CCV8 question again

so when you go to improve on this workout , would you first increase the incline or increase your pace and get better at that before you would up the incline? just wondering if I should focus on getting faster on a 4% incline or climb higher. I kind of think the incline is helping me become a little faster, too early to tell but I ran 4 miles today outside and did a half mile sprint at a 7:22 pace and then I sprinted a 1/4 mile around the same pace. I wont really know if I am getting results until I try to maintain a faster pace for 2 miles or so. man does the sprints wipe me out. also how many times are you guys doing cardio coach workouts a week without considering it to be overtraining?

Laura, again, I workout on an elliptical and I always set my pace with the tempo of the music and use resistance to reach my HR level, so as I improve, I usually add more resistance, but my pace stays about the same. I don't really know how that works for treadmills, though. ;)

Laura,

When Sean says "trek" I try to improve on speed rather than incline. When Sean says "hill" vice versa.

I dont do CC more than 3 times per week.

maybe I will rotate between the two, incline increase one of the days I do it and the other increase pace. How many calories has everyone burned with this workout? It says I burn over 800 calories which seems like alot to me. I usually run about 6miles with this workout. I guess the added incline shoots the calorie burn up there. Of course the fat calories are way way lower, usually only around 300 .My treadmill tells you both total calories and fat calories.

Laura,

I dont track calories burned but I remember that I average between 11 to 13 calories per minute on a treadmill with CC. This is without using a heart rate monitor, and just based on inputting my weight before I start. The treadmills at the gym do not show fat calories. The more the hills in a workout, the higher the calorie burn rate gets for me too.

Rotating between the two seems like a great idea.
