Cathe, Thanks for the PR!

Cathe,

I ran a 1/2 marathon the other day and PR'd!! In addition to my consistent workout routine and impeccable diet (except for the easter chocolates) I owe a big thanks to you.

About three months ago I worked PS, ME, IMAX, LOMAX and some of your other cardios into my rotation. My intention was to do your workouts in place of hill repeats and tempo runs. The great news is that I took 6 MINUTES off my previous PR.

Your workouts are wonderful and your personality motivates me to push it to the next level. I look forward to the many more Cathe workouts that will remain a staple of my fitness agenda!!

Congrats!

Congratulations Elaine on the PR!! I hope to PR in my marathon that is coming up in less than 2 weeks! I agree that Cathe's interval cardio routines are great to use in place of hill repeats and tempo runs. My joints can't always take pounding on the pavement for too many miles. Wow 6 min. is a lot to take off, I bet you are very pleased!!

RE: Congrats!

Thanks for the Congrats Cheryl!

I am please with the 6 minutes off of my time.

I'm just a middle of the pack runner but improving my times keeps me motivated.

Good luck with your marathon. I ran one last October and have entered the lottery for the Saint George marathon. I haven't decided to pray that I'm picked or pray that I am not. As you know, training for a full marathon is a huge commitment of time and energy. I hope it goes well for you.

Another question, different topic, occurred to me: Which, if any, energy gels do you use?

Way to go Elaine!!!!!! Thanks for wanting to credit me some, but it was your focus, commitment, and determination that really did the job. Wow, you took 6 minutes off your previous time????? Incredible. I'm so very inspired. Thanks for sharing and keep up the awesome accomplishments.

WOW!! Congrats on your PR Elaine! You did great and I agree Cathe's workouts really help...:)...Carole

RE: Congrats!

Elaine, hey don't think of yourself as a middle of the pack runner (I am too by-the-way)...we are athletes!! And yes that is what keeps me motivated also to continue improving my times. Thanks for the good luck wishes on the marathon, I hope that it will go well. Where is the Saint George marathon? Is it a big race? I did the NYC marathon last year and have done other big ones like Disney, the Rock N Roll, etc. and it is such a thrill to run with that many people! I found that focusing on one flavor or type of gel bothered my stomach, so I alternate between different gels and bars. My favorite gels include the new Accelerade, Cliff shots, and GU gels. I used the Power Gels for awhile but they are so thick they didn't go down very easy. Do you use them? Keep me posted if you get into the Saint George marathon okay?! We can keep each other motivated in training. I'm planning to do the Chicago marathon this year too.
