Cathlete
Hey guys!

Hope everyone is doing well....As for me, I usually check in on Sunday but tomorrow I'm taking my son to the long-awaited World Wrestling Federation match (WWF) in Madison Square Garden. Still a bit nervous about going to NYC while all this sh** is going on, but I would never disappoint my little guy and not go!

Enough babbling. Here's my week:

Monday: MIS Chest/MIS Back/MIS Shoulders/MIS Biceps/Abs

Tuesday: LAZY!!!

Wednesday: CTX All Step Cardio/CTX Shoulders/CTX Chest/Abs

Thursday: CTX Triceps/CTX Biceps/Laying Down portion of PS Legs/Abs/Rhythmic Step on 4" step (I am REALLY having a problem getting down some of these steps in this tape! Am I the only klutzy one???)

Friday: Rest Day (just didn't feel quite right)

Saturday: Power Hour (Wow, I *LOVE* this tape!!!)

Sunday: Off to see WWF...I'm hoping to get in a little workout in the morning but doubt it because I'm sure we'll all want to go out for a HUGE breakfast first....

Hope everyone has been healthy!!!

Terri

Hi Terry!! Who's you son's favorite wrestler? My son is into that too! Well, I must say that I feel lousy this week, and it's only going to get worse. This is normal for being this close to competition though, I'm told, but I'm sitting here alone, talking myself out of eating a cookie. I want to taste sweets again sooooo bad!! Sugar free jello just doesn't quite cut it. He he he! Anyway, I'm pushing through my workouts with my eye still on the goal. My husband even complimented me this morning, so I must be doing something right. Ok, here's my week.

MON: walk/run in a.m. back, bi's nd abs in afternoon, cardio in p.m.

TUES: walked in a.m. (wanted to run, but my dog keep laying down in the middle of the street refusing to run!!) Chest and tri's in afternoon, stepfit in p.m.

WEDS: yoga in a.m., legs, shoulders and abs in p.m.

THURS: walk in a.m., step heat in p.m.

FRI: 10-10-10 in a.m., chest and back in afternoon, MIC(step only) in p.m.

SAT: walk and legs in a.m.

SUN: REST!!!!!

Two weeks to go for me!! Any encouragment greatly appericated at this point. Desperately wanting to gorge!!! Have a great week all!

Aimee

LAST EDITED ON Oct-14-01 AT 07:14PM (Est)[p] Hi everyone. I haven't even finished my week, but I want to post early anyway...Hope you all are doing well with everything that is going on in the world.

Amy, you can do this. You've come this far, so two more weeks won't kill you! And you can have a major pig out soon!

Here's my week:

MONDAY: rest

TUESDAY: Power Hour + STRETCHES ONLY: PowerHour, MIS, Bmax and Cmax

WEDNESDAY: rest (too much housework to do)

THURSDAY: Imax (pushed hard!) + STRETCHES : Imax, MIC, and LL

FRIDAY: PowerHour upper body (am)
PowerHour squats & lunges + LL step ups, calf raises & stretch (pm)

SATURDAY: Still Jumpin' + STRETCHES: Pmax, Stepfit & Stepworks
S&H C&B superman + planks & T&B all abs and stretch

SUNDAY: CTX KB + Power Drills from CK + Planks/abs/stretch from KB (drenched and loved it!!!) :-jumpy

I have noticed a real difference in my core strength by doing abs/planks 3-4 times a week for the past 5 weeks. I can hold all the planks without a struggle anymore!

Next week I'm throwing in a one week session of Slow and Heavy (LOVE that series) before going back to endurance. Then the next week it will be MIS 2x/week, and I'll keep cardio at 3/week, abs 3-4/week, stretch 2-3/week, and 1 interval/week...

See you next week!
Wendy

Aimee–-Hang in there! You can do it! Your dog reminded of one at a 5K. Halfway through the race, this lady's dog just plopped down on the grass. Guess the dog had had enough. It was pretty funny. We were taking a break ourselves since the six-year-old with ulcerative colitis in our group needed a little rest, too.

SUNDAY: Power Hour
MONDAY: 15 min. on elliptical trainer, 1300 yd. swim
TUESDAY: MIS Upper Body, Yoga Zone Yoga for Abs – part 1
WED-FRI: hiking at work
SATURDAY: Power Hour upper body, Step Jam w/u & sec. 1, Step Works c/d

My physical therapist has outlawed any leg work that stresses the hip flexors, i.e. no more lunges, high kicks, or spinning in high gear. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/yellows/unhappy.gif The lunges and squats in Power Hour nearly killed me! The upper body work has been going really well, though, and I was amazed at how much I could increase my weight for MIS after doing the Slow & Heavy rotation.

Hoping to get to the gym today to test out my theoretically better Achilles. It's only two weeks until the 5K, but I will try to remember to take it easy. If I can't run it, I can't run it. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/sad/bored.gif

Aimee,

Remember this about sweets. For the most part they look better than they taste! I have wolfed down some delicious looking thing only to realize that it didn't taste as good as I imagined it would and it screwed up my clean diet.

When you finally do indulge, be sure to do so ssslllooowwwlllyyy.

Savor every bit!

You are going to be awesome and you're coming into the home stretch!

Hi everyone

Gretchen - hope your achilles is healed for you.

Terri - Rhythmic Step is so much fun so don't give up on it. You may just want to watch the tricky parts over and over and you will get it. It all comes together so nicely. Which part is stumping you?

Aimee - you go girl! Onerous is a word I have heard used to describe pre comp dieting and I suspect it is an accurate one from what I hear you saying.

Here was my week:

Monday - Rhythmic Step

Tuesday - rest

Wednesday - S/H legs in a.m. and 45 minute walk in p.m.

Thursday - run 60 minutes

Friday - S/H chest & back in a.m. and 45 minute walk in p.m.

Saturday - Rhymthic Step - I got a cramp in my calf muscle during this workout and thought I may have injured my calf and so plan to take it easy for a day or two.

Sunday - today - calf feels miraculously better but I think a low impact sort of activity such as a bike ride or Rollerblade may be in the cards today especially since there is not much time before the snow flies around my northern part of the world.

Have a great week all.

Kim

Aimee, I don't know what to say, because I don't think I could do what you are doing. But I do feel for you. I really am excited to hear about the competition though, so don't give up!

Life got in the way big time this week.

Sun. my rest day
Mon. don't know what happened this day.
Tue. Power Hour
Wed. CK
Thu. again, I don't know what happened
Fri. had company late
Sat. Rythmic Step and Power Hour upper body and abs and PS SLA floorwork. I think all the squats and lunges in PH are too much for my knees twice a week. And then I was doing BodyMax once a week too. I'm going back to S&H next week. I love it and can't hold out another week like I had planned!

A friend of mine borrowed some videos this week. Hope she enjoys them :)

Andrea

Terri, I hope you and your son had a great time at the WWF.

Aimee, you know I am rooting for you. I am inspired by your efforts and I am determined to keep my diet clean and drop those pesky pounds I put on lately!

Wendy, hi from Tucson! Are you enjoying the cooler weather?

Gretchen, hang in there. I had tendenitis and it was awful but I did recover after a time! You will too!

Andrea, if I had a nickel for every week I have had like the one you describe, I'd wear nicer workout clothes! LOL Every day is a chance to begin anew!

I had a pretty good week which started out badly but ended up fine. My children had no school on Monday and the girls each had a friend spend Sunday night so I spent Monday cleaning and trying to keep up with them.

Monday "working" Rest

Tuesday CTX 10-10-10/Triceps It was hard to do it, felt awful!

Wednesday 5 miler and Slow and Heavy Legs and Shoulders

Thursday 5 miler and Slow and Heavy Chest and Back

Friday Slow and Heavy Triceps and Biceps

Saturday Maximum Intensity Cardio

Sunday 7 miler This was unplanned but it was sunny and 61
degrees at 8:00. I just had to run! 8 and a half
minute miles which is great since I have only been
running 2 to 3 times a week! And I LOVE Slow and Heavy!
It is fabulous!

Have a wonderful week!

I'm trying to get certain elements I want in my weekly rotation and I think this past week I was very close, but not quite, there.

Monday......S&H Chest and Back, 1st part of Still Jumpin', and 1st part of Yoga Sculpt

Tuesday.....Energy Sprint...just the legs and the sprints....not much of a cool down here...should add a nice stretch after this one too :)

Wednesday......S&H Legs and Shoulders

Thursday.....S&H Tris and Bis, 1st part of Still Jumpin'

Friday.....Yoga

Saturday....off

Sunday.....Imax :-wow .....had to be careful because of my knees but finished it with needed modifications

Even if we don't accomplish what we wanted during the week, we are taking care of ourselves and probably won't stray from exercise completely.

I just love :7 the S&H series too. Hope everyone has a great week. :)

Well, here I am later than usual, but here nonetheless!! Looks like everyone did great. Life does have a way of jumping in front of our workouts, huh? My husband just got back from hunting deer in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the Manistee National Forest. He got a six point. We live in Alabama so that was a long way for him to travel. We had to go to my son's cousin's birthday party last night which is about an hour away from our house. We had a blinding rain storm last night and had to drive home in it. I do not like driving in the rain. My son slept through it. Oh to be young again. We were suppose to go to my husband's family reunion which was about an hour and a half away but my grandfather died Thursday and we had to go to the funeral home today. Anyway, life does have a way of filling your time. That is what makes life...well, life!!! Here's my week. I feel good about!

MONDAY: Hi/Lo Heaven 1st and 2nd sections. I had not done this one in a while...fun as usual. Has anyone noticed that when they put up the words about consulting your physician before starting an exercise program that program is spelled wrong. I think they spelled it probram. I thought it was funny! Silly me, I am sleep deprived so what can you expect.

TUESDAY: S&H chest/back

WEDNESDAY: Advanced Step

THURSDAY: S&H Biceps/triceps AND 3.5 mile walk/run

FRIDAY: Super Step Just the first two combos. No time or energy for any more.

SATURDAY: S&H Legs/Shoulders

I REALLY like slow and heavy. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and stays healthy!!!!

Kelly

I am just starting rotations and am playing around with the tapes that I have. I just got done doing this rotation:

Sunday - Interval Max (Difficult at this point, but I pursue to get through with lower impact.

Monday - PS/Chest,Shoulders,Triceps - Walk

Tuesday - Mega Step - Abs

Wednesday - Rest

Thursday PS - Legs/Abs - Walk

Friday - Body Max

Saturday - MIS - Walk

These are other Cathe tapes I have. Step N Motion, Step Max. I would greatly appreciate any input on this rotation. Any suggestions as to other tapes that would be helpful for someone starting out once again in 12 years.

Patty

Hi Patty :) Your week looks tough! One thing I noticed is that you did 3 leg workouts in a row--(Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). You may want to consider just doing the cardio portion of BodyMax if you have done legs the day before or are planning on doing them the next day. Same goes for upper body--you did upper body on Friday and Saturday.
If you are re-starting, maybe ease into all these great tapes. Maybe a rotation with MIS 1,2 or 3 times per week, with 3 or 4 cardio:
Monday: MIS &walk
Tuesday: MSB
Wednesday: Bodymax step portion only
Thursday: MIS (and or walk)
Friday: rest
Saturday: StepMax
Sunday: MIS (and/or walk)

I personally think MIS 3 times a week is too much, but some people can handle it!

There are a million other rotations you could do...do a quick search...
Just the fact that you are working out at all is great! Keep it up, and good luck :)

Wendy

Greetings!

Looks like I had a bit of company during my disrupted week. Car trouble, dog trouble, too much socializing & too little sleep for me. Our vet told me his wife is going to start asking questions about my visits, 3 in 10 days for different problems. His vet student intern from VA was thrilled since he'd never seen a Rhodesian Ridgeback before.

Mon: trot 30 min; followed by Tamilee 10 min stretch
Tues: PH; Tamilee 30 min stretching tape
Wed: trot 22 min; Tamilee 10 min stretch; spinning
Thu: PH
Fri: "rest" - I power cleaned the house & cleaned downstairs carpet. Darn machine is heavy & awkward.
Sat: felt like a zombie, finally went for a 37 min solo trot before a party. Knew if I didn't get some blood pumping, that I was really going to feel bad.
Sun: Cycle 52 miles w/ hubby (finally feeling pretty good); Hopefully Millenium Stretch tonight

My knees have been bothering me the last 2 weeks. Power Hour was the new element but I could have strained my knees pushing too big of a gear on the bike or when running. I've been very careful on the running but was afraid Trevor was going to get to remind me that he'd warned me! Anyhow, I may have been going too deep on the PH plie' squats. I modified the plies a bit & knees felt much better during the static lunges. Think I'll skip them entirely this week. It did tell me that my inner thighs need some work so I'm going to try & get in some of Karen Voight's floor work to target them.

My Mariners hung in there today! Sorry Debbie H!

Have a great week everyone! Don't break the seal on the Halloween candy!
Debra

Hi All

I had a horrible week as far as workouts go! :( between medical appointments, business appointments, and not feeling well, I didn't do much of anything.

Better Luck this week!!

Monday- 30 minute stretching

Tuesday- Karate, Chest Machine routine

Sunday- 5 min Elliptical, 5 min Treadmill, Max Int Str.

I am glad to see everybody had better weeks than me! :)

How refreshing you all are!

Everyone has their own mountains to climb each and every day. I know it shows up in every check in, but it was very evident to me this time! And all still hang in there and keep climbing! I guess I just need a boost. Thank you :)
Andrea

RE: How refreshing you all are!

It's always best to err on the side of caution. Smart women know when to take it easy! Knowing when to bend keeps us from breakining!

Wendy,

If you ever get down to Tucson, I am right off I-10. This is why we put up with those long hot summers! I can't wait until it's even cooler!

Bobbi

Kim:
Just to give you an idea of how slow I pick up on step tapes, it took me quite awhile to get down Cathe's CTX All Step tape. I had no problem with the Step & Intervals one, but the All Step took me quite a bit of time.

I'll go back over the tape and identify EXACTLY which of the moves are stumping me....maybe you can give me some advice!

Terri

Aimee:
My son's favorite wrestler is OF COURSE The Rock! However, Kurt Engle (did I spell that right???) is right up there behind him!

(As for me, I've always loved Triple H's body....what can I say...)

Terri

Aimee - I REALLY admire your dedication! You're going to do awesome at your competition. I still think you should enter that Muscle and Fitness Hers competition though. . .

Hello to everyone else - just doing a quick check-in right now so I'll have to come back and read about everyone's weeks.

My week was good exercise-wise but I really fell off the wagon with my clean eating. Too many social events this week and not enough willpower I'm afraid. Anyway, here goes:

Sunday - Step Fit

Monday - CIA PowerBar Workout

Tuesday - Interval Max

Wednesday - PS-SLA

Thursday - CTX Kickbox cardio + Gilad Fat Burning Workout

Friday - Power Hour

Saturday - Step Max (supposed to be a rest day but feeling too guilty because of all the sweets I had this week)

Next week I'm back to the Pure Strength series and I'll DEFINITELY make sure I take a rest day this week. Almost fell asleep during church yesterday - oops! And it wasn't our priest's fault either he'll be happy to know!
