Check-in 12-9-01

Steppingup

Cathlete
My week was lacking in the crosstraining department....severely. My chiropractor said that walking was the best exercise for me right now. Soooooo, I walked and walked and walked. I did not do any strength work in hopes that my back would heal faster. My week has felt weird by all these changes. I really don't even feel like I have worked out.
WARNING: Slight whine ahead.....I MISS MY STEP AEROBICS!

I feel better now. Here is my very consistent week!!

MONDAY: 3-mile walk

TUESDAY: 4-mile walk

WEDNESDAY: Felt really bad and decided not to walk.

THURSDAY: 3-mile walk

FRIDAY: 1.5-mile walk

SATURDAY: 3-mile walk

I had limited time and energy on Friday so I decided to make each step count and really tightened my rear end and legs with every step. It really made a difference and I was sore the next day. It's hard to concentrate so hard...I mean every step!

I may just have to break out a step tape next week because I feel like I am going to explode if I don't get a step fix really soon.

I will be back to read everyone's week!!!!!

Kelly: I totally understand your "craving" for step...I would be the same way!

We were on a cruise part of last week and I did some bike-riding and the stairmaster on the cruiseship but I have to admit that I couldn't wait to get home and do one of Cathe's step tapes!

As far as my week, since I got back from the cruise, I've felt like I'm catching a cold or something...just feeling somewhat run down. Probably the change in temperature going from 80 degrees down to 29 degrees! PLUS I've been so busy at week doing year-end close (I'm in Finance) that I've been working really long hours...so that didn't help either...

Monday: Nothing

Tuesday: Again, nothing

Wednesday: CTX All Upper Body Work/Abs

Thursday: CTX 101010 Cardio only

Friday: Leaner Legs

Saturday: Didn't feel right, so took a rest day.

Sunday: Rhythmic Step

That's it for me! I'm hoping this week will be a better one!

Have a great week everyone!

Terri

Hi everybody!! What has happened to the check in latley?? Seems fewer and fewer are posting. Hmmmmm.... I think I'm going to take a week off strength training next week. I feel like I'm entering an overtrained state. Muscle soreness that is lasting longer than should, being tired all the time, ect, ect, .....
So here's my week, before my layoff.

MON: BodyMax (step only), CST, calves, forearms and abs, taught classes.

TUES: walk, BBA and legs

WED: Yoga

THURS: MIC (step only), CST,calves, forearms, and abs

FRI: walk, BBA and Legs

SAT: Yoga

SUN: IMAX (kept my intensity lower due to feeling very stiff and sore still)

I'm still going to do cardio and yoga next week(gotta find someway to burn off all these christmas cookies and candies;-)! )
So I'll post that. Have a great week everybody!!

Hi everyone!

Aimee, I think it's the seasonal slump. I did get holiday gifts shipped & cards mailed. No more malls or the post office this month! My exercise log has some gaps but here goes:

Mon: Spinning; Firm TBSM
Tue: Trot 36 min w/ dogs
Wed: Spinning: Firm Tough Tape II
Thu: Trot 30 min; (sister was a no-show for workout); Balance Ball beginners workout
Fri: Firm Strength
Sat: Cycle 46 miles w/ hubby
Sun: nothing yet

The infamous Santa Ana winds have been blowing (hot & dry from the desert instead of the usual ocean breezes). DH was grumbling on the ride about the heat & how draining it was. I think the alcohol & pecan tart he had Friday night had more to do with his lead legs! Too many parties - show's what diet & sleep can do for or against your workouts.

Enjoy the holidays! We can hit it hard in January.

Here is my check-in for the week. I'm starting to get anxious because Friday I'm going to have my varicose veins removed and I will only be able to work my upper body and walk--no pounding or weight work for lower for 2 weeks. Yikes!! How will I cope with the holidays fast approaching? But I have been wanting to do this for a long time and if my legs feel and look better then it will be worth it.

Has anyone had this done? It's called "Ambulatory Phlebectomy".

Sunday--Power Walk 1 hour and Baron Baptiste Hot Yoga 1

Monday--Lower Body Workout @ Gym and Interval Step Class @ Gym & Abs

Tuesday--20 Minute Aerobic Solution Lifecycle and Yoga @ Gym

Wednesday--Power Hour

Thursday--MIC Hi/Low Section Only/CTX Kickboxing and Yoga @ Gym

Friday--30 minutes Eliptical Trainer and Gym Upper body workout & Yoga

Saturday--Run 50 minutes and Abs

Sounds like everyone is very busy. Makes it hard to fit in workouts! I was going to do S&H, but need to have more days to do Christmas stuff, and my son's bday is next weekend, so I have that stuff to do too. So will be doing total body the rest of the month.

Sun. TWV cardio
Mon. S&H chest, back, bis on my own, and taught a hi/lo
Tue. SnI cardio
Wed. S&H Bis, tris, shoulders on my own, and taught a hi/lo
Thu. Power Circuit cardio
Fri. nothing
Sat. S&H legs, shoulders

Hi, everyone! I didn't check in last week because I did not work out at all!

This week was almost as bad but I was tapering for my 6.1 leg of the Tucson Marathon Relay which I did in about 54 minutes.

Last week I did 8.1 miles on Sunday
Monday 3.8 miles
Tuesday 5 miles
Wednesday nothing
Thursday Pilates Beginner Mat work
Friday nothing
Saturday ate lots of pasta!
Sunday The big race!

I am ready to resume my regular schedule this week!

Have a great week everyone!!

Hi gang!
I'm new to posting on this thread, but I have some goals in mind for the coming months and want to get used to checking in on a regular basis.

Mon: Walk 3 miles

Tues: Walk 3 miles, CTX biceps

Wed: Walk 3 miles

Thurs: Walk 3 miles, CTX abs

Fri: Walk 3 miles, CTX abs

Sat: Christmas shopping (does that count? he, he, he)

Sun: rest

I really love walking. I go right away in the morning to rev me up for the day. This week I'm going to work in the other CTX strength segments, and start dappling with the aerobics parts (I'm very uncordinated) You all are very inspiring to me...Have a GREAT week :)

Bobbi!

You were cooking! Congratulations - hope your team met their goals or more importantly, had a great time.

RE: check in time

Hi everyone

Even though we are all busy with Christmas, it is great that we are all managing to work out let alone have computer time. Actually, it does not matter what time of the year it is, working out is like brushing my teeth except I don't take a day of every week from brushing my teeth. :) Here was my week:

Monday - Power Hour

Tuesday - 60 minute walk/some running

Wednesday - Happy Hour High Low

Thursday - Power Hour

Friday - Interval Max (this is the first time I have done this workout in a long time - since just before my hamstring problems) I am trying to get at least one interval workout every week in the next little while.

Saturday - rest

Sunday - Rhymthic Step

PLEASE give us details about getting your veins fixed....I have a bad problem with them in one leg only due to phlebitis (spelling?) when I was 22 years old. I have swelling problems and poor muscle tone in my "bad" leg. I love to have something done. My leg with the veins is always bigger than the other one, and I hate it. One inch bigger in the calf area, which I DON'T need!

Congratulations on your race, Bobbi!

Welcome, Tracey! Checking-in helps keep one honest, that's for sure.

Here's my week:
SUNDAY--snowshoeing, 2 hours, top of Vail Pass, lots of trailbreaking (whew, that's hard!), felt those S&H triceps & biceps everytime I planted a pole
MONDAY--S&H Chest & Back, 30 min. swim drills
TUESDAY--active rest, some hiking
WEDNESDAY--active rest, eye injury (sawdust in my eye--not too big of a deal, but it got stuck there for four hours)
THURSDAY--walking while Christmas shopping as could not read or watch TV due to eye injury
FRIDAY--snowshoeing, off and on for 2 hours
SATURDAY--S&H shoulders
SUNDAY--3 hour hike (my pace, not kid pace :-cool)

This coming week will make it hard to sneak everything, but I'm determined to keep working out. Have a good one, everybody!
