cathe's discs

or mindy mylrea or anyone else. is one better than the other or all they all the same? i did Slide & Glide with Mindys and had trouble keeping my feet on the discs. cathe says in the video to have your heels hanging off but then they scrape the carpet. i am not sure if i need to buy new ones or i simply need to keep trying to get it. otherwise i do love the new series!

How to use your Slide N Glide discs

You have to lift your heels off the floor when you slide. If your heels are touching when you slide then you're not doing the move correctly. Your heels should only touch the floor as a brake to stop you from sliding.

Mindy's and Cathe's seem pretty much the same to me, at least the 'carpet' versions. IMO, Cathe's "bare floor" covers seem like they'd work better than Mindy's Gliding discs made for bare floors.

Josie, if you haven't done "Slide and Glide" yet, you might want to do that workout, as there is more instruction on how to use the discs. You may need to keep your weight a bit more on the ball of your foot while gliding, then put the heel down to 'brake'. It takes a bit of practice.

I have Mindy's and Cathe's and Mindy's work much better on my carpet. I couldn't really get Cathe's to slide either with or without the covers, and I am keeping my heels up when I try to slide them. Plus one of them cracked within the first 5 minutes of trying to use it :(

Hi Laura! The weight should be on the balls of your feet with your heels hanging off the end. When you are stopped or wanting to stop, your weight is on your heels. If you are wanting to slide simply shift your weight to the ball of your feet and keep your heel from making contact with the floor unless you want to stop.

There is a bit of a learning curve to it when you first get them. Feels a little slick and takes some getting used to. Your body mechanics will eventually adapt and then your will really start to feel the fire in your workouts :)

I think it also depends on the carpeting. I've read some complaints about them not gliding well, but they work beautifully for me. I have "regular" carpeting, meaning a smooth nap. Plush, if you will. Maybe they don't slide as well on Berber type carpeting.
