Cathe, new runner...rotation question

Cathe, because I'm an "apple" shape I started doing run/walk intervals in Jan. on our treadmill. I've been doing that 3x/week and strength training 2x/week. On another post somewhere you only recommended running two days a week with the third day being another type of cardio. I know cross-training is important, but I figured since running is new and I'm still trying to get up there w/ distance, speed, time, etc. that 3 days would be needed until I build up to my goal. What do you think?

Hi JCM! When you are new to an activity your muscles still respond very favorably to it. I would say that if you are not experiencing any overuse injuries then three non-consecutive running days will be fine. But when your results begin to slow down, then definitely stimulate your metabolism with other forms of cardio as well. Good Luck!
