Cathe, Please clarify.

Cathlete
Initially, when I was reading about STS, I remember a thread that stated that the benefits of STS are optimal when cadio workouts are NOT added to the program. Those are not the exact words, or I may have misinterpreted what I read. In light of the rotation you posted, I am confused as to what actually should be done for maximum benefit of the program: STS alone or STS and cardio workouts.
Thank you so much for your input.

Not Cathe...

It was said that it is not optimal to do cardio the same day as your lifting... HTH

Is Cardio a required part of STS?

Hi Teddy 16410, Thank you so much for your reply and the time you spent looking for the thread. I found the excerpt you are referring to:

"We will also be making cardio suggestions for STS. We will provide recommendations for various days, various durations, various types and various intensities. Though I personally prefer that you do cardio on separate days (or at the very least at a different time of the weight day) it is still acceptable to do both on the same day. I realize everyone needs to find the best way to fit their workout routine into their busy lifestyle. We will also include recommendations of things to do during your rest weeks."

I still think I remember reading that the benefits of STS are maximized if utilized as is without cardio. Although Cathe is providing cardio suggestions, I'm wondering if it is a requirement of STS. Will one get better results if the program is followed without cardio?
Thanks.

Hi Lina9496!

Hmmm, I'm not sure where you read that. I honestly don't think it was a post from me or SNM because we are "cardio believers". However, the quote you copied from me below is correct and how I recommend cardio be incorporated. Take care and sorry for any confusion :)

Sometimes I skim through entries on the forums and probably misread something. Or, I was secretly hoping not to work so hard. Thank you so much for clarifying my confusion. I did disc 1 today and loved every minute of it.
