Cathe: Something I Need to Know

Because my work schedule is so... nuts I want to create my own rotations with my primary emphasis being a 3-day heavy weight split (for example: GSCT/GSL/GSBSB) with cardio on the days between. Because each muscle group is supposed to be rested after being worked with heavy weights... can I use circuit (light weight) routines on these heavy-weight-"rest"/cardio days? I know you're not supposed to use any weight at all but, if I can, it will definitely open up my Cardio Day options.
