Hee - Hi Cathe,

Just thought I'd add a funny subject line to grab your attention! I have a few questions for you, but first let me say a few things. This is my first post to your forum, I'm new to your workouts but I am loving them, and I'm sorry to read about your injury. I think everyone that likes to workout is currently thinking of how aggravating it is to have to "rest" through an injury and not get our workout fix in! I wish you a very speedy FULL recovery.

Now for questions. First, I'm lamenting over my abs. I am no stranger to ab workouts - I spent 4 years in the Army as an MP and I've worked out regularly ever since. HOWEVER - my lower abs are very loose since I had my child. (She weighed 9 lbs 10 oz - so it's a bit understandable. I used to say "well, that's because I had a baby" but now that "baby" is 15 years old! So the excuse isn't an excuse anymore!!) I'm curious to know if you had to have any cosmetic surgery after you recovered from pregnancy. I hate the thought of doing that!!! I imagine that my diet is part of the problem and wondered if you could give me an idea of what your daily "diet" consists of.

My second question is not training related. I notice in several of your workouts that you are wearing a black band on your wrist and wondered if it had any special significance.

Thanks for reading and replying to my questions!

I am not Cathe, but, you answered your own question.

DIET.

You are what you eat and abs are created in the kitchen. Also, how much cardio are you doing to burn the fat off and what other kind of workout regime are you doing?

Cathe, has never indicated she had any plastic surgery and I would be surprised that she did.

The black band is to indicate which side she is on. When she is cueing from her right it is "our left".

Cathe's also indicated that she doesn't need it any more (and, in fact, isn't wearing it in some workout), but that it has become like a good-luck charm.

I just wanted to respond by saying tht I am in the same boat you are. I am 41 and my son is now 20 and I still have the loose skin over my lower abs as well. I do exercise everyday and watch what I eat. I recently got the opinion of two plastic surgeons regarding this as I was considering surgery. Both of them told me that it was stretched skin from pregnancy and/or weight gain and the only way to ever get rid of it is through plastic surgery. Both surgeons said that I could never tighten the skin know matter how many sits ups I did. So I had just decided to live with it, at 41 one it is simply not worth it to me to spend $10,000. I am in the best shape of my life and that is what I focus on!

Everything Cathe does is facing us. So when she tells up to step with our right, it is actually her left. So she put the band on her left wrist to remind herself that she needed to cue right when she was actually using left. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to be able to cue the opposite of what you are doing. Makes my brain hurt to think about it!
