Cathe: What's *perfect* about Body Fusion ...

Cathe,

I've been a strength work fan of yours for a while but avoided your step workouts because the choreography was tough (playing havoc with my knees *and* my head)! :D I'm not new to step but needed something to help me transition from less mentally challenging workouts like Kathy Smith and Karen Voight to workouts like your Cardio and Weights.

I ordered Basic Step and Body Fusion with the expectation that Basic Step would fit the bill. However, Basic Step was a little *too* simple for someone with my level of step experience. But hey, you don't call it "Basic" for nothing. ;)

However, the step choreography and pace in Body Fusion is bang on! Not only is the workout exceptionally fun and modifiable (I heavied up to 8's and 10's on the weights) but this step workout is *tremendously instructive* for those of us who want to begin to learn more complex choreography in the hopes of tackling and finishing some of your more intense workouts.

So ... Thanks! :7

Hey JB~I just finished doing all three step sections one after the other and let's just say, my clothes are drenched. I put some more power moves in place of knees up and "L" steps (did rhythmic "L's") and so forth and got a great workout. Just an idea for you if you want an extended step workout to practice your step. You use the "premix" feature. After you pick each section, it will play that section and then take you BACK to the premix screen and you pick the next section. Takes only seconds. Have FUN! (Edited to say that I used Body Fusion!)

Hey, Jozy. I did Basic Step on a ten inch step along with the three Fusion cardio sections and it was a kicker. I have very long legs so 10 inches didn't trip me up and I had a very sweaty workout. It's rather fun to nail a workout the first time too! I've been using 6 risers for Leg Press for awhile and I had never thought to try a 10 inch step until now. Of course, the faster paced workouts just don't need that height and more petitie exercisers would probably preferr 8 inches for safety sake.

But don't give up on the choreography of the old stuff. I remember when I first tried Step Works. It confounded me and I gave it to my sister and stuck with IMAX and MIC. As the years marched on and I did more and more Cathe workouts, I got Step Works on DVD and now I wonder why I ever thought it was too complex in the choreography department! My point is, if I can get over being long-winded, if I can master the trickier stuff, you can too! I am using the beginner and intermediate workouts for the days when I need to lower my impact because of my naughty dogs! (I have a collapsed arch.) Stick with them. Cathe will make you a pro even with the more complex choreograhy!

I agree, I love Body Fusion. I also had a great time doing Basic on an 8" step (which I haven't done in years). I've been concentrating on running since November so I have taken a break from step. Boy I can tell it today after doing Body Fusion yesterday. I am surprisingly sore (very much so infact). I increased the weight a bit but not much.

Thanks Cathe!!!

Debbie...any baby news?

Hi Alli!

Nooooo, not yet! They keep moving her due date back & forth! Originally, she was due the 1st. of July and then, they moved it up to the 23rd. of June and, now they have moved it to the 29th.??? She is going for another U-S Tuesday as the nurse said the baby's head and body appear BIG. Julie said, "OUCH!" I told her she needs to get BUSY and have it NOW because I am off classes right now for two weeks. (til the 22nd.) Trust me, she is sooo ready and looks 9 months. We are celebrating Kennedy's 3rd. birthday this weekend. Talk about going fast! Whew! Thanks for asking Alli. I will keep you posted. And...how are your three?

Hey Debbie :)

Ouch! I feel for her. Pregnancy is so wonderful (well for those of us who don't get as sick as she does though) up until those last few weeks. That's when the pain of childbirth can actually sound good compared to the agony of staying pregnant. I've been thinking about you and her a bunch lately. I sent you an email a couple of weeks ago (ok..it was a book....lol).

Wow..3 years old. Where does the time go? I'd love to see pictures of her at her party!!

To stay on topic here, I am still sore after doing Body Fusion on Saturday. No, my ego's not hurt....really ;-). I can't wait to do High Step Circuit. High Step Training is a long ways off...lol.

Hey Alli???

Sorry I missed this reply! I don't THINK I received your E-mail. Was it to my home address or here in the PM?? Do you still have it? I will try to add some new pix of Kennedy's birthday party after Friday night. She is sooo excited. She says she wants to play outside with her friends at the party! She has met new neighbor friends this year and it is an ALL-NEW-WORLD to her! It's the first thing she asks when she gets up from nap. "Can I go outside Mommy?" Thank you Alli for your thoughts for Julie. It means a lot! I'll keep you posted. Should have some BIG news within the next few weeks! :7

I haven't tried this one yet, waiting on picking up some tubes but will keep in mind the threads of those who bought too heavy  and get 3 instead of 2. I too did the basic step on 8", first time in a long time, got a good workout, it is nice to have something for those "need to do something" days.

hello:)
i have done body fusion and have previewed the other 2 and i just have to say that i think these tapes are doable for all levels. i think we can premix and match and increase our weights and intensity to suit our needs! yes, they are a little easier than the other workouts, but if we challenge ourselves using higher weights and jumping a little higher or using a higher step, we can get a great workout!

i love these tapes!
just my 2 cents worth
thanks
take care
