I was in Target yesterday and I picked up The Step featuring Cathe's DVDs. The system was $59.99 and it came with the small step and risers, two 3lb weights, resistance cord, stability ball and pump. The system also came with 3 DVDs that contain 10 Cathe Workouts. The workouts are Cathe's beginner/intermediate workouts.

Wow, I didn't realize it came with 10 workouts. That's a great deal for someone just starting out, who needs a step and a stabiity ball as well.

Wow - I am impressed as well - that is an amazing collection of equipment and workouts for $60... I will have to mention that to a few beginners friends of mine that I am working on getting on the Cathe bandwagon... :)

Low Impact Step (40 min)
Body Fusion (50 min)
Basic Step (30 min)
Total Body Sculpting (30 min)
Upper Body Sculpting (20 min)
Lower Body Sculpting (20 min)
Stability Ball Abs (10 Min)
Basic Stretching (13 min)
Stretching w/ Ball #1 (13 min)
Stretching w/ Ball #2. (13 min)

These are the workouts that Cathe promotes as beginner/intermediate.

That's incredible. Buying these workouts alone on cathe.com would be $73 plus shipping. And this kit includes a stability ball and pump!

It also came with a step. I have this same step in a different color. With the extra step, which came with 2 risers, I can take the small step to 8" if I want. I don't think anyone sells just the risers for the small step.

>Dang, I spent $24 for 2 of those on the pre-sale. :(

The Target set doesn't have the premixes, which is something that we pre-orderers got that the Target customers don't have.

And if you already have a regular-size step (which I think is better in general), and a stability ball (not to mention weights), then the Target kit isn't that good of a deal. It IS a great deal for those just starting out with step/stability ball/weight training.

Is the pre-order ready to ship, or did it ship a long lime ago?I ordered low impact step and total body sculpting on Sept.29 and I see it's for sale in the Collage video catalog.

I know I am really out of touch, I have been working a lot and I am also in school...

Am I missing something?

Any reply appreciated!

Connie

I ordered the Low Impact Step, as well, and I got it a long long time ago. It's a great workout. Easier than most of Cathe's other stuff, but I love doing this one when I want a good workout without so much intensity.

I think I know what happened-- I ordered the advanced series that's still pending. Well, last night I got on and ordered Low Impact Step because I need it. I have been sedentary for a couple of months. I need to get back to movement but I want to be safe, and have something new.

That short little step looks good. My space is not very big and sometimes the full size step forces me to turn backwards to do power L's or a grapevine off the side...

Hey Connie...I was thinking you were teaching too!! I've been wondering how it is going. Hope all is well.:) :) Blessings.

Thanks for asking!

No, I had to give it up... I cut back in the summer because my full time job went bananas and I had to change jobs. I'm a dental hygienist. I ended up working in a whole bunch of different offices. Well, the stress of everything different every day (the driving, the equipment, the hours, the waiting for the dentist each appointment) was much more than I was accustomed to.

Meanwhile waking up at 4 to work out an hour started to just take too much out of me. I started "sleeping in" to conserve energy. Now, I have not exercised daily since around October. I still get up and out occasionally...

Another thing is that I have started back to school. Fed up with my career totally dependent on a dentist. I am getting a BA in Business Mgmt from St Marys College of Calif. I go to school from 6pm to 10pm every Wednesday night. It is intense, with lots of writing assignments. Degree expected Aug 2006.

Now I'm working on my senior project (I took half the program in 2001, now I just jumped into the last half) and it will be a big project at another new job, sales-repping dental technology for a brand new small company...

I'm not saying I'm too busy for exercise, I'm just saying I have a lot of excuses. I miss feeling as good as I did when I exercised every day.

To make a long story short I quit the YMCA... another stressful thing was the room at the Y was as echo-ey as a gym. Like an indoor pool. I could hardly hear my music.

I tried a step class at another gym and the sound was great! I would love to work there (or just work out there) but I just have too many other things going on right now.

*Today* I think, I start to have a regular schedule of just 2 offices. ...And the tech rep job which I'm starting out slowly... well it's a long answer and I said I'd make a long story short but I lied! :p

I ordered the low impact step DVD with the other workout on it because my level has diminished, I think. I have hardly tested it! I will need workouts that just get me back up out of bed at all.

Fondly, Connie

Thanks for your update Connie. You're not making excuses girl. Sometimes life gets in the way of things and there are seasons for everything. You will get back to "regular" exercise when the timing is right. Sounds like you are getting plenty of exercise just keeping up your incredible schedule. I'll pray that life will calm down for you a bit at some point!!! :) :) :) Good to hear from you!!

Hi Connie

Not to butt in but Connie- I didn't recognize you with the dark hair. I checked out your homepage when I saw you were also an RDH. DUH, it was only then that I made the connection that it was you.:)

I know what you mean about job stress. Today was my first day back after maternity leave and I didn't realize how much all the little things add up to a very stressful day.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and Good luck with school and I hope everything is going well for you now.

See you on the boards,
