Cathe-help w/long lever core work

Hi Cathe,

I am having trouble with long lever core work and my hip joint popping. It feels like the bone is popping in and out of place when I do things like the long lever ball exchange. It is not painful just annoying however today after core max I had a soreness around the hip flexor and pubic bone. Any suggestions?

Looking forward to the new workouts. I'll have to wait awhile to do the weight work as I am 4 months post surgery for a total tear to my rotator cuff. I do my therapy exercise every day and have gone from a tuna can to 3lb weight for shoulders...Yeah! The recovery is really slow but I'm following your advice and staying faithful to my rehab. You are a great example for handling injuries the right way and proving that you can get back to 100%. Thank you for that!

Bumping:)

I know you must be very busy but would like your thoughts on a few more things.

My PT thinks the popping is due to being tilted forward on my left side causing a shortening of the joint and less room for movement. My left hamstring is weaker too because being out of alignment pulls on it. I have some new exercises to help with that.

I would like to know the best substitutes for doing military (overhead) presses and side laterals. Both my orthopedic surgeon and physical therapist stongly advise against doing these as they cause impingement issues. I noticed that you do both of these in the new workouts and I will need to modify them. I have been told to do laterals at a 45 degree angle with thumbs upward rather than straight out to the side but I'm not sure what to do in place of the ovehead press. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
