Hi Connie! Thank you so much for your sincere words. I think all instructors can relate to what you are saying. It is very difficult to find that "perfect" CD. It is very rare that I like every song on a given CD. It seems 2 or 3 are great songs, and 1 or 2 take time to grow on me, and the rest have the right beat but are rather empty in contents. On the flipside, I can also imagine how frustrating this can be for the companies producing the CD's too. It has to be tough trying to find a variety of songs that flow in style yet still meet a variety of tastes.
I can honestly tell you that in all my years of purchasing music for my classes, I have maybe only come across two or three cassettes/CD's that I loved each and every song on from start to finish. I share this with you to help ease some of frustration of feeling that perhaps you are missing something in your attempt to find the right music. It has helped tremendously now that the "listen before you buy" option is available. But even then, some companies will only allow you to listen to 3 or 4 songs of the 9 or 10 which can leave you disappointed when you actually hear the whole thing.
I mentioned in an earlier post to another forum member, that even when selecting the songs for the Cathe Vol #1 CD, I was unable to use a couple of songs that we had on the video. I don't know all the technical reasons for this but what I gathered from a conversation was that there are different licensing agreements/approvals that need to be addressed for different applications. And sometimes a song is not available for a certain application. This was what I understood from the conversation but I could be mistaken to some degree.
But in any case, from what you have described, I think you have ordered what I would have suggested. The only other one I can think of was Dynamix's Instumentally Yours #3 (Imax #1 music, which I believe they no longer carry since going to their CD format (it was only on cassette).
Sorry I can not be of more help to you. Take Care
