I was wondering, if I'm trying to lean out more, can I still have a small "not so clean" treat a day...around 200cals maybe? Also Cathe, do you eat white rice ever?...is it considered a "clean food", of course eaten in small amounts?

Healthy eating clean "diets" suggest a "cheat" snack but in moderation and only once a week.

Eating clean is hard to do, at first until it becomes the habit, once eating clean is a habit it is no longer to focus on what you should eat because it becomes what you want to eat.

In another thread I made the comment about the book "the Abs Diet for Women" which is all about eating lean, healthy and clean. This book could answer this question for you and so much more.

Diets however is a word we have associated with something we get on to lose weight and then get off. Eating clean and right shouldn't be a "diet" because it is something we should do forever.

half the world eats rice on a daily basis and these nation are not struggling with ever increasing obesity rates. Rice is a staple carbohydrate for many nations. It fits into your diet just fine.

Several years ago I was experimenting, trying different rices, and I found THE BEST RICE EVER! It's called BLACK JAPONICA by Lundberg (www.Lundberg.com). It's a blend of Japanese black and mahogany rices and has the richest flavor. Their website will direct you to a local retailer but I think you can also order online. Clean eating's a lot more fun with this stuff.
