Cathe, your workouts fixed my knee

I used to get an annoying strain/pain in my right knee once or twice per month which put a damper in my workouts but....a few days ago I realized that I no longer have this problem. Since I have been working out with your workouts, not one knee ache!
I didn't realize that weight training could have this effect on the knees, I had only read in past years of people who couldn't use weights due to knee problems. I am using heavier weights with your workouts than I ever have with any other workouts.
Since I have not had this problem, I have not thought much about my knees it feel to the back of my mind, but I now remember what an annoyance it used to be. I almost forgot completely about it. So I wish to say "thank you". It is amazing what a little (well, maybe not a little, I dont' think people choose your workouts because they are tame) work can do to make things better for one.

The same thing happened to me. When I was at 256 lbs. I couldn't even walk down the steps because my knees hurt so bad. Anyway, now I usually don't have a problem with them, and can even do most of the high-impact tapes. (Just have to work on endurance doing them, LOL) I wonder what exercise actually strenghthened my knees?

I'm not sure, but I remember that the stronger your quads, the better for your knees, because strong quads protect the knees.

I also had some knee issues when I first started working out with Cathe. Taking advice from some forum members, I sidelined the lunges and squats, concentrated more on floor work for legs, and modified the high intensity stepping until the muscles around my knees strengthened and my knees felt stronger. (Excellent shoes helps with this, too!) Now I can do squats and lunges with proper form until the cows come home with no debilitating knee pain! I also take a glucosamine supplement for my joints.

I can't speak for anyone but me, but it was the Leg Press (fanny lifter, not gym) that fixed me up. I did the Firm before I found out about Cathe, and once I learned good form and was able to get heavy with leg press, I think the muscles got stronger and learned to take over which took the stress off of the joint.

Of course, getting active and losing the excess weight had to have been a factor for me as well.
