Hi My Friends! Thought I'd go ahead and post my workout for the week as I have a SUPER busy day tomorrow. Our church is combining with three or four other churches in our area and meeting at Canal Park, then we all stay for lunch and an Akron Aero's game afterwards. Sounds like a fun day but they are predicting rain! :-( Julie, Scott, Kennedy, my son-Jonathan, a friend of his and also my In-laws will be joining us. Big OLE family day!! Okay, my week:

Monday-Practiced new routines for my Fall session, S&H- LEGS&SHOULDERS, jogged 3 miles

Tuesday~Taught a Hi/Lo class, S&H-TRICEPS & BICEPS & ABS

Wednesday~Practiced routines, S&H-CHEST & BACK & Corework

Thursday~Taught a Hi/Lo-worked on new session paperwork all afternoon and evening.

Friday~PowerHour, Jogged 4 miles

Saturday~Jogged 4 miles, Practiced rotuines

Sunday~REST!! :)

I received my DVD's this week! They are great! I am loving the S&H series. I have really felt the muscles get shocked this week. :-wow Just what the Dr. ordered! I also love PowerHour. It just flies by because the music is great, the routine is just enough different not to be bored and of course, Cathe and the crew did a wonderful job with it all. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your Summer! Look forward to hearing about your week.

Well Debbie, your week is stunning as usual. You are really getting into that running! I can't wait until I am up to 3 or 4 miles. I just made it up to 1 mile this week. Yippee!! That is huge for me. I also love the slow & heavy series. (I made a typo and put slow and "heave" series, hmmmmm...wonder what that means.) I started using Power Hour this week and I must say that I love it also. It is a great workout and I really felt it the next day and the next and the next...big ouch! Well, here is my week...which I am pretty happy with.

MONDAY: Step This Way (first 3 combos) and Breathru CC Pilates

TUESDAY: Power Hour and Walk/Run 2.5 miles. This was my first time running a full mile. YEAAAAAAAAA!!!! I was just a little excited about that.

WEDNESDAY: Advanced Step. Andre makes me smile.

THURSDAY: Step This Way (first 4 combos) Advanced Step (20 minutes)

FRIDAY: Walk/Run 3 miles

SATURDAY: Power Hour and lots of yardwork!

That Power Hour really got me. My legs were sooooooooo sore that I had to wait until Saturday to do it again. The second time I went down a little on the weights and it was still hard but I didn't nearly kill myself. Step This Way is another good one. It is going to take me a little bit of practice to get all the steps but it is really fun. I actually enjoyed my running this week and am feeling a little more comfortable with it. My calves are really feeling it and I have to do a lot of stretching afterwards because they get so tight but I had that problem when I started stepping so I guess they will just have to adjust.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great week!!!!

Kelly

Hi Debbie! I cannnot imagine jogging 4 miles and doing PowerHour on the same day. I got my DVDs this week, too and I am In Love!! Can't WAIT to do Slow and Heavy, and I did Power Hour just yesterday--loved loved loved it, but boy were my legs SHAKING during those static lunges. Holy Moly!!
I had a really stellar week, as you will now see:
MONDAY: rest
TUESDAY: rest
WEDNESDAY: rest
THURSDAY: rest (do you see a pattern...?)
FRIDAY: forgot to rest--did Power Hour instead
SATURDAY: Rhythmic Step--I did this the whole way through with not one mistake the first time!!! Cathe can cue like no one else--I am stunned :) I love this tape--it is just what I like--the intensity doesn't come from propulsion or power 15's, but from large movements and great choreography. Perfect!
SUNDAY: I will do cardio and most likely some weights--maybe I'll try out S&H...
Have great weeks everyone!
Wendy

Go Kelly!

Kelly congratulations!!! Wow, getting to that 1 mile point must feel incredible. Good for you :-jumpy

Hi everybody!! This was my first week on a new rotation and honestly, I'm not liking it! I want to be exhausted each and everyday, satisfied that I worked hard. However, you grow after you workout therefore, I must rest a little more than I'm used to. I have 9 weeks to go for my competition, and boy am I getting excited. 5 weeks before my PT Cert. Things are flowing along smoothly. My precomp diet, I think is going well. I'm actually having a pretty easy time with it, which make me think I'm doing something wrong. According to Fitday and Dietwatch, my numbers are pretty right on though. We'll see. Ok, enough blabbing, here's my week!!

MON: Yoga, Pullups(16 yeah!!)BBA and S&H pullovers and low back work, and IMAX

TUES: Yoga, PS Chest and Tri's, S&H chest, S&H Tri's OH extensions, calf work, and CardioKicks

WEDS: Yoga and MIC(all of it except for the intervals at the end of the step part)

THURS: Yoga, PS SLA and S&H Squats, Lunges, side lunges, calves, and leg extensions and ham curls

FRI: Yoga, and felt like doing my own shoulder workout. Barbell press, upright rows, sides, fronts, rears, militaries for 45min. and StepWorks

SAT: Intense Moves

SUN: REST and YOGA

Ok, everybody, that's my workout week!! I start back to regular work come Tues. YUCK!!! Mon., I will start getting up at 5:30 to do cardio. HB and all you other early birds how do you do it???? If it wasn't for this comp, I WOULD NOT be doing it. Is it hard to get in the groove??? Thanks for any info!!

Aimee

FRI:

After four years, it's a real habit to get up early. It DOES cut into any night life, however. I struggled real hard to stay up for that worthless interview with Connie Chung and "that guy" on Thursday. No more to be said on that....I refuse to discuss politics here!!!! No politics and no religion.

I have no check in (a rest week), but this week I go entirely CTX for the first time. I always stuck in some walking before, but this time I'm doing 3 weeks solid of CTX, and then on to something else with PS, maybe. I may go 6 weeks with CTX, we'll see. I LOVE the short time frames!!!!

In a few minutes I'll head downstairs to do All Step for the first time. What took me so long?

Hi guys!

I'm one of those people who has problems keeping their weight UP and I noticed I had gone down a few pounds, so stuck to all weights this past week. (Besides, I got the S&H DVDs and just couldn't help myself!)

Let me just preface this by saying that I don't know if it's in my head or something, but I already see a change in my body after only one week of S&H. I love doing it slow like this and find I'm really working the muscle...

Anyway...

Monday: Rest

Tuesday: CTX Biceps/CTX Triceps/Abs

Wednesday: MIS Legs & Abs

Thursday: S&H Chest & Back

Friday: S&H Biceps & Triceps/Abs

Saturday: Rest

Sunday: Planning on doing S&H Legs & Shoulders today.

I have not even VIEWED Rhythmic Step yet nor Power Hour. But I have no doubt that I'll love them both!

Hope everyone has a good week!

Terri

I'm getting over a sore throat/head cold. I missed about 3 workouts last week, but this week I'm back at it though I found myself hitting the pause button more often. Oh well, better than nothing! Here's my week..

MONDAY: Reebok's Intense Moves + abs
TUESDAY: CIA's Power Bar Training
WEDNESDAY: Step Fit + abs
THURSDAY: Rest
FRIDAY: Body Max
SATURDAY: Step Jam + abs
SUNDAY: Circuit Max

I modified a few of the tapes in my rotation on account of my lower energy level. I've been doing more of an endurance workout to get me back in the swing of things as well as easing myself back into strength training. For various reasons I havent been working out on a regular basis for the past few months. Anyway, keep up the good work everyone!

:) Stacy

Kelly: I'm right in there with you on the running. I barely take a few jogging steps, and my heart rate shoots up there. We'll get there, though.

Wendy: Glad to hear that Rhythmic Step is doable. I previewed it yesterday and it has a lot of the same elements I love about my fav step vid (CIA 9806) with the added bonus of Cathe.

Honeybunch: I finally previewed All Step this week. Wonder what's been taking me so long as well. Looks like fun!

:-wow -- it's been forever since I've checked in here. Had a very busy first summer directing the Girl Scout day camp :7 . "Thank heavens for little girls" because they are so much fun. Also, didn't have much time for my beloved Cathe videos because every spare moment I found was spent either canoeing or training for the Danskin triathlon. I did finish, and now I feel like I can do anything. I also found that I really, really like triathlons, and that I really, really cannot run (yet ;-) ). Also found out that not doing weight training, and having an endless supply of Girl Scout cookies 20 feet away, will cause even an active ectomorph to gain 5 pounds in a very short period of time.

Anyway, here's my week:

SUNDAY: 16 hour drive from Minnesota to Denver
MONDAY: rest
TUESDAY: 45 min. run/walk, CTX shoulders, biceps, triceps, CTX kickbock planks/abs
WEDNESDAY: massive amounts of hiking, a fair amount with a heavy pack
THURSDAY: more hiking (back down the mountain), but not so much
FRIDAY: Cardio Kicks w/u, PS Chest, CTX Back, 45 min. run/walk
SATURDAY: 40 min. of Millennium Stretch

Now it's on to a PS rotation to gear up for S&H in two weeks when I have a little more time. Have a great Sun(ny)day, everybody! :-cool

:) Gretchen

Hi everyone!

Another great week for all of you. I haven't checked in for awhile because I was enjoing reading the forum for way too long and didn't have time to post. I have enjoyed the S/H series and Power Hour. I haven't done Rhythmic step yet for a couple of reasons. One: the posts look scary describing its difficulty, Just kidding. Two: I have a foot/toe joint inflamation (I am thankful it was not a stress fracture) that is taking forever to heal. I have trying to keep the high impact to a minimum the last three to four weeks. Hopefully this week I will get back to the step, I sure miss it.

Well, here was my week:

Mon: S/H Biceps and Triceps. Took the dog on a hour vigorous walk.

Tues. Cardio Kicks with abs from Power Circuit

Wed. S/H Chest and Back. Played and walked 18 holes of golf

Thursday: S/H Legs and Shoulders with an hour bike ride about 10 miles. Also did two hours of yard/weed work which sure felt like a workout.

Friday: Decided to listen to my body and take a rest. Did a Yoga tape

Saturday: Power Hour followed by an hour bike ride, same route as before.

Sunday: Hour 15 minute vigorous walk with the dog.

Boy, these weeks go by so fast. I think I have one more week on this rotation and then I'll try something new and learn Rhythmic Step.

Have a great week everyone!

RE: Freeze, Breeze & Wheeze

Hi everyone

Today was the triathlon day and I had not even rode my bike or swam until today at the tri! Silly I know but I got 1st in my age category and I believe 3rd overall of the women. What a rush! And, yesterday, I went in a canoe race (5 km) with my date and we placed third. First time in a canoe this year too. The tri was .5 km swim, 20 km bike and a 6 km run.

Aimee, the early bird thing becomes a habit after a while. I never believed I could get up at 5:30 and begin working out by 6:30 but when forced with that time or no time because of kids and work, etc., I learned to do it and now even prefer that time of day for a workout.

Here was my week:

Monday - run 45 minutes

Tuesday - Power Hour in a.m. and run 60 minutes in p.m.

Wednesday - rest

Thursday - run 45 minutes

Friday - rest

Saturday - canoe race (45 minutes solid minutes of paddling)

Sunday - triathlon in less time than it takes to do Bodymax.

And after 3 weeks of holidays which involved more work than rest on my house with renovations, I go back to work tomorrow. :(

Have a great week everyone.

Kim

Hi Kelly,
You should be so happy about making the full first mile run! The first mile is by far the hardest (in my opinion). I used to run and I remember it took me forever to get the first mile (probably because I had just quit smoking after 9 1/2 years!!)
Anyway after the first mile, the rest will seem much easier! Keep up the great work.
Lisa

RE: Triathlon

Congratulations, Kim! I loved the one triathlon I was in. I take it that this one wasn't your first. It takes a little longer than Body Max for me to get through. ;-)

:) Gretchen

Good morning, all!

You runners are quite inspirational. I'm toying with the idea of adding a running session to the mix. Starting Oct. 1, I move to a work schedule where I'm able to leave at noon on Fridays, and plan to move my workout that I did on Thursday nights (and have been consistently blowing off over the summer) to Friday afternoons - running may become the cardio mode of choice. Although I have my new Cathe tapes I haven't really brought them into the mix yet, but I'm taking this Thurs./Fri. off, and have great plans!

Mon. 8/20: I-Max warmup, MIC step; 10 min. abs, 30 min. upper body

Wed. Taught my aqua class

Thurs. BLEW IT OFF! SHAME ON ME!

Sat. Taught my aqua class; 75 min. total body strengthening; mistook a 40-pound barbell for a 30-pounder on my bench presses - was wondering why it felt so heavy

Sun. I-Max, 25 minutes standing and floor leg strengthening, 10 mins. abs, 45 minutes upper body strengthening; 1-hour walk with a friend

GO GET 'EM, TIGRESSES! HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

Annette

DebbieH-Looks like you're having fun working on your own stuff.
Kelly-CONGRATS on the 1 mile! I know how you feel!
Wendy-How could you forget to rest???
Aimee-You are going to show us pics at comp time...right?
Stacy-Great week for having a cold!
HB & Gretchen-I can't believe you haven't done All Step yet. Very fun.
Kim- :-wow awesome lady!

My week:
Mon. CTX chest, back, abs + 9905 hi/lo first 3 combos
Tue. rest
Wed. CTX bis, tris, abs
Thu. Step Works WU & 1st section + rest of MIC from last week (about 20 min.)
RS in the eve. Got my DVDs!!!
Fri. S&H Legs & Shoulders...Love it!

Tuesday is my last day of work! Now I get to think of some reaaly witty rhings to say when people say "So, what do you do?"
Andrea

RE: Freeze, Breeze & Wheeze

Congratulations Kim!!

What a woman! Do you think the house renovating was the key to your training program? Reminds one of Pat Morita's training program for the "Karate Kid". The local men better watch out if you ever follow a traditional training program ;-).

working off a payroll

Andrea, I still stumble on my response even though I haven't practiced my profession (CPA) in 5 years. Depending on the circumstances, I'm a house slave, dog nanny, culinary school dropout, or kept woman. The best response I've heard was "domestic goddess" but I can't pull it off. Something about having dog hair all over your clothes & dirt under your nails after weeding that makes it tough to describe oneself as a "goddess."
