Cathe's Exercise Video on Beach

Can anyone tell me what tape of Cathe's in taped on the beach? In the introduction to some of her tapes it shows her exercising on the beach, I thought I had all her tapes, but this one I can't seem to find. Anyone know? Thanks, Pam

I have a low-impact 70 minute step tape by Cathe titled Cardio Step Challenge, and the background is a fake beach setting.

There are actually several on the beach set: Cardio Step Challenge, Home Step Workout, Fit & Firm and Rock Bottoms.

Other older Cathe tapes include Step N Motion 1, 2 and 3, and Taking It from the Top. The latter is the only Cathe tape I've never seen!

Really there is that many? I dont have any of those. How do they compare to Cathe's newer tapes, are they as hard? Do you know of any place where I could get them, but only if they are hard. Let me know. Thanks, Pam

I don't think any of them really compare to the intensity of Cathe's more recent tapes. The Home Step Workout in particular is intended for beginners/intermediates. Not that you wouldn't get a good workout from them, but they're definitely not at the same level as her later work. Also the production quality is not as good. I think the tapes may have been duplicated in EP mode and they have kind of a "fuzzy" appearance. When I had these tapes I got them from eBay, but I didn't end up keeping any of them.

I too pride myself on owning all Cathe's videos, so I understand your frustration when you learned that there are 'classic' videos floating around that you don't have in your collection.

If it helps, someone is selling this tape (Cardio Step Challenge) on Ebay right now. I don't remember where I got my copy - it was either Ebay or the Dollar store. Anyway, although the outfits and background on this tape do look a little dated, it's still a really good video. Not nearly as intense as Cathe's later tapes, but you can still get a good workout.

I also have "Fit & Firm". It has the same beach-look background set as the Cardio video. Personally, I like "Fit & Firm" A LOT. It's one of my favorites - if I am only evaluating the quality of exercises. It is definitely more toning than muscle building, but since I have no desire to build additional muscle mass, this is perfect for me.

My only complaint about this series is that there is quite a bit of "whoo-hooing!" in the background from some of the ladies in the class. If you can get past that (and the lace biker shorts) then this makes a nice addition to your video collection.

The bottom line is that there is no such thing as a 'bad' Cathe video. She has blessed us (and spoiled us) by consistently making high quality, professional exercise videos that are lots of fun and yield great results.
