LAST EDITED ON Oct-20-01 AT 10:29PM (Est)[p]Since I had the best week ever I thought I would start....NOT!!!!! I had two "extra" rest days this week. Oh well, the days I did work out were good ones. I hope everyone had a good week this week. My son has been sick so between that and normal stuff my time was limited. He has had some sinus congestion and drainage and he gets gagged and...well, you know. Not fun!!! He is better though! Poor little guy.

MONDAY: Intense Moves At least the week started strong!

TUESDAY: Unplanned rest

WEDNESDAY: S&H Chest/back

THURSDAY: S&H Tri/Bi AND 2.5 mile walk/run

FRIDAY: Stepping ZOne

SATURDAY: Unplanned rest

Well, here's to a better week!!!!

Kelly

Hey guys!

Kelly: I hope your little guy is doing better! I know that when my little guy gets too congested, he gets that "gagging" thing also....they must learn it from each other!

My week was pretty good....

Sunday: Crunch Joy of Yoga

Monday: Rest Day

Tuesday: PS Chest/PS Back/PS Biceps/Abs - Ali McGraw Yoga

Wednesday: CTX Power Cardio/PS Triceps

Thursday: Rhythmic Step (THE WHOLE THING!)...I am so psyched. I finally got MOST of it down pat and am going to take it to a 6" step now. I've been out of breath on a 4" one, however, so I hope it's doable.

Friday: CTX Back/CTX Chest/CTX Shoulders/CTX Triceps/Planks/Abs and Rhythmic Step AGAIN....yes, felt I really had to nail down Rhythmic Step so went for it again. However, this time I couldn't get that one part down in the third section....you know the one where she has you straddle the step and then kind of turn around and you're back (supposedly) facing the TV...I seem to be facing the wrong way all the time on that one...very frustrating.
Saturday: Leaner Legs/Abs

Sunday: I think I'm about ready for a rest day today...

Hope everyone is doing well!

Terri

Happy Sunday!

Hi All!

Kelly~Sorry about your lil' guy! Hope he is feeling better soon. Your week was good considering. Hang in there and thanks for getting the check-in started.

Terri~I'm jealous you almost have Rythmic Step down!! I only attempted it one time and then put it away for a day I have lots of time to WORK on it. Well, I haven't had the time yet! YIKES! One of these days. Good week for you.

Thought I'd get my check-in done for the week as last week just flew by and before I knew it, it was Wednesday and I never posted. Sooo, decided just to skip it last week. It was a good workout week. I did all CTX body parts plus PowerHour at the end of the week. I taught my 4 Hi/Lo classes, plus jogged 2X (only 2miles & 1 mile), IMax and practiced the new routines for next session several times. Okay, onto this week:

MONDAY~CTX-CHEST, BICEPS, ran 1/4 mile, I was just too pooped and it was cold out and I wasn't dressed for it. Thought it was warmer then it was!:-( Taught a Hi/Lo class in the afternoon

TUESDAY~Taught a Hi/Lo class, CTX-TRICEPS, SHOULDERS

WEDNESDAY~Leaner LEGS

THURSDAY~Taught 2 Hi/Lo classes

FRIDAY~CTX-BACK, WU & cardio from Step'n'Intervals, cardio from 10-10-10, cool down from 10-10-10. Fun combo!!:7

SATURDAY~Practiced new routines, PowerHour & IMax! Whew!:-tired

SUNDAY~REST! Off to church and then up to Cleveland to spend the day with Julie, Scott & Kennedy! She's 4 1/2 months old already! Have I ever told you how CUTE she is??? The sun is shining here in Ohio :-cool and it's going up to about 62*! We'll take it. The leaves are beautiful too. Happy Sunday everyone and hope you all are well.

After last weekend's guinea pig trauma (my little guy died, went out and adopted two new ones), I had a pretty good week:

SUNDAY: 45 min. walk with hubby
MONDAY: 60 min. gym cardio (bike, elliptical, walk/run on treadmill, recumbent bike); MIS Upper Body
TUESDAY: 1475 yd. swim
WEDNESDAY: short hike with kids
THURSDAY: 6 mile hike with kids
FRIDAY: short hike with kids, 2 mile trail run
SATURDAY: 1500 yd. swim

On Friday, I went running with a friend from work. We went to Chataqua Park in Boulder (it's at the base of the Flatirons), he took off his shirt and went running up a hill, and I went walking in the other direction. He ran six miles in the time it took me to do two. Must be nice to be one of the uberfit! :-rollen A very good run for me, nevertheless, and my right calf held up nicely. So I'm on for the Girl Scout 5K next Sunday! :-jumpy All the swimming while I was waiting for my calf to heal has really boosted my cardio capacity. I guess there's nothing like having to move your entire body through all that thick water.

RE: Terri

I rewound that one part you are talking about many times! When you do the straddle and lift your foot, turn the same way as the foot you are putting down and keep on going that way until you are back on top of the step ready to do the squat. If you can get the turn right, all the rest of it will happen for you. I am not sure if I am describing this in any way that makes sense but it does come together. Like I said, I hit rewind many times and tried to watch which foot Cathe came down with and how she turned on that foot.

Don't give up on it.

My issue now is that when I do Rhythmic Step, I get a weird calf cramp about 1/2 way through. Not sure what that is but it goes away in a day or two but comes back when I do that tape. Calf raises and running do not seem to hurt it so I am anxiously awaiting my new runners thinking that it is my now dead ones that are causing the problem.

Rhythmic Step is sure an awesome workout isn't it.

Kim

I forgot to write down my workouts this week but know that I did the following:

Each of the Slow and Heavy workouts once during the week, two run/walks (I think on Tuesday and Thursday) and Rhythmic Step on Saturday. Today will be Power Hour and if I my calf feels fine, maybe a brisk walk later on.

Have a great week everyone.

Kim

Hello, Kelley, Terri, Kim, DebbieH, Gretchen and all who will post. It's the time of year for those nasty cold germs to get the kids. It still feels like summer here in Tucson, but already we have strep and varous ailments going around.

I had a pretty good week.

Monday 4 mile run and S&H Legs/Shoulders

Tuesday I took this day off. I was tired after 7
consecutive days of exercise.

Wednesday 5 miler and S&H Chest/Back

Thursday Power Curcuit/CTX Shoulders

Friday 5 miler and S&H Tris/Bis

Saturday Cleaning day!

Sunday I was going to run today but had an unplanned rest
day because I fell down the stairs yesterday,
bruising my hip, my arm, my derierre
but mostly, my dignity. Since I am 16 in my
heart but 38 in my body, I am going shopping
instead. Hi to every who hasn't posted. Have a
wonderful week!

Hope you son is better Terri. It's horrible when your kids are sick and suffering :-(

Sorry about your guinea pig Gretchen. I had a gerbil when I was a kid and watched it slowly die too. I can't believe how sad I was about it!

Bobbi! You ran AND did S&H Legs??? Mine were like jello! Ack! And DebbieH doing Power Hour, IMax AND routines? Yikes!

I had a great week! Don't you love those. Doing cardio every other day alternated with strength works very well for me. I am able to put my all into every workout.
Sun. rest
Mon. S&H chest and back
Tue. Xtreme Intervals
Wed. S&H bis and tris
Thu. MIC, but did step first then hi/lo
Fri. S&H legs and shoulders
Sat. StepWorks WU and sec. 1, PowerMax sec. 2, Rythmic Step Challenge, PowerMax CD.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-21-01 AT 05:31PM (Est)[p]Hello again,

Well I missed check-in last week and this is only my second time posting. Yikes! I hope I can make a point of checking in regularly to keep my self discipline level high. I did have a good week last week (even ran twice in the brutal winds; sometimes was sure I was running in place!) but I didn't check-in because my computer is on the fritz. At least I had time to read everyone's posts during breaks at work which helped me stay motivated.

HI Kelly, Terri, Debbie, Gretchen, Kim, Bobbie and Andrea.

Bobbie: Don't feel foolish. If I had stairs, I don't know how many times I would have spilled by now! Have you ever done this one? Falling off the stove while wiping cupboards; talking on the phone AND chewing gum! It wouldn't have been so bad if my friend on the phone hadn't heard the thud as my backside hit the floor!

Well here's my week:

Sun. rythmic step + abs, 3 mile walk
Mon. MIS, 3 mile walk
Tues. MIC
Wed. rest
Thurs. MIS, 3 mile walk
Fri. MIC
Sat. 7 mile run, wedding weights

Thanks for keeping me motivated guys,
Jodi

RE: Happy Sunday!

I have a late, late check in which is for a partial week. I was on vacation and started to exercise until I was sidelined with a massive toothache on Oct. 9. I stopped on the 11th for an exercise vacation (I was due anyway) because that pain pills made me extremely sick! Got the offending tooth pulled, and it just knocked me off me my feet for several days.

So I started back on Thur. the 18th with Meaner Legs and extra floor work

Fri. Step and Intervals w/ chest

Sat. 10-10-10- with triceps, and legs floor work

I'm back to eating bakery stuff instead of my own bakeoff trials, but I sort of miss mine! I had lots of variety.

I'm trying to educate Deb H on the virtues of different potato chips, but she likes her favorites so far. We have one more brand to try, and then we'll settle on the grand prize winner.

Why can't someone come up with different corn chips, or has the world decided that Frito's can't be improved? Actually, maybe they CAN'T be improved! Sort of like the Snickers bar!:9

Why do I always end up writing about food?!

How is Miss Aimee doing with her competition?

Hi all! Here's my week:

Sunday - Mega Step Blast (did "leg & bun blaster" segment twice - really trying to work on the lower half)

Monday - CIA PowerBar Training

Tuesday - Interval Max

Wednesday - PS-SLA + 100 walking lunges with no weights (50 with each leg) - legs felt wobbly the rest of the day!

Thursday - MIC - does this one EVER get any easier?

Friday - Power Hour

Saturday - Rest. Attended a statewide convention for Beta Sigma Phi. We're not a college sorority - more like a women's service/social organization. We do fundraisers to raise money for different causes. This year our state-wide service project was breast cancer. I am also proud to say that our chapter donated $200 to the Red Cross for the Sept. 11 tragedy.

You know it's really weird to read about everyone's workout schedules after spending the weekend with so many ladies who NEVER workout. A couple of times we didn't want to wait for the elevator in the hotel and ended up using the stairs. It was nothing for me but some ladies really had a hard time even going slowly and stopping to rest a few times. We're talking about 8 flights of stairs - not a lot but no cakewalk either. I think it's unfortunate.

Hey gang!

Be glad you aren't neighbors to HoneyBunch!!! Between her Bake-Off samples and her Potato Chip drop-offs, I am in BIGTIME trouble. Thank goodness for my intense Cathe workouts and my Hi/Lo classes~I am JUST breaking even! ;-)
