounds interesting. If Cathy and I do it, will you do it with us? }( Enjoy your work out. How many days off to you have to look forward to now that you've finished your 3 day stretch?

Lori: 4DS is heavy lifting combined with short and intense cardios. It's really dependant upon what you like. I personally LOVE this series! I consider it one of her best so far! I'm feeling okay. The cold is not gone but I definately feel better then I did a few days ago and I'm still drinkin' that Airborne!!!!

If my energy level is there after work today my plan is for some cardio. I am planning a run on Thursday and on Saturday in the fitness ctr at the hotel as well so it fits into the week well today. As a result, I think I will save slo mo for tmrw and friday. Ofcourse, if I get a big burst of energy I could always pump some iron BEFORE doing the cardio but I seriously don't think that will happen today....Oh well.

Off to get more java!:9

Hi Cheetahs!

Need to do a quick workout this morning as I have to take Jimmy to the new Doggie Day Care by 7:00AM this morning. I was going to get to work before that, but now I’m thinking I’ll grab a shower, drop him off, and come home to make lunch, etc. It’ll be S&H legs this morning and S&H shoulders this afternoon.

Sunny – Good! I’m glad to hear it. Will you hurt after the half? Probably, but just crossing that finish line and knowing you did it is so worth it! Which KB/Yoga fusion was that?

Cathy – glad you’re pushing it out of your mind and moving on. Enjoy your day off!!! You’re not an “oinker!” you silly girl! If you stayed within your points, then you’re doing well!

Lorie – I love your attitude girl! I agree with you – it’s okay to say that a workout is not for you, but you do not have to totally bash something. I don’t understand why people feel they have to do that!

Shelly – Enjoy your run and leg workout! Sounds like a great mix! I’ll forgive you for not doing yoga *grins*. At least you stretched – that’s all that matters.

Lori – glad you slept well. Wow, they certainly have you on the swing shift, don’t they? The new series is really good. The weight workout alone is fabulous. The cardio has options to combine them for hour long workouts. It’s a nice series. I like this one. Okay – they already convinced you… I just added my two cents. :p

Have a great day everyone!

***GIFT EXCHANGE SUGGESTION***

I am noticing as people post their ideas that there are alot of clothing type things listed but most are neglecting to post their size. You might want to go back and review your post and repost it with sizes if need be.

For example: Weight lifting gloves have been mentioned a few times and I know they come sized S,M,L. :)

Thanks!

Wendy - you snuck in there on me girlfriend! I know of a few races where they run in costumes - the Bay to Breakers is one (www.baytobreakers.com) - but that's a race that is just totally San Francisco! Hope you have a great workout!!!

Good morning ladies! Last night I ran 4 miles instead of 5. However, 1.5 of those miles were intervals so I think that makes up for the extra mile I skipped. I liked running during Dancing with the Stars. It made the time fly by. Tonight is weight training. I think I might do ME.

This morning did not go as planned. I was hoping to get up by 5:30 so I could get the kids ready and vote before dropping them off at daycare. My voting place is the opposite direction of both the kids daycare and my work. However, I was up 4 times last night. DS threw up once so I had to change the bed linens. No fever and he is fine this morning. Not sure what the deal was. Anyway, I did get up with the kids at 5:45, but DD refused to get up. She is like her Daddy. :) I had to literally hold her down to get her dressed after numerous attempts to sweet talk her into it. Anyway, we left the house later than I wanted so I took them to daycare, DS if off school today, and now I'm at work.

Oh, my DH made it to GA safely. However, he was almost hit twice and rear ended once. A car came within 1 inch of side swiping them. Needless to say he was glad to make it to his destination safely.

Lorie - I'm so sorry to hear about your student. I'm glad she is somewhere she can get help. I will keep her in my prayers.

Well, I have some work to get started on. I'll check back later.

Kristi - glad DH made it to GA safely - even though it was a scary drive! Mine is safely in Florida. My mornings never go as planned! LOL.

I thought I'd post my menu early so you lovely ladies can hold me accountable:

B- Protein Shake with bananas, strawberries and flax seed
S- egg whites, soy sausage, onions, tomatoes
L- Greek salad (like yesterday) and tomato/basil/moz veggie burger on whole wheat small tortilla
S- Cedarlane Rice and Bean burrito
D- homemade pizza - fresh moz, tomatoes, basil and a salad

Well, I'm off to do S&H Legs. Enjoy everyone!

as usual, i have read nothing and need to get in the shower but i just wanted to brag for a minute. :p i did iTread 6/60 outdoors. i knew it was going to be tough because the wind was blowing but i didn't realize that the wind would be blowing so hard at times that i COULDN'T EVEN HEAR GRACE on the highest volume!!! x(

anyway, i did 1.27 miles (that's the distance from my house to the end of the street where i turn) in 7:52!!! i don't think i've ever gone that fast. AND, this was the first part where grace says not to go above a 2-3. i finished 6.3 miles in 55:57 which i think is pretty a-ok with the wind factor.

anyway, i had to brag to people that would understand. i tried telling df and he was like, "oh, so what kind of time were you looking to do." none, dumba$$! i was just proud of the time i did. he has no clue when it comes to runing.

okay, i am running (ha ha) so late. gotta get in the shower and i will be back later with WAY OVERDUE personals.

Hey Lori you are speedy! It took me 60" to get to 6 miles with itread 6 outdoors yesterday. And I was happy with my achievement. But you are a runner and I am a mere (happy) jogger.

Kristi I am sorry about your rough morning and DH's near miss! Will you get a chance to vote later?

Shelly Why is yoga such a hard habit to get into? Enjoy your time off. How many days are you off now? Pilates starts on Thursday. I'll post about it.

Christine Nice menu the last few days. I posted mine on the drop 10 check in yesterday . I will do so today too.

Hi Cathy, Wendy, Wendi, Lori and Carole !!

This morning I got up early, the time change takes DH and I time to adjust to. He was out the door before 5:00 (before 6 DST) so I got up too. I did 4DS KB/legs/abs and will do 4DS shoulders shortly here.

The Chicago tournament did not give us the results we had hoped for. We really should have won our division. The kids need to learn from their mistakes. On a good note We asked DS to really remember his good sportsmanship and outside of one stupid penalty he did well. And he skated really well too.

Good Morning cheetahs

Sunny...glad the knees feel better. I have not run in Ryka's. I wear Saucony's as they come in wide width. Have you ever gone to a running store to be fitted? And where they can watch you run to find the right type of shoes for you.

Cathy...I never did use the roller on the quads, I didn't want to scream! I was glad when my sis called to say she was sore too!! My body does normally wake early...but I had slept on the couch as DH irritated me and after he got up about 4 AM, I went back in my bed! I bet those phone calls wear you out after a long day...your Thank you post was sweet...I just hope The Issue eventually runs out of steam. Enjoy your nice day off and 4DS workout.

Wendy...Slo-mo was fun ad I have DOMS today!! Hope you feel good enough for some cardio after work.

Lorie...glad you liked Imax2! So sad about that girl. I am so happy they got her to the hospital before she could do anything rash. She will be in my prayers...I hope today is a cheery day for you!! I seemed to not care for a few posts in the Open Forum yesterday. I think some people in the OF thrive on controversy! WOW!!! Awesome job doing 1.27 in 7:52!!!..Okay, now you have me LMAO with your DF Dumba$$ comment...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/lol6.gif[/img]

Shelly...quads are a bit sore today but I will run. Enjoy your interval run and GSL.

Lori...That is so sweet your DH wanted to order the new workouts for you. Like Shelly said, much more variety in the 4DS workouts as compared to CTX. I think you would enjoy the heavy weight work. I also think you'd like Slo-mo as there are also great premixes and the exercises are some I have never done. I did an LIC upper body circuit after the Slo-mo premix.

Christine...that is so funny about the outer leg lift in LIS...I like those for some reason...:)..sounded like a great cardio workout. Sorry about another bladder infection for DD18, I have had three in my life and they are not fun. The LIC circuit workout did seem to get some soreness out of my quads. I think you would enjoy Slo-mo...Have fun with your S&H split workout today.

Kristi...sorry about the restless night with DS being sick. Funny about DD not getting out of bed like DH!!....:)...wow, glad DH made it to his destination...

Linda...I do have some DOMS from Slo-mo...:)...I will tackle the leg workout today!

Wendi...good job with the 4DS workout yesterday. My quads are still a bit sore but LIC yesterday did loosen them up some. I think you will enjoy BBC.

I do have some DOMS from Slo-Mo...:), and will tackle the Slo-Mo leg workout today along with a run. Got all the molding up except for one little piece DH has to recut so I might get some pics taken...finally. I am also making a Vegetable Taco soup in my crockpot today...wanted to try something new!!

Have a great day...:)

Cathy – I hope you enjoy your day off! Our schools always close for elections. They set up voting booths in them.

Lorie – Great job on the 1.27 miles in 7:25! That is great. I can only dream of one day running that fast.

Judy – Sorry the tournament didn’t go well. However, that was great advice you gave DS. If only more parents were like you. Great workout so early this morning too. I will get to vote later. I’m going to stop there on my way home for lunch. Hopefully it won’t be too busy then. I very rarely miss a chance to vote. It is so important. I feel that if a person doesn’t vote then they don’t have the right to complain if things aren’t going as they think it should. Maybe that is a little harsh. 

SunnyD – I’m glad to hear your knees are better and that you aren’t thinking any more about dropping out of the HM. You have worked so hard.

Carole – I’m looking forward to seeing pics. The vegetable taco soup sounds delicious. Enjoy your workout today.

Christine – Your menu looks delicious!

Lori – Your DH is so sweet to want to order 4DS for you! Glad you got a good night’s rest last night.

Waves to Wendy, Wendi, Susan, Shelly, & Linda. I hope I didn’t forget anyone, which I probably did.

Good morning cheetah friends:)

Well, I am back from my long hiatus. I just got back from Sonoma county last night after a long 4 day weekend. It was wonderful and just what the family needed. I have been a bit out of sorts the past 2 weeks due to just missing my mom and really dealing with the fact that she is really gone and also dealing with my best friend Mary and her cancer. I am really just taking it day by day now and trying to live each day to the fullest. I know that sounds corny, but I think in my case I need to do this. I am such a control freak that I really struggle with my life when things get out of my control. But, life is good and today is a new day:)

I am sorry you guys have been looking for me about the gift exchange. I am DEFINITLEY in! I have missed you guys and really need this forum for my emotional strength and to kick me in the panst about my HORRIBLE HORRIBLE eating lately. That is a whole other topic though;-)

I am defintiley working out like a cheetah still. I have not been running as much as I would like, but I am getting some in. I have been doing a lot of circuit workouts and some of the heavy upper body from the new series. I love thoses weight workouts.

Well, I am off to fix lunches and then am working in my youngest class today. I will do the elliptical and shoulder from the new series. I will be back for personals after all that, I promise.

Cheers!

Susan
