Cathe's use of the word "set"

You know, I thought I understood fitness terminology, including the words "sets" and "reps" and how they are related. But it seems to me that Cathe often says "set" when I think she should be saying "rep." I think that this usually occurs when the "lift" is being done in more than a 2-2 count. Does anyone have any insight into this? Surely, I can't be the only one to notice this. Jeanne

Hi :) I've only noticed this in the S&H series. I feel like she's just so used to saying certain phrases (from practicing and teaching so many classes) that she may just be on auto-pilot occasionally, and makes a few mistakes. Maybe I'm wrong (it's happened before!), but I do think you're right that a set is a group of repetitions.

I notice it quite a bit in the Slow and Heavy series. Wonder if the length of the reps makes them SEEM like sets?

I noticed this also. I agree with the others. Cathe is probably on auto pilot and it just rolls off the tongue. My understanding of sets and reps is the same as yours.
