Catherine (fit fairy) RE: kettlebells

I was looking at kettlebell videos on YouTube and saw a girl doing kettlebells and wearing wrist bands (sweatbands, like the kind you wear for tennis). Maybe you can prevent or reduce forearm banging by wearing those...

I picked up some long tennis sweat bands at Walmart and they are good for forearm comfort (not necessarily banging the bell, but if you have boney wrists like moi, it can be uncomfortable just to have the KB resting against the lower forearm area).

Yep, that's a problem I have too. Boney wrists. They are about the only thing on me that are boney

I was just having a conversation today with a colleague, talking about dressing to hide what makes one look less than "slim." I decided that whenever I want to look slim, I'll just expose my wrists, and keep everything else in black!

LOL!! :D:D

Never thought of wristbands! I'll have to get a pair.

Catherine, dang, I checked out the link you posted, but everyone in PA is near Philly or Pittsburgh. There aren't even any in Harrisburg or State College.:(

Guess I'll check have to keep checking out what you and JJ say.

Darn, that stinks!! I have to drive 45 mins to get to my session, but it's been worth it.

I agree - those little wristbands make a big difference. No more little red marks on my forearms! Also one of my least spendy fitness purchases at around $3.00.

Catherine why not use lifting gloves?

I'm now off to find one of my three pairs of tube socks to make wristbands...

...again, I so wish I was kidding.

No gloves, they mess with your central nervous system and gripping ablitlities. I don't even use gloves when I lift with DBs or BB.
