Checkin 2-2-02

Steppingup

Cathlete
Hello again. I can't believe another week has gone by. I guess that's what happens when you are a busy crosstrainer...AND I was this week. We are having special meetings at my church and for tomorrow I have made 5 pans of lasagna for lunch. Three the regular way with meat and then two with vegetables instead of the meat. It took about four hours just to put it all together. I'm waiting until tomorrow to actually cook it in the oven.

MONDAY: Advanced Step. HAD A BLAST WITH ANDRE!!!!

TUESDAY: MIS-Legs (no weights) AND Tamilee's Total Body Stretch (Floor)

WEDNESDAY: Unplanned rest. Went fishing with DH. Almost fell out of the boat into 8 feet of water but I caught myself. It was quite amusing.

THURSDAY: Super Step AND Tamilee's TBS (Standing)

FRIDAY: Unplanned Rest. Just too darn busy.

SATURDAY: Powermax (1st and 2nd sections) AND Tamilee's TBS (Floor). I had forgotten how tough Powermax was. Whew, what a workout. Can we say jelly legs????

All in all I am fairly happy with my week especially considering other things that have gone on this week. It has been a busy one. Did I mention that this week has been busy???????

Looking forward to reading about everyone's week!!!!!!

Good for you, Kelly! Five lasagnas? That's enough for a week's worth of workouts in my book! Plus fishing, etc., I'm jealous!

I had a pathetic week as far as workouts went. I did Cardio Kicks on Tuesday, and Circuit Max on Saturday. They both felt great, though!

I went to do Yoga Upper Body for Beginners (Rodney Yee) after Circuit Max today, and the tape went blank right after the first pose. Took it back to Indigo and got a replacement, hopefully this one will work. I'm hoping this one will do as it says and open up the chest, help with the upper back pain, etc.

Happy fitness, everyone :)
Sandi

PS After I did Circuit Max today, my two daughters (6 & 8) wanted to go to the "gym" (my son was at hockey with dad), and so put Cathe's Cardio Kicks in the machine. It was so cute to watch them try to work out with Cathe and the gang. They really gave it their best shot until the moves got a little too complicated. I know I'm setting a great example!

Hello, hello!! How is everyone? I've been enjoying reading all the boards this week. Here we go:

I really missed my videos this week! I was doing so much with my routines for class and teaching, that my body couldn't handle any more. I remember when I used to think it would be great to be an instructor cause exercising would be part of my job. But I love my videos too!

Tue. S&H chest back
Wed. Taught hi/lo
Thu. Lots of practice

Hi. Sounds like I'm not the only one with a less than stellar week, but at least I did something I guess. My week was interrupted when my car died in the middle of the highway, and I had to wait 2 hours for a tow truck! Then, another day I just feel too down in the dumps :( Here's my week nonetheless...

Monday...Planned rest day
Tuesday...CTX Power Circuit entire tape
Wednesday...CTX 10/10/10 entire tape
Thursday...Unplanned rest...BAD car day!
Friday...Step Heat (no abs)+ BodyMax upper body and abs only
Saturday...Planned rest day, was gonna workout anyway, but I needed a mental rest
Sunday...nothing yet, my day's turning out to be quite busy, so we'll see what I can squeeze in, maybe Leaner Legs

I'm hoping for a better week in all aspects next week!

Stacy

Hi Everyone,

Kelly, with the 'cooking for a crowd' expertise you have, maybe you can cook at Cathe's next road trip? You made me hungry for lasgna.

It is always nice to read the posts here! This is a great and educated group!

Mon: CTX 10-10-10, ran 3 miles
Tues: off
Wens: MIC, ran 4 miles
Thurs: Interval Max, MIS, ran 3 miles
Fri: Cardio Kicks, S&H Triceps & Biceps
Sat: Karen Voight Energy Sprint, S&H Legs & Shoulders
Sun: Body Max

Have a great Super Bowl Sunday,
Laura

Laura, your Saturday & Sunday are amazing! Looks like Cathe is keeping you busy! I had an OK week this week... here it is beginning last Saturday:

Sat: PS L&A
Sun: PS SC&T, 2 mile run
Mon: PS BB&A
Tue: 2 mile run, ski racing
Wed: planned rest
Thu: Circuit Max
Fri: unplanned rest
Sat: PS L&A, 2 mile run
Sun: PS SC&T, 1.5 mile run

My goal this week is to add IMax in on Friday. I'm scared. That workout kills me.

Has anyone done a PS/Circuit Max rotation? That is what I am trying now, and was wondering if anyone saw any results from such a rotation in the past?? So far my shoulders seem to be the sorest from this rotation. Hopefully they are getting stronger!!

Cheers,
Cruncholi

Hi Ladies!
Looks like everyone had a good week. Can't get into the Super Bowl this year because I am still upset about the Steelers........kickoff is soon and I just don't care! :)
Anyhow......my week
Mon. -- chest/tris./abs
Tues. -- 35 mins. on crosstrainer high intensity
Wed. -- back/bis/abs.
Thurs. -- pump and pace class(spin with weights)- 1 hr......the instructor killed me with dumbbell upright rows and my right arm basically died. Just when I thought I was strong! lol! :)
Fri. -- shoulders/legs/abs. -- except this week I substituted deep knee squats on smith machine for machine squats. I am sore as hell from these!
Sat. -- squeezed in Intervalmax before watching 1 yr old all day.Legs very sore.
Sun. -- 1 hour spin class....my legs are sooo sore from those squats friday i could barely turn the pedals. Thought I did really well though. My standing sprints are steadily improving.
Well, off to get some quiet time before Brandon wakes up!!
Take care everyone and keep up the good work.
Trevor :) :-jumpy

Had a windy, wet & cold week here. Great to see the mountains w/ snow on them. I don't know if I was fighting a virus or just turned into a wienie but felt chilled most of the week.

Mon: PS CST; abs; cycle 17.5 flat but windy miles
Tue: Trot 32 min w/ #1 dog; Stott Pilates
Wed: Spin; PS Legs & abs
Thu: unplanned rest
Fri: Trot 45 min; Spin
Sat: PS BB&A
Sun: Cycle 70 miles w/ DH - hills & headwinds. Glad I wasn't solo because one of my tires blew. It's definitely a Scott Cole night after a dash to the bike store for a new tire.

Have a good week everyone!

Debra

Pump & Pace?

Hi Trevor!

What's the format of the Pump & Pace class?

Brave man squeezing in Interval Max before a day of solo parenting!

Debra

I ended up not even posting in last week's checkins because it was such a sorry week for me. But this week was definitely better!

Monday: 35 min Stairmaster

Tuesday: S&H Biceps/Triceps/Abs

Wednesday: S&H Shoulders/CTX All Step Cardio/Abs

Thursday: Rest Day

Friday: MIC

Saturday: S&H Legs/CTX Shoulders/Abs

Sunday: S&H Chest/Back/Planks

I've noticed that everything on my body is really bulking up nicely except for my shoulders. Even my husband says my shoulders look so scrawny compared to the rest of me. So I'm going to try and work them at least twice a week and see if that helps somewhat. I'm also going to try for the heavier weights though for some reason I've never been able to lift very heavy with my shoulders. (Don't know why since I can do pretty hefty bench presses!)

That's it for now!

Terri

Wendy: I really like Super Step. The choreography isn't as complex as Christi's but very interesting. I was able to get it fairly quickly except one part of Patrick's section. I had to rewind a few times but once I got it I didn't have any more problems. It's not intense like Cathe but still a good workout. I think the best thing about it is how the three G's interact with one another. They really make it fun and make you smile.

Laura: I LOVE to cook and when it is for a crowd I love it even better. I like to try new recipes and just fiddle around in the kitchen. It is pure pleasure.

Kelly

Kelly,

Just love ya!

Did you know chef's at established places make over $100,000 a year! Maybe someday I'll have a signed copy of your cook book.

Laura

RE: Kelly

Laura,

I've always wondered if I had a job where I HAD to cook if it would take the fun out of it but I don't believe so. That $100,000 would make it pretty enjoyable I would think. LOL!!! I had thought about being a nutritionist also. I had also thought about an at-home business where I would cook dinner for mothers that work. I would have a menu that they could pick from and they could just pick it up on the way home from work.

I think writing a cook book would be fun! I wouldn't have a clue on how to get started though. I don't have a lot of recipes of my very own, some but not a lot. I mostly look at my cook books and then change it to make it better or just different.

RE: Pump & Pace?

Hi Debra!
The format is constantly changing. Sometimes we hammer for 15 mins on the bikes, get off, hit the weights for 15, back on bike for 15, etc. for an hour total. Other times the instructor breaks up the times differently, like for half hour each....or shorter increments like 10 min. each. The instructor changes up so well my body is never gonna get into a rut with that class. It's an intense interval session for sure. We use a bodybar, dumbbells, bands, and step for the weight segment. The toughest for me is doing squats, then getting back on the bike for 15 mins.!
