Cell phone users

I just upgraded my cell phone. This is the first time I've done this and now I don't know what to do with my 2 Nokia phones that we won't be using anymore. Do people recycle them or something? Right now I'm letting my daughter use one as a toy.

I've heard that you can donate them to safehouses. They set them up so the women (or men, I guess) can use them for emergencies. If I understand correctly, there's no charge if they're only used to dial 911.

That is correct. It is a good use for your discarded cell phones.

Here's one site I found. But there are baskets in many of my local stores like Whole Foods and health food stores, to donate to local rape crisis centers, so you may have some locally too.

Thanks! I found a place not too far from here where I can take them. I'll give them my chargers, too! Hope nobody ever needs to use them!
