Hi :)

I need some help going back from a tight size 14-16 to a size 6-4.
I recently had a baby (my third) and gained a lot!! of weight due to bedrest.

I have been working out 6 days a week for up to 1 1/2 hours for 2 month now and doing Weight Watchers to make sure I don't overeat.
I also eat very clean and drink tons of water.

However I haven't lost any weight or inches :(
Could you please help me by giving me a rotation that will give me some results?

I have Fit Tv so i get almost all your workouts and I also have CTX, Muscle Endurance, Cardio & Weights, IMAX2, Body Max, Legs & Glutes & Step Max on VHS.
I also have a spinning bike.
I was overweight after my last 2 pregnancies and finally in 2001 started working out and went from a size 14 to a size 4 in 4 month! I kept it off until this recent pregnancy.
This time the weight doesn't want to budge :( I'
m very unhappy and depressed because of this , I need to loose this weight again so I can be a happier Mom :)
Thank You in advance!!!

Hi Silke! Congratulations on the birth of your baby! I'm not sure if you are breastfeeding or not but if you are, this would definitely be one of the reasons you would be having difficulty losing body fat. After you stop breastfeeding (if you are), your weight will come off much more readily.

Also, each pregnancy alters our body chemistry a little bit, many times slowing our metabolism making it harder to lose weight. You may also still have hormone imbalances relating to your pregnancy which will contribute to stubborn weight loss.

It has only been 8 weeks since you have taken on a workout program so I suggest giving it more time. 8 weeks after a third baby really is not that long into a fitness program. I would however suggest that you cut back to perhaps 5 days at one hour sessions. Right now it sounds as if you may be doing too much too soon which could eventually lead to injury. You can add on the 6th day in a few weeks and then add on more time to your workouts (only if wanted, not really necessary) a few weeks after that. It is always better to add to your program gradually for safety and effectiveness.

There is no set rotation to help you lose weight faster. Just be sure you have 5 cardio days (2 of the 5 are very high intensity or interval workouts).

You also want to do weight training workouts a couple of times a week.

Here is an example of a week using the tapes you have listed:

Monday...Bodymax
Tuesday..brisk walk/light run for 45 minutes
Wed......Legs and Glutes followed by a light 35 minute run
Thurs....Muscle endurance
Fri......CTX Kickbox (cardio only)followed by CTX 10-10-10 (cardio only)
Sat......IMAX 2
Sun......Off

Good luck and continue to eat clean and drink your water.

Hi Silke, and hello Cathe!! I am SO HAPPY to read what you wrote Cathe!! So many people insist that I should be dropping weight like crazy, although I am not, just because I am breastfeeding....This is my 4th baby, she is 6 mos. old now, and I keep telling everyone that although they insist breastfeeding should make me LOSE weight, I have ALWAYS HELD THE WEIGHT while nursing my babies, even if I am eating better and working out diligently....This has held true for my last 3 pregnancies.....It is very frustrating, and upsetting, but Silke, even if you hold the weight, after a while, I have ALWAYS thought that breastfeeding causes some, IE: me, to hold my weight rather than lose...( Thanks Cathe!! )) !! BTW: I have been doing the last July's rotation , Fat Loss and Definition, and its definitely sculpting my body up!! Quick!!:)) Have a wonderful night:)! Misty

Hi Silke,
I wanted to just comment on your plea for help. You sound like you are doing a lot of the right things and still not seeing your weight budge. So, if I were you, I would ask my doctor to run a blood test. You may have hypothyroidism...or the beginnings of it. I had that same problem after I had my second child. No matter how hard I worked out or diligently ate right, my weight would not budge. It took a few years before a doctor caught the problem in a routine blood test. It has helped me so much to find out about it and to take medication for it. I still have to work hard but at least I am seeing results.

Good luck,
Kristin

Cathe,
Thank you for your reply. You made my day :)
I stopped Breastfeeding 4 weeks ago, i was getting very depressed about my weight and I knew breastfeeding will not help me loose weight , even though there are a lot of people that say it will...
My son is 4 month now and I'm feeling a little better but still very depressed about my extra weight (i think i gained ~ 70 lbs :( ).

I will take your advice and do a little less. I was so desperate that at times i did up to 2 hours a day and if i didn't feel wiped out i tried to do more :( Needless to say it didn't help...
I'm starting out new today using your plan :)
Would it be ok to substitute spinning for running? is it as effective?
Also when doing legs&glutes ( which I LOVE!!!) should i go heavy with my weights or moderate?
One more thing lol when i do high impact the bottom of my feet get very sore often i have to stop my workout or walk in place. What could I do to prevent this? I'm thinking it's the extra weight ...

Which of your workout videos would you recommend for me at this point? I'm thinking about buying some more but I'm not sure which ones would be good for me. Would the Timesaver DVD be a good choice for me?

Thank you again Cathe!!!

Misty congratulations on your baby ,wow 4 children!! my head is spinning with 3 lolololol. I will take a look at the july rotation :)
Thank you for your encouragment :)

Kristin,
I actually have a goiter, had it forever . Last time my thyroid levels were checked they were fine ( that was 8 month ago)
I will schedule an appointment and have it checked again , just to make sure:)

Thank You everyone for your advice and kind words!!! I needed it :)

((Hugs))
